Tamarind Tredegar in Blaenau Gwent

Had the tandoori mixed grill, was beautiful, also had a naan and rice but forget what they were called, but they were spot on too. Prices are very reasonable and the cobra larger pairs perfect with a Indian. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will deffo be back again.

The meat was processed cubes of meat, disgusting. The prawns were off too. The staff were very rude and the place is scruffy. One eatery to definitely AVOID.

Have food from here once a week always spot on, best about. Tonight I had a different dish, only 4 bits of beef in the curry. Still very very tasty though. Also no change offered off the delivery driver

Some of the dishes were OK but a couple were terrible especially the chicken massala ,sauce just wasn't right, vegetable curry didn't have much of a taste either, over cooked,staff friendly enough but wouldn't rush to go back

This is the 2nd visit here and was as good as the 1st. Quality ingredients, friendly staff and good value. Portions were large and prices low. We live in Aberfan and travel there to collect. Deffo the best Indian we have had in Wales since moving here 2 years ago.. Excellent.....

Looking forward to a decent curry whilst travelling away on business Starter of sheik Kebab very reasonably priced but dry and obviously pre prepared and warmed up My main course of Mugla chicken with egg and mince was again reheated as chicken dry Vegetable of potato and spinach inedible, dry and tasteless. When I said this was told this is how their locals like it, and agreed was not correct or authentic Shame, and for me a waste of money

We have two meals in the roll as they are too good not to visit again. Lamb shank is definitely 10/10, fresh, tender, and flavoured. Starter dip is excellent too. Price is friendly, service is 10/10. Very enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

We regularly visit this restaurant and have never had a bad meal! The staff are so friendly and efficient, the restaurant itself is lovely! My wife and I visited yesterday evening and had another fantastic meal! My wife had a chicken tikka masala with pilau rice and I had a house special biryani, with a madras sauce, both meals were beautiful! The food was full of flavour, it was well cooked and in big portions. The meal, which also included 4 poppadoms, a chutney tray, a pint of Kingfisher and a glass of wine came to £36.80, outstanding value for money! Give this venue a try, you won’t be disappointed!

We live just up the road from the Tamarind. Lucky us! We usually get take away but have called in to collect it many times. A large restaurant with plenty of space inside. The food is always very good, highly recommended.

We work every weekend all over Europe and often like to sample a decent curry on our travels. This place did not disappoint! We didn’t book as we were unsure how busy or popular the place would be as the restaurant is in a seemingly small town! We tried our luck anyway and upon entry realised that this is a very busy and popular restaurant. The food was beautiful and the service friendly. You can tell that these guys care about their food. I had the Green Tandoori Chicken off the bone which was infused with chilli and lime 🤩🤩😋😋 an outstanding dish! The bill was also half of what we’re used to paying most other places which was worthy of a victory dance 💃🏽 I’m almost hoping we work in the Welsh Valley’s again soon so we can come back! A must for the travelling curry connoisseur 🤩

Though the ambience is nice and the restaurant is good in size, they would treat you well only when the order is high. The staff just literally served the breads on the table with a force instead of gracefully placing them on the table . It is firstly a Balti/Bangladeshi restaurant and not an Indian restaurant! The food is pathetic as they serve old meat (chicken). It is flavored, colored and cooked with so much spices that only few can find out that the meat is old and smelly. When mentioned about this to the chef and the senior staff, they were very rude and neglected to take the feedback. They forcefully argued and claimed that it is good. Be very close to the food industry sector and from the place India itself, we were able to spot the color, taste, and rubbery texture and smell of the meat. The award that they showcase looks to so fake for the quality being served. Absolutely unprofessional staff and service. The food here is reheated several times and served! With the lack of largely seated Indian restaurants around, this restaurant stands out due to the ambience and the amount of flavor these use. But the quality is utter rubbish!

This is by far the best tasting Indian food we've had. The restaurant is modern and impeccably clean. The waiters were very friendly and professional and plenty of variety on the menu. Sadly we've got to return back to Australia but will definately be back in the future.

Food.was great, atmosphere was wonderful but what stood out was the staff. I have never eaten anywhere that the staff was so friendly. My first time having Indian food and it was an experience of a life time thanks to the staff. Would recommend 10/10!!!
