I just got some chips and oh my God they are VILE greasy in my opinion being cooked a lot more than what they should have been, I will never ever go back

Only issue is it is a cash only venue, there is a cash machine next door though.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a team of incredibly friendly staff members who went above and beyond to ensure exceptional customer service. The star of the show- the fish and chips plus the curry sauce. It was truly the best fish and chips I have had in quite some time. They made the curry sauce from scratch, so can't get this taste anywhere else and it's absolutely delicious. Additionally, the shop was spotless maintaining high standards of hygiene. Overall, I highly recommend Testwood Chef for anyone seeking exceptional fish and chips plus the outstanding service!

Just move to this area and was recommended by one of the movers to try Testwood Chef for fabulous food. So nice to have fish and chips, and Chinese food in one place. My kids wanted sausages and chips, my husband wanted to try the chicken curry with Egg fried rice and I ordered 1/4 duck. Amazing food! Definitely recommend to other people. We will be back for sure.

Best Chinese in Totton!! My kids love to order the spare ribs peking style, it's sweet and a little spicy, great for all ages. My must order would be chicken Chow Mein and curry sauce, the best combo! Can't go wrong!! My wife must order chicken in lemon sauce, she went absolutely crazy during her pregnancy and she will never change, it is still her must have! Definitely our family favourite place to go! The customer service is great, we go there at least once a week, so when we roll up, they already know our usual. Too friendly and nice!

Testwood chef is a great fish and chip and Chinese food shop. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this shop if you are looking for great portions and good food.

My family and I have been a long, loyal Testwood Chef customer for over 20 years!!! I arrived early when the shop opens at 5pm, I was preparing to wait outside the shop, but the lady saw me and opened up early for me. The level of friendliness is on another level. I was the first customer of the evening and the food not only looks amazing but taste exceptional! I had to snap a few pictures!! I ordered Cod, Small Chips, Curry Sauce and Pea Fritter which felt like a bargain compared to other places I've been to. The small chips portions is huge and the price is amazing! The curry sauce is a must try and I always come back for more. The Chinese is also a must try! I normally order House Special Chow Mein, Spare Ribs Peking Style, Crispy Shredded Beef with Chilli and Carrots, it's absolutely devine! The portion size is amazing, I eat it in two days. The good thing is the container is microwavable, so put the food in the fridge and microwave it the next day it still taste gold. The best Fish&Chips and Chinese takeaway in Totton!!!

Unfortunately not a great experience, Chinese very low standard. Very little taste, burnt rice, Prawns had funny tang and really bland. Very disappointed, if I was in a restaurant would be speaking to the manager.

Loads of chips with the fish. 2x portions was more than enough for 4. Large cod too! A smile thrown in for good measure.

Popped in here for some chips for the kids and some Rice and Chow mein - all were very nice! Had a bit of a wait and also ordered a sausage for each of the kids with a portion of chips to share, but they only gave us one sausage (only realised after we had left).

The chips were amazing and the portion sizes are very good. I have been going here for years and they have never failed to provide a great service and amazing food.

Have been using testwood chef for years and it's honestly the best Chinese + fish&chips takeaway in this area. Great portion size, amazing prices and brilliant service. Everyone is so kind and lovely. And I would never forget the curry sauce! Must have with my chips!

Had a mushroom burger no offer of sauce and all burgers come with no salad. The burger was tiny and thin, mushrooms dripping in oil. My friend had a pie said not much filling in it.

The service here is always great with all orders being taken within 5 minutes of arrival. The food tasted great with the choice between Chinese and fish and chips. You sometimes have to wait longer depending on what food you order but you overall don't have to wait very long. You can only pay by cash but there is a cash machine right outside

I normally come here everytime i use to think it was the best chip shop in Totton. However when I collected tonight everything tasted oddly bad. The chips were all crunchy and seemed like they were cooked over an hour ago the saveloy and batter had a strange taste to it. I do not think I will be going here again.

We ordered the meal here to celebrate my Mum's birthday. We had sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, crispy shredded beef, Singapore chow mein, barbecue spare ribs and special fried rice. It was delicious! My mum loved it, she has always enjoyed the Chinese food here. The staff is friendly and they gave us prawn crackers on the house! Also their fish and chips is awesome too. I would highly recommend this place!!

Good, but I'd recommend Totton Fish Bar in the precinct

Not bad Chinese food but the chips are a little greasy compared to other places so much that you need a plastic bag as the paper is soaked. Update: Well done for throwing the manky chairs in the bin.
