The BEST Caribbean takeaway around. I have never outside of the Caribbean tasted food so good and so authentic. The family that run the restaurant are so friendly and familiar with all their customers even if it’s been months she never fails to ask how my baby girl is and that just adds a really special personal feel. The food speaks for itself and the queue outside the door that is usually there every lunch time is for a reason!! People come from far to eat at tastebuds and once you’ve had it once , you’re hooked ! 🍗🇯🇲

This little restaurant is a vibe I love how vibrant and authentic it is. The food was very tasty. They must be doing something right if they have been open over 18 years. The wait is worth it if you want fresh cooked food.

This is a no-frills, cafe-like setup. Their food is outstanding, portions are substantial, and you get a balanced meal. Owners are friendly and obliging but look to be understaffed. However, the queues are typically long close to meal times, so be prepared to wait. They run out of certain dishes, which unfortunately leaves customers disappointed. Overall, Tastebuds is a gem and one to come back to (if you can take the disappointment of your favourite dishes selling out!).

10+ years ago I used to live around the corner from this place. Have eaten there lots and it’s awesome! Took my wife there when we visited the UK and she loved it too. Great food and lovely people.

A gem in Aldershot, good food, good vibes and lovely owners. Whenever in Aldershot I try to visit, be prepared for a wait sometimes as the food is worth it. We were wilting in the heat, and Zion chopped up a huge juicy watermelon and gave slices to his waiting customers now that's customer service.

The food is absolutely amazing. It's been a couple of years since I've been here and it's somehow only got better. You may have to wait a few minutes as it can get busy but it is well worth the wait. Fantastic, friendly service and you can taste how fresh the food is. The curried goat is tender as anything and just falls apart as you eat it. Good portion sizes, it's amazing value for money. I don't know why I ever stopped coming here!

I went there with such high expectations and we drove for over 40 minutes to get there. I ordered fish and was informed that the fish was not available. Disappointed, I changed my order. However, 5 minutes later, 2 different customers came after me and asked for fish and they were told there's fish available and it'll be ready in some minutes. I was very upset because I had been looking forward to that for a long time. Apart from that, the food was nice. Just had to swallow it with my disappointment and confusion as to why fish was refused to me but served to others.

Best food in Aldershot. I had sticky chicken and rice and beans. Really tasty made with love. Ordered 3 other meals with sides of mack and cheese. All meals were amazing.

Absolutely brilliant as usual, went with friends for lunch, even though they were really busy, the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was great and really good value, not surprised it was busy! Definitely recommend !

Great place! went there for the first time today as I'm a sucker for Caribbean food and don't really have anywhere properly local to me. I initially wanted to have the jerk chicken but it was sadly all sold out so I went for the jerk pork instead and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. It had that beautiful salty charred jerk flavour that we all crave and was incredibly tender and juicy, a genuine delight to eat but my only regret was that I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. They certainly aren't tight on their portion sizes lol, great value for money. I also had the curried goat which again, was beautiful. The meat was so tender and fell off the bone with only the slightest bit of effort. Perfectly seasoned, sauced and spiced. The rice was perfectly seasoned and fluffy along with the perfect amount of beans spruced throughout. This place is as authentic as it comes and as a guy who's been to my fair share of Carribbean food places across the country I would genuinely put this place in my top 2 out of the 30 or so places Ive been too. Special mention to the lady at the front of house, she was very charming and gave off great vibes. Will certainly be going back very soon, thank you very much for the exceptional food!

Popped in for some late lunch an hour ago and it was our first time eating here, and we’ll definitely be coming back soon. The lady serving us was so welcoming even when she was dealing with a rush, and the food was better than we expected. The jerk chicken, Mac n cheese and the oxtail was just beautiful, and we’ll be sure to make this one of our regular spots for some good food. Thank you!

This is the best place for me to eat in the local area been coming here well over 10 years and seen it grow and grow. Real soul food with a great variety. Kelly n Dave are so welcoming the place has a real community feel to it. Garlic prawns, jerk pork n the coleslaw are my favourites they are out of this world. But same with everything can’t fault a thing.

First time ordering here after a good friends recommendation! I love Caribbean food and have eaten at lots of Jamaican restaurants over the years. Kelly was lovely and let me sample some of her curried goat! I have to say I don’t think I’ve ever tasted food like it!! Really tangy punchy jerk chicken and a big portion for the money! I’m coming back Saturday to order half the menu!! Loved it!!

I have visited this business ones and didn't know how to feel about it but I have spoken with the owner and can assure that this family business go out and beyond to satisfy every customer to their liking and more! Depends what you are after. Felt very much overrated having eaten at street foot stores in London. Lacked the debt of flavour promised. Did not feel like the food was cooked there and then despite the long wait. Very large quantities so many will be happy but they need to reduce the menu and focus on quality.

The food is really good quality and full flavor

There are two restaurants in Aldershot that offer exceptional foreign cuisine. For Carribbean food, its Taste buds (for Indonesian, it's Waroeng Windsor). You will find unbelievably good jerk chicken here, heavenly good. According to myth, ambrosia was the food of the Gods. If they had a choice now, they would, unequivocally opt for the jerk. The rice and peas side dish is always perfectly cooked with a slight coconut tinge. This compliments the chicken and goat curry beautifully. Service can be sketchy, but this is a must stop for any local gastronome.

Not had a goat curry that I've not cooked myself for the best part of 20 years. Living in Yorkshire we don't have the luxury of eating Caribbean cuisine. I've got to say it did not disappoint. Full of flavour with the meat falling off the bone. Nice big portion and more than fairly priced. Amazing food, friendly service with a homily atmosphere. I'd highly recommend to anyone passing through aldershot to go grab a bit to eat. Their mac and cheese was spot on too. I'll definitely be back to try the lemon cake!

We visited the area from London over the weekend and drove about for over an hour looking for somewhere to have some food. After going into and leaving 3 places as their kitchens were closed (saturday afternoon nogal) we stumbled across this place. Food was so good, the staff are amazing and really reasonably priced.

Literally the best ribs and coleslaw around and that's just because thats what i chose from the incredible menu offered! Travelled from London because we'd heard so many great things and was not disappointed! Highly recommended. Would suggest getting there earlier than later if you want a good choice of foods!!

Traveled for over hour & half to arrive at the shop which is meant to be open at 11am to find a sign saying open at 1:45pm waited for over a hour until 3pm and still not open, very disappointing as was so looking forward to trying this place for a long time. This should have been updated on the website to avoid people wasting their time! There was a lot of people waiting outside and ended up driving away.

The queue was slow on Friday dinner time but the food was fantastic! Had the melt-in-your-mouth oxtail, curry goat, and the chicken wing starter. Look forward to coming back and trying some more! Edit: Since have tried the jerk chicken and pork which is brilliant. And also the BBQ ribs starter is very good and big portion too. Kelly the owner was very friendly and welcoming too.

Ribs that didn't even make the table, sticky unctuous gems, tender, sweet and savoury. Curried goat, tender and moorish with that fabulous lingering heat, savoury rice and peas. Replete and satisfying. X

This place is the beeeest. Food, price, atmosphere everything is a 10. The only thing that I’m not happy about is that I don’t live closer, so I’m only getting when I’m the area.

We do like the food BUT if there will be no improvements on the service then, the customers' time is ours and it's up to us if we will keep embracing the queue. I care about your business hence I put the concern forward. The options to improve the service are the following: First, spot in Google which time you are busy, you will also know through experience what times you are generally busy, once identified, either you hire a temporary person for few hours or the gentleman inside may help you, at least take the order or process the payment. The waiting is truly horrible, 45 minutes the last time, in case the awareness was not identified. For one person to deal with all the people flocking in your store, it's too much. Check the clock and put a poll about the service timings then you will come to know how your customers feel about it. I hope you could recognise the genuine concern on your business, if not, then, at least I cared about your business ----- Food is good, the waiting is something they should improve. Too many times it happens so it’s worth to tell the owners. Pls take on a positive view

Holy moly! Found this place on maps and ended up coming 3 days in a row! So unbelievably good! Queue out of the door was a great sign and the atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming. I asked for recommendations and had a different thing each day, all of which were incredible and a great price! Recommend to everyone!

So glad I discovered this Caribbean restaurant while visiting Aldershot with work. The BBQ Ribs starter (£6) were probably the best I’ve ever had. I also had a Jerk Pork and Jerk Chicken (Mix Meat Meal) with rice (£12). This too was delicious. Although the place has a cafe type feel, don’t let this put you off. ‘Tastebuds’ is all about the food which was AMAZING and in my opinion, great value. The service was fantastic too. We had a good bit of banter with the lady serving us, who was doing a great job during a busy final hour of the day. Highly recommended.

I visited TCR today with my family. Our family thoroughly enjoyed a festival of ackee & saltfish with dumplings, barbecue chicken and rice and peas, macaroni cheese, pepper prawns etc. It was our first time visiting TCR and it was well worth it. First impressions go a long way especially when it comes to soul food.. So I have to say I was pleased with both service and product.. Firstly the lady was friendly and smiling, please take note because irs as rare as Halleys comet to see smiling faces in a caribbean establishment.. Anyway good food good service.. Dun So... came back here after 2 months and was not pleased at all.. Had jerk chicken, DRY. tasted old and microwaved to the point where the plastic box had melted and and hole was visible.. Real let down in terms of consistency.. Have to say I won't be back..

Super affordable, incredibly delicious food. It's just a shame it's not as close to where I live! Can't recommend enough; only thing to note is that, you must arrive in good time i.e. super early to avoid missing out! Nothing on the menu that I've tried and didn't like! Amazing!

Very friendly, food was amazing I had the jerk chicken, rice and peas it was lovely! The chicken has a lovely grilled/Smokey flavour and tasted delicious! Overall experience was really good and would highly definitely recommend!
