Food was inpeccable. Very interactive experience, the chef made it extra special for my birthday and you could watch everything cooked fresh right in front of you, so you know everything was the best quality.

Been here a few times a good number of years ago now and was delighted to find the food and service was still A+, the staff make you feel very welcome the food is nothing short of amazing, still the best sushi I’ve eaten in this country absolutely delicious I would highly recommend you visit if you enjoy Japanese food.

We had such a great time at this restaurant the staff were so friendly and service was really quick. The sushi was phenomenal and well worth the money. They refused to honour my husbands gourmet card despite telling me they would when I rang up to check ...was Told I could only have a discount on certain items on arrival even through the gourmet website says 25 percent cent off total bill we spent ,£154 for three of us .Have rang numerous times to try and resolve this each time I was promised by Marco he would ring me back it never happened I had to ring him l am extremely unhappy with the whole situation

The chefs are extremely talented and friendly, the food is amazing and the overall vibe is fantastic. I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area and want a fun dining experience. Just make sure you're not in a rush as they cook the food there and then, which is part of the experience.

Just visited for the first time with my daughter. A flying visit but the food was delicious, staff welcoming and friendly and the place was well set out. Highly recommended and will be back

Great entertainment! The kids loved it. We got the 5 course set menu, what the chef cooked it in front of us. He really did steal the show, we were completely entertained from start to finish! Good was ok but nothing to shout about. We went with a Groupon voucher for 4 of us, I'm not sure if that meant we got smaller portions but I was expecting to come out stuffed, unfortunately that wasn't the case. Wouldn't pay full price for what we got, but as I say, the entertainment totally made up for it. If you want to go somewhere to let the kids entertained, this is your place

We would not come back. One person's main was brought with everyone else’s starters, the cocktails were not made fresh but pre-made and the ramen was grainy and the bok choy overcooked. The sushi and tempura were OK but the ramen was terrible. The place is dark, loud, smokey and has a restaurant chain feel. No one cleared any plates when the main came so we had to stack the plates ourselves and put them to one side. A 10% service charge was added without informing and we asked for it to be removed and the waitress asked why, then just walked away and came back with it removed. We told the waitress the food and service wasn’t good and they didn’t say anything. After we went for pizza at Rudy’s down the road for food as was hungry and it was excellent, I’d advise people to just go there. ***NOTE*** If the service charge is not clearly displayed as compulsory on the menu or signs say in the window (it isn’t in this restaurant) then it is optional and you can freely remove it from the bill whether or not you receive good service.

We was gifted the 5 course teppanyaki that we decided to use for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We have been to Wasabi a few times before and it has always been gorgeous! Our waitress Izzy and Chef Michael were both fantastic! Friendly, fantastic service and the food was unreal as always! A fabulous experience and nice to be child free for a couple of hours! Thank you so much, we will definitely be visiting again soon!

We had a fabulous afternoon. Food was delicious and the chef was very entertaining. We had the set menu and it was plentiful. The fillet steak was cooked in front of us and was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The chef is very skilled and his humour is just right, entertaining but not intrusive. The restaurant is beautiful, spotlessly clean and stylish and we had excellent service from our server Izzy. Would not hesitate to recommend, will definitely go back 🍜 🍻 🥂

We went as a party of 3 and had the the prawn starters which are very nice and then I had the Ramen Tonkotsu and my wife and son the Katsu Curry, Issue I had was the picture shows an egg as does the menu, no egg, also the picture shows 4 large slices of Char su Pork but this had small pieces which probably amounted to half the size in the picture which made the meal just OK not outstanding as it could have been, my other issue was the 10% charge on the bill for service? they brought us 6 plates in total which seems a lot on top for minor service, nice meal but let down by the missing and smaller items but cost us £100

Great experience here. Group of 16 all at a Teppan area. Fantastic chef cooking fresh quality food whilst creating an amazing atmosphere and keeping all 16 entertained at the same time. Will definitely be back, highly recommend

Enjoyed a very entertaining and delicious Teppanyaki with my partner. Tons of food for the price - you won't go hungry. Really enjoyed the collective experience around the Teppanyaki grill! Will look forward to visiting again Friendly service too. Hope this place does well as it wasn't too busy when we went (but it was a Wednesday, to be fair). The lack of diners did not impact our positive experience though! My only tip (which definitely wasn't worth removing a review "star"): if you order the Teppanyaki salmon, it's so easily overdone on that very hot plate - maybe tell your kind chef in advance if you want it *very* lightly done, as I would do in future.

Check your bill!!! went on Saturday for the retirement of a colleague - whilst the cooking experience at the table and the quality of the food was lovely , extra sides were ordered that never came but were put on the bill - one member of the party asked for their portion of the bill to be told by a miserable waitress that the cos of a £30 set meal.plus a pint and a half of Japanese larger came to £59.20! no apology just 'ill get it re-done' no excuse really as the restaurant wasnt that busy

We arrived at 5.30 to an empty restaurant. Decor is very pleasant and spotlessly clean. The service was super quick. The chef arrived a couple of minutes after we put our order in. It was fascinating watching the chef cooking the food right in front of us, from start to plating up was literally 10 minutes. We opted for fillet steak which was absolutely delicious, so tender it melted in the mouth. There was soft music playing in the background so the ambience was spot on. Good atmosphere for dinner if you can filter out the super hi tone chanting around the teppanyaki grill. Make sure you don't order any of those Sushi sharing platters, they are nothing like others sushi rolls on the menu. A collection of dull sushi options that was dissapointing. Service is sluggish and we have been faced with a waitress that has no training at all and had to go and ask another in multiple trips while the experienced one didn't bother to come talk to us. Service charges a compulsory surprise. Never again

Food too fatty. This is supposed to be a healthy way of cooking. The chef is nice but the staff are so uninterested, as if they are being forced to be there. There is no atmosphere. And food overpriced hugely for what is on offer. There are far better teppanyaki restaurants around.

We've been several times and it's always excellent however this weekend was extra special, we went for an early lunch with my Farther in law , nephew and 1 year old daughter . The host was friendly and helpful but the chef was absolutely incredible he went above and beyond to keep my 1 year old fed and engaged while waiting for our dinner , making her little extra snacks from the griddle. I've never seen her eat so much and she was so engaged it made for a a brilliant experience. The rest of the family loved their meals and my nephew thought getting up to play the ' egg putting ' gsme with the chef was brilliant. Just a lovely family meal around. Thankyou to our wonderful chef and host .

waiting for service 15 minutes, waiting for the dish 40 minutes. 4 people, each received a separate meal and each ate alone. A small meal of poor quality at a high price. Service charge added to the bill without informing the customer. It was definitely my last time

I hear that this place is always highly regarded as a great place to eat. My opinion is its. It that great. Its OK. I think it is extremely over priced for what I had to eat. I will not be going back. Limited menus as well for people with food intolerance and they will jkt change the menu or change anything to help. I had a rubbish time to be honest whe I was really looking glforward to it. The general staff were excellent I may add but the manager just simply would not respect my personal circumstances... he was a nice guy but does need to think about catering for customers better. ... I wish the place all the very best and please go and make you own mind up. But it's not for me.

Dinner time, ordered Tonkotsu Char Siu Pork Ramen, Japanese Chicken Katsu Curry, some sashimi and a 20 pieces Omakase Sharing Platter. The pork in the Ramen are great but the soup and noodles need to be improved, same as the curry, expected to be better. Sashimi and sushi platters are quite good though. Next time may try to order teppanyaki, looks good!

Nice little Teppanyaki restaurant. Food was excellent, the chef was friendly and and the host was lovely, providing great service. It was very quiet when we went (probably due to very bad weather). Prices were reasonable and the cocktails were nice. I would go again.

I visited the restaurant with my partner back at the start of July. The staff were very friendly, willing to talk and generally helpful and informative when we asked questions about the food or ingredients. The chef came to the table to cook on the hot plate, which was very entertaining and fun to watch how the food is cooked. The sushi was lovely and I can't wait to go back to try more.

We had a great experience sitting at the Tappan grill, we sat with two other couples with a space in between each. We ordered the 20 piece sharing platter to start which was very good. One set meal and one tappenyaki dish, this was a good amount of food for us, it might be to much for some if you eat all of the vegetables. The chef cooking right in front of you is entertaining, interactive and for us was good fun, all 3 couples were enjoying the meal (FYI we didn't know each other). The sushi on the shared platter was of good quality for sure, if you wanted to sit at a table ie not the tappen grill, you could, well we could happily go in for just sushi and leave very happy. We'll happily return for another meal there. Many thanks to the team 👌

This was my first time having the Tepenyaki experience, and I loved it. We had the set menu which was delicious. Whilst having our starters the chef came out and cooked our main course in front of us. He was tossing an egg around with a knife and spatula without cracking it and culminating with him catching the egg in his hat. Very showmanny

Teppanyaki is always an entertaining treat. This place is brilliant and would highly recommended.

With a Groupon offer we visited here 2,/9/23. The staff where excellent, attentive and well mannered, the atmosphere was happy and the whole place was very clean and tidy. Starters where delivered to the table ready to eat, followed by a chef who arrived with all the raw ingredients for the main course. The chef prepared the meal in front of us, happy to entertain with humour and egg juggling. When cooking finished the chef left for us to eat. Dessert was delivered shortly after we finished the main course. Although a novel experience, the food was not particularly special, my local takeaway does nicer food. Would be good for a large party, but alas we will not be dining here again.

Visited tonight for my fiancé's birthday and we had a great time! Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and drinks and couldn't fault the service! Despite it being a quiet night the atmosphere was lovely. We had a voucher and didn't book it the right way but they quickly resolved this for us and didn't make us feel like they'd been put out at all. We would love to go back with a group of friends :)

Great experience and food was amazing

Food was fabulous. The best staff who totally made the night. Lots of fun - shots, mocktails (teehee) cocktails and cake! Would recommend to everyone wanting a fun night for a special occasion or just a fab night out!

The food is consistently fantastic and the quality of ingredients used are superb. The steak melts in your mouth. The staff have incredibly attentive customer service and the manger goes above and beyond. The deals available are of great value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Love this place. Great for little get togethers when you absolutely have to all crowd round the grill while the chef sets the place ablaze. Really nice vibe and service here too. Kids made very welcome.

Nice place and sushi were very tasty. Only thing waiter forgot to put my order in and once my friend got hers I had to wait another 10min for my sushi, but they did bring us complementary soup for the wait, that was a nice gesture. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

We love squids but not here. Don't order teppanyaki squids...it got weird taste and texture. It said 10% service charge apply for group of 6 or more but we only 4persons and they charged us 10% extra!

Amazing experience and food. We originally sat at a normal table but once we had ordered we were offered a seat at a live cooking table and the chef came and performed for the two of us. He was a fantastic character and the food was fabulous. The front of house/waiter was brilliant too. He couldn't do enough for us and made sure everything was perfect. The restaurant wasn't busy but it was a Monday night and we arrived very late but the atmosphere was still great. We will definitely be back!

Pretty disappointed with the experience. Been sat here for 2 hours and still not had our main meals. It's obvious that they've over booked and then this is putting too much pressure on the staff.

Expensive processed stuff, I had the giant sumo sushi expecting it was good but instead it was small and costed me £60, one of the staff was friends with this red haired girl who had a ring on her nose and they were talking in the middle of giving my food, I don’t know what that waitress did to my water, but it seemed like the emo girl told the waitress to spit in my water, I saw her put the water up to her face, I also got the gyoza for starters, it was a bit bland and probably came from a gyoza pack that was from a store that sold it for cheaper they sold it, I asked a different waitress to get me 2 spoons for the katsu curry I got, as she was bringing me the 2 spoons, she took 10 minutes to talk to somebody in a business suit (I think it was the manager) the rice was cold too, I had to ask if they had cleaner plates because a piece of tissue was stuck to my plate, the cups had black stains and the tea was just hot water with Aldi tea bags, overall the service was terrible, the food was overpriced, bland, small, and was very unhygienic

First time we had dined at Wasabi Stockton Heath. The experience was great. The waiter helped us to choose what to eat and his choice was 1st class. The experience of having the food cook in front of us excellent. Well done Wasabi for making my wife's birthday special.

Always an amazing evening when we go to wasabi, staff are so friendly and welcoming. Food is also amazing every single time ☝️👍 a fun and enjoyable evening for all. My kids love it here especially Michael one of the chefs that makes us belly laugh and gets the kids involved in games with him. Thankyou wasabi always a pleasure . X

Table of 4. Parents shared a sushi platter and loved it. We had katsu curry, spring rolls and salmon and rice. It was all really food and good portions too. Main came fast but we waited 40+ mins for starters. Service was good, no j2o's or koppaburgs but had beer, malibu etc. My dad is hard of hearing and the teppanyaki display can be very loud even when not sat at that station. Would definitely go again.

This was our first time here, but not our first teppen-yaki experience. From the moment we arrived Jason was the perfect host explaining the menu and taking into account my wife's dietary requirements. We ordered the fish and meat set menu. When the chef arrived the entertainment began, and what a showman as well as cooking the food he kept us entertained throughout our dining experience, he even asked how we would like the steak and lamb cooked. This won't be our last visit. Highly recommend.

We went here for the first time in a group of 6. Everyone really enjoyed their food, the chef was fab. I would definitely recommend and return in future.

Eating out as a group for a family occasion requires significant expense these days and needs to meet high expectations accordingly. This felt very cut back on everything other than the cost to the customer. Teppanyaki was rushed and plain, no-frills veg, small amount of egg some garlic and very little other seasoning. The egg was literally hurled at us in big chunks with a velocity which meant it was only ever going to land on clothes, hair and the floor. Either the chef had no skill at this or deliberately entertained himself in this way and it felt very much like the latter. I'm not sure why, we had not complained about anything by this point, despite being sat hungry at the table waiting for this chef for probably an hour. Then there was the meat and fish portion. We had a 12 year old boy with us who ordered a £40 dish, eat the lot and was still hungry. I could have easily eaten two portions personally. We also had Katsu, which tasted very much of Golden Dragon stock cubes. Oh and despite there being plenty of service staff we all felt aggrieved by a 10% service charge which is unusual for us and says alot. There was one occasion were I was trying to get a drink, there was at least 5 staff stood at the bar, I was looking straight at them waving my arm in the air for several minutes, they just seemed to look straight through me whilst they had a little natter amongst themselves. There was eight of us in the group, we asked for toothpicks they brought us two. We ordered 3 coffees one of them was cold upon arrival none were hot, presumably they'd been sat around for a while. These are all small petty things individually, but when combined together create a result sufficient enough to warrant leaving feedback, which I truly don't often do. I do so now not for my pleasure or to have a moan but to raise a red flag to the management. The days of taking customers for granted have passed and long-term survival is worth much more than a quick buck. But it's for you to consider this and determine the appropriate action. Maybe we visited on a bad night or I'm alone in this view. I leave it with you to determine that and hope to see you again in the future and be willing on that occasion to be more flattering, as we do generally enjoy Japanese cuisine and would prefer for there to be more restaurants not less.

Always an amazing and entertaining experience!

Had a meal here with 1 other person. We bought vouchers which can be found on Groupon. The food that we got was tasty but definitely over expensive but I suppose that is to be expected. We paid about £20 each for the vouchers and the meal still came to nearly £50. So in total you're looking at £90 for 2 people to have a drink, a starter, main, and dessert. Aside from that, the food tasted fresh and the staff were nice.
