For the price of the food it was very very very average. Absolutely nothing special, very basic, food and drinks were overpriced, not a lot of choice from the menu.

Ate here with friends last weekend for a change. When we arrived the place was almost empty at peak time on a Saturday nite. Waiting staff were pleasant and took our order fairly quickly. Starters arrived and were very tasty. I ordered the Caesar salad and it was lovely apart from the mass of black olives mixed through it. The biggest disappointment came with the main course and things went downhill from there. All ordered steaks and I asked for mine cooked medium. They arrived and we studied the rare presentation. Served with mushrooms and onions its not the normal sautéed variety and steak was sitting in the most vile tasting brown sludge resembling purdy pudding and reaked of cinnamon. I cut into the steak to discover it was raw and stone cold inside. Unimpressed I sent it back and asked for my steak medium again. After a few minutes the waitress returned with my steak and a new portion of chips which was very kind. Again I cut into the middle of the steak and surprise surprise it was also raw and cold. At this stage I got fed up and ate the chips and peppered sauce. I didn't want to send it back again but my husband insisted it be sent back and cooked properly seeing as we were paying for it. The waitress apologised again and took the plate away to the kitchen. Literally 2 mins later she returned and I knew it couldn't have been cooked. When I turned it over it had literally been thrown onto the grill and browned over. It had the most horrible taste. Didn't even try the desert as I just wanted to go home. So disappointing for a "steakhouse". Won't be returning.

enjoyed an early tea... lovely supreme of chicken on mash but desserts were disappointing... apple crumble had broken biscuits on top instead of crumble, and surprise cheesecake base tasted like lots of flavours of biscuit bits from the bottom of a biscuit tin, and very sweet topping was a mix up of different chocolates left over... maybe a poor attempt by a broke student, not what I would expect from a restaurant :(

My family and I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago. We used to eat at it when it was under the old management and we missed it when it was closed so we decided to try it under the new management. However, we were disappointed. The menu is ok, not very extensive. The main courses were quite small for the price. Service was slow, and it wasn't as if the place was packed out. We waited 15 minutes for pudding, which was a chocolate brownie. I was not as full as I usually am when I have been out for a meal. The price plus the small portions left us very disappointed. It will be Valentine's Day soon, but with the price and more importantly the small amount of food, we won't be returning for a while. Giving less food has definitely done the management harm as they have lost customers in us, who used to visit regularly.

While rambling along the back roads we asked a couple of gents walking their dogs for a restaurant recommendation. The place doesn't look like much from the outside and I am glad that we decided to give it a go. We enjoyed a great dinner for 2 including dessert & coffee for only 36 pounds as they have a great special on Sundays after 4pm. I had the Italian "pork stack" which came in the form of three breaded pork cutlets that were juicy & flavorful in a sundried tomato cream sauce. My dessert of banana cake with warm toffee sauce & ice icecream which was moist & delicious.

Visited here last weekend with a party of 5 and was disappointed. Service was friendly, food was very average and restaurant was let down by poor attention to detail. For example. My food arrived on a greasy plate – very off-putting. Water jug was very badly chipped. It was a big heavy duty jug and looked like it had been kicked down the street. I had to return my coffee as the cup arrived with lipstick from previous diner – again not good! Service was friendly but a little unprofessional – reaching across tales, and leaving plates uncleared for far too long. Food was ok, but nothing special. None of this is terrible, but given the process charged (not cheap with main courses around £16) it’s very disappointing and I wouldn't be returning to spend my hard earned cash. I’ve had much better pub lunches at £10 less for a main.

Ok so it has been almost a week and im still in shock. Booked 10square for my mum and dads 25th anniversary. The deal i got was that i paid £100 deposit, getting it back on the night as long as there was no damage done, no drink smuggled in and that there were 60 adults. Party was a roaring success, mum and dad and all the guests had a ball but when i tried to get the deposit back, i was very rudely told no! To save any arguments on the night i said id go back in the morning but when i did, i was shocked at the lack of professionalism, respect and lack of any manners had by one of the managers. He swore, shouted and argued that there werent 60 adults there and that i didnt have the aforementioned deal!! I counted out 58 adults, 2members of the band and 10 children, 5 of whom were over 12, considered as adults in the restaurant in the 'kids eat free' deal. I have tried to reason with the so called manager, but have, on several occasions, been spoken to like a piece of dirt. I urge anyone that wants to book ten square for a party to reconsider. As i say, everything went smoothly on the night but the cheek, arrogance and ignorance of Johnny Mclaughlin makes my blood boil!! I, for one will never set foot back in the place!!

I know I am partly to blame for this as I hadn't booked, but on our way to Donegal on Friday we decided to stop at 10 Square as we had heard so much about it, it was 4.55pm and it wasn't opened so we decided to wait until 5pm until it did. However a man came out to tell us that they were fully booked and had no tables available, I work in the resturant industry and have never seen anywhere booked out at this specific time. At this point there was absoutely no one in the place and I'm sure they could of 'squeezed' us in. As I said maybe we should have booked but I would have seen through it if the place had of been packed, so for this reason I don't think I will return.

I gave this place three visits, allowing it time to find its feet and I really, really wanted it to be good. God knows, there are few enough reasonable eateries about. What was good about today's Ten Square experience? The room temperature was fine, it was well lit and ventilated, chairs were comfortable, service was reasonably speedy and yes, that's it! I would have been able to overlook the wobbly table, waitresses who offered little information about the menu, dropped plates and cutlery and served soup without noticing I didn't have a spoon. I might even have forgiven the complete lack of toilet roll, soap and towels in the ladies if the food had been well-cooked, neatly presented and tasty. We had miserly portions of poorly imagined, indifferently seasoned and even, with the stuffed potato skins, burnt offerings. The seafood pasta looked lost in the bottom of the plate, we wondered had they run out of linguine, and the accompanying salad was a shredded concoction of all that could be found at the bottom of the fridge. Just a few fresh torn leaves, please – is that too much to ask? Sides rely heavily upon the potato and the deep fat fryer. Garlic potatoes are cube-shaped chips that may have had some garlic salt thrown over; don’t expect baby boiled drenched in buttery, garlicky loveliness. The unforgivable sin was soggy, tasteless mixed veg that a school dinner lady would have been ashamed to serve. There are better transport cafes; don’t waste money on this overpriced, pretentious fodder.

Before going to Ten Square I decided to check out Tripadvisor and the reviews were mixed...so I was a bit apprehensive about the evening. We landed in at 6.30 so that we could take advantage of the free soup and dessert with every main course offer (before 7) and it seems that the majority of customers had the same idea. We all had the soup with a choice of homemade breads, followed by a good choice of mains with extra side (I had the 10oz ribeye. pepper sauce, with bacon and herb saute potatoes....I also robbed one of my dads onion rings and some carammelised onion mash). The staff were all hands to the deck but they coped well and were very friendly. 3 course dinner for 5 with 2 bottles of wine and one pint was just under £90 (i think there is 25% off the final food bill during the week). The welcome was friendly and we were led to a nice table. We did have to book ahead some time as the restaurant was full up until about 8pm. We were warned that the wooden floor was very slippery and it certainly was, I suspect the wrong type of polish was applied. The atmosphere is quite relaxing and pleasant with appropriate lighting for an evening meal. We had two steaks, two salmon steaks (one Thai and one plain) and one chicken dish, all said they enjoyed their main course. The choice of desserts was quite small and only one of us was tempted ( just trio of ice-creams). Our waitress was especially friendly and helpful. All in all we enjoyed our meal. It's not the greatest meal you will ever have but it certainly won't be one of the worst. There is not a vast choice in NTS and so I think this factor alone will keep Ten Square afloat.

The restaurant was really busy however the staff where very attentive and we were seated within 10 minutes with our drinks already ordered. We started with the deep fried brie and ginger and chili prawns both of which were delicious. For main we ordered the fillet steak (medium rare) with whiskey sauce and breast of duck. Both meals were cooked to perfection, especially the duck which was served pink and juicy and we finished with 2 freshly made coffees. When we went to pay the bill we were surprised to find that an extra 25% was taken off the bill, and overall the staff were very friendly, helpful but unobtrusive.

Menu isn't hugely inspiring but the food was very tasty and cooked perfectly. I had chicken supreme with onion mash and fellow diners had steaks and Louisiana chicken. My husband's elderly grandmother didn't fancy anything on the menu as she is a plain eater but the waitress asked the chef to do her to do her a plain salmon fillet with veg....which was no trouble. Found the menu pricey. Mains were on average c.£15, although one side order is included with each main. Extra sides £2.95 each and extra portions of sauce also £2.95. Desserts not unusual either - standard cheesecake, banoffe etc. but all nice. A trio of icecream cost £5 however, which is a bit much for any establishment. Staff very pleasant, attentive and professional. At the moment the deal is 25% off food bill. Nice to see places who do not do carvery for Sunday lunch. Myself, husband and mother in law booked for 12.30. When we arrived the front door was still locked but able to get in via the side door. We were the first to arrive and the heating had not yet been turned on. The staff were friendly and led us to our table to take a pre lunch drinks order. The heating was promptly switched on. We were given our menus and a short time later our order was taken. Very good value @ £13.95 for 2 courses. I opted for garlic mushrooms with a garlic sauce/ garlic toast and roast beef for main. You have the option of what type of potato each of you want. A bowl of mixed veg came with ours. My husband also ordered sweet. They give discount of 25%.For the 3 of us with sherry/ tia maria/soft drink and a full bottle of rose wine with 3 lunches cost us only a few pence over £50.00Nice atmosphere and good staff, along with nice food means we will be back.Only negative was arriving as if we were not expected ( we booked for an early lunch)- lights not on, front door closed and no heating on, but i am sure that can easily be fixed for people arriving early next Sunday.

It most definitely lived up to expectations - I couldn't fault a thing. To start I had the chefs platter which was a delicious trio of tasty nibbles, followed by soup which was very 'hearty'. For main I had chicken with garlic and bacon cream (having read the reviews below I can see where the mix up was, the bacon was already in the garlic cream). Dessert just topped the meal off. To mark the new year, we decided to abandon cooking for New Years Day and treat ourselves to a meal at the infamous Ten Square restaurant in Newtownstewart. We found it practically impossible to book in advance ; or find a menu on the internet - no website - before our visit. Luckily the menu was simple and quite plain, so there wasn’t much deliberation about our selection. The restaurant looked clean and tidy and atmospherically decorated. The soup arrived watered down to within a drop of its life. Totally tasteless and could be taken with a straw. A very thin straw. I hoped that things may change with the main course and I’m pleased to say that the main meal was quite tasty, although perhaps the side orders were a little on the cold side.It occurred to me half way through my meal, that I should have been served garlic cream, as per the menu. Instead I was served gravy. Too hungry to complain, I decided to raise the issue with the waiter whilst he cleared the table. He pointed out that because I had asked for the chicken to be served without the bacon, I had got gravy instead of garlic sauce. I stared at him quite startled. (I like to be in control about what I’m going to eat.) I thought it a lame excuse, as I felt that clearly there had been some sort of error. After being asked three times by three different waiters, what our choice of dessert was, we had to wait a further ten minutes, for it to arrive. Thankfully, it was also delicious.Overall, I could not recommend this restaurant. Whilst the food was certainly tasty, the service was poor, side orders cold and quite frankly, the meal was not as described. The staff could benefit from a personality transplant too. I would hate to see other people go to this restaurant and have the same experience.

Four of us went to this restaurant not knowing what to expect. We had booked a table for 7pm and were quickly shown to our table. The owner took our food and drinks order and provided knowledgeable advice about the menu. We were eating our meal within 20 - 25 minutes, which was excellent considering there were two large Christmas parties. The food was excellent - the only minor fault was the side orders could have been a little hotter for me and the vegetables could have been cooked for a few more minutes. However this is a very small criticism and didn't spoil our enjoyment. We will definitely be back; maybe on New Year's Eve when they are serving a 5 course gourmet meal at a very competitive price. If travelling from Dublin to Derry / Donegal, you should call here. Its on the Main Street, in Newtownstewart with ample parking on the street.

There were many vegetables to choose from and then the two cocktail sausages and the Yorkshire pudding to top it all.off. the the choice of desserts and tea and coffee to top it all off. The staff were very friendly and the fact that it was out first time to eat in there, we will be back next week. Extremely good value for money.
