I visited here whilst in Manchester over night. After googling top rated coffee shops within Manchester, this was at the top of the list. It had a very relaxed trendy feeling, plenty of seating to choose from & some lovely artwork as per one of my photos. Staff were attentive, coming to the table to take orders. I only went for a “dirty chai”, however the food I saw people eating looked very appealing.

Un poquito caro, pero es una opción tranquila para desayunar. El local no tiene un gran encanto, pero el café, bollería y pasteles estan buenos

Delicious brunch here. Food was great, good coffee and very charming staff. Had to wait for our table but that was fine, and we had a take away coffee whilst we waited. Smashed avocado was a highlight.

First time visiting today, lovely ice cold coffee lattes and delicious home made cakes, very reasonably priced and although we were a little late we were in no way rushed. Will definitely be returning

I ordered my coffee by phone from the table but after five minutes it had not progressed from 'created' to 'accepted' so I had to chase the staff. It came with a gracious apology and a complimentary chocolate brownie. After one mouthful I decided it was too rich and filling for 3.30pm so left the rest untouched, planning to take it home in a paper serviette. The employee spotting the uneaten brownie then offered a card box to take it home in - that is what I call customer service. The flat white is the best on Oxford Road.

Missed Takk over lockdown and was really looking forward to going back. I love the atmosphere and coffee, and usually the staff are lovely. However, on my recent visit the woman working was so rude! A customer asked a question about how to scan the qr code to order food - which I thought was very acceptable, as I couldn't get it to work and many people don't know how you are meant to order using a qr code. The woman working replied with such a horrible tone saying that if she could do it then the customer could -very unhelpful and unnecessarily rude. For the rest of my time in the cafe i felt uncomfortable and I could hear her slagging off all the customers loudly. I felt unwelcome and it was such a shame she was so unapproachable. I was scared to ask for a glass of water! It was a quiet day and I felt, as someone who works in hospitality too, that her attitude was unacceptable. I feel really put off going to the University Green Takk again.

I work at the University and I often used to come here on my lunchtime, the food is very nice. However the past few times I've been in, either with my friend or my partner the vibe has been completely ruined by a waitress with a chip on her shoulder and a strange superiority complex it would seem. Completely unneccessarily rude and patronizing. I accidentally took someone else's order and as soon as I realised I alerted them and apologised for thinking it was mine and she told me off like I was a little child. I'm a reasonable person so if it had just been that I would have given her the benefit of the doubt, customer service is stressful, i know im in a customer facing job myself but she had been rude to my partner the day before so I had lost all sympathy by that point. It is a real shame because its out of character because generally the people are lovely in there but i wont be going back in there any time soon.

My friend and I decided to try Takk for breakfast before our morning lecture, and what a great experience it was! The atmosphere inside this coffee shop it great, it was very calm, peaceful, and relaxing with soothing background music and minimalist Scandinavian-style decor. The concept of the cafe itself is great - you go up and order yourself, and there’s a little self-clear section for cutlery and carafes of water etc, but then they serve your food to you on proper plates - the perfect mix of high-low. The menu itself is reasonably extensive and well-priced, and there are lots of cakes and pastries on the counter as well, which look good and are also reasonably priced, if I remember correctly. The staff we encountered were all polite, friendly, and efficient. I ordered the poached eggs on sourdough toast, and what arrived was exceptional value for only £5-ish pounds: two perfectly poached eggs topped with black pepper and sprigs of greenery on a thick slice of perfectly-toasted sourdough from a local bakery topped with warm melted butter. It was beautifully presented and very filling, great value for only £5. My friend ordered the ‘university green’ breakfast salad, with which you get a choice of two additional toppings (she chose halloumi and avocado) for £10-ish. The salad that arrived was huge and looked fantastic - great value for money. When she was unable to finish it all the staff happily agreed to box up the rest for her. Overall, I had a wonderfully relaxed dining experience at this cafe, the staff were brilliant and the food was delicious, well-priced, and well-portioned. I highly recommend Takk, and look forward to visiting again to try something different on the menu!

Great coffee, fast Wi-fi and awesome menu for when you decide to stay for lunch. I worked for a couple of hours with a colleague in Manchester by train

Nestled in the heart of the university campus, Takk does indeed offer artisan coffee. Quality not quantity. I had the cappuccino, which is like a certain chains flat white. Although, it could have been hotter, for some reason it was just warm. Didn't have food, but the menu looks top notch, which means I'll have to come back😁
