Thai Royal House in Stockport

Cash in store, no card is a pain given you can order online - but they started cooking in good faith as I went to find a cash machine. Highly recommended mixed starter. Main meals very tasty. Repeat customer. Yes the price is higher than Chinese, but that’s because there a more expensive ingredients for a better flavour.

Can only speak on the chicken pad Thai as that's all I ordered, but it was pretty tasty. I thought it was a bit dear at £11 but it was a decent size serving for one person. I went into the shop to order and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. Edit to 1 star as I believe the pad thai has given me food poisoning.

Mango sticky rice was delicious, salad and wrap was good too, curry was very yummy. Sadly the pineapple rice and pad Thai was not up to expectations. It was pricey but fairly good portions. I would reorder the dessert, curry and salad.

We always use this for our Thai takeaways. The food is amazing every time and by far the best in the area. Very much recommend.

Myself and my hubby and daughter had it tonight for the first time. It was delicious. It was so fresh. We had a mixed starter every thing was lovely. Buddy and D had the oyster with beef. I had the duck noddles soup we had sticky rice. It came with in the hour and it was hot. Thank you royal tia house.

It seems a lot of the bad reviews are about the red curry. I had pork pad kra pao with fried egg and it was absolutely lovely. My Mum had a veg Pad Thai which she said was delicious too. Edit: Been again last night, absolutely delicious, similar meals. I forgot to mention previously that 2 young girls man the counter and they are incredibly polite. They are so friendly and well mannered. Lovely staff and food. Don't avoid this place because of the few low reviews, just avoid the dishes mentioned in those reviews. I've had 4 faultless meals now.

Early Friday night we walked in and ordered a massaman beef curry and red lamb curry both with rice. It was about 10/15 minutes. Our hotel was a short walk away so they were still warm. We forgot to ask but when we opened the bag they had already labelled each plastic container with the curry types. In the photo it doesn't look appetizing but they were very tasty. My wife is Thai and she gave them two thumbs up.

The portions are large but the quality is low. The red curry was gloopy and the chicken tasted really weird. I think they use less coconut milk and thicken it with cornflour (makes it cheaper to make but then it tastes awful). Ordered a soup which was ok. Both meals were overly sweet. I doubt the owners/chefs are actually Thai.

One of the best Thai takeaways I’ve had. Not sure if the bad reviews are for the same place! The food was fresh, tasty and healthy and the portion sizes are really good! I would definitely recommend this place.

As above, second to none! Fast delivery, fresh and just perfect all round. We're regulars, whenever we treat ourselves to take away but want something that doesn't feel too unhealthy this is our go-to

I ordered on justeat. The food is so nice & packaged AMAZINGLY, I couldnt believe when it arrived in the vacuum thing to ensure no spills! wow. The food was lovely & big portions of the panang curry. It also arrived 30 mins early which is amazing as I was very hungry. Very happy to have found a nice Thai place in Stockport :)

Ordered from this place but never again. Salt and pepper chicken wings were so bad and old I fed them to my dog's. How their ratings are 4 stars amazes me. Take heed don't order from them as you'll be sorry..

Amazing food, served with the freshest ingredients , an absolute authentic thai food! The service was great and portion is generous. This is hidden gem in this area..highly recommend

Sadly disappointed! My noodles ( Stodgy) as bad as Aldi Thai prepped meals... Nothing like authentic Thai food I have eaten. Can't wait until I can go back to Thailand...

Had takeaway a couple of times from here and it's been delicious both times! Prawn and mango salad and massaman curry especially good. They package things really well for delivery (cold salads separate from hot food) etc which is thoughtful.

Ordered direct from the restaurants website to support them. First time ordering from here and the food was just amazing! Very delicious, definitely going to order from Thai Royal again.

I called before ordering to check that the food options were vegetarian. I spoke to a very nice lady and she advised the curries are made with shrimp paste. Sadly we didn't order but I was happy that I had called as the lady was very honest and offered different dishes that were available as vegetarian. Sadly we didn't place an order but wanted others to know. Please note that they were very honest, I would just appreciate their website to be updated.

Food is warm, fresh, generous and tasty. However, there’s a strand of hair in our beef stir fry.

Not great at all. Fried Rice was wet. Cashew nut dish had about 8 halfs of cashews in it and meat quality was poor, veg tasted frozen etc. Pancakes were nice but the rest was very sub standard. Wouldn't recommend. Was supposed to be a nice meal for Loy Krathong but was left very disappointed.

I ordered 3 dishes, chicken, beef and fish The chicken and beef were lovely, however the Pia Manow was inedible, even the smell was awful, this went straight in the bin, I wouldn’t even trust it with my dog!!

A little late, but the driver was friendly and the food was nice. A bit disappointed by use of plastic bags, and each item individually plastic wrapped. I'm trying to reduce single-use plastics so won't order here too often.

The tom yum soups had an OK flavour, but lacked enough paste to make them a recognisable Tom yum. Jungle curry was as expected, but the penang curry was very disappointing; cornflour used instead of coconut milk to thicken the curry, obvious that poor ingredients had been used.

Amazing hot food! Pad Thai was lovely!! Really small detail however the chips came with the packaging cut on top so they wasn’t sweaty also the curry with cling film as well as lid so it didn’t leak delivery driver was lovely can’t wait to re order

Food was mixed, duck and pancakes was great. Nice quality meat and plenty of it. However other dish we had was the Pad Thai which was quite disappointing. Overly sugary and no real flavour going on. Might order again but wouldn't bother with the Pad Thai which is usually our favourite dish so...

Part of the order wasn’t correct when delivered and main dishes missing, requested a refund for the dishes which weren’t delivered. Been waiting 10 days and still no refund despite chasing this up!

Very disappointed tonight the food was cold the meal I ordered for my husband and son for a treat well it was very dry not even a tablespoon of sweet and sour sauce And the noodles were stuck in a lump, I was really embarrassed by it, very poor, my meal was cold. Very disappointed as usually I love the food from here maybe they have a different chef

Starters were much better than the mains, Sam Rod Fish was tasty. Only thing I didn’t like was the veg that was added in the mains, tasted like it was freshly defrosted. Apart from that good meal! Definitely would order from here again

Honestly THE best take away Ive ever had, and Im not even over exaggerating. It was packed really well, so no leakages or messiness. The chips were ventilated (if thats even the right word) so they didnt sweat or become all soggy. The food tasted so fresh and tasty, what Id expect from being in a restaurant, not a take away. Im not one for really leaving reviews on things, but I really felt I had to on this occasion. Already recommended to all of my family.

Food arrived early, hot and very tasty. I would use this restaurant again

Did not like the Pad Thai as flavour and it was unnecessarily acidic. Satay skewers were too salty and not enough flavour from the rest of its sauce. Chicken Teriyaki meat had a rubbery texture. The prices are quite high and the only item we were happy with was the side order of chips. Would not go again or recommend.

We must have been late on the delivery route as food was not in the best state. The noodles were one gloopy block all stuck together - inedible. Shame, as we have liked this takeaway in the past.

I’ll have to be honest here. I really wanted to like this food & to be fair the green curry was good, the massaman was ok but the pad Thai was unfortunately awful. Far far too sweet, I’m not sure if it was a mistake or whether people here like it like that, but far too sweet for me. The sticky rice for mango sticky rice was good, but the mango wasn’t even ripe so it was hard & inedible in parts. All in all a disappointing experience. What a shame.

The quality of the food was really poor. I had a massaman and my wife had a pad Thai and unfortunately both were really poor. We love Thai food but won’t be ordering from here again.

Never once been disappointed by their food. Always order the noodle dishes, & veggie starters - always delicious. They have a 5 star hygiene rating (first thing I check!) Food always on time (I mostly choose to collect myself, but delivery has always been delivered on time on the occasions I’ve chosen it). My absolute favourite take out, X

Edible, so it's ok. But in taste one of the worst Thai I had.. Every dish taste similar or is tasteless and smells like fish. I can eat it but won't order again as it's a waste of money.

Ordered a take out from Thai Royal House to be delivered on Saturday 11th April. Delivery arrived with one dish missing, so one of us had no meal! Phoned straight away. Advised I could have the meal in 40 minutes or a refund. Opted for refund of £8.50. Cost paid for meal had been taken from bank immediately. Refund not showing next day so phoned. Told it would be showing in 3-5 days. Had email from Just Eat saying refund processed Tuesday 14th. Have sent 2 emails saying I haven’t received it. No reply to either. Monday 20th, refund still not showing in bank! Disgusted!

Food was terrible. Prawn and chicken sesame toast was soggy, wet and inedible.

Food was great, Penang curry was spicy and tasty. Steamed fish was really nice too, fresh tasty and good portions. Thank you!

Ordered Easter Sunday through JUST EAT meal cold watery rang the takeaway told the delivery man would pick back up spent £28.90 , no offer of replacement meal ? told go through Just Eat for refund they only refund £20 told to ring the manager for rest he refused as he said Just Eat oil commission so if you don’t want to get ripped off & no meal DO NOT USE THAI ROYAL HOUSE 🤬😡

Chicken Satay and Gyoza were amazing! Green curry was so so good, the jumbo prawns are worth it, it’s quite spicy so definitely needed the coconut rice! Chicken Teriyaki was very sweet, not to my taste, but all in all very tasty, would definitely order again.

The food came really quickly so made me think it's not freshly cooked. My dish that was supposed to be bit spicy was so bland and watery, no flavour whatsoever. The beef was also chewy. Wouldn't order again.

The food wasn’t to bad, lots of veggies in the curry. Although very watery and it had grapes in it?! I’ve been to Thailand plenty of times and never had grapes in a curry. If I was a few pints down and I had nowhere else to order from, I’d eat there again.

Contacted just way to complain spoke to three different people who all told me to contact the restaurant who I rang twice to complete off the system so they coukd take my complaint further. The food was LATE COLD bright yellow and wouldn’t even feed my dog it. Threw it all away 45 pounds worth. I want a full refund. I was then told by both party’s to contact tomorrow. Disgusting

Food was fresh and tasty as per usual.

Service was great but the food was substandard and expensive for what it was. Plain, processed looking food and very greasy.

Unfortunately 2 of the 3 main meals we ordered were wrong. Delivery was 1 hour 15 minutes - 15 minutes longer than promised. Understandable during the current Covid-19 lockdown. There was no point in phoning as soon as we noticed the mistake, as we would probably have had to wait another hour or so for the correct order. So I tried to take this up directly with the restaurant the next day. Their website didn't show an email address and they didn't answer the phone. I then raised the issue through Just-Eat, but they couldn't help, as the order had not yet been marked as complete. (Lesson there for the restaurant.) Cost was £34.50 for 3 mains and 3 side dishes, including delivery fee and service charge.

Lovely satay chicken, not over cooked. Creamy peanut sauce. Spicy chilli wings and Pad Thai, no clumped together noodles. Fabulous X X
