We have visited this place quite a few times now which says alot for us. The staff are very friendly, the cafe very clean . We had a small English breakfast which was plenty for us and the Lincoln sausage was very nice in particular. They also have a fab selection of home made cakes . Well worth a visit.

Horncastle was our lunch break on our journey from Norwich to Bridlington. This place is obviously very popular as people were happy to stand and wait for a table. I had a lovely very strong double shot Americano and very nice beans on toast, followed by a lovely piece of chocolate cake.

We were visiting friends and stopped to look around Horncastle and have a coffee. Tanya's was recommended to us by a lady that we'd stopped on the street. We're not local, so it's always good to ask. A lovely lady asked us to wait outside just whilst she cleared and sanitised our table, then we were seated and our order taken. We'd spied the mint aero biscuit cake and oh my, that didn't disappoint! It seemed to be going fast so I promptly donned my mask and went up to the counter to order four pieces to take away for our friends (who went mad for them, I may add!) We sat happily, watching the world go by and there was a constant flurry of locals going in and out, which is always a good sign of excellence. We can't recommend it highly enough as a little oasis of calm for the tourists who just need a little pit stop.

Handy place for a break of journey. There's a public car park and conveniences only a very short distance away. All covid requirements are adhered to and shouldn't give rise to any concerns. Stopped in horncastle and the place we go to first is Tanya’s tea room. We love it here and so do the kids. We had afternoon tea for four. The sandwiches were so nice with really soft fresh bread and the fillings were so tasty, then the warm fresh scones with clotted cream and jam which were to die for and finally a selection of home made cakes these have to be seen and eaten to believe just how good these are. This place is spotlessly clean with good covid protocol. My regular fare here has been the all day breakfast and it is a very good plate of food with an excellent cappuccino (coffee courtesy of Stokes in Lincoln, top quality). Covid queueing was interesting as I was outside in the rain for quite some time, which may give you an idea of how much I wanted to eat here. There is also a particularly fine selection of home made cake and fabulous meringue to eat in or takeaway. Service can be slow at busy times (more tables than right now) but was very prompt on this occasion and at a reduced price due to the Government eat out scheme. There are an assortment of cafes in the town but this is the one I prefer and highly recommend to any visitors.

This coffee shop is 1 of the best in Horncastle ( In our opinion). We have lunch here at least once a week sometimes twice. The service and staff are fantastic and the food and cakes are the same. All of the food we have had has been very fresh and full of flavour. This coffee shop gets very very busy in the lunchtime , which in my mind only means one think ( that its very good ). Yes the coffee shop has not got a toilet but there are toilets a very short walk down from the coffee shop so this would not be a problem. Some of the cakes are homemade and i have to say they are excellent. I cannot understand why there is a couple of poor reviews , this is customers just wanting to make a fuss about nothing. At the end of the day why did they not say something to the owner, and as for the No toilet comments it has a sign in the shop clearing stating that they do not have toilets so if you are unhappy with this why stay there.

Having popped into this very nice tea and coffee venue for a break from shopping, I was fascinated to hear several customers referred to by their personal names. In return, I heard different customer referring to members of staff by theirs. Obviously, there must be a lot of regular trade for this to happen. I ordered coffee and coke whilst my wife had fruit tea and scone. One thing that struck me was that the scones had not been ruined in texture by warming them in a microwave oven. My Carrot Cake was delicious and my coffee was made with a good blend of ground beans.

Readers of our reviews will know that we don't give wholehearted praise lightly! However, this place deserves just that - and more - for it is a truly exceptional cafe, both in terms of atmosphere and the culinary delights it serves. Special mention must go to two delightful ladies 'front of house' - Sue and Kate - without whom Tanya's would be, well, still exceptionally good but perhaps lacking some of the delicious hug-ability factor!! The lunches at Tanya's are tasty and attractively presented; the 'Full English' is to die for, and the range of home-made cakes are simply mouth-wateringly good. This is a busy little place and tables cannot be reserved, so be prepared to be patient, especially on a Saturday when things can be frenetic.

Came in today with a friend for coffee and after finishing our drinks but still sat chatting a waiter came over asking if we were wanting to order anything else, to which I replied jokingly "why? do you want us to leave?". I was then very surprised by his response of "yes if that's okay" when we were thinking of having another coffee and possibly some food. This left us very uncomfortable and out in the rain. We then proceeded to visit another nearby cafe (to which service was quite the opposite!). If there were people waiting to be seated I would not have minded however with it raining outside and other empty tables available I can't understand why I was treated this way, especially with it not being a busy lunchtime period. As a regular visitor to this cafe, I am shocked and will not be visiting again in a hurry!

Stop by Tanya's while shopping with a friend in Horncastle, we both had a ham salad and was amazed how much we got! The ham was hand carved, egg, beetroot, coleslaw and mixed salad leaves with sweet corn, onion and cress...it was lovely and very reasonably priced. The cafe was very busy and the staff were very welcoming. We didn't have to wait too long for our meals. Desserts looked very inviting but I was too full to manage anything else. I would definitely go there again.

Really nice lunch baguettes, beef, onion and horseradish recommended. Staff are always friendly. Decor is much improved as of 2016, used to be a bit gloomy.

Popped into this lovely little Tearoom while out shopping and was so pleased with it we returned next time we were in town. The food was fresh, beautifully cooked and very well presented. A great friendly and relaxed atmosphere with staff working hard to make you feel at home. A very clean and comfortable experience and good value for money.

In Horncastle for shopping we decided to treat ourselves to a light lunch. Our first visit to Tanyas and when we saw the menu a full breakfast and a cheese salad were ordered! The salad almost defeated my wife but she enjoyed it very much with plenty of variety and a selection of cheeses. My breakfast was exactly what it should be. Real Lincolnshire sausage (2), tasty bacon and two beautifully fried eggs which tasted free range. The plate was full but I made sure that I didnt insult the chef!

A really nice cafe with the most pleasant staff. Marvellous sandwiches, great breakfasts and the most gorgeous cakes for tea, convenienly place near to the market square. I can recommend the prawn sandwiches and the ploughman's lunch both excellent. Please try when in Horncastle. Such friendly staff too.

Lovely cup of tea at a great price in comfortable surroundings frequented by obvious regulars what more could you want? (Well a toilet would be good but very clean public loos were almost next door so not a problem for us)

Had a wonderful vegetarian breakfast here for lunch, very reasonable for £4.25, and the hash browns were yummy - tasted homemade. My hubby had the all day breakfast and he was very impressed, and he sets the bar high. There was a good selection of drinks available and although we didn't try the cakes, they looked amazing and we'll definitely go back here next time in town, and try them. The people working here were nice and friendly, so good atmosphere.

We have been visiting Tanya's since she opened in January, never been disappointed, delicious coffees, tasty well presented lunches, pleasant staff, we have admired the cakes from afar, nearly gave in but then thought about our waistlines, maybe one day!!!!

We visited here for breakfast after a very busy morning packing up our tent to go home after a stay at a nearby campsite (extra points for being dog friendly!). All very hungry there were plenty of options to choose from and even the option to build your own breakfast which was great for my daughter who wouldn’t eat a full breakfast but would still like certain items! The staff were lovely, the service was quick and the food was delicious! Extra shoutout to the iced latte and the big buts breakfast. It was amazing! We will definitely be returning when we are back in Anderby. Thank you!

Spotted from the car park and decided to stop for a coffee. There was some seating outside so perfect for anyone with dogs. It was a beautiful spring day so we also decided to have some cakes and a cheese scone. I have to say the cakes were fab and the cheese scone was the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

After having had a fantastic experience here midweek during the summer, we promised ourselves we would be back for Sunday dinner. We booked by email, which was confirmed within minutes, Howe when we arrived there was no record of the booking. I was able to find the confirmation email. We were told that we could be accommodated but it would have to be in the bar area as there were 3 other bookings which already had restaurant tables reserved. We were advised to pick a table and they would set it up for us. We showed them where we would like to sit and waited for someone to bring some seating to the table. After 10 minutes we were still standing so found a different table which had seats in place. (We had already informed them that my husband was recovering from a broken ankle) Eventually the waitress came and gave us cutlery and placemats but no salt and pepper. She took our meat orders and I asked whether the veg would include cauliflower cheese, as I would like to not have it, as I have an allergy/intolerance. We waited a further half an hour for our meals, which came with the vegetables served on a tray, including the cauliflower cheese. There was only one spoon which was resting in the cheese sauce so I had to request another one. I then dished myself up a spoonful of swede/carrot mash and one broccoli floret. I did try to dish up some cabbage but found that when lifted from the plate, the cabbage came out from under the cauliflower cheese and covered in the sauce, so I had to not have cabbage. After the meal, the waitress came to clear the table. She dropped some vegetables on the tablecloth and asked if we wanted puddings to which I responded yes. After waiting for 38 minutes with no sign of the waitress to clean the table or take our pudding order, we decided to leave. On taking our payment the bar staff asked if everything had been ok, so I mentioned the above. He simply said, ‘sorry about that ‘but the mains were ok?’ I chose not to continue with the conversation, as my husband had overheard the barman say that he was going to rip someone’s head off. We are really disappointed as we had been telling everyone about how good our experience in the summer was. To top it all, there was a very large dog in the area which smelled strongly and a group of young children also came and used the pool table right next to us, despite there being a notice advising that nobody under 16 was allowed to use it. Another customer did point it out but was ignored. One or two little things we could have overlooked/forgiven but unfortunately there were too many today and we won’t be back

An unassuming little place that offers a friendly welcome and excellent, attentive service. It's got a cosy, slightly bio/eco feeling with very interesting plants and an insect hotel outside the door. Menu is limited but more than adequate for a light lunch or afternoon tea. Nice music playing unobtrusively in the background too. A really great touch is their bottomless cup for tea or coffee. Blink and you'll miss this place as you drive along the busy and fast A52 between Boston and Skegness. It's on a cross-roads just after the main Friskney village turn-off travelling NE. But DON'T miss it because it really is a worthwhile pit-stop. Opposite, down the lane towards the Wash, there is some brilliant wild walking.
