Thai Lemon Restaurant in Hillingdon

One of the most disappointing meals that we've had in a long time. Tempura prawns were covered in a very thick soggy batter, rice was served in what looked like its original wrapper and was a solid tasteless lump. Stir fry vegetables were cold and tasteless and the prawn crackers were stale. I'm still looking for the peanuts in my dish.General lack of taste overall. Previous experience has been good but it's time to find a new thai restaurant.

We went on a Saturday night and had to wait for 1/2 hours for a table. The place is small, but the food is good. They had a lot of Uber orders by the looks of it, and hence, a couple of tables left off as they had difficulty serving them. Luckily for us the food did not take too long to arrive, we ordered Satay Chicken, Prawn Tempura, for maine course we ordered Prawns Gang Panang and rice and Pawns rice noodles. The satay chicken was tender and flavorful. The prawn Tempura was very crispy and cooked to perfection, though the batter was thick, considering Tempura batters a very light. The Gang Panang and rice noodles were delicious. Would recommend this place, but come with an expectation that there might be delays during busy hours

Not authentic Thai food despite the decor. Possibly the worst Tom Yum soup I have ever been served. Consisted of some salt water and a couple of quartered mushrooms. The main pad Thai was okay though.

This used to be a lovely restaurant run by a family however recently twice our experience has been awful. Yesterday at lunch I was served raw chicken and prawn toast and they apologised and replaced it. My noodles that I ordered were veg and tofu and I was given my noodles with scrambled egg which wasn't mentioned in the menu, and they were bland with not much flavour Green Thai curry was nice, sticky rice were not that great. They have increased the prices but the food has gone downhill sadly. Iam afraid will not be going again. Such a shame as I really used to love eating there.

I have eaten at this place before and the food was good back then. However, today when we went there, I ordered prawn soup and prawn fried rice. The fried rice was terrible. When we asked the waiter if there was a new chef, he informed us that there was a different lady chef on Sunday. Overall, I am not satisfied with the quality of the food considering the amount I paid.

It was nice to find a halal Thai place to have a meal. We ordered some lovely starters, tempura prawns, prawn and chicken toast. The fish cakes were not so nice, very rubbery and bland. The oyster sauce chicken stir fry was lovely and hot but very bland in taste, hardly any seasoning. Thai green curry with chicken was nice, flavourful but didn't come with the rice, this was separate - unusual. The side rice portions were small. On the day we went there were no desserts in the menu. Service was nice polite and we found parking just outside.

The food not worth the money! All the food cooked in a lot of oil! Shame that we spent money and didn't enjoy!

We enjoyed the food and there was hardly anyone there as it was Subday evening so we had nice quiet time during our dinner. They have a good variety of vegetarian food and it's clearly marked if ot has fish oil or oyster sauce. The restaurant itself is outdated so needs upgrading especially the dinning tables as it was chipped everywhere and they didn't use table cloth or paper to cover this hence it was little dangerous.

Horrible service. Food can still be bearable if service if good enough but not the case. Think the management has changed cos it used to be a good place. We were provided incorrect information and misled by serving wrong food. Staff was not courteous or customer friendly at all. Not going again!!!!’

Absolutely worst customer service, treated me the customer very rudely on the phone and also the poor driver, refused to give me her name she was an Asian ( Oriental Asian lady) . If you have made a mistake learn to accept it and apologise rather than being very rude because you’re busy. If you cannot handle to the pressure then dont accept delivery orders you want the money and stress out on the customers ?! Worst customer service

We have eaten here before and enjoyed it but went tonight and the food was oily and bland. We were not even offered desserts despite sitting there for 30 minutes. Our table was filthy and not wiped. We won’t be returning

Starters were really good. Pad Thai was a bit too sweet for my liking. Not had pad Thai this sweet before. And I asked to add prawns and beef but they forgot the beef. We went for an early dinner around 5pm on a Saturday, it wasn't that busy at that time. Nice place to dine.

Really nice food; especially the Calamari, Spicy Beef Salad, and Lamb Shank Massaman Curry. The meat on the lamb just fell off the bone; really nice. There wasn't any background music playing which would have been nice as it was a bit eery and quiet until it filled up a little later on. This is only a minor suggestion for improvement; it was a very nice evening.

Food was delicious, service fast and friendly. Honestly so happy with food and satay sauce so fresh and tasty, just a little more options would be nice including dessert but would definitely go back thank you!

We booked a table for 4 over the phone. I was ordering food for kids explaining my child’s allergy while ordering it. The manager who was taking the order was reluctant to even listen to what I was explaining and kept on saying next, next to which I paused even when she continued to say next for 3 times and then telling me off how busy they were. Absolutely shocked to the rudeness although I would have given her a benefit of doubt thinking she could have had a long day or bad day. Her repeated cultural ignorance that seemed purposeful could not be waved. I am not returning to her restaurant again, never. When I asked for someone I could speak to, she mentioned she was the “highest level” and I could not speak to her about it, she continued with the phone take away order while talking to me and somehow asked me to leave. While I started to pack my infant back in his snow suit and collect the items, she apologised. Disappointed to have come across such an attitude.

Great food and charming waitress who really tried hard to make our evening so enjoyable. The mixed platter starter was delicious as was the tamarind duck and pad Thai. They are also open on a Monday which is a huge plus.

Excellent and un pretentious Thai Restaurant. Food is good and served well. We do tend to order the same thing each time as we do like the Prawn Pad Thai and Beef Massaman which I can recommend. Chicken Satay is good too. Tender and Well flavoured. Recommended for casual dining and a quick meal as the service and kitchen are quick.

Been dining here ever since it opened. Affordable. Authentic. Lovely staff. No local Thai restaurants compare. So glad they survived the pandemic and cost of living crisis. Support them, try it out, great for vegetarians

Pretty nice and as authentic as one can get in London 🙂. Prawn toast and Fish cakes were excellent. Both the Thai green and red curry are really nice as well.

Food Is amazing Best Thai food in the area

I ordered a pad Thai with vegetables and tofu. We have ordered from here before but each time it tastes different. This last time I found it overly oily, with very few vegetables and no real flavour. Disappointing as it isn't cheap. I can't comment on the rest of the menu is like or the eating in experience as this was an Uber eats takeaway. Fingers crossed my stomach isn't upset tomorrow!

Me and my family used to love Thai Lemon. It is one of our favourite local restaurants. We would visit at least 1-2 x a month. The previous owners were amazing and always offered a great service with their food and hospitality. The owners have changed and we visited once a few months back and did not meet our expectations. We decided to give them another chance today and can safely and sadly say will NEVER be visiting Thai Lemon again. Unfortunately the food is just not worth eating out. Maybe we are just so used to the amazing food we used to have by the previous owners but this just does not compare all. Prices have also increased which ok is understandable but they have also added a service charge to their bills. £240 bill and the duck pancakes were mouldy (wish I had taken a photo, large area of mould). When pointed out to the waitress she did not even apologise and simply said ‘I will get you a new one’. We were put off and didn't continue eating it. The duck was VERY dry and clearly old. Spring rolls full of oil inside. Drinks were not even cold from the fridge. Offered at room temperature with no ice in 32 degrees weather? Tom yum appaling, extremely salty and mushrooms very old. We did not finish these. Barely any meat in the sweet n sour chicken and oyster beef. No flavour in any dish whatsoever, thai food is meant to be very flavoursome. Really not worth £240 very disappointing. They didnt even offer to reduce the bill or remove service charge after the mouldy pancakes. Very unprofessional and food is not up to restaurant standard. Can tell they dont have a proper chef.

Great Thai restaurant! Very friendly and helpful staff, who give a good breakdown on questions asked on menu options. Caters for Vegetarians, main dish portions good size, food flavoursome. Would defo recommend. Only negative is they don't deliver, but I will be back.

Really enjoyed this dinner! We went in February 2023 and had a very nice dinner. We had starter and main courses (all featured in photos). All were very very good, tasty and enjoyable. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, but we still had a lovely time. The staff were nice and friendly and will 100% be going back.

Ordered a take away. The food was nice but the tom yum soup didn't taste or look anything like what I've had on my travels.

My food was so spicy I had to throw the Pad Kee Mao away. The sim tam salad was good, and so was the green chicken curry with egg fried rice. The take away too quick suggesting it had just been reheated. decor was nice.

*PLEASE READ THE LOW RATED REVIEWS FROM OTHERS BEFORE CONSIDERING TO ORDER FROM THAI LEMON.* My family and I had a very disappointing experience ordering food from Thai Lemon through the Uber Eats app. We specifically ordered a Tofu and Vegetable Green Curry, which instead came with chicken. As a family of strict vegetarians, a member of the family unfortunately ate the chicken not knowing this, leading them to be very upset. We rang up the restaurant to notify them and they only offered their apologies and nothing more. We requested a refund but we were then told to go through the Uber Eats app (a huge inconvenience given the order is marked as delivered). We then requested them to prepare another Tofu and Vegetable Green Curry, which they stated they won't be able to deliver. Although the restaurant was a 10 minute drive for us one way, we decided to collect the food item. The manager, who had seen us enter couldn't bear to apologise herself, hid in the kitchen and had another staff member do *her* job instead. She eventually did come out from the kitchen upon request and blamed their mistake on the restaurant being too busy on a Tuesday evening... There was a significant lack of remorse on their side and this negative experience could have been avoided had they taken ownership of their mistake and accommodated for our dreadful experience. Considering the variety of dietary requirements people have today and in some cases serious food allergies, Thai Lemon don't really seem too concerned with meeting such requirements.

The only dish I have been ordering from Thai Lemon is Pad Kee Mao noodles ( dining, take away, uber eats), which was always up to my expectations. I have tried the same dish with various restaurants, and one common thing, drunken noodles are never served with eggs. Today when I placed my order with Thai Lemon via Uber Eats, they sent me pad kee mao with egg. This has happened for the first time, so I gave them a call and politely told them the issue. The lady on the call started shouting that we constantly add eggs in pad kee mao and it's your mistake that you have not mentioned abt eggs. Even Thai Lemon's menu has not mentioned abt eggs on the menu for pad kee mao. I have heard reviews that ever since the management has changed, the food quality has gone down but never experienced. But today, I can say the ladies running this restaurant are LIARS and RUDE. Too much disappointed

The staff were very friendly. The food was really good and very tasty compliments to the chef. The food left a nice taste in your mouth. Throughly recommend.

Extremely disappointing, the portion of Calamari for £6.50 was certainly not worth it. Normally enjoy ffood from Lemon Thai, but I think I'll give a miss for now.

Great food, really authentic flavours. The menu had a nice variety of the classics. The service was brilliant and quick. To top it off the staff were really good too. There is parking close by which is really handy too. Went here for the first time and was well impressed especially as I was looking for a nice Thai restaurant close to home. Mission accomplished 🙂

This was our favourite Thai for a long time. Hadn’t ordered for a while and got a takeout this evening from Uber eats (which was the first change). Food arrived and we thought we ordered from the wrong place and then called back to find out the chef has changed. No crackers with our order. The Tom Yum was half the size, the veggies too chewy and not as spicy as it was before, whole chillies in the dish though we picked out! The duck rolls are half the size and not as tasty and came with sweet chilli sauce instead of hoisin. Pad Thai had odd soggy bread in it. Chicken Penang was ok but no heat. SUCH A SHAME!!!

Good service food a little disappointing and expensive

Usually no issues here, however today my wife and I went with my daughter, we waited inside for 10 mins until we were seen to. We were asked to sit, my daughter (5 months old) needed a nappy change, went to the bathroom but there was no where to change her, asked staff member where to change our daughter and we’re told the restaurant doesn’t usually have babies, asked if we can use the table as we have a mat, we were told no and told to use a chair and take it to the bathroom.

Don’t bother rude staff called to confirm said they are open till 10pm walked in at 9:35 to be told take away only waste of time

We ordered a take out around 12.30 on a weekday, it appears the kitchen wasn't fully ready but we were able to get a pad Thai and pineapple fried rice. Asked for recommendations of fried rice, which one is more flavoursome but they were unable to give one and said they never had it themselves. The food was not bad, portions decent, but I find the chicken dry and the prawns not particularly fresh.

Staff is great, food is ok. Not the best Thai but definitely worth trying. Had the beef noodles, there were more beef than noodles! My partner had the green curry and it was delicious!

We went on a Friday. There was street parking. All the food looked delicious. However I got some sort of allergic reaction after having the Tom Kha. Perhaps it was the mushrooms. Others who enjoyed the remaining food had nothing to complain. Chicken wings, prawn tempura are good as starters

We were given a table and sat down. We ordered drinks and our food, only to be told 5 minutes later that they were fully booked and we had to leave. Very bad experience, and it seems like this happens a lot based on other reviews.

Worst food eaten or seen. So oily and oil smells. Very disappointed. We went with work people. Wished I could add photos here to show how oily the food was. We had ordered crispy corn, vegetable tempura & spring rolls. I understand it can be oily but not literally like you are drinking oil. Disappointing.

Popped into here after reading the reviews (which were all brilliant). They were not wrong. The food was delicious. I had a massaman prawn curry and jasmine rice and my mum had a green prawn curry and steamed rice. The young girl that served us was lovely too. We will definitely be coming back!

I wish I had read the last few reviews and not spent £60, yes £60 on a takeaway on Saturday. As well as the prices. the chef has obviously changed, the food quality has gone downhill & some of my favourites have been altered for the worse. We had chicken satay, 4 pieces of chicken was good - but only one thimbleful of a horrible vinegary satay sauce. The duck pancakes were 90% vegetable - I had to hunt for the duck! The green thai chicken curry was over sweetened but ok, the beef drunken noodles had chicken & egg in it as well, but lacked any depth of flavour. The beef with garlic dish that we ordered turned up as beef with ginger with a thin tasteless liquid that was supposedly gravy! The rice was nice. It was so disappointing. We have been customers of this restaurant for years and despite its rough around the edges appearance & slightly chaotic service & opening hours, we really enjoyed the food. We did try calling the manager to explain our dissatisfaction but they were not interested. Apparently, unless you call on the night they do not entertain any complaints. So, please beware before you spend a lot of money here. We will not be returning again. There are so many restaurants around this area now, I'm sure somebody will actually appreciate our custom.

I came to this restaurant many times few years ago and absolutely loved the food, especially fish dishes. I was extremely disappointed at my recent visit. Menu no longer has fish, only prawns. The fried chicken wings tasted foul and I had to spit it out (Meat gone off)! I pointed it out to the waitress who didn't care. The rest of the food was bland and it was as if the chef was skimping on ingredients. I've been to Thailand many times and have a good experience of the many different dishes and how they should taste. To top it all off we were charged almost £7 for service. Won't be coming back to this restaurant until the chef and menu is changed.

Well, didn't get a chance to eat the food. We walked in and I know Fridays can be a busy time, but the lady who welcomed gave us a table for 2, we order a lot of food so sometimes the table gets cramped, so therefore I asked if we can get a bigger table. Another lady, manager I suppose - said that they are busy and fully booked. Bearing in mind - there was only 2 families and all other tables empty. Why did the first lady allow us to sit? and then the second turned us down? Very unprofessional and quite damn rude. Not visiting again. Visit Kimdee in Ruislip they are welcoming and accepted us straight away.

Visited on a weekday evening when the place was very quiet but service was excellent; so friendly and welcoming, while being efficient and thoughtful (we came with our 1 year old, and the waitress couldn't have been better, bringing different cutlery and plates, interacting with her so well). The food was delicious and quick to arrive, the decor is good and we would happily return. Parking immediately outside on the road is available and free after 6.30pm.

It was okay, I think they have changed owners since the last time I went here. It is totally different now and the food is not as great anymore nor authentic as it used to be. However the service was really good.

Papaya salad was approx 10.00£ and the portion was super small. Not even enough for two. That’s really taking a P….

On Wednesday I booked a table for a surprise birthday party for my best friend, and the waitress that looked after us for the evening absolutely made our night! She was witty and funny, she played along and massively added to our night. The food was so delicious and will definitely be back! It’s also her birthday Next Sunday! So we wish her a happy birthday 🥳

Edit: Now open to dine in on Friday and Saturday which is amazing. Went back recently and had the beef pad thai. It was perfect. Sweet, like a pad thai should be, and very flavoursome. We also got the veggie spring rolls, dim sum, chicken satay, sweet and sour chicken and Massaman Lamb Shank. All were amazing but the Massamann Lamb Shank and the Beef Pad Thai were my favourites. Nikki was also amazing and made the experience more enjoyable. Brilliant experience. Clean friendly and food tasted amazing. Price is pretty reasonable and the food menu is fully halal although there is alcohol on the premises from what I remember. Would definitely go back. I do wish they were open until later and they also don't allow dine in on Friday and Saturday.

I was a big fan of this place, until yesterday. There is a new management and new chef. And everything seems to have deteriorated. Food is still nice, but not as good as earlier. And beware of one thing - if you call for reservation, they will pretend they are full but they are not. It happened with me and I saw them doing that to other callers as well.

Like zoinks scoob! Only had takeaway from here, and every time the food has been 10/10 for flavour, portion and price. Definitely recommend the Tom Yum soup and any main with tofu, how they do it, I don't know #isthetofureal

I have been going to Thai Lemon for years and we loved the food. But recently they changed ownership and the quality of food we had was so poor, tasteless, watery and soggy. It is really ashamed.

Such a disappointment. I’ve been in this restaurant 3 month ago and it was absolute delight. Today I was very sad to discover that is not the place I went to, nothing to see with real Thai kitchen. Bad management and poor service.

Lovely food and great, friendly service

Management has changed and the place has really suffered. Food quality was poor and portion sizes much smaller. Staff service also poor, asked if we had finished eating whilst we had food on our plates. Such a shame, old place was incredible, won’t be going back.

Such a shame that only the name remains the same. New management and the standards have slipped dematically. Can't believe the boys have left, this was genuinely one of the best thai restuarants around. Missed out 2 dishes in our takeaway and accused us of lying about it. Took all the food back immediately, and low behold they had packed it in someones elses. Demanded a refunded which they also refused initially. We will not be troubling thai lemon anymore.

I absolutely love thai food. Their prawn toast & chicken satay for starters are my favourite, as well as their pad thai chicken. All chicken is halal which is fantastic.

We went back to Thai lemon after 3 months as we had a great experience the previous times, however I went there today with the family and was told about the change in ownership and chef. We thought how bad can it be so gave it a try, big mistake. First we tried to order the spare ribs as starter with mix platter and was told they ran out of stock of the ribs, then we received the main course of pad Thai, egg fried rice and Tom yum soup. All the dishes we tried didn’t taste great. We ordered a weeping tiger but didn’t receive it as they made an error in the kitchen. After the appalling night, I told them to cancel the weeping tiger and provide the bill. The staff were apologetic but this didn’t make up for the poor tasting food and service, they offered a chicken noodle complimentary but I think this was someone else’s order they messed up. If your hoping for the old Thai lemon then you’ll leave disappointed.

UPDATE 16/10/22. Restaurant has changed ownership. Can no longer in good faith recommend this establishment. Our first visit since the change was nothing but disappointing. The service was similar to a fast food restaurant (speed and no pleasantries). They completely forgot to give us our starters and skipped straight to mains. And the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. OLD REVIEW: Absolutely amazing food and a very nice, casual atmosphere. Service was great and you really feel like you're supporting a local business instead of a huge chain An absolute must try if you're in the area and enjoy Thai food!

Poor service poor food. Used to be a regular here and really used to enjoy authentic Thai food. I’m sooooo sad that it’s now under new management who can’t even give you a smile!!! I’m so sad to have lost the amazing Thai food I used to have here :(

Really lovely - extremely fresh and authentic Thai food. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back Edit - they’re under new management now but are genuinely trying their best. Very good service. I do think the quality of some food items needs to be reviewed but was good overall.
