We went for Sunday lunch and were welcomed by friendly staff. The chef was excellent and gave us good portions. The food is consistently good so we have been eating there for over 20 years. We were the only customers which is such a shame. The prices have gone up but it was worth paying for the service and quality of food. We are so happy they are still there after all these years. Maybe a special Sunday lunchtime menu will bring in more customers?

Entered this establishment at 8pm. A member of staff asked if we had booked. Two people were in the restaurant. We said no we hadn't. She said, then the restaurant is booked up and she cannot take any more customers! We left and went elsewhere. After two hours at another establishment, we went back to the TT to see how busy they were and another 4 couples were sat to eat. So, the restaurant was quarter filled. The reason for this review? Is to establish why some restauranteurs are not accepting customers on the spot and especially on Valentine's night? We didn't realise that restaurants were happy to turn away diners on Valentine's night in this current climate but TT clearly are doing just fine, it would seem!! Will never patron here again..n the past a much better environment. If Joanna's has had to close then this restaurant is on its last legs.!!

It used to be much nicer with more space. After Covid area, the restaurant got smaller with few tables. I chose Green Curry with Jasmine rice. Unfortunately I found a black hair in it that it was changed after I showed it to the waiter.

I would rate this place 4/5 simply because we were greeted with a smile which was very lovely and it was a tuesday night so you can imagine it wasn’t very busy. There was only one woman working on the floor and she done an excellent job at serving customers aswell as bringing over the food while still doing a check back to ensure we were happy. We order 2 single gin and lemonades, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 portions of rice and it came to a total of £65 which i believe is a good price for thai food; although the food portions were small and if you’re eating a meat dish then majority of your plate will be vegetables drowning in sauce. I ordered a garlic and black pepper with beef and my friend ordered sweet and sour chicken but her dish came quite spicy which we was shocked and slightly disappointed about as sweet and sour isn’t traditionally spicy. Overall it was a good experience :)

I am not one to leave bad reviews but this really shouldn't happen. The satay smelled of cigarette hands. Sorry... this cannot be it! Hard pass for me!

My partner and I use to go to this restaurant quite a lot before covid and always enjoyed ourselves, good food, drinks and the service. Not much has changed for us in that respects except now there was only one lady taking orders etc. There was about 10 people in the restaurant and she seemed to serve everyone in an orderly fashion, we didn't have to wait too long for the food to come and it was delicious, our main was great, I had the green Thai Curry, and my partner had the crispy seabass, excellent, we couldn't finish it all and took the rest home. We enquired as to how the business was going and she said it is now starting to pick up, they had 20 staff at one point but after Covid had to let them go. It made me sad to see the other bad reviews on here as this place is worth a visit, not sure what happened when those visits were made but our experience was great. Gave four stars because they weren't serving Cocktails, but this was easily fixed as there are two cocktail bars along Westow Hill.

I really enjoyed my food, so did my boyfriend. We thought the food was very reasonably priced and drinks were good, as there was a large selection. We got great recommendations on the food, each dish was great.

Not the Tamnag Thai experiance we have enjoyed befor. Must have been taken over and newbies riding on the good reputation of the previous restaurant. Very scruffy, freezing cold and no atmosphere - restaurant has been stripped of all the loveley Thai decor. BEWARE the 'vegetarian' red/green curry contains fish sauce!!!! I ordered the tofu stir fry which was watery, flavourless and poor value for money. Will not be going back.

In order to give some balance to the recent reviews here, we had a lovely meal. Only downside was that the restaurant was a bit cold but we were soon warmed up by the spicy food! Service was great and food served quickly. A special of a delicious soft shell crab to begin with Thai spicy salad. Mains of whole deep fried and crispy sea bass and crispy very spicy duck. Perfect. Served with Thai beer. Having visited about a year ago and was underwhelmed we were pleasantly surprised with our visit last week.

Upon entering the empty restaurant (which should of been a sign), a lady dressed in what looked like her home lounge wear, said to me and my partner , “yeh?!”, first shock! We asked for a table for 2 . She says nothing and so we just followed her. My partner then asked where the toilets are , and the other lady put her finger up at him and said something along the lines of “one minute” in a rude tone. When he went upstairs to the toilet he had to walk over a plumber fixing a radiator at the top of the stairs !We then had to call over the first rude woman to order our food, she said nothing, she just stood at the table with the body language of a teenager have a strop! No thank you , no nothing fr her. She returns with our drinks and looks elsewhere whilst lazily casting them on to the table. My partner said thank you, and she ignored him. They had little heaters plugged in everywhere because it seemed their heating was not working . We were freezing . I turned one of the heaters to face us more, a few minutes later she stormed over huffing and puffing and turned it back away from us. The starters came and they were disgusting and my corn cakes were undercooked. Disgusting !!! By this point we weren’t going to stick around to be treated like scum anymore and to give ourselves food poisoning from the rubbish they were serving. My partner went up the the first rude lady, and said that we will not be continuing to eat there anymore , she said nothing and went to get the card reader, my partner paid and she still said nothing. They are more concerned for their takeaway orders than dine-in customers. (And from what I have now read in reviews …. Their takeaway service is ridiculous also) I have never experienced something quite like this . Absolutely APPALLED!!!!

Visited this restaurant on 24/9/21. Very rude staff, expansive dishes and lougy service and compulsory 10% service charge which was not shown clearly on menu. Would never visit this place again.

We came here following a recommendation, I had chicken satay starter and ginger stir fry with prawn. The food is well presented but pretty average flavour, the stir fry portion was very small. On a Friday night, the restaurant was less than half full. I counted about 6 tables occupied with 2/3 people per table. Despite this, the service was fairly slow and inattentive, when serving the main course it took a while for everyone’s food to arrive and after mains the waitress kind of disappeared. Dessert was not offered or available at all (missed delivery apparently) The restaurant appears to be popular with takeouts, as demonstrated by the frequent loud pinging from the Uber Eats machine and drivers coming and going. The waitress serving the tables was also the one handling these orders out, so it’s clear the restaurant is prioritising takeout orders over those in-house. The prices are fairly standard for the area but high for the average quality of the food, and the portion size. In summary, this is not a place you’d go for any kind of special occasion, possibly a decent takeaway option

We order a vegetarian dish, quantity very poor for the price we paid (its a robbery ) and the worst it came absolutely cold. We complained and she came took it away and came back literally a minute later (it could not be heated elsewhere but in the microwave) . We complained about the quantity price relation. She would not care...she said portions are small. Literally the veg would be contained in the small hand of a lady. It is DISGRAFUL FOR THE PRICES AND QUALITY . I also ordered the crispy duck . I had to look with a microscope to find the duck....the rest a small quantity of vegetable. £60 with 1 beer and water. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !! AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALLCOSTS...! AND THE SERVICE WAS COLD AND INDIFERENT! I have to give it one star but in truth it deserves 0.

My partner and I ate here last night (26 June). The entire experience was so disappointing I feel compelled to write a review to warn other diners never to consider eating here. My stir fried vegetable dish was such a small portion it would not have satisfied a hungry toddler. Not only was it overpriced at £8.95 AND needed a portion of noodles at £7.95 to make it a substantial dinner, they arrived stone cold and needed to be sent back. There is no way on earth that dish was cooked fresh to order in a wok, and the reheated plate was returned so quickly I believe it was put in a microwave for 30 seconds. To cap it all the waitress was indifferent to my comments and had the cheek to add 10% service charge to an extortionate bill of £55 for two people eating two courses and drinking just one beer. Restaurants like this do not deserve to survive. Thai food is delicious when cooked well - this place needs to up its game or close down. I feel robbed.

I ordered vegetarian chilli noodles and gyoza. Both dishes contained meat in them. When I called the restaurant to resolve the issue they were extremely unhelpful and wouldnt replace the order. I won't be ordering from them ever again!

This was a deliveroo takeaway. Disappointing really. It was tasty enough but kind of at the level of a supermarket meal, not a £43-for-two superior takeaway. So we ordered at 7:30pm and deliveroo delivered an astonishing 11 minutes later. On a Friday night. This got me thinking, ‘can this be freshly made?!’. And of course it wasn’t. The crispy duck starter was dry and the vegetables had been chopped a long time ago. I mean definitely not today. Then the pad Thai was mediocre. The mushroom soup was pretty good. And the chilli beef was hot but no delicate fresh flavours at all. We live locally and have enjoyed meals in the restaurant but I’m done with it now. I’ll be seeking out alternate Thai options in the area next time. Shame.

They forced me to work 100+ hours then only paid around £220 then expected me to be ok with this, i had already taken a pay cut in order to help out but for them to turn around and do this to me is inexcusable.

We waited a long time to order our drinks, the waitress had to be called ... the service was very poor and then when we refused to pay the service charge, they kicked off ... and upon leaving the restaurant we said bye, but the waitresses never responded, we said bye once again only to to looked upon with their silence... we spent £80 in there and it was an £80 that will NEVER be spent there again!!! the soup was disgusting

Primer cierre del puesto de comida familiar. Ignorado en la puerta en una cola detrás de todos los conductores de Deliveroo. La camarera finalmente nos mostró una mesa. El restaurante ahora está muy iluminado y se han eliminado todas las decoraciones. Creo que funciona la cantina. Nos entregaron menús con orejas de perro y no limpios. No hay señales de desinfectante de manos. Pedimos bebidas y la camarera nos dijo que no había menú de bebidas y que podíamos tomar Coca-Cola Fanta o limonada. Podríamos tomar una copa de vino o una cerveza, pero estaban calientes y no podíamos tomarlas hasta que hubiéramos pedido comida. No nos ofrecieron ninguna explicación o disculpa, aunque un comensal en otra mesa nos informó que habían perdido su licencia de alcohol. El mismo comensal también dijo que su mesa ha estado esperando años por su comida y que estaban más preocupados por la comida para llevar. Nos fuimos. Nos ignoraron. No volverá.

Fuimos como nuestra primera visita a un restaurante después del cierre. El servicio tomó una eternidad: los entrantes llegaron después de unos veinte minutos y los platos principales fueron una hora y media después de ordenar. . . La comida en sí era insípida e incluso después de que pedimos platos picantes, solo había el sabor más suave. La comida duró horas. . . no porque lo estuviéramos disfrutando, sino porque estábamos esperando (después de pedir repetidamente) la comida.Además, en la era Covid, los menús no estaban desinfectados, el PPE del personal era inconsistente (uno usaba una pantalla facial, el otro no usaba mascarilla) y las mesas no estaban separadas.

A pesar de que el ambiente era inexistente y la decoración y las mesas parecían tristes, aún entramos por la puerta con la esperanza de tener una buena comida. Esto resultó ser cualquier cosa menos. El servicio es horrible. Las camareras en realidad no conocen el menú. Nuestra comida tardó unos 4 minutos en llegar, lo que siempre es preocupante. This very friendly restaurant provides tasty Thai food, beautifully presented. We visited on Christmas Eve and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely return.

Fui a este restaurante con familiares y amigos, por recomendación de nuestro amigo. La comida era muy buena y bien presentada. Pedimos plato tailandés tamnag, ensalada Tom sum, curry de verduras verdes tailandesas, gambas con salsa de ajo, chiles y carne de albahaca tailandesa, fideos tailandeses y lubina con salsa de tamarindo y chile dulce. Todos los platos eran muy agradables y muy bien presentados. Definitivamente recomendaría estos platos, excepto los fideos tailandeses pad, que me parecieron normales, sabrosos pero no excepcionales. Las verduras añadidas a todos estos platos parecían frescas. En general, buena comida. ¡Vale intentarlo!

We arrived and were left waiting for 5 minutes before we saw a member of staff. After being seated we waited for 30 m1inutes for someone to take our order. The waitress came to take the food order, then as an after thought and a prompt she took our drinks order. Overall service was not good, there was no polite query as to how the food was, nor was there any one asking if we needed anything else. Once the meal was over, the table was cleared, we asked for the bill and were waiting for over 10 minutes, they had evidently forgotten and we had to ask again. When the bill came we had to query it as we had been charged for something which was listed as unailable and we hadn't even ordered. Initially the waitress said there was nothing she could do so we had to ask for the manager, after waiting for another 10 minutes, the manager came and after some discussion amended the bill which still came to £200 for a meal for 6 people and included a non-voluntary 10% service charge.This was not value for money, the food was mediocre and the service was almost non-existent.I will not be returning.

Sunday evening, we decide to treat our family of 4 for a nice meal out. I should clarify that I rarely complain. If I do it, it's because it's shockingly bad. That's the case.Arrived at the restaurant, we stood waiting at the bar area for member of the staff to give us a table. It took a good 5 minutes. I should have understood the warning signs but I was willing to give it a go.We finally sat down, ready to order but again we had to wait..... we saw that everyone else who arrived after us got their orders taken before us. Fair enough, I thought, they must be busy.After a while a waitress arrived to get our orders, her attitude reminded me of someone who wish to be somewhere else in the world, but not at work. Not really nice really. Advice: Avoid blond waitress with long hair. She took our order, while frowning and looking generally miserable (we were still smiling then and willing to move forward) and after 10 minutes only a soup arrive, No drinks!!! no sign of anything else we ordered. The soup just sat on the empty table, getting cold while we waited 25 minutes for our drinks. Also, to add extra element of a shambolic management, in the background we could hear the same song been played on a loop, it must have gone on for a good 40 minutes, still no sign of our food. We asked the only nice waitress to please put end to our psychological torture and she changed music.Still, after one hour and 10 minutes there was no sign of food. I was getting really annoyed then because my children were starving, plus it was more bedtime than dinner time... Take away bags were flying out of the kitchen, but no food for us.It was only when I stood up and spoke to a member of staff that we finally managed to obtain our meals.I should also specify that I asked the miserable waitress, when I was ordering food, not to put peanut on my daughter's pad thai as she's intolerant. Guess what? Pad thai arrived with peanuts. Luckily she doesn't get severe allergic reaction, but what if she was? What if that dish was given to someone with an allergy? The food overall was ok, but even if that was the best thai food I had in my whole life, I would not go back there even if someone would pay me a million pound.The place was dirty, bathroom doors had stained everywhere, on the bathroom ceiling you could even see that someone at one point had fun throwing a mixture of wet toilet paper which then got stuck to it and become part of it because none had bothered cleaning it. I wonder for how long it has been there . Months, years? Bits of wall and ceiling are coming off in the main restaurant, dust and grease was everywhere. There was only one person in charge of drinks, bills and the endless trail of drivers who came in to collect their just eat take aways.The lady at the bar apologised blaming everything on the fact that our order got lost. Quite pathetic since the table near us was complaining too as they received food and no drinks, others were complaining because they had to wait ages to get their bill.Overall, shambolic. Just eat /take away orders are prioritised over restaurant orders, Dirty, deadly slow service, badly managed, no, no, no, never again. Stay away

We waited very long time before to order and even longer to receive the food. All people arrived after us were eating while we were still waiting.. the food was not too bad.. the worst was at the end when the waitress took out plates and asked if we wanted a dessert, we waited for ages, we had to call them once again before to get the dessert menu (it was a bit busy but not that much) when finally we asked for the dessert and the waitress at 10:50, in a very rude way, said that the kitchen was closing at 11 and that we couldn't get anything! We won't come back for sure!!

I ordered on deliveroo. Very expensive for low quality food. The squid was dripping in oil, the sweet and sour was practically ketchup, and the gyoza looked like someone burnt a cigarette in it. Never again.

Prix raisonnables. Concernant les plats, nous étions satisfaits mais les portions étaient limites pour ma part. Un petit conseil, évitez de payer par carte car mon amie a été prélevée deux fois « par erreur ». Mais sinon, bon restaurant à tester !

I think it’s suffering from complacency, rising costs and lack of innovation, common threats to most restaurants.Service: not friendly, had to prompt for most things (eg no menu on our table so I had to get some), then cheekily added 10% service chargePrice: way too high for Thai food and extortionate for the area. If you charge these prices, your food must be top notch or big portions. This was neither.Quality: much lower than say Imm Thai Fusion, and there are a couple of places down the road that are better. The starters were bland, and in the case of the prawn toast, terrible value. We should have heeded the warnings when the huge restaurant was empty in the middle of lunchtime. All of this could be solved by investing in customer service training, food development and marketing.M

The food was excellent and cannot be faulted as usual but the decor is very tired and the waiters though very efficient could be tidier and the tables are sticky from years of use !

Ordered a few starters and some curries. The starters were not great and I wouldn’t order anything fried from here again, however we had curries for our main which were good. The green prawn curry was lovely, the Penang was nice but only came with peppers.

Buscando un restaurante tailandés cerca de Croydon, todos los locales estaban cerrados durante el almuerzo y ¡teníamos que ir a Norwood! Al final resultó que, fue un excelente accidente. El estacionamiento presenta un problema, pero afortunadamente, un lugar apareció prácticamente fuera del restaurante. La bienvenida fue agradable y tuvimos una elección de mesa. La decoración era decididamente "antigua". Desafortunadamente, aunque el restaurante estaba prácticamente vacío, el servicio fue un poco lento. Sin embargo, cuando llegó la comida era muy sabrosa. La comida sin gluten fue producida fácilmente para mi amigo. Mi amigo pidió palillos y me dieron palillos desechables de madera. La camarera no me consideró. Así que tuve que preguntar de nuevo.

Edad desde que comí comida tailandesa y la esperaba con ansias. Pedimos la selección habitual de entrantes tailandeses compartidos y fue muy pobre. El peor pan tostado de langostinos que he tenido, costillas sin sabor y panecillos de panqueques, todos presentados en una cama de token de lechuga pasada. El plato principal de curry verde tailandés estaba bien. Tenía la sensación de que este gran restaurante ha visto días mejores. Ojalá hubiera probado el tailandés más adelante en la carretera.

Came here 10 years ago when it was good, today it was very disappointing. Prawn tempura and battered sausage style batter and sticky ribs were greasy, flabby and had an unusual sauce flavour. Pad Thai was the sweetest I have ever tasted, was coated in sugar syrup, green Thai prawn curry was grainy and prawns tasted strange. £53 for 2 people, won’t be going back.

Tamnag Thai se estableció a mediados de los 80 s y he venido allí desde los 90 s. Fue una buena cena Fue la mejor comida tailandesa que he comido en Europa, y el personal superó las expectativas. Luego se hizo más grande, y poco después se vendió. Tengo entendido que poco después se vendió de nuevo, y si se ha vendido desde entonces, no lo sé. Sin embargo, lo que sí sé es que a pesar de que la tarjeta del menú se refiere a la buena mesa, mi experiencia no estuvo a la altura de esta categoría en ningún sentido. Mis dos estrellas son debido al personal amable y la comida comestible.

Buscando algo diferente, mi esposa y yo decidimos probar el Tamnag Thai en Crystal Palace, y no nos decepcionó. El ambiente interesante, el restaurante limpio y el servicio servicial hicieron que nuestra experiencia fuera mucho mejor. La comida era muy buena, caliente y bien hecha. Tomé agua del grifo y mi esposa tomó el té, y ambos estábamos satisfechos con nuestra selección de comida, que combinamos y combinamos. Un muy buen almuerzo.

I must admit that some of the reviews I read on here did almost put us off from visiting!

The restaurant itself needs a make over, currently looks dirty. Food is poor and service is appalling. Rude and disinterested staff. Needs major changes before i go back.

A great full menu with lots of help from the staff on Duty. No rush to eat up once you are seated. And the fish dishes are wonderful. All in all a nice restaurant to pop into without notice. Food great service good the bar area is nice and relaxing.

Very bad service on this very quiet evening. The food wasn’t great. How A Thaï restaurant can overcook rice???

After hearing about this restaurants from a couple of my friends, i decided to give it a go. I went there with my husband and toddler son for valentines day lunch. The restaurant was empty. The lone waitress wasn't very encouraging, she never had a smile during our entire stay in the restaurant. The place smelt funny and it clearly needs some renovation. We ordered veg platter for our starters and it felt like fried frozen food. There wasn't anything fresh about it. The main course was comparatively better and felt fresher. My husband had pad thai and i had red curry with drunkard's noodles. The noodle dish was tasty but the red curry lacked any heat or real thai flavours. Nobody came to ask how did we find everything or if we needed anymore drinks or if we wanted to see the desserts menu.The whole experience was a let down and i don't think i would visit there again.

Duck, beef and chicken was all chewy. There were some good flavours but it definitely wasn't worth the price. The staff were ok but could have been a bit friendlier.

La comida fue muy decepcionante. El pato y los panqueques estaban fríos, cuando lo envié de vuelta, se deben poner en el microondas, ya que volvió a secarse rápidamente y sin sabor. El resto de la comida no fue mejor. Más de 100 por mal servicio y mala comida. Tomó años para estar sentado como todos corriendo pero no llegar a ningún lugar a pesar de que teníamos una reserva. Menús sucios con comida dentro. Me encantaba este lugar no volveré.

A favourite of ours for many years but our last two visits have been horrendous. Tonight we on arrival we waited for ages to be acknowledged and then finally seated in a half empty restaurant. The table was sticky and the menus covered in sauce. A visit to the bathroom really told us a lot about the deteriorating standards in general. Hand dryer not working, dirty facilities and a smell of damp coming from mouldy walls in the hallway.

Creo que la gerencia necesita una llamada de atención con todas estas quejas o tal vez no lean Trip Advisor como otras personas. Después de algunos años, volvimos al Tamnag Thai. Nunca nos hemos quejado antes en un restaurante, pero este nos negamos a pagar, de hecho, fue la peor comida que la mayoría terminó en el contenedor o en el plato de otra persona. Hazte un favor, dale un gran puesto que dejamos con hambre y juramos no volver nunca más. Nuestros menús estaban manchados y malolientes.

Situated in a busy part of Crystal Palace, South London, it provides good quality Thai food in a busy but comfortable environment. This restaurant is always busy, especially at weekends so it's advisable to book in advance as well as to arrive with extra time to spare as parking in that area is particularly difficult. The Thai Platter for 2 is a particular favourite providing a variety of Thai nibbles to start your meal. There are also a wide variety of Thai red and green curry dishes ranging from mild to hot to suit all tastes. The Pad Thai Noodles, flavoured with that delicious tamarind sauce is especially popular and is a good option for vegetarians. The Thai Massaman mild curry with chicken, beef or lamb options, served with coconut or jasmine rice is also an often selected dish from the main menu. At very busy times, you may have to wait a little longer than usual to be served but the staff, even though very busy and rushed off their feet, are always friendly and obliging. Overall, an enjoyable dining experience.

The first thing that was bas about this place, is that we waited over half an hour before being attended to, even to be offered drink the wait was well over 15 minutes. We the waitress finally decided to show up, we then waited even loner for our food to arrive. to make matters worse, when the food did arrive i was extremely disappointed. it was too BLAND. then they had the nerve to add service charge. paying service charge for terrible service. i'll never come back to this restaurant, i wouldn't even recommend it.

My brother and i ate here sat 14th july arrived at 10.30pm to a friendly welcome great authentic thai food and drinks. We had weeping tiger and tamarind duck really great food and lovely service. We would definitely return.

Absolutely delicious food 👌 waitresses need to clear your plates sooner but the food is 10/10 and we would definately visit again.

Visité este lugar con mi colega y jefe dos veces y decidimos probar el picante Singapur arroz frito mientras que el brécol al vapor ordenados, kung pao pollo con arroz y huevo frito picante salsa de ternera con el schezwan arroz frito.

Fuimos un sábado por la tarde, así que un poco tranquilo, pero no es un problema. La comida es genial, había 8 de nosotros y nos dieron una variedad de entrantes y platos principales. El mortero tiger era deliciosa, pero la salsa un poco caliente para mi cuñado. Había dos niños en el grupo y me encantó todo excepto uno podía comer todo su plato principal como era una gran porción (pad Thai con gambas). Ser bueno si podían ofrecer comidas pequeñas o de tamaño mediano de arranque. Yo también tenía el pad Thai y era realmente bueno. El personal era amable y atento pero discreto. Lo recomiendo altamente.

First time I've tried this place and I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a Thai yellow curry. Which didn't taste like a normal yellow more like a green. There was no spice I would expect yellow to be spicy. The potatoes were hard in the middle and grey coloured. The chicken was pinkish purple and I got a bit of gristle when I bit into it. Granted the order came extremely fast, but this batch cooking and heating up in microwaves just isn't cutting it. I threw my food away and wasted nearly £20 if you include tip and delivery charge. Honestly I've joined tripadvisor to leave this review. I wish I looked here before ordering. Never again.

We decided to have a pre Christmas Eve dinner at very short notice. I hadn't been to this restaurant for a couple of years so it was nice to revisit the establishment. The restaurant looks as though it's been extended.

Las tostadas de gambas y tempura eran bastante buenos, como era el pato, pero el satay fue una verdadera decepción. Para el plato principal que tenía el pad Thai con gambas y el pollo con anacardos. Las dos eran bastante buenas. El servicio era bueno y no había que esperar mucho para cualquiera de los campos que es sin duda una mejora de lo que solía ser. Tamnag Tailandés fue siempre ir a restaurante tailandés en el área de Crystal Palace y ahora es simplemente otro restaurante tailandés a mí también lo que es una vergüenza. This restaurant is very good. Appropriate design and atmosphere. Food was totally delicious. Only one minus that in evenings it was always crowded. Also staff were busy with delivery so for some time didn't pay attention to us and we needed to wait. But after all it worth it.

I had prawn noodles which were so bland and chew it was disgusting which I sent back after two/three forkfuls. My wife had cashew chicken that I could have made with more flavor.

We were in the Westow Hill area, so decided to eat here. We ate early so the restaurant was almost empty. The restaurant was clean, staff attentive and nice music. We both had the Red Thai Curry with brown rice. The food and the portion size was good. The staff were lovely and were always around without 'being there', if you understand. I had the house wine which was very good, my girlfriend had a cocktail. My only negative point was the hand dryer in the gents loo was not working.

Our dinner was excellent - varied, excellent dishes, very good and helpful serving staff. We would certainly visit again. Portions were very generous, Interesting decor, with inverted parasols lining the ceiling, which we think led to the packed restaurant being not over noisy. An excellent experience.

The food was really good and good sized portions. Service was average. The decor was interesting. The thing that got to me was that there was a weird smell that wafted in our direction occasionally. It wasn't terribly bad, just a bit off.

We went in here as it has good reviews on Tripadvisor and came away wondering how. Thai food came to prominence on its clean, sharp tastes so much better than the cloying mass produced blandness that passes for Chinese food these days. This place is more Chinese than Thai in that regard. The food was bland stuff, tasting of jars bought from Chinese supermarkets and then watered down. My wife ordered the most expensive item and was presented 4 king prawns along a selection of broccoli, carrot and cauliflower that looked- and tasted - like they had fetched it from the Iceland down the street. My chili-holy-basil looked like a black bean sauce with chili sauce.And yet, it was priced like a top fresh place. 2 mains, two rice and 2 beers, £50!Service automatically added to make it difficult to refuse, the waitress took our plates then came and wiped down the table while we were still sat at it! Beware, London, your Thai food is under attack from the Chinese emporiums.

used to be the best Thai restaurant I have been to. they have changed management in past few years. manageress rude. atmosphere gone. décor drab and food of very bad quality that when you receive the right dish. please some one rescue this place and bring it back from the dead. awful place now. I ordered duck and pancakes for starter. it was stone cold. they took it and it was clearly put in micro wave. that made the duck quite rubbery. waited ages to be served . jasmine rice was not the same as years ago. infact it was poorly made boiled rice.

We arrived at the restaurant at 8 o'clock and was promptly shown to our table, ordered drinks that came quickly. The menus are well thumbed but the dishes on it sounded delicious. I visited Tamnag Thai yesterday evening , it was by far the worst experience I have ever had eating out. I have never written a review before but I felt compelled to do so as this was such a harrowing experience. From the moment we walked I the door the owner was incredibly rude and dismissive, we were sat on an awful table and then requested to move, we then waited 35 minutes for a drink !! We bought a bottle of Sauvignon blank for £24, it was vile, we considered how the restaurant owners could contrive to buy such an awful quality of wine. Our meals eventually and we're equally repulsive. We very politely pointed out that we were not happy with our meals, the manageress basically told us off, then snatched a plate without saying anything and stormed off and let us sit there. I really can't put in to words how bad this restaurant is, but the most unkindest cut of all is the price !! The meals are ridiculously expensive for the incredibly poor quality. This restaurant should be closed immediately.

I am a true admirer of Thai food and in the Cristal Palace area you a have a few choices, so I opted for Tamnag Thai, having tried it before some time ago. Well, I could not have made a worst choice! The food was so terrible, I will not hesitate to rate it my worst Thai meal ever. I could have done a better service to my stomach going to the worst corner takeaway and would have saved some cash. After the tasteless starter it took them over one hour to bring the main course and the restaurante was far from full! My three children love Thai food and after the first mouthfool refused to eat any more.Every single dish was simply appalling from starter to desert, with a service to match, and in the end they made it a point that I had to pay 10% service charge!All in all a true rip off and the worst eating experience ever. Avoid, avoid! Only go in if you are in danger of immediate starvation.

My friend booked Tamnag Thai for her birthday meal and I was a little apprehensive after checking the reviews on here. However, we had a great time! The portion sizes were very generous and tasted great. One of my friends even said it was the best sweet and sour chicken she'd ever had. I had the veggie pad Thai and although not the absolute best ever, it was still really nice (I always like it when they include tofu and they did). I think we would all definitely go again. Not to mention the parasol ceiling is very instagramable!!!

OMG what has happened to Tamnaj Thai. The food is now worst than cafe standard. I went there begining of April. The coconut rice was just boiled rice. I mentioned this to the staff. A male. He said "well what to you want me to do about it" i said "well if you dont know the answer theres no hope" my thai curry was oily so left more than half of it! Prawns overcooked like rubber! Waitress who served us did not smile once! Not surprised it was empty in there even though it was a thursday evening! On top of that they gave us the bill with i think it was 12.5% service charge. i informed the waitress to take the service charge off due to the service and standard of the food. For 5 mins she tried to argue that it is compulsory. Myself and my guest basically said take it off we are not paying it. She grudgingly took off the service charge with a look of hate on her face. Would not go there again! waste of money!

Don't bother ordering from here! Total waste of money - food tasted like card board! Zero flavour. Possibly the worst Thai meal I have ever eaten. Highly disappointed with the portions sizes, quality and flavours. Feel very cheated of my well earned money. Pad Thai ha ... super noodles would have been better quality. How they can get away with serving this level of poor quality takeaway is beyond me.

My wife and I used to love going to this place and took friends there. So after a long time we tried the restaurant again yesterday - a big mistake. Ordered take away. Pricy and poor quality. The Pad Thai was uneatable; no flavour at all. My jungle curry was drowning in oil. The shredded duck was just okay and the coconut rise was nice. Won't go there again. The complete empty restaurant at 7 pm on a Sunday is a clear giveaway.

Best Thai restaurant in the area in my opinion! Travelled around Thailand a few times and the food here is authentic, tasty and good value. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. They have new management since my last visit. Highly recommended!

I used to rate this restaurant as one of the best Thai's you could go to a few years ago. The food was magical. But not now. It looks the same but on two counts something has changed.Firstly, the food is now of such a low standard I wondered why the empty seats when I came for a group meal. That's because the food is simply overcooked, cheap and not worth the money now. Secondly, I remember the staff being more attentive but not now. I will not be back

This used to be our favourite restaurant in the triangle and our annual treat as it is mega expensive! The place was packed. We were seated and brought menus quickly so all seemed well. Drinks were brought, wine at £22 a bottle! We then waited.....and waited....and waited! Eventually, the starters arrived, mixed platter. Some were cold and others red hot. A waiter wanted to clear our plates while we were still eating! Then the waiting time continued. We had to ask where our food was in the end. We went in at 19.30 and got our mains at 21.30! Bill for 2 £90! Never again!

Unfortunately I feel compelled to write this review after A disastrous experience. I have been visiting this restaurant for a number of years travelling from Wimbledon. On this occasion we had booked to go for a birthday meal and were let down by the atrocious service! Sadly after recommending this restaurant to our party involved expectations were high . As soon as we were all seated we had to ask for menus and were left unattended for a long period of time. Considering the restaurant was partially full we waited a total of three hours to have our food arrive in dribs and drabs with some of our guests not getting their starters furthermore then having to remind staff of our order! We tried to make the best of a bad situation and enjoy the food which was lovely I have to say. Upon asking for the bill it arrived with a 10% service charge which we were obviously unhappy about paying we were met with death stares from the employees and an aggressive lady who appeared to be the manager was completely unhelpful and unapologetic. If not for the poor customer service we wouldn't of felt so disgruntled. Considering we were celebrating a special occasion the extra mile to make sure we were looked after and happy with our whole experience wasn't made . To top of the disgusting behaviour toward us over the bill which I note we paid . The staff then proceeded to point and stare at us clearly speaking in their language about us. I visited Thai restaurants all over the world and visited Thailand myself and have never experienced such abominable service . There is absolutely no excuse for how we were treated without an apology I certainly will never visit here again or recommend it to anybody. A lot of money was wasted this night and it is apparent the lack of management and training in British service and restaurant etiquette has overshadowed the glorious food when you actually get it! If you want to be treated like a second class citizen with unequivocally bad service then this is the place for you . Don't waste you time or money on this place!

This used to be my favourite Thai restaurant in London. For the last 6-7 years it's been our go to place, Unfortunately it's just not very good anymore. I keep going back in case it is a one off but unfortunately I think last night will be the last time we go.Service is always efficient and polite absolutely no problem.Food yesterday I had my favourite dish crispy chilli duck with egg fried riceEgg fried rice had pieces of cling film in it and was this weird dry mass straight out of the microwave.My duck which usually comes sizzling, melt in mouth spicy hot dish Came out luke warm cold with bits of old dry fatty duck in soft batter, it's the first time ever I have sent food back 5 min later the same food came out now very hot but still super unappetising I didn't eat itSuch such a shame Recommendation unfortunately is give them a miss you will for 2 people pay around 60 pounds sitting in a cold restaurant eating bland, not very tasty food there is so many better restaurants in Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace has a good selection of places to eat but I think its the best place ,especially compared to the other Thai places on the same street/areas.service is prompt and friendly and very decent sized portions.my guest has an allergy and they made a huge effort to do a dish she wanted but to her specifications.an excellent place

After being disappointed with Thai Crystal and walking out. My boyfriend and I decided to try Tamnag Thai across the road. The food was really good. The waiter was very sweet and polite, she asked us if we were happy with the food and if we needed anything else. The food had flavor and was presented well. The only thing missing was a bowl of hot water with lemon to wash our hands with after eating finger foods. My boyfriend and I was having such a wonderful New Year day, chatting away. An America couple saw what we were eating and asked us a few questions, and then a long conversation begin. When you're dining in a good environment, you're more happier and you spend more.

If you're short staffed - make sure the team you do have are pleasant to customers. Waited for a long time on a Saturday evening just to get a glass of water. Rude, abrupt service which means we will not return even though the food is so good! Such a shame.

We thought we'd give Thamnag Thai a go again since it used to be the best Thai in the Triangle - but that was a mistake. The rice was overcooked (just a sludge), the vegetables for the crispy duck were dry and old, the sweet and sour sauce was disgusting and the crispy duck itself was old and a rather strange colour. It is such a pity this place has gone downhill so much. Never again.

On 10th Dec me & my bestie went here. The restuarnt was spotless, the staff were over polite, freindly and extremley well turned out. The food was fantanstic, really lovely. Worth every pound! Would definatley recommend. Hence our first visit but upon speaking to others this is not a one off. You will not be disapp ointed

This place masquerades as a Thai restaurant but neither the food or service deserves that status. We ate here a few weeks ago. It was a random stop to 'try something different' in the Triangle. It started off ok. We ordered spicy prawn crackers and a variety of mains with egg fried rice as a side dish. The crackers were good... The mains all tasted the same - and not like the Thai food I was used to (full of flavour and spice). The Tamarind duck was drenched in honey. It should be renamed honey with duck.The egg fried rice came out late. It was also cold and very very dry. We asked the waiter what the problem was he bought a replacement. This time it was hot. It was only then we realised what the issue was - they had replaced Thai rice with basmati (Indian rice). By now we just wanted to get out of there. We asked them why the rice was made this way and asked for our bill. No answer re. the rice. The least they could do is remove the price of the rice. They refused. When we asked to have a word with the manager he/she refused to come out and speak with us. Instead, the waiter came back with a new bill and said they had given us a discount.We looked at the bill and they had removed the service charge! What an insult. Still, the manager wouldn't come out and explain what the issue with removing the rice is.Eventually, after a terrible meal, ruining a family gathering and arguing with the Tamnag Thai staff they relented.

Decor tired ambiance gone , food was good, but....we ordered a pad Thai with our meal got a rice dish , which we served ourselves then realised it wasn't pad Thai ,, we told them and they eventually came with it at the end of the meal ,, we could not eat it all so asked them to pack it to take home .. which they did , the rest of the food we enjoyed ,, but don't think I personally will return there ...

It used to be my favourite Thai restaurant in London, then I gave it the benefit of doubt on a couple of ocasions, and today I confirmed my suspicions; it is average at best.I have been going to this icon of Cristal Palace food for over ten years, but I fear that today was my last, unless I hear that the previous management is coming back.The friendliness is not the same, and the charm is gone along with the quality of the food. What a shame!

I love Thai food so for a birthday meal we went, here. Party of 12. The dishes I tried were great. Had Platter starter for 2 which included chicken satay Spring rolls prawn goat hot wings and fish cakes. The main was very spicy. Drunkards NoodlesDrinks were also nice.They also accomodated Birthday cake

Walk in off street after day in London as several people in eating and couldn't find Indian we were looking for. Big mistake.Service was good but very non personal, atmosphere non existent, toilets very poor.... In gents two handbasins which one had taps and the other non, electric hand dryer not working and toilet roll offered to dry hands!!!!Starters ok, main poor, rice was pure stodgy and worst in twenty years I've had in Thai restaurant, wine ok but that came from sealed bottle. Overall was a poor meal and certainly won't return. Be advised service charge included at 10% is optional as we didn't pay this.Would I return.....NO!
