Thai Yum Yum in Runnymede

We had our first takeaway from the new restaurant. The food was very good and tasty. They have done an amazing job brightening up the restaurant and it is cosy and the couple are very friendly and welcoming.

Went with family to celebrate my Daughter's birthday. Good food at good price and they threw in a Birthday surprise to end it all. Good service as well.

After not visiting for years, had a delicious meal there last night. It doesn't look inviting from the outside; but inside is comfortable and the staff are lovely. Thoroughly recommended.

We've had take away from Thai Chefs many times already and after just having had another delicious meal, we feel that diners should know about this small, local place. The portions are generous and everthing we've tasted was consistently fantastic (tonight, we had duck with lychee, green thai curry, pad thai, and several starters). We couldn't find them on Just Eat anymore and their website seems to be broken, but they are open - and even do 10-15% discounts. We highly recommend this thai place!

The chilli whole fish is really yummy and the classic Thai green and red curries are as good as they get. Definately recommend

The delivery driver was very rude and I made a complain about 1 year ago. Today I have ordered the food and made payment but the restaurant cant accept my order. Very disappointed. Poor service

Haven’t had a curry from here for a couple of years. Food was nice and hot, delivery spot on but unfortunately the food wasn’t very flavoursome. Used to be my favourite Thai place for takeaway. Sorry guys.

Reasonably priced. But chicken dish was very tough. And they do not seem to have an effective method for paying by card - after giving them my phone number twice whilst on site and waiting for a text which didn't happen, ended up having to walk to the nearest cashpoint and back to be able to pay.

Very tasty take away got veg pad Thai and soup very nice. Great texture and flavour. Extremely generous portions at reasonable prices.

From a previous review sounds like this place has defo gone downhill .... just ordered a delivery and the starters were burnt and the pad Thai watery and not edible. The chicken was fatty and covered in gravy and not tasty at. My husband had a red Thai and was also disappointed. We have had previous Thai dinners here which have been lovely but this was 6 months plus ago and it seems it’s either been taken over or the chef was maybe 8 years old ...... sadly we won’t be reordering as it was £40 not well spent.

After many nice meals and takeaways this one was disgusting. We complained about the starters being burnt they quickly replaced them, we were hopeful but unfortunately they were no better. They had been cooked in stale fat. The curries were very watery with lots of fat floating on top and no flavour or anything like the curries I’ve had before. I feel disappointed as I had recommended them to my friend who I have not seen in a year even though she is part of my support bubble. It takes a lifetime to build a reputation but this has made me feel I will not be returning as I felt embarrassed as my friend had treated me. I tried calling about the curries and left a voicemail as they did not pick up. Will I return or recommend - sadly no 😢

Ordered Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai take away. The most non tasty Tom yum soup I have ever tasted. Waste of money. Even instant soup will taste better. Will never order again.

Ordered takeaway from Thai Yum Yum multiple times and couldn’t recommend enough. Good quality every time. And always delivered on time or slightly early.

Horrible service had the order completely wrong. Ordered three curry’s only got two. Called to ask where the Massaman curry was and they said they don’t even have it!! And then changed tail and said we didn’t order it. So rude also ordered coconut rice got sticky rice instead. Never ordering from here again didn’t offer to refund nothing

Authentic food, very good value, typically quirky in a Thai way. Food is very fresh, I’ve been there a few times, not let me down yet, they also deliver.

Firstly the good stuff The meal arrived pretty much on time and hot, the sauces were very flavour some and the noodles and rice were very nice. Now here is the problem. The chicken was very dry and overcooked. As a chef myself I suggest they tenderise it in egg white and cornflour and that way it would be like it should.. I would not order again until they change the way they cook their chicken which is a shame. The squid also wasnt crispy but soggy, again adding cornflour to the batter mix would keep it crispy for longer and maybe delivering it in a different box

Drove passed so many times and finally stopped and had some dinner.. Wow.. most delicious... Papaya salad... duck and pineapple rice.. insanely tasty.. my nanny loved it too..😊 Genuinely authentic tasting dinner... Cant believe I've driven passed so many times!!

Our first time in Addlestone - we LOVE Thai food so was so excited to try it and it didn’t disappoint! We Got a shared starter which was brilliant, a little pick n mix of all Food. I opted for the Penang curry (my fave and was unreal!) my partner got the jungle curry - also amazing! Service was excellent - if your out and about around here I would deffinitley recommend - shame we don’t live closer as this would be a regular haunt of mine!

I've always found it hard to find a good Thai restaurant/takeaway but I thoroughly enjoyed the food from here. Will be going again

We ordered a take-away and were going by the good reviews, I mean let’s be honest, its hit and miss really with this place from what you read with the reviews. I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. Having lived in Asia for 30 years, I’d like to think I know my stuff when it comes to GOOD Asian food and I am all for supporting local businesses. Long and short of it – if you like and know good authentic food, this is not the place for you. I was shocked as the prices are quite high – so was thinking it would be decent. It was not. A total disappointment and waste of money. The whole lot went in the bin. Beef and chicken dishes were dry, tough and the pieces were so large you needed to cut with a knife and fork. My teeth couldn't quite manage it. The noodles, were not what you would liken to noodles, more one lump of squashed pasta, all mushy with no texture. Looked re-heated/recooked to me. My all time favourite was the Thai Green Chicken Curry with the luminous and very watery sauce with the addition of cucumber slices that were all mushy and soggy and a LARGE LONG BLACK HAIR. That was enough to put my chopsticks down. My advice, if you want good Asian food – go to the Beijing around the corner. The prices are similar and you get extremely high-quality, delicious authentic food – their Thai Green Curry is world’s away from the one that I had from here. And they also throw in prawn crackers complimentary :)

Chicken was cold n not cooked with sauce, had chicken smell

This place is the worst Thai food I’ve ever had the mispleasure to attempt to eat. The “prawn toast is deep fried baguette, that contains no minced prawns, just sesame seed covering the bread. The noodles have what seems to be frozen vegetables, bland flavour and chopped nuts that had steamed and gone sloppy.The chicken is hard, dry and tasteless, in all dishes we received.The “barbecue” sauce ribs, have no sauce, and are just fatty and oily. Their jungle curry was watery and tangy like sweet and sour, not curry. I tried to discuss with them but they just laughed and tried to make out I was lying. Thai food is my favourite, I know what good Thai is, and this is far from it. I would seriously avoid this. £50 spent and 90% went in the bin. Disappointing. Ruined our evening and they refused to refund. Never again. AVOID.

Absolutely amazing food the best Thai I have ever had

Ordered yellow curry and pad Thai, curry was very runny, and the chicken in the pad Thai was very hard over cooked. The mixed starters was very horrible. One of the worse Thai' s iv had. Won't be useing them again.

This place is horrible. The food is inedible and sent it all back. Should have know because we had a take out from there once and that all went in the bin. The soup looked like it had an old boot in hot water. Can’t believe this place stays open. . Trust me.....don’t go there

Picked up a takeaway from this unprepossessing restaurant and was really surprised on how tasty the food was. The Penang chicken and pad Thai noodles were delicious. The beef dish was tast and spicy but the beef was a bit tough. Not many Thai places near Chertsey so this is a good find.

Not in a good way though I might add! Whilst the food is great and the service friendly, I was pretty shocked that we came to an impasse when I paid by card and forgot to order prawn crackers. We had spent over £35 on the takeaway and whilst the crackers are only £1, they have a £10 card transaction limit. They had just processed the card and best they could offer was to run me down to the local cash machine else I would need to spend £10! They would have got much more repeat business if they said they’d throw them in for free or even add them to my next bill. Hell I would have reminded them next time! Maybe there won’t be a next time?

Best Thai restaurant around. Authentic and tasty food. Can't recommend enough.

This is our kids favorite place to eat and we probably go there once a month (either eat in or take away). I can highly recommend the hot beef salad for a starter, it's fresh and tasty and i order it every single time (lots of fresh veg, strips of beef, chilli/lime/fish sauce, some kind of , coriander etc)! We tend to stick to the same few dishes since the kids are quite fussy, but we always enjoy the pad thai and the massaman curry.

Very small internally but that is it's charm. Family run and traditionally cooked........fantastic food and not pricey, great value for money and packed with Thai flavour. Give it a go.

We recently visited the Thai Yum Yum in Addlestone. From the outside it looked as if it only did take aways BUT how wrong we were. The decor was very different, a little old fashioned, and the tables went out into the back room. The food was delicious, the best Thai food I have ever eaten. The service very very good. Try it . The only down side is that there is n't any parking.

It was very good food but not extraordinary. You need to book as there are only a few tables. I think people like to think they have found a hidden treasure. It was very good, I would have no hesitation to go back but no compulsion either. Tasty food priced as expected and service was good.

Yet again, a very tasty and top quality meal for a great price. Although a constant stream of takeaway traffic was seen, we were the only diners on a Saturday night. I think if they invested a bit in the outside look and internal decor with an update it might attract more diners. Again the portions were more than ample and we ended up taking some home.

The food here is amazing!!! I would deffo recommend trying it! The holy basil fish and pad Thai are to die for! The rib starter just falls off the bone. The squid has so much flavour and is very yummy. Go and try it :)

We were on our way to a gig at the nearby Holly Tree Inn and decided to pop in here for dinner first. It looks nothing special on the outside and pretty small on the inside. The decor is a bit tatty too but the service is polite and friendly and the food is delicious. We both enjoy our Thai food and this was good stuff at a decent price.

Found the food to be rather bland. Thai food normally full of delicious flavours. We ate in a tiny room at the rear which was very gloomy. Only saw one female waitress who was not very friendly or smiley which is most usual for a Thai person!

Having been a frequent visitor to South East Asia, I was delighted to come across this place when I moved into the area. It doesn't look much from the outside, but the food is the most authentic Thai cuisine I have had in the UK. The whole setup is unpretentious, with delicious dishes cooked fresh to order. It is also easy to eat vegetarian or vegan, with most of the mains having vegetable or tofu options. I literally cannot stop ordering from this place!

After being a customer for years and sampled most of the venue I can't do anything less than give this place 5 stars. The food is amazing, the staff very friendly and the restaurant very clean. Cannot recommend enough. I true gem of a find.

Simple, sencilla, "familia" restaurante con buena comida, precios variedad de platos y excelentes precios. Los ingredientes eran frescos, bien cocinado y servido rápidamente y con amabilidad. Única pequeña decepción fue el arroz al vapor, que era un poco bastante pesado (y - creo - no arroz jazmín). - la albahaca santo todavía salteado era uno de los mejores que he probado en mi vida, y la Tom Kha fue hecha con excelente stock (en vez de la más usual "Vamos a cubrir cualquier sabor con leche de coco y jugo de lima").

Off the beaten path, but very authentic thai food.

Just got back from the Thai yum yum and yet again the food was great. i can really recommend the tamarind duck it was superb. will definately return.

Having eaten at many Thai restaurants up and down the country, Yum Yum has to be in my top three. Always consistent and always great:) from the outside it looks like a dodgy take-away, but never judge a book, as they say.....

We ordered a take away from here this evening, we had the dim sum for starter and 2 different Thai chicken curries. The dim sum was nice, however neither of the curries were up to much. The chicken in both of them was like eating some sort of meat substitute - it didn't taste like chicken (or anything at all really) and had a bizarre soft yet rubbery texture. If we had been served this in the restaurant I would've complained. We also had coconut rice which was ok but nothing special. Disappointed as Thai is my favourite cuisine and based on the reviews thought this would be a great option - sadly not one I will be taking again any time soon.

Lovely food and the staff were very friendly. Vegetarian green curry was very tasty and I was able to request beancurd with mine - which I love. Good value and would go back.

Have been to this restaurant a number of times, with my mum initially finding a deal on Groupon a couple of years ago. Since then we've been hooked, as the food is really tasty, the staff are friendly and attentive and it's a nice atmosphere inside. Don't be fooled by the exterior, as they say 'never judge a book by its cover'. You won't be disappointed.

Having driven past for a couple of years we though we would give this place a go.Although it was a Saturday night we were the only other couple in there. I can see why the restaurant frontage wouldn't be a draw as it's very dated but inside it's warm and pleasantly decorated. The service was good and the food was first class with large portions. I highly recommend this place.

If you like Thai food, this is your place.The first time we went we thought it was a take away restaurant and we were surprised to se the two dining rooms in Thai Yum Yum. The decor is modest, but with original Thai elements that warm the place up.We tried almost the whole menu and were never disappointed.

I have eaten Thai meal for years in various restaurants. Although I will not give Thai yum yum a bad review but it's not as excellent as others I have experienced. Food was plentiful. The downside was that it was a bit greasy. Specially the mixed starters, also a bit too large the portions. Currys were OK and plentiful and sea bass also OK. But not as clean tasting as others I have experienced. Prices fair. Worth a try but not worth a 4/5 star rating when compared with my other experiences.

I have visited the Thi Yum Yum on many occasions, food is always good and well priced, great service from smiling staff and a lovely atmosphere your always made welcome.

Wow, love this place. Reasonably priced and the food tastes delicious. They do set menus too to offer more of a 'budget' meal and you get PLENTY! Would recommend the chicken and cashew nut main dish

I had wanted to try Thai Yum Yum for a long time after reading such positive reviews. So a late night, unplanned takeaway was the perfect opportunity. We ordered a few different dishes and enjoyed all of them, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I don't know if I expected too much, when I cook Thai food at home it seems to be a lot more fragrant. We did enjoy what we had and I would definitely order again.

What a fab little restaurant. Ok not the best decor but the food brilliant. Green Thai curry was the best I've had in a long time and great value for money.

From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like much I admit. Inside, the warm and welcoming Thai chef and her team produce Thai food that is drool worthy good. From the incredible freshly prepared starters to the rich curries and crispy prawns, each plate inspires oohs and ahhs from whoever I take there. Please go!!! If this place were to ever close it would be disaster.

The food here is lovely and so reasonable. It doesn't look much from the outside but don't let this put you off, it is a little hidden gem! Feels very authentic, our food was fresh and very hot. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone, we have only eaten in the restaurant so unable to comment on take away.

We used a groupon voucher here and received fantastic value for our money. More importantly the food was delicious and all served with a smile. We went early evening and we were the only customers and were able to sit through the back of the restaurant that has a lovely atmosphere about it although small. Lovely place.

I have traveled extensively through Thailand and have eaten in most of the Thai restaurants across the South East of England and I can therefore honestly say that the food at Thai Yum Yum is prepared to the highest standards and is just like being back in Chiang Mai. The service is wonderful whether you choose to eat in or takeaway. If you have never been you really should do.

Simply wonderful takeaway , freshly cooked, beautiful flavours and all for £8.05 . The restaurant inside is a little tired but set that out of your mind and the food will blow you away.

Visited here on a Friday evening, seeing other reviews saying that the place gets very busy after 7pm, we were quite surprised to see that it was not busy at all (only one other table taken). The place is small and only seats perhaps 22 people. It's not very inviting from the outside and the inside could do with a bit of a revamp. Nevertheless the service was great (from a Greek lady, who was very friendly). The food was ok, the flavours themselves were excellent, however the beef in my curry was chewy and grisly and the sticky rice was not fresh and quite hard. The Pad Thai was the best we have tasted. The portions are massive so don't order too much!!

There is no doubt that this restaurant is aptly named.I first tried it out on a brilliant value Groupon and now can't get enough of the place.The mixed sharing starters are delicious as are the massaman and yellow curries and the rice noodle soups. Take away or eat in - you cannot go wrong here.

A hidden gem. Has been through a few different guises recently, but I've had a couple of takeaway's from there recently all been excellent value and great quality.

After a nice starter, our main course arrived very quickly. I ordered the Pad Kee Moa, which is rated a 'medium'. When my dish came out, it was literally full of chilli seeds and actually hurt my mouth to eat it! The chef was lovely and happily replaced my meal, which would have been great, if I hadn't been physically ill that evening! On a plus, our waitress was wonderful.

These days one has to book in advance to ensure that Thai Yum Yum is open, but it's worth the effort.The restaurant itself is tiny, unassuming and basic. But the food is nothing short of Amazing.Other Thai restaurants such as the Rumwong & Thai Terrace (both in Guildford) are, or course, in a different league with regards to venue, ambience, scale, choice of dishes and professional service, but this little place more than holds its own when comparing the quality of the food.Yes, the choice of dishes is limited, yes the wine list is virtually non existent, yes the decor is dated, but that does not distract from the quality & value for money of the food.This is not a Big Signature Night Out destination but if you fancy an authentic, cooked from fresh ingredients & prepared to order mid-week Thai treat, try this place.If you leave your pretentions at home you will enjoy a truly remarkable culinary experience that will cost you little more than what you'd pay for the ingredients at a supermarket for you to make it yourself!

I normally have a take away from Thai Yum Yum most Fridays and have always enjoyed the food , its so tasty and great value for money but last weekend we had friends staying and we decided to eat in . The meal as always was superb , the starters were freshly prepared and nice and hot and the main of chicken mossamen was beautiful we were all remanising of our holidays in Thailand. I am so impressed with this wonderful little restaurant and would advise anybody living around the area to give it a try, you will not be disappointed.It's not the greatest interior it must be said but the excellent food and the friendly and efficient staff will more than compensate for that

After reading all the good reviews for Yum Yum. I was rather disappointed with my experience. The tables small and seats uncomfortable.I found the staff to be inefficient and not particularly friendly. The food was average and not cheap. It was all very middle of the road. Will not be returning

Well well well, what a diamond in the rough, a piece of Thailand in Addlestone! The food was authentic, the service was fantastic, the restaurant was simple and clean and the price was worth every penny. Will def go back and will spread the good word! Bloody well done!

First went here because of a deal I found on Groupon, but now go as often as possible! It's absolutely outstanding food with amazing service. The waitresses are very tentative and friendly. The food is authentic Thai made from scratch. The amazing part is, you get all that for such a modest price! Can't recommend it enough!
