It was Lovley and staff were lovely would recommend just wish the soup bowl was bigger I felt it was rather small x

Warm welcome, excellent and friendly service. Food very tasty. Dog friendly, even gave our wee dog some meat. Throughly recommend, but advisable to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Fantastic place! Truly tasty food with friendly helpful staff in a scenic location. We stopped here with our dog for brunch and got pampered, treat's for dog and warm service for us. The food was great quality. Highly recommended for a lazy morning or lunch.

Lovely cosy cafe only a few minutes off the M73 but feels like you are miles away. Woodburner, very dog friendly and we only had coffee and scones but they were very tasty. Staff were lovely and very welcoming to us and our dog.

Beautiful setting, top-notch food, and service that goes way above and beyond. We had a family emergency during our visit and the proprietors not only made phone calls for us but also administered essential first aid. The toasties are out of this world and the meringues to die for. Highly recommended.

This place is a hidden gem but well worth visiting. Book in advance cause just turning up at peak times may result in a bit of a wait. However, it is worth the wait if you have to. Today was lunch. I had a chicken and rice soup and a ham, chilli jam and mozzarella panini combo. It was a good as it looks. I followed this with THE best strawberry tart I think I’ve ever had and a pot of Earl Grey tea. It was very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Staff are attentive and friendly and the service is excellent. Families and dogs are welcome and the setting is beautiful. If you get the good weather like we did then you’re going to feel like you’re dining in paradise.

I've loved this little place on previous occasions but this time I thought the standard had dropped. Waited a while to be served, not because they were busy but the waitress kept walking past our table. (I suspect she was new). Waited overly long after ordering . Soup was Luke warm. A bit disappointed overall.

Unfortunately disappointed, got reprimanded for not booking despite trying to call all morning (as their Facebook page advises) and a table being immediately available anyway. If you want to book I'd try days in advance as they advised they only listen to messages at the end of the day. Waited 20 minutes to have order taken, then 30 mins for food to come out and it wasn't the right order, they did offer to remake and we waited a bit more but eventually gave up as at this point we'd been there an hour (we only ordered a toastie and a bagel). I'd normally be fine with this as it was fairly busy but other tables that came in long after us had orders taken and were served before us. Was really hopeful for this place due to great reviews online. However one waitress was lovely to my dog and gave her some chicken which was nice.

A lovely traditional tea room. Food is lovely and staff are warm and welcoming. Made a big fuss of my dog and kindly gave him some chicken. A lovely tearoom which I’m very glad to have found.

Tasty sandwiches and the staff is very polite to dogs. You can tell the dogs are not only allowed but truly welcome here.

I loved it - it was the first time ever there! But I was so happy to be there with my other Auntie and with my dog. They are dog lovers and it is gorgeous also a little shop with beautiful plants next to it! It was a beautiful time! Thank you so much for the service - also if we needed to wait - whatever - because first of all great food and really nice service! And the dog food :-) great - she didnt needed to it anything that day anymore :-) thank you a lot !

Every time I go to Tea House on the Loch there is always a very warm welcome from all the staff. And no matter what you order it tastes wonderful 😊

A great little find, Not over priced with lovely service from the staff and fabulous food. Very dog friendly to well behaved animals. Highly recommend a visit if you find yourself in the area.

This was a nice surprise never been before and decided last minute to go. We were lucky to get a table as they were mostly reserved . While we were there was a few people turned away as they were no tables

It was a lovely morning with some friends. We called a week before and booked our table. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Afterwards we went to wee garden centre and the loch in grounds. Very peaceful.

Simply a hidden haven the tea romm is amazing with very helpful staff we will be back .

Lovely loch view , very friendly staff, quick service. Only comment is that the bacon roll only had two slices of bacon otherwise a pleasant experience. Will visit again in near future. Parking is a bit restricted when busy.

The menu could do with being bigger but otherwise great!

First time visiting, delicious is all I can say and the best lemon drizzle cake I've had, will definitely be back.

Had my parents 60th diamond wedding anniversary here. Was an amazing day with an absolutely beautiful afternoon tea. All our family and friends were raving about the food and hospitality. The management and staff couldn't do enough for us. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Lovely setting, great staff, superb food and always a warm welcome for our two dogs, Wallace and Gus. All the food here is good but the haggis with plum chutney on sourdough toast is AMAZING! Highly recommended and reasonably priced too. Soup and sandwich deals are excellent and the breakfast options are worthy of further investigation!

This cafe is usually booked all the time however one afternoon we swung by to see if we could get in and it was quiet.The waitress said we had just missed the biz. My mum is disabled with a walker so I made sure a table was available before l left the car. We were only having coffee but mum had a raspberry tart made especially for her with real fruit which she said was delicious. The menu for main meals is quite small but sounds lovely. The staff seemed friendly and helpful.Our window looked over a balcony which has tables in the summer overlooking Johnstone Loch which is a lovely view. This is a wooden building with a country feeling in Gartcosh.We enjoyed our visit.

Top marks - will visit again . Highly recommended.

Arrived without having made a booking and it was quite busy. There were 5 in our group and we were asked if we were willing to wait ten minutes which was fine for us given how busy it was. We got a table in the ten minutes and so glad we did. The food was amazing and I would highly recommend others to visit. We were served by Sandra who made sure we were happy throughout our time there and also kept us updated during the time we waited. Excellent value for money. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Found this beautiful place on the loch. Meeting point to have tea and lunch with my daughters, girlfriend, brother and his wife. Gorgeous scenery. Then we walked in, looking for a table for 6. It was like I was asking someone to move a mountain, the attitude was ridiculous. The place was half empty I don’t know why they couldn’t move a table to accommodate us. Felt I disturbed them or something. Very very disappointed, I know this is not the Scottish hospitality but absolutely awful. Made me feel embarrassed especially with myself, kids and girlfriend traveling from North Carolina.

Absolutely loved our afternoon tea, first time here and was very impressed with both the food and customer service. Very dog friendly and my dog was even given her own plate of chicken. Will definitely be back.

Arrived on Sunday morning not booked in but managed to get a table .Scottish breakfast was fab and the staff were super friendly and fast . Well worth five stars We will be returning for lunch or cake or both on our next visit Sylvie and Pauline

Had an excellent afternoon tea with plenty of choice and loads to eat. Good quality and value for money! It was our first visit and won't be our last. All staff were fab and went out of their way to help us, especially Sandra and her fab hospitality.

My sisters booked this fabulous tea house for our lunch to get together as I was up in Scotland to see them. As we arrived we all received a lovely warm welcome. Got our table near a great log burner. The place was so lovely inside and spotless throughout. We had the full Afternoon tea. We started with delicious homemade lentil soup . Followed by our choice of sandwiches. A great selection. Yummy bloomer bread. Followed by a choice of cake and scones with clotted cream & jams with tea. We all agreed the food was exceptional. Extremely tasty and very delicious. Denise our server we cannot thank her enough as her service was just superb. The place was extremely busy and she handled this with such professionalism and ease. So a huge thank you to Denise and her great team for such a beautiful lunch in such a fantastic setting. You truly must visit this beautiful place . Thank you all for a very enjoyable afternoon.

Called in today for a wee impromptu birthday tea they were so busy and you do need to book but the waitress Sandra went out of her way to get us a table for me and my friend.. lunch was delicious and best service I have had in long while .. forty fanfare’s for you and the staff xx will definitely be back and spread the word 👏👏👏

Lovely wee cafe, ideal for breakfasts and tea. Very friendly colleagues and welcoming to pets and families. Whilst they accept card payments, a more professional menu, website and table booking service would be helpful in the future.

Been going here for years but today was a disappointment. Took too long to be told no chocolate dpread as on menu, too long fir sandwiches and soup. Sandwiches were a mess, looked as if bread cut with blunt knife. Solud dcone and 2 tiny bits of cake.

Food really good. Coffee excellent and consistently so over quite a few visits. Unusual as many places I find can’t sustain the quality of their coffee consistently. Staff very friendly. Quite small. Would recommend booking if you you really need to be there at a particular time. Lovely views over the loch.

When we arrived we were told they needed the table back in an hour. 45mins later we were reminded they needed the table back in 10 mins. The cafe was quiet enough but may have had a lot of bookings for lunch. However this was our first experience of this cafe and while the food was good enough we felt the member of staff’s manner and attitude could have been much nicer. Our first and last visit as we wouldn’t go back.

Great asset to Gartcosh and the local area out at the Johnston loch..the tea house afternoon tea , soup, sandwiches great view very peaceful and popular..the log cabin can be utilised and rented out for functions and yoga classes.

Absolutely gorgeous little tea room. Very good atmosphere, our table was right next to the wood stove so I was lovely and toasty. Service was excellent, Sandra was really good and let us know the sandwich and cake options clearly. We had the deluxe option - soup, sandwich, scone with jam and clotted cream plus a cake of your choice and a coffee. At a very good price too! Soup was hot not just warm as some places serve it, I had the lentil and it was so tasty! Will definitely be returning

What a fantastic wee hidden gem! Took my dog (and partner!) for a spot of brunch and it was fab, my pup was treated like a wee princess from the minute we stepped in the door, the food was lovely and very reasonably priced and the cakes were delicious! Staff were incredibly friendly, the views are stunning…we had a lovely time and will absolutely be back!

Can’t recommend this place enough! Lovely staff always very friendly and welcoming. The loch house has lovely fresh food & does breakfasts and fancy lunches but don’t forget the cakes. Afternoon tea is a must! Also I can take my dog as it’s dog friendly and there happy to accommodate him with a sausage or two. Defo worth a try one of my favourite places to eat and meet up with friends

Love this wee gem! Really busy which is always a good sign! They managed to squeeze us in even though we didn’t book. They have great sandwich options and the afternoon was gorgeous! Only real negative was that there were no views over the loch when you were eating. Highly recommend the toasties and the afternoon tea for one!

Such a lovely little cafe in a beautiful lochside setting. The staff are super friendly, there's a great selection of food from cakes to afternoon tea to lunches. They have a good selection of teas too, including Suki tea. Love it.

Nice place, could perhaps do with a little update. Full breakfast was on the small side and tad expensive. Bannan's fitness club of Coatbridge was at another table conversing very loud with plenty of foul language, arranging a children's Christmas party, referring to them as 'delinquents'. I know it's not related to the cafe, but they really tarnished the experience. Didn't feel I could mention to staff as there were so few customers present. That being said, happy to try again.

We found on Google and went today. It is a must for those who want real food, lovely surroundings and friendly staff. We had not booked but fitted us in. They cater for all needs. Vegan gf etc with no fuss. Plus you can take away cakes etc. Will be back. Thankyou 💕
