Not quite sure what is going on with Trove in Levenshulme, its been going steadily downhill since they opened in Ancoats. Disappointing as it's been a high point for so long. Todays pastries weren't any better than the ones from a supermarket and it's been hit and miss whether there would be any available for a while now. Hopefully it'll be back to it's old glory soon. 🤞

To the owner: This place would be great if you paid your employees on time. Respecting the contract is your minimum obligation. Since you are ignoring their emails, this is the only way to reach you.

We visited Trove for coffee on Saturday. Coffee was delicious and I was able to have a treat being gluten intolerant. The Irish guy behind the bar was a ray of sunshine and was so attentive to us. Would defiantly recommend!

Came for a late brunch on Saturday 11/05. Amazing cocktails, great recommendations on food and the Manager was excellent.

Single handedly the best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had and I’ve been drinking them for 2 decades. The kimchi brine is the perfect flavour pairing. Food is amazing, real thought and love has gone into their menu. Eat here.

They take service charge without any previous notice. For me it's an unfair and forced tip and that's one of the reasons I won't come back there.

Recent reviews say it all - this place has some serious supply issues. The white sourdough I managed to get was good, but no croissants or any other pastry at 11am on Saturday...? The other time we visited, they were out of stock too.

This place is closed when it supposed to be open.Went there 4/5 times for sour dough and it’s always finished. The chubby guy with a beard is rude has no customer service. Simply says no sourdough in a monotone voice with no apology everytime.

You're a bakery. Where is the bread? If you're going to move all the baking to Ancoats at least make a vague attempt to supply Levenshulme with the bread on time. Or at all. I've given up trying now, Long Bois can have my business.

Hadn't been here for a while, but went again today and the atmosphere has changed. Service was a bit disorganised and dismissive. Still has nice food, coffee wasn't so good.

Shame they don’t have any vegan options as I could only have lovely coffee. Customer service 10/10 absolutely fantastic! Very friendly,easy going,polite and I love their fashion style too! Place is dog and pram friendly ^:^

When you pay through the teeth for coffee, (almost £4) especially one that is already this small, to receive 2 coffees that aren’t at least pretending to be full really isn’t on. Not to mention every time I come in, if it’s the tall blond guy at the till he literally doesn’t say a single word to me, not even a hello. I give him my order, he presses the buttons on the till and walks away silently, then when he finished making my half full coffees doesn’t even let me know they’re done and just leaves them sitting there. If ever it’s anyone else at the till they’re perfectly lovely and I never have a complaint with the coffee, but more often than not it’s this guy. After the first few times I figured that sometimes people have a bad day, but it’s every single time I go in at this point. I don’t leave reviews but I dropped £13 on coffee and pastries, which is damn expensive, and having worked in coffee for 8 years of my life I understand perfectly how easy it is to give people a customary “hello”; to fill their coffee cup; and let them know their order is ready, even if I’m in the most foul mood.

Was looking forward to going for brunch this morning with my friend, a staff member was very rude with us as we approached the door. Once we sat down to look at the the menu, the majority of food options weren’t available. Disappointing experience.

Disappointed with today's visit. Limited choice, weird and chaotic service, OK food - just not what I expected after visiting before. Not great value, and won't be going back.

Just went to get pastries. Were not fresh yet still the same cost, Got home and it was clear these were yesterdays as i have bought these many times. Don't normally post reviews but this has REALLY annoyed me as they have charged full price for old, stale pastries. Not the product i would expect from Trove and will be spending my money elsewhere now, Long Bois, la chouquette. Plenty of places selling fresh pastries. VERY disappointed.

Trove have lost it. Been going here (Levenshulme) since they first opened. Went on Sunday, they have 3 single cakes in the cabinet at 12noon. We wait for a table even though the place is mainly empty. get sat down 5-10 mins later and we're told there's no bacon or sausages. OK, we'll manage. So we go back over the menu then place our order. Eggs florentine. 5 mins later waitress returns: sorry there's no cavallo Nero for the florentine. We can serve it without and won't charge full price. Ok can we have the french toast? sorry no french toast today. Maybe get a sign outside to say all you have is eggs and bread then we wouldn't have bothered waiting for a table and being drip fed the news that you have no food. End result: sat in a cold cafe with over salted over priced scrambled eggs on burnt toast. I'd put my last bad experience here down to chance. Honestly, can't see myself ever returning. Manchester is full of competition and places grateful for the customers.

Went here for a second time for takeaway after having sat in before and enjoyed the food. Ive been a barista for about 7yrs, and though i dont like to be fussy about coffee the americano i recieved was very poor. Super sour, and weak. Not sure what happened as Allpress coffee is usually really good. The service was honestly disappointing. I waited at the bar for several minutes and wasnt spoken to. I ordered, then wasnt told where to collect, so I just had to hope I was waiting in the right spot. I understand a bad day, but no simple "hello!" was a shame as youre paying a premium for the coffee. edit:thank you for responding. this was on Monday 15 Jan just before midday.

FLOP!! Not sure what happened to this place but came on Saturday for brunch. The place was freezing cold inside, sat in our jackets to eat. Food was cold too, drinks late and staff forgetful. The once well stocked selection of pastries was non existent. Will give it a miss from now on. 👎🏼

really disappointed - french toast seemed to be missing the egg ingredient, altogether not up to previous standard in ingredients, preparation and presentation.., place was cold and loud...

Vegans and vegetarian beware confirm your order....ordered vegan breakfast with vegan sausage and gave us meat sausage and made us pay for full breakfast very rude customer service no apology.....please be careful horrible place with no courtesy. All Regilious and Vegans avoid it in all case.

Have come in a couple of times for my morning coffee and the happy Irish man behind the counter is always a refreshing start to the day. Cappucino's pretty tasty as well!

Trove was recommended because of the pastries. Unfortunately, there and been a glitch and there weren't any. However, the coffee was good, but expensive. £3.70 for a flat white.

Popped in for a coffee the other week and my lovely server Mikey was brilliant! Also bought a loaf of sourdough for my family and they loved it. Will 100% be back

I am so glad Trove is now open till late! It means I can treat myself after work. I have to say that the staff there is absolutely fantastic, amazing food and atmosphere. The only downside is that the pastries are sometimes burnt (or I am just really unlucky) so for the price I kind of expect better. Otherwise you are in for a treat. Also I wish they had normal hot chocolate too. I had pita bread and hummus then ordered ndjula pizza, both were very delicious. I also strongly recommend egg Florentine

16£ for an eggs Benedict with two extra eggs , there was only a little sauce on the plate two small pieces of dry bacon and a dry bread , you are charging premium prices make sure you serve premium food to, service was good understaff . This used to be an amazing breakfast place obviously you built you name and don’t care anymore simply shocking…

The blondie and chocolate brownie were equally incredible-not too sweet and full of flavours.

Fabulous cafe/bakery. Good coffee but the stars of the show are the pickled raisin sausage rolls , off the scale . Good sourdough as well .

We popped by for a quick lunch and we enjoyed a very nice plate of eggs benedict cooked to perfection. Highly recommended

Went for a late lunch, had the seasonal specials: fennel sausage and Turkish green eggs - delicious. Love their rye and fennel bread. Too bad most of the cakes were sold out. Next time!

Delicious and really friendly staff

French toast was good with seasonal ingredients so today it was with baked apples and crumble. Something a bit different to the usual berries! Expensive though at £11.99 as its not a huge portion

One of my favourite places in Levenshulme, you can't go wrong with the coffee and bread. This place started in front of me around 2010s and it is so nice to see that it has grown so much over the years. Nice little place with an artsy vibe about it.

First visit today. Had a fantastic Vegan breakfast,taste and presentation excellent.Staff nice,very friendly,quick service. Really enjoyed the visit and will be back.

The staff were so kind, love the food I ordered egg florentine ; loved it. I ordered kimcheese as well it wasn’t that good tbh but my friend loved it .

We used to come here regularly, until they decided to change their oat milk from Oatly. I don’t understand why anyone would switch from using Oatly which is pretty much a standard across all independents and massively alters the flavour. Please let us know when you decide to use Oatly again and we will happily return. The pastries are probably the best in the game however … sorry pollen

It's not everyday that you are made to feel unwanted by a local business. Maybe there is an active policy of rejecting 'certain types' of people at Trove? Let's say that my protected characteristics felt like an impediment to equality. No cash payments either which is another bugbear and equally distressing. Maybe trove in levi should accept that there are many people that have been here long before trove was and were really happy to see them set up shop here. And they pay cash and maybe not entirely monochromatic....?

I ordered a special brew and came cold. I asked if they could heat it up a little bit and they refused because that particular coffee should be at that temperature. My bad I thought I could drink the coffee the freaking way I like it. Also had some eggs Benedict that came cold. Perhaps the owner should open an ice cream parlor.

Food and coffee ok but prices ridiculous and service slow . 30 odd quid for coffees cakes and a couple of snacks. Just not that special for the prices and for this we sat on wooden stools on busy road !

Not eaten in since the refurb, but regularly drop in to buy pastries or bread. I feel like Trove have upped their pastry game since the arrival of Long Bois - there are always too many great-looking options so it's hard to choose what to have! The crubes are always a good shout though.

Very welcoming and friendly staff, a proper neighbourhood cafe. You can tell they care about the food, it's a carefully thought out menu and delicious food.

I found the service amazing , the guy (a tall boy) welcoming and very energetic. The breakfast ( I had poached eggs and bacon on a toast ) was not so good. Bacon very dry and eggs not so ‘poached’ . I put 5 stars for the service.

Love the aesthetics! Perfect place for catchup with friends and the staff are so friendly🤍 definitely a go to coffee spot from now on thank you x

I have visited Trove with some friends for breakfast, and the three of us were amazed of the beauty of the display of pastry and cakes!!! We had croissant and pan of chocolate and my friend tried the cramberrie and celeriac cake, everything tested so divine and I came back the day after for some more, this time we tried the cherry cake..really,really good too! Well done to the team that create such a beauty!!! Thank you!

The new fit-out of Trove looks lovely, and the food is as good as it was before, if not better. However the cafe area is absolutely freezing - I went in today but had to change my plans as within 10 mins I was so chilly I had to put my hat, coat and scarf back on, and my feet were like ice. People at surrounding tables also commented on how cold it was, and kept their coats on. The staff advised that improvements to the temperature are underway and I really hope this happens soon so that the community can continue to enjoy Trove.

Lovely little spot in Levenshulme which is known for its loaves but it has so much more to offer. The service is quick and very friendly, you can book a table which is a bonus and there are high chairs available too. The French toast was a croissant loaf topped with plums, custard and almonds which was delicious due to the contrasting flavours and textures. To drink, I had the sea salt hot chocolate which had a chai flavour too. Plenty of sweet and savoury treats to take out too, I went for the vegan pecan brownie and the hazelnut and butterscotch blondie. The blondie tasted out of this world. The gingerbread croissant caught my eye too!

The person driving your ford transit van almost ran me and my young child off the motor way. It started whenThey crossed over double solid white lines stopping me from merging on to the motor way. I beeped at the driver and they allowed me to merge right after this they were were less then 2 meters away from my car leaving Hardly any room trying to intimidate. This happened from the eccels junction over barton bridge on the m60 up to the sale junction. Although I was trying to allow them to pass traffic didnt allow although obvious the driver didnt let up forcing me to speed up. I gave way and went in the middle lane and let him pass so instead of driving on they swerved from the right land to the middle lane no indicators slammed on causing me to slam on then making the car behind me almost crash into me they then swerved back into the right lane again and sped off. Either the driver is drunk or has anger issues. Luckily my dash cam was running not the best thing to do in a fully sign written van

As much as I Love Trove and am so happy it’s back open the service for takeaway coffee in a relatively quiet Sunday afternoon was SO slow. The guys in Ancoats need to train the levy team up a bit. Stop chatting if people are waiting and get the brews made.

Booked today for brunch and had such a lovely meal. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I have a food allergy and both front of house and kitchen staff made sure I could be catered for, despite it being a busy Saturday service. Thanks so much Trove!

Called in just for a coffee, had a lovely breakfast. I'm coeliac, and wasn't originally planning on eating, but the waiter was able to suggest doing the vegan breakfast without toast. Delicious. Lovely atmosphere, staff really know their stuff.

Atmosphere is nice, however the meal portion was quite small for the price. Reduced Menu, & in general not much option on there. Coffee's were forgotten about also, ikea cups..... not the one Generally did enjoy it there though- would go back, do recommend to try for yourself.

Please, not need for things like this to happen. Fix it.

Called today won’t be going again, Ordered soup beetroot & horseradish Came out it looked like somebody had emptied a jar of pickled beetroot in to a bowl and warmed it up! 3 pea sized blobs of what I thought might be hot horseradish (tasteless) coffee was weak no crema on top? Explained to the young lady waiting on that I thought soup was liquid and it wasn’t for me. She was understanding in her taking of feedback and said she would pass on to chef (term used loosely) I then had to sit while the chef sulked and stood giving me daggers till I left! If you can’t take the heat! Still gave 3 stars as my wife enjoyed hers and great service from waitress.

Reduced menu = no hot vegan options. £2 for a tea bag and extra on top for oat milk. Dirty IKEA glasses for table water. Slow service to round it off. Won't be returning

Been for breakfast today had for French toast with poached pears and mascarpone the best ever the staff were very helpful will be back again to try more of their lovely food

Always great service and fantastic food, we had booked in for breakfast this morning and were initially disappointed to find out they were out of their usual french toast (it was pretty much why we made the reservation having not dined in at trove since the start of the pandemic). The staff went out of their way to make us another version. The Coffee obviously also great and they make what my partner rates as the best chai latte too.

Can’t describe in words how delicious the food was I ordered Vegan breakfast & it was 😋 highly recommend this place will definitely be visiting again 👍

Eggs Florentine was delicious. Everything on the plate was bang on. The Miso hollandaise sauce was great too. Wanted to link my plate. Not cheap but then again was a cut above and worth it for the quality.

Not the best. Very limited menu, expensive drinks. Interior was like sitting in an IKEA showroom. Food was OK, just very overpriced for such a limited menu.

Most expensive cafe I've ever been to over priced for a bacon butty and it was small had to wait outside for just over half an hour what a joke definitely never going to go back plus the people there are rude

Im a vegetarian so i tried the eggs Florentine, was a little disappointed. I got two poached eggs that were tiny, one was cooked, and the other had that under cooked slime around it. NO SAUCE🤔Unfortunately felt like there was more bread than eggs. The greens tasted good, but like any greens went cold quick. Would maybe try the vegan breakfast next time. The hot chocolate went cold very quickly. For the money I was left unforfilled👎 Better luck next time maybe 😅

Ordered a last minute hazelnut & caramel celebration cake for our Elopement to the Isle of Skye back in April. Highly recommended, really nicely decorated and was absolutely delicious! Thanks team Trove!

Honestly the best breakfast at a cafe I've had in so many years. Would highly recommend the vegan breakfast. It isn't just a typical veggie sausages and baked beans, it's a whole different style of food with things I wouldn't expect such as tahini, panisse and pickled mushrooms, which all work so well with the thick sourdough and vegetables. A really great meal, thank you.
