It's been a while without me writing a review and problably for good reasons, I think reviewing for the sake of it does not make sense to me, I need to feel that the place deserves it. And this one meritoriously deserved one and a very positive one. My wife decided to book a table at this restaurant for her birthday, as she read very good reviews and we have an appreciation for asian cuisine. Ok, no more beating around the bush, the experience was really pleasing, the service is very good and attentive, the atmosphere is relaxing and soothing and the food was delicious. Some reviewers mention how hot the food is but I did not have any issues with it, perhaps because I love spices and gochujamg is one of my favourite condiments, so bear that in mind. My wife found it hotter than I did but she enjoyed it pretty much as well. Price is adequate and portions are right on point. We'll be back for more.

We love it here. We travel from Lincolnshire so not frequent visitors but when it’s a special celebration this is a great choice. The food is always delicious. Staff are friendly and kind. Would love to see sago on the dessert menu!

2nd visit to this intimate little restaurant. Top marks for everything. The service was friendly with our waitress recommending great food and wine. The food was outstanding.Bursting with flavour. Great atmosphere on an early Friday evening sitting with no hint of any rush... We just ate.. drank.. & relaxed. Already planning a return trip... One of the best Bedford has to offer.

I had the most lovely meal at Tana Thai few days ago! A very calm, and welcoming place. They were attentive to my dietary needs, (Vegan) and I can’t have food with onion and garlic. Each dish was packed with flavour and waitress Bella was so kind and welcoming, did not make me feel awkward with all my dietary needs, they happily helped me. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to come back again! Thank you to the wonderful chef and Bella the most sweet waitress. You guys are amazing! May x

Had a lovely meal at Tana Thai. We opted to share a platter and ordered a side dish of Money Bags. The selection for the platter was great and really flavourful. We had satay chicken, battered squid, spring rolls and prawn toast which was the favourite. Highly recommend.

Delivery was great, quick and friendly. Quality of food was poor by Tana Thai's usual high standards - chicken was dry and didn't taste particularly fresh

The best Thai restaurant in Bedford

Although there was no sign of Sir Cliff on the night I visited the real star of the show was the chicken satay. This set the stage for what was a fine meal. Satay is so often chewy and tough but here it was a revelation. Just wish my older wife was still with me to enjoy it . Thankyou so much or as Sir Cliff would sing “Congratulations “

All four of us were blown away by the food . This is a seriously good and very authentic Thai restaurant . The freshness and use of Thai herbs can be tasted with each mouthful . Every single dish was 10 out of 10 . The set meal was excellent and supplemented by an amazing Papaya salad. Furthermore the atmosphere is really good and the service excellent . It really felt like we we were back in Thailand. There are so many average , poor and bad Thai restaurants in the UK and you visit with high expectation only to be disappointed. Not this one ..... We will be back . An absolute Gem !

Lovely food with great service.

This was our first visit to Tana Thai but certainly not going to be our last. My son rang me up and said he wanted to take us out for Father’s Day so pick where I wanted. Tana Thai was where I decided on, so glad I did. It wasn’t too expensive either (which was just as well, as even though I was being taken out for Father’s Day I still ended up paying!!). The restaurant (including the toilets) was spotless, the staff were well presented and polite. The food was plentiful and delicious, a superb variation of choices on the menu. We will have to go again as there are so many more items we all want to try.

Great food & never disappoints

I chose this restaurant for my sons 18th and 21st, as well as visiting at other times, obviously I was impressed enough to return, safe in the knowledge that it was a good choice to take my cousin who is visiting from America, to a special meal at a restaurant I felt sure, would deliver the right experience. Unfortunately, the waitress barely spoke, didn’t offer us side plates, didn’t ask us if we had what we needed when the main courses had arrived, She wasn’t warm and friendly, I’m not sure what she was doing choosing to be a waitress! Unfortunately this visit fell rather short of the standard I am used to from Tana Thai, which was a little embarrassing for me. I had promised her a good experience.. Traditional Thai restaurant, curries with coconut milk. All the food was fresh and very tasty. The restaurant is small in size, booking recommended but they also do takeaway. Lots of vegetarian options

We visited for my dad’s birthday, the restaurant is small but the noise didn’t carry. The food was delicious, best Thai food I have had in a long time. We had starter main and dessert all very nice. The staff were all very friendly. Would recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic food, fantastic service. Booked a table for Valentines Day at short notice, and the team couldn't have been more helpful after the website crashed, and I called to confirm my booking. We had difficulty finding a space, and they quickly provided a solution to get our night off to a great start. Starter's arrived in good time followed by the main course and both were piping hot. For my first Thai experience, it couldn't have been much better. We will be back 😀👍🏿

I have lived in Bedford for many years but have never ventured into this restaurant. Well what a shame as i didnt realise what ive been missing all these years. What absolutely lovely food it was and great service. I shall definitely be returning here as both my wife and i were very impressed. Highly recommend

Visited for the first time today. Outstanding food and amazing service. We ordered the set menu for two and it was good value for money. To top it all off the atmosphere is lovely and a wonderful evening out. Can't wait to return!

Once again Tana Thai pulled out all the stops. I hadn't dined at Tana for a few months, however eating there on Friday made me realise what I had missed. This is truly the best Thai restaurant in Bedford and possibly in my opinion Bedfordshire. Excellent service great flavoursome authentic Thai cuisine, at a reasonable price, what more could you ask for. I love this place, as do those people I have recommended Tana Thai to. If you love Thai food and you've never been, I strongly recommend that you do!!!!

Was pleasantly surprised by Tana Thai. I was expecting the same run of the mill establishment as others with mediocre food, but I was wrong. Firstly was warmly welcomed by the staff when we arrived and they sat us down taking our drinks order. I would firstly recommend that you book in advance as it's not the biggest venue but seems to be popular and lots of people are coming in on the off chance but not being successful with getting a table. The menu is just right with everything you expect, but on this occasion, we went for the set menu that had a bit of everything, and we ended up ordering some extra bits on the side. We were given complementary prawn crackers with some sauces, which I thought was a nice touch and very moreish. Service was spot on, and the food was not disappointing. Presented nicely, looked and tasted fresh, and portions were the right size, too. Waitresses were friendly and helpful, making sure everything was OK and making sure that we were OK for food and drink. I can't fault Tana Thai, my experience here was good and I would recommend anyone to try it if you haven't already. It's a nice little venue for a nice meal out and maybe a small group of friends. Definitely pre book your table, and honestly, enjoy your experience there as I did.

Excellent menu and brilliant gluten free selection. Ideal for vegetarians too. The food was extremely tasty and when they give it 3 chillis for spice - assume it's going to be very hot. Jasmine tea was an excellent accompaniment and the sticky toffee pudding was lovely and gluten free. Parking across the road in College car park. Free for blue badge holders. Staff helpful and friendly. Toilets clean and modern. If you're in a wheelchair then the toilets would be too narrow to transfer and there are 2 large steps to reach them. Would definitely eat here again.

All was excellent! A bit of a wait between courses, but so worth it! My favourite was the King prawn Pat Thai.

Lovely friendly service but unfortunately, I'm sorry, but the food was very bland and not very hot. Had the set menu for two people which was great but more expensive with less courses then previously had.

Booked a table last minute on a Friday. Lovely little restaurant with friendly staff and an excellent meal. I had the crispy sea bass which was just incredible. My lovely lady had the beef Pad Grapao which is on the menu as very spicy (this is accurate 🥵) Fully recommend, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed

Wasn't really for us, the tables are so close together it was like you were sitting with the people next to you. The food didn't have a much flavour as other restaurants we've tried in the past. It does get busy in there so lots of people enjoy it, it just wasn't for us on that night.

Simply wonderful - the food was delicious, possibly the nicest Thai food I’ve had outside of Asia and the portion sizes were big!

It was a busy bank holiday Saturday and we booked a week in advance and were asked to provide our menu choices the night before, owing to being such a large party. The welcome was warm, the drinks, including cocktails, were well made and beautifully presented and the food was immaculately served to all of us on time. The service couldn't have been bettered. We will be back.

Excellent meal. Very good service. Reasonable price. I couldn’t ask for more. Great to meet the chef owner Tanya’s well. As a vegetarian, I found the quality and variety of veg used in my meal and the perfect standard of cooking fantastic. The Tom Yum soup was at the ideal level of spiciness and just sharp enough for my taste. The veg Pad Thai was a perfect follow on main course. I would recommend this for a quality mean at a reasonable price.

Our first visit to Tana Thai was excellent. The food and service were both outstanding. (Cautionary note: when a dish is described as 'very hot' it really is. I love hot and spicy food, but this was towards the upper limit of my tolerance). Our food was served quickly by a very friendly, constantly smiling, young lady. The presentation was stunning, as were the flavour combinations. My wife's Massaman curry was tweaked to add a bit extra spice - delicious! Good value, a really tasty meal and great service will definitely tempt us to return.

My partner and I aim to do a date night once a month at a non chain restaurant and keep it a surprise from the other. This was my choice and to be truly honest, this place was absolutely amazing! Really friendly staff, stunning interior and the food was just amazing!

We ordered a takeaway- didn't dine in. What a huge disappointment- I was really looking forward to this based on reviews but definitely not authentic Thai. I swear the fishcakes didn't even contain fish! They were flat chewy pancakes that tasted like massively overcooked omelette...

What an expierience beautiful clean restaurant, food was so fresh well presented and delicious , service and staff were excellent even though was so busy . Eaten all over Asia and right across the UK. Read the rave reviews, totally puzzled. Food really lacked authenticity. Mixed starter tasted pre-cooked out of a packet and heated up. Main courses, sauce probably out of a bottle just didn't taste of any Thai dish...
