The ambiance was great . food was good with good portion and service could definitely improve for a very small restaurant , overall happy going there with the family for Eid dinner.

I went to this place with friends. The food was awful and they included the stale rice probably few days old or leftover with the new ones. The rice were smelly and rotten, however they did not admit the fault despite smell coming out of the rice. Not for me again !

Tawa grill ruined our Eid day. Booked in week advance and was running late so called in to check is they would be fine if we still come in by 9pm. We walked in by 9:07pm and they refused to serve us. Like seriously didn’t even called us to tell they have given our table to someone else.

The most unprofessional place ever. Booked a week in advance a table. Was running late for traffic so called them up to inform for a possible 30mins delay and they said it was fine. We came in and they refused to serve us. They had our number and didn’t even call before giving our table to someone else.

Shitest place ever, I recommend no one to go there, they cannot hold the booking even for 5 min, people go all the way they my be late for 5 min for traffic and they don’t provide table because you are late 5 min. Staff are really unprofessional behavior.

Customer service was amazing was nice that they had dates and water available for iftar and they also provided pakoras as well. Menu was straight forward but staff was on hand and explained to us what certain items on the menu was. Portion size was good not to over bearing would recommend this place and definitely go again.

I recently had a disappointing experience at tawa Grill due to the unprofessional behaviour of one of the female staff members. Upon arrival, she stared at us for an uncomfortable amount of time before approaching our table to take our order. When we requested gajar ka halwa, she laughed and stated she would check availability, which seemed unusual for a restaurant to not know their current menu offerings. Instead of verifying with the kitchen, she engaged in a conversation with colleagues, laughed, and then returned to inform us that the dish was unavailable, still chuckling. The entire experience felt more like a social gathering than a dining experience, which was disappointing.

today ordered take away food and the man who received the call was struggling to take order. He told in 10 min food would be ready and also went there to collect that. They asked me to wait 5 min and gave me the parcel after 20 min. They spend the whole 20 min gossiping at the kitchen. After payment the waiter was very unprofessional and he was just standing infront of me without giving me the parcel 🤣 I asked him where is my food and he couldn't understand that 🤣 i again told him that where was my food. Then he went to the kitchen and bring food 👎 I dont understand what kind of mannerless behavior is this. They dont have a minimum sense of service. The man was horrible and when I was coming out from the shop i heard he was laughing with the other colleagues. I am fully unhappy and shocked at their behavior and service. How stupid the waiter is! I dont who hired them without professionalism. Anyway not going anymore as I had a very bad experience. not recommended as well 👎👎👎

We ordered the Afghan Special platter amd it was delicious. Our server Sanya was so polite and friendly and she gave service with a smile. We will be back for the food and to say hi to Sanya.

A small family run business and very popular so very busy but didn't stop the food coming out sizzling and hot. They were lovely but it is small and crowded so alot of things for one person to do. Food was amazing and ordered the Afghani platter and needed to take leftovers home.

The restaurant looks great, the staff are very friendly and customer service was great. The food on the other hand is not nice at all. I've had plenty of afghani food and this doesn't taste anything close to those other places. Wouldn't recommend.

Resturant prices for substandard food and cafe style service. Bought the lahori platter for 4 people. Chops and ribs was ok. Wings were burnt and extremely sour. Its the worst wing I've ever had in years as it tasted of charcoal and lemon and was crusty. Naan was good. Curry was good, but the meat (in curry) was full of bones which is a rip off and there was barely enough curry for half the naan breads which is a massive let down. Chips were ok. The "biryani" was absolutely terrible. Its not biryani when the chicken is bland. Its a basic chicken pilau and it was generally very bland when biryani is supposed to be flavourful in the rice and in the meat/chicken. Presentation was good, but for what I paid for, food was terrible. Service was bad as I didn't get the requested tap water and noone checked on us. I don't usually mind, but for what we were paying for, I absolutely do mind and service was bad. I've recieved better service in some cafes. Please avoid the LAHORI Platter people! You can get better desi food literally anywhere else.

Decent enough restaurant, but nothing stands out as excellent to make you want to return.

I visited this restaurant for the first time, but it was a huge disappointment. The food lacked flavour, the staff were rude, and the toilets were filthy. There was only one small toilet for both men and women, which was extremely inconvenient. On top of that, the place was overcrowded and felt very cramped. Definitely not a good experience—won’t be coming back!

This is my first time here as a walk in customer and quite impressed. Location, atmosphere, services, fresh and best quality asian food. Me Nd my brother’s family enjoyed every thing without any regrets to try new restaurant. The menu is best as there is plenty of platters with great combinations. We go with Afghani Platter, which was super in taste and verity. Highly recommended to every one who wants to eat less, mild or extra spice food. I am looking forward to visit again. I went yesterday with my family and with my friend's family but I have never eaten such a bad food, there was no test and they gave us the rice but that rice was also off ,we said that the rice is smelly they said ok , We eat at restaurant once a week, But never got this bad.

I happened to dine here yesterday - upon entering the waiter checked to see if there was any tables available as he mentioned the restaurant was fully booked although it seemed empty - luckily there was a table available - I had the pleasure of enjoying the Afghan Tawa platter - which serves 2/3 people i do think it can serve more - it was honestly delicious and amazing service - the waiter kindly explained they are always busy and it’s always good to call ahead. To anyone reading this - book ahead to avoid disappointment - many people were turned away some understood and some were being difficult. Don’t just assume because the restaurant is empty that the tables aren’t reserved. To the restaurant I think it should be clear to customers about booking tables ahead if possible to avoid angry customers via signs or a message online (as I witnessed) but thank you for the amazing food and service (mango lassi was one of the bests I’ve tried)

Two of us went for a meal, the table they sat us on was wobbling so much. We asked to be moved to another table. The next to us was empty. They kept on saying there was booking. No one came all the time we were there. The food is much better at a kebabish. Will never come again. Maybe if I was Pakistani they would have done something about it. Sub standard food. Messed up my evening and mood.

Very nice addition to gants hill. Food is served on a desi style tawa which is a large circular hotplate, chapati is normally made on. The flavours of the currys and the grilled meats was all varied and very nice. Generous portions as well. Just felt that it's a bit pricey for what it is. But we will go again, as we liked the food.

Food was very tasty. It was slightly expensive, however there was a pretty large portion of each dish served which made it feel worth the money. Before going for dine-in Please book the table otherwise you have to wait too long time.

Absolute disgrace. Don’t get me wrong the place looks lovely, but having to wait for over an hour just for a mixed grill? Have a laugh. Would t recommend this place to anyone. To top it off they have a sign saying “maximum sitting is 1 hour and 45 minutes” bit hard when your food takes an hour and a half to come to your table!

We have the dinner tonight for a Birthday,and the food was fabulous,chapli Kebab was perfect,not spice and Lamb Charsi so yammy.... Tawa grill big enough for 4-5 people. The desert tasty with icecream on top.❤️ Only the Mojito Strawberry was too sweet... Update Daal Gosht is nice but Achar Gosht is not for my taste,chapli Kebab good. Also they have great staff.👍

It was a busy place and everyone seemed to be in large groups enjoying huge platters of grilled food. We were a party of just 3 so our food came in normal dishes. The food itself was average, the service wasn't great - had to ask for a lot of basics ie glasses for the water they brought us 2 glasses for 3 people. It was a convenient option to choose this location as we were already nearby. Dum gosht was bland.

Had a lovely experience on Sunday late afternoon. Was fairly quiet when we got in but got busier as our time progressed there and can see why. The food was just delicious - we had the Afghani platter and everything was delicious - still dreaming about the naan and Chapli kebab. The chicken popcorn for kids tasted great too. The service was great and quick. What made it even better a lovely surprise and bonus was that it was their year anniversary and we were able to get 20% off. I would recommend that they have this more often discount as it did encourage to order more food to take away and I don’t mean doggy bag. Thank you and I hope to come again to try the other platters. :-) and last but not least - their cocktails are amazing especially the Pina Colada so creamy.

Look at the response you seem more then upset. I am upset because I have spent money on poor service and food. I also now have you calling me a liar about having to wait. What is it you are going to look into the problem is at the top. If the owner has such poor behaviours it clearly sends a message of poor standards. You ensure your customers are satisfied the owner sat there without a care in the world just watching and staff were clueless. Please tell me what is it you are going to look into.... Complete waste of time and money. The tone is set from the rude attitude of the owner so expect nothing. After waiting 45 minutes for food I had to ask someone how long my food would be. Not as if the restaurant was busy only two other tables. The food arrived most of which was cold. I had missing items and when I questioned this was given a blank look. My grill had no lamb tikka. They came back and put three pieces of lamb curry on my plate saying this was the tikka. First time I am seeing lamb tikka with pieces of bone in it. The owner was not interested who sat on the next table laughing her head of with friends. There was not one thank you or please from anyone in the restaurant. I now know why the table next to me left the majority of the food. If the service was not bad enough the food is even worse completely tastless. STAY AWAY you will get better service and quality food from the corner chicken shop. Lastly the Briyani tasted off... I have taken samples of the food and will be sending it to the local authorities.

Food is excellent, only disadvantage in service.... we were group of 8 people and it was big table , waitor just brought the drinks and put on the side rather serving to the guest and we were helping ourselves...it's ok...but if they improve on that part for future reference...should be good 👍🏼

Went here with family, with 5 of us was hoping the platter would be enough and it was. The food was presented in a nice way and really filling we ate lots and managed to take a lot home too…good food great taste the lamb curry was out of this world and the mixed grill was lovely…high ratings…was served by nabeel and he was a delight. Major disappointment tonight! The Biryani was a complete miss. It tasted off, and the achari chicken completely overpowered everything else. Basically, all I could taste was pickle. Honestly, this was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. Usually, I wouldn't complain at a restaurant, especially since it's a rare treat for me to eat out (only once a month!). I hate to cause a scene, and I didn't want to ruin the night for everyone. As you can see from the leftover food (and any Asian person will tell you this!), we always try to take leftovers home if we can't finish everything. Despite the awful food, I still left a tip. There were arguments over using equipment. I ordered a drink which was lost for no reason. There's no customers for the whole period except us. The food came to us after ordering was like I ordered over phone and they were waiting for our arrival.

Presentation was excellent but food wasnt that great. Grill items where mostly chewy and they do get hard and burn if stays on tawa for long.

Ordered mixed grill for 4. Everything was delicious except the lamp /mutton chops which were burnt to ashes on the other side of the presented video. Wish I had asked for it to be corrected as the rest of the food came out amazing and I just couldn’t have the opportunity to rate the chops here Tawa Grill!

Ordered Afghani plater but unfortunately food was too spicy. If you can handle spicy food then it will be an amazing option, however it doesn't fit the Afghani title.

lamb charsi, chappal kebab, and butt lamb karahi was excellent for London standard the biryani plus butter chicken was not a fan of hence the 4 stars and would like to give credit to the waiter called nabeel excellent service who did not stop even he was fasting and under pressure delivered to the T

Today we booked the iftar here , i must say its a complete package we ordered afgani platter and we are 5 people with two kids its wholesome, the up to the mark food , quantity , selection , taste is really fantastic and especially the fritters ( pakora) and dates which is complimentary give us so happiness cz that make iftar perfect , must must go place and highly recommended the staff is so great in high ambience Definitely visit againn

The best new Pakistani restaurant in Gants Hill. The chicken tikka and kebab where so lovely and nicely presented. If your after the best naan bread in London Tawa Grill is the winner!. Palak Paneer curry was absolutely amazing. I will be visiting this restaurant again.

A bit of a shambles, service very erratic, very greasy floor and seating arrangement not very good. The gimmick is it all comes served on a tawa , food wasn't bad but not sizzling hot , but everything bit cramped. Disappointed overall.

Came here to open my fast, service was brilliant, they had starters and dates already ready for customers on the house which was really nice of them. Food came very quickly and it was very tasty karahi! Highly recommended!
