Ternary Chinese Restaurant in Belfast

Excellent meal. They went out of their way to adapt a dish with tofu and pork so it was suitable for my vegan daughter. My husband and I had sizzling beef with black pepper and a dish which I have forgotten the name of something like Chingzhou chicken, which was deep fried in a light batter with salt and chilli. The meat was mouth wateringly tender, and the flavouring excellent. We were drawn in by the fact that all the other diners were Chinese, it was clean and well-decorated, and service was fine - we had Chinese tea, which they kept topping up with hot water so we did not have to re-order. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant - a real gem

Came to this restaurant for the first time with my family and we all enjoyed the delicious food. We came on a Monday early evening and the restaurant was packed so ensure you book beforehand. My mum ordered real Chinese food and it was so good, she ordered 6 or 7 dishes so not sure what they are called. I took a photo of the dishes so I can show the restaurant the next time I visit. They also do takeaways. My 9 year old said he would like to come back to this restaurant on his birthday lol. I would definitely be back.

Pretty slow service. Has speakers in restaurant (as they were able to play happy birthday song on for my husband while they brought out the cake) but not using, so it could be pretty quite and awkward if just couple tables in. Staff would not pick dirty/empty glasses / plates unless you ask them 3 times.... On a bright side food was really nice and prices were really good.

This place was recommend to me my order was a simple curry chip with onions chips arrived hard with little sauce and raw onion shavings over the top very poor to say the least

Good quality buffet. Has usual dishes like your sweet and sour chicken, curry and beef xo. At the minute it’s £5,50 all you can eat lunch. More expensive at tea time but they have extra dishes. I’ve tried other buffets in Belfast but this is the best

Great food, some Sichuan dishes as well.Fairly priced! I really recommend their honey sesame chicken.

Had intended to eat in the Japanese next door but it had only one table of 4 eating in while the Ternary was alive with Asian diners. A huge menu with familiar dishes but also more unusual choices including 'hot pot' dishes which would be suitable for a group to share. Waitresses were attentive and kept busy. I never visited the bathroom but the tables were certainly well cleaned between customers. Hope to visit again later in my stay here.

I was staying nearby and ended up here for dinner. I had not planned to dine here it was a last minute decision. I found a few on line reviews which were favourable so that swung it for me. On reaching the restaurant, I was a little surprised to find almost all the customers were Asian. Wasn’t what I expected in Belfast. Anyhow it made me think if the Asian community is coming for food then the quality should be OK. The food was fine. No complaints. It took a bit longer to come than expected but not enough to complain. The waitresses staff were very efficient. The inside of the restaurant could do with some redecoration so if the ambience and decor are important to your visit, then this might disappoint you. It is not as well decorated as some other Chinese restaurants. The most disappointing thing for me was the condition of the washroom. It was very grubby. More like a rough bar. Not really what is expected in a dining establishment.

A nice Chinese cuisine restaurant serving regular Chinese dishes and hotpot and BBQ too. Staff are warmly friendly and helpful. Lots of local seafood with an authentic taste not expensive.

Went with a group of colleagues. Concerned by the state of hygiene in toilets. Food took a long time to come and there was a smell of much used cooking oil. Tasted bland. 3 of our party were physically sick a few hours later.

11 of us went for Mother's day. The service was very slow and not very professional. My daughter got over charged for drinks and took over an hour to take our orders. The starters were very good but came at all different times. The mains were not great.

Last time here it was very slow,but this time much better. One problem is it is very cold as main entrance opens straight into the restaurant. I went for 2 course special under 16 pounds. Salted chilli squid was very fresh and yummy,but I picked a lot of the small chilli pieces off it. A warm plate came for main of veg curry with boiled rice. Though it was a bit slow to come. I sipped at my jasmine tea whilst waiting. Curry came with white onion,red onion,sugar snap peas,peas,broccoli,carrot and green pepper. I would have liked mushroom and sweet corn. The sauce was a warm creamy just nice spicy flavour but I think perhaps some veg was frozen as there seemed to be water content in the sauce. Still it was good. Rice just well enough cooked but a little small though. I will recommend it though. Lots of chinese people eating is a good sign.

Went here tonight, had a steamboat and bbq buffett. It was so good!! The steamboat soup was tasty. Alot of choice for meat, seafood and veg. Fresh meat and fish. Buffett comes with free dessert. Staff was very helpful, always asking if we were okey, very friendly. Left the place feel very happy. Will deff back again.

I was delighted to find a restaurant open this late, so close to my hotel. At 11.30pm, it was busy, but I had no problem finding a seat. Service was good, prices very reasonable. I had chicken satay skewers for starter, chicken in chilli and honey sauce with egg fried rice for main. Excellent house wine. The satay sauce was lovely, but the chicken skewers were too dry. I had an excuse not to finish them, as my main arrived after I'd finished just one! This was much better. Would recommend, but avoid the satay skewers!

Called in to this place on my way to the Sun Kee restaurant, I am glad i did. Everyone in the restaurant that night was Chinese. My wife and I were the only westerners in the place. There was a function of some sort, maybe that was why they were all Chinese. We were made very welcome and showen to our table. We ordered drinks which came quite quickly and shortly after a pot of Chinese tea. Things were going well apart from the restaurant being very cold. We ordered our food and waited quite a long time but it was well worth the wait. The fried rice was amazing. The sizzling fillet of beef, the vegetables, the sauce, the entire meal was the finest Chinese meal I have ever tasted. This restaurant deserves 5 stars. I have given it 4stars simply because it was cold. My wife and I will be back very soon and I certainly recommend it to anyone.
