I just popped in for brekky and will be back again soon. I had a lovely toasty. Heaps of beef and cheeses and chilli jam. It filled me up. And will keep me going for hours. Of course the coffee was delicious and i liked the cups. Nothing pretentious or awkward about this lovely shop. Just great staff serving quality food and drink in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere .

Never had a better cheese toasty and I’ve had a lot of cheese toasties! Great friendly service and nothing was too much of an ask of the staff. Will 100% be visiting again

We stumbled across this lovely coffee shop just after lockdown. Me and my partner brought our first home in oakdale, blackwood. Not knowing anyone of anything near by. Our first visit to tamp and grind was perfect. It's become a little weekend addiction!! It's not like an ordinary coffee shop. (costa) They put some serious thought and care into the coffee they serve. Would 100% recommend. The staff are all lovely too! Very friendly and helpful!!

First off, the coffee is exceptionally good. Really smooth and full of flavour - including even the decaff for the husband. Second, the food. It's as good as the coffee and the portions are huge. I had a waffle stack and the waffles were freshly made, and delicious, and he had a New Yorker, which was massive. Third, the staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful. Can't fault it - it's become a regular place to visit.

Went in to get breakfast but it’s a very limited menu. Made more limited by the fact that they’d run out of items to make waffles! Slow service too.

A bijou independent coffee shop on a high street which has many cafes to choose from. Tamp and Grind is very different , it has that hipster vibe you usually find on Camden High Street and it has the BEST coffee in Blackwood. Cakes and sandwiches are good and they have good deals for lunches.

Being a lover of independent coffee shops, I was really excited to give this place a go. Everything from the aesthetic, to the service (which is incredibly friendly and welcoming), to the pricing, is absolutely wonderful. The coffee is some of the best I've had around here, and it always looks so lovely! I come here usually once a week, and it is always one of the best parts of the week. This place does not disappoint. I look forward to visiting so much more when lockdown is over!

This is a charity run church business. The welcome is always warm. The food is freshly prepared and the prices are reasonable. Although this is a Christian run cafe religion isn't thrust upon you. My family goes there regularly. Overall a worm, welcoming cafe.

Great choice of drinks. Staff always make you feel personally welcome. Lots of seats inside and outside, and a great view of the valley on a nice sunny day.

Went here a few times but just won't go again. It's a nice place, dog friendly and great to be able to see the brewery from the bar area. Unfortunately the prices are stupidly high and I simply refuse to go again to pay that money. I understand craft beer is typically more expensive than what is labelled as real ale, but it's Caerphilly we are talking about here, not some big city. I recall the last time I went with a friend I paid something like £13 for 2 pints. Ridiculous especially when you consider that's about Oxford prices for craft (in some places it's less). Even tiny rebel in Cardiff is less than that. Unfortunately on this basis I refuse to visit anymore. I don't expect value for money but equally I don't expect to feel ripped off. Looking at other reviews I'm not the only one. At even £5 a pint I would have likely gone at least 10 more times with a friend since I stopped going (having 2 or 3 pints per person on each occasion), but I refuse to pay almost £7 a pint (some on tap are even more expensive). Such a shame.

I booked an area for 14, for Sunday lunch via Facebook messenger. There was plenty of on street parking and a friendly welcome. All the preordered meals were served correct, warm, with a selection of vegetables. Every single person raved about their choice and I got to take our leftover beef (very generous portions) for my greyhound Lily..... her eyes are the best review anyone could have! We are all family based in Monmouth, Cardiff, Blackwood & Abertillery and the location was great for us all.
