I will always say this guys, support your local business! I saw the “steak and date” deal on our local facebook group from bubba and I thought let’s give that a try. Yummy food! Everything on the steak board paired so well together- fluffy beef dripping chips, hendo marinated onion rings and garlicky mushrooms with tender 16oz steak 🤩 PS the peppercorn sauce was to die for & the lady who was serving us is so welcoming and kind! LOVED THE MOCKTAILS too😋

We are in town visiting, was greeted with a warm smile, great conversation and the food is amazing. Lots of smaller sized finger foods but with amazing flavor. Our waiter was fantastic, shared some history about Sheffield. Great place and staff highly recommended it!

Basically the majority of the food is deep fried not my cup of tea to be honest. To me it was just fatty stodgy food. Did not try a desert. Got a hair in one dish 🤷‍♂️ which just put me off to be truthful Even with the 20% of would not return.

We called in yesterday for our son’s 18th. We had drinks and food and it was superb. Great food, great atmosphere and great service. The lady who served was on her last day, I think. She stayed late on her last shift to make sure we were sorted. Amazing day.

Was a bit quiet when we went but the food was delicious, service friendly and excellent (thanks Ellen) and the bottomless brunch offer for two hours was great value for money.

Let’s talk about the best kept secret in Kelham! I’ve been twice now and haven’t been disappointed. The staff is lovely. Stuart has the most welcoming disposition. The food is wow-ing! The steak was amazing cooked - they understand how to cook steak in a way that most UK businesses don’t! The mac and cheese is creamy and fantastic just the way Americans intended it to be but the rest of the world doesn’t understand. And the Chicken Kiev - yum. My only complaint is that it’s a tapa - I want a full plate full. In a growing number of bunch spots in Kelham, Bubba Bar stands out as having a special place and more than just brunch.

We came here for the bottomless brunch and were looked after by Jordan and his team who were lovely and attentive. The food was delicious and drinks were plentiful. The brunch itself was extremely good value for money and we loved the chilled atmosphere of the bar. Looking forward to popping in to sample the Sunday dinners!!

We popped in late Sunday afternoon as we'd walked past earlier in the day on our way to the Kelham Museum and liked the idea of English tapas. The website said food was until 17:00. Initially we were told the kitchen was closing early as they had been extra busy earlier in the day and might've run out of some items. Luckily we were able to order food as it was only just after 16:00. We had the scampi, sausage pasta, pork bites, veg tempura, and chips. All were really tasty, only tiny thing was the veg was a bit oily. The staff were really friendly and helpful with beer and menu choices. The venue and toilets were clean. If we visit Sheffield again we'd definitely go back the Bubba's!

First off, what little I ate was nice enough but… “Forgot our starters” entirely and then my side order, salt & pepper scallop potatoes recommended by our waiter, came daubed with curry mayonnaise… I don’t object if mayo comes to the table on the side, especially when it isn’t even mentioned on the menu as part of the dish, but when chefs arbitrarily make relish decisions for me, then 🤬🤬🤬. The waiter’s excuse was “well that’s just how it comes…” as if I’m Mystic Meg. FYI Bubba, the menu is your opportunity to accurately describe what’s on offer. Given the missing/belated starters and my inedible side dish the offer not to charge us was welcome but unfortunately we’d already paid in advance through a Groupon deal. Oh, and the screaming children (not Bubba’s responsibility) and the ice cold draft from the front door did little to add anything positive to the experience.

What a shame! Saturday night, fill the place with children running around at 10.00pm friends of the management? No staff - 45 minute wait. Feel for Stuart, Joel and Jordan who were doing their best- cheers guys. Otherwise what a quick way to bankrupt a new business.

Our second trip for food at Bubba. It didn't disappoint. Delicious foods and drink, crunchy, salty crackling, smoky, rich crab bruschetta, perfectly cooked flat iron steak with piquant peppercorn sauce, yummy sides and a sumptuous sharing dessert. Friendly and efficient servers and modern but comfortable ambience. Banging playlist too.

Awful service, went to the bar to be told to sit down and they would come over and take our orders… was sat for 15 mins no order taken while the waiter ignored to ask us and asked other people! Will definitely not be returning to this place ever again! If your wanting a quick drink or even a drink at all don’t go here.

Such a lovely bar with a great atmosphere. We were greeted by friendly staff with quick service. The prices are good value and drinks were lovely. We only came in for drinks but other peoples food looked amazing. Would definitely recommend Bubba bar and will of course be returning for some of the food and definitely more drinks x

I recently visited bubba bar had the 2 course menu with my friends the food was very nice in a nice environment the service from our waiter Jordan was excellent . My only negative was it was quite cold in the bar so I had to have my jacket on.

Great place, amazing food and service was 10/10.This was my first time at Bubba bar and it won't be the last. We came as a group of 5 for the festive menu and were really impressed. The table was set up really nice for us. We immediately received our welcome drink. We found our host Jordan to be really great and attentive despite being rushed off his feet. The food and drinks were amazing too it was very good value for money.

The bottomless brunch was excellent value for money with extremely good service. Malcolm the waiter and his colleagues were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The food was extremely tasty with excellent tasting cocktails. Fully recommend.

Terrible service and horrible people. My family came in for a dinner a month ago and we overheard some racist and homophobic comments and it was explained to us by another table that the people saying it were the owners. My family will not return. There was a party happing on the other side of the venue and these people were the targets of the comments. Very disgusting, very unprofessional.

Went to bubba bar for my daughter’s graduation and wife's birthday on the same day. Can’t fault this place. From the minute we arrived 26 of us all different age groups we were made to feel welcome the food we had was beautiful the bar is very nice and spacious and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier I am already returning for our firms Christmas party and am really looking forward to it everyone of our group want to organise another visit and we definitely will. Visited Bubba Bar from a groupon and was so impressed. Highly recommend giving this place a go!! The service was just wonderful. Kind, attentive, funny. The food- when we read “British tapas” we were sceptical but oh my goodness it is brilliant. It’s more like fine dining in tapas form. The cod is delicious with a brilliant sauce. A must try are the salt and pepper potato scallops with a curry sauce. The onion rings are HUGE. The garlic and rosemary bread from the “while you wait” section is a a big as a plate and is delicious. However the best of all for me was the ton mess cheesecake pudding it was incredible. Cocktails great. Relaxed atmosphere. Really couldn’t fault it. Thank you for a fab time!

1st visit to Bubba Bar. 4 of us had booked a table for 8pm. We were keen to make the most of the evening so asked for a bit more time to enjoy our drinks before ordering food. We shared a variety of tapas dishes & they were all superb. Fresh, tasty & good value for money. Had to ask a couple of times for tap water but not a negative as the staff were excellent. Shout out to Jordan Just 1 even better if.....we'd have loved to sit at the bar for our 1st drinks of the evening but only 2 bar chairs so we went straight to our table. 4/5 for atmosphere as it wasn't particularly busy for a Friday night. It absolutely should be though as we loved the menu & food & will definitely be back to try next month's food. I will be recommending Bubba Bar to everyone I know as this is a superb addition to the Sheffield food scene. Thank you x

When we visited this Bar & Restaurant in August, it had recently re-opened under new management (was previously SYN Restaurant briefly), and it’s aim is to bring decent, down to earth food which everyone enjoys, with a bit of flair and fanciness added. The venue is gorgeous and I feel it’d be a great restaurant to visit for date night, or an occasion with friends. It’s based just around the corner from the infamous Fat Cat pub. We enjoyed 5 plates to share between 2 of us, which was enough for us *please bear in mind the menu does change seasonally so some dishes may no longer be available; Cauliflower Cheese Fritters (£7.50) Fish, Chips & Mushy Peas (£8.50) Stones Steak & Ale Pie with mash, gravy & Hendo’s (£9.00) Yorkshire Pud Bao Buns (£9.00) Aberdeen Angus Sliders (£10.00) Washed down with pints & 241 cocktails We thoroughly enjoyed every bite and fought over the last mouthfuls as it was that good. Where do I start…. Amazing 🤩… beautiful decor, fab staff and the food tasted amazing. British tapas wow… the pork scratching sticks with apple sauce were 10/10 😋…. Will definitely be back for more. Thank you

The staff were fabulous very polite and professional couldn’t fault their service. The bar was really cold which made it uncomfortable, temperature had dropped outside in fairness . The tapas menu was fine but there was too many fried options and pastry options for us . A few lighter healthier options such as ham or cheese and bread . Or sharing plates . Because the tapas don’t reflect true tapas as in Europe they tend to be mini versions of a main meal . We often go out as a small group and don’t want a big meal or fried food . Would love to have somewhere we can have nice wine and a Nice sharing platter of jamon and cheese, nice bread . Simple can be best but sadly it’s hard to get simple in Sheffield . Wine was very nice . Ask for coffee hot unless you prefer it cool.

We just had the roast platter. Honestly, it was fab. Usually carrots are the naff part but they were so soft and just the right sweetness. Generous cauli cheese portion and the creamed leek was absolutely gorg. Meats were cooked to perfection. We are very happy and stuffed. Thank you!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Bubba Bar, and while the food was great, the wait time was excessively long, nearly an hour, despite the limited number of occupied tables. Exceptional service from Jordan and Connie, who went above and beyond, even assisting my daughter with her Instagram photos! Overall, we had a pleasant time and would return👍

Called in just as it opened on a Saturday lunchtime. Very welcoming, very friendly, beautiful place to relax. The menu choices are sublime, definitely spoiled for choice. The food is presented beautifully, and like most Tapas, presented in a way to share. Out of the dishes we ordered, the pie was slightly ahead of the others, because it came with its own bottle of Hendo's Great choice of alcoholic and none alcoholic beverages to suit all tastes. Could not fault at all.

i previously have been to this restaurant when it used to be called Syn it was a very sophisticated restaurant I went here for bottomless brunch is was a little bit confusing at first booking it because the flyers have different timings on them and I was told different things by different people while trying to book for it The food was really disappointing, I wasn’t sure what I was getting for food, it only stated I was getting a platter with my bottomless brunch but never stated anywhere what I would get. When the food came it was cold and dry and just didn’t seem worth the money plates and tables were also mucky and sticky There wasn’t much selection for drinks normally when I go to a bottomless brunch there is a good variety but here there was not it, all drinks selections are very similar The staff were so lovely! and the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing a great vibe. But i definitely liked the food so much more when it used to be called Syn it seemed to of brought a different vibe to Sheffield

Staff lovely and friendly, couldn't do enough. Food looked lovely but unfortunately the deep fried stuff tasted like it had been done in old fat. We went on a Wednesday hence it wasn't busy so the atmosphere was a little too quiet. Hopefully its busier at the weekend.

What a truly amazing find, the most incredible tapas, small plates packed full of flavour with such a variety, the atmosphere was stunning and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Our new favourite place for Tapas in kelham island. Already can’t wait to come back with friends.

If this restaurant is so good , why does the ' owner ' think its a good idea to leave his Own review praising the place ? We have been past this spot numerous times , and it's always empty , you have to wish them all the best , but it's in the Beer capitol of the world , it has No cask beers for sale !!

Very odd place. The food is good if not exceptional. The layout is very odd, with the bar and the restaurant running into each other. When we went, there was a pianist and singer, who was not bad, but made it impossible to talk. There is little point in going out for dinner with the friends if you have to sit in silence. We found the service very hit and miss.

A confusing place of highs and lows. We visited on a Saturday night to a fairly quiet venue. No staff greeted us and we had to go looking for someone who seemed confused about what table was booked. The chap who served us was from the parent establishment and seemed a bit lost/confused. He constantly apologised which after a while was a little annoying more than anything. The food itself was actually really nice although essentially it's just a fancy pub menu but well cooked. We ordered desserts which never materialised so we paid up and left. Overall it's a confusing place where the decor doesn't match the menu and the staffing is a major problem. It feels like a pub has bought a place in Kelham Island but doesn't really care if it sinks or swims otherwise they would have someone with managerial experience on hand.

I believe this to be one of the best restaurants I’ve found in the area to be honest. In interior is absolutely phenomenal. Food and drinks are absolutely perfection. The food I had was absolutely fantastic maximum compliments the chefs this place deserves Michelin star I’ve said it’s better than some of the Michelin star restaurants. I’ve had the lucky fortune of visiting over the years.

Booked for Father's Day brunch for my Dad, myself, and my girlfriend. When we arrived the restaurant was empty except for one other table. My Dad ordered the Fully Monty English breakfast. My girlfriend and I went for the waffles and chicken. Service was slow, both in getting the drinks and in getting our food. As we were waiting I saw someone come from a stock room carrying bags of, what looked like, St Pierre bakery items; the sort you buy off supermarket shelves. My initial optimism about the restaurant was shaken. The other table had their food brought out, but a few moments later all the plates were sent back. I don't know what the issue was. When my Dad's breakfast came out, the "Full Monty" consisted of a single rasher of bacon, one sausage, a hash brown that appeared to be from a bag of frozen ones, a ramekin of baked beans, and a single piece of toast that appeared to be from a loaf of sliced white bread. There was no butter. Oh, and a few mushrooms and a sorry looking fried egg. Five minutes later the two waffle dishes came out. And then a minute later, some butter for my Dad's toast. The waffles and chicken was just awful. I don't believe the waffles were made from scratch because a) they didn't taste like it, and b) I saw a member of staff walking from the stock room to the kitchen with an arm full of pre-made bakery items. The chicken was a couple of pieces of what felt and tasted like frozen breaded chicken. Freshly fried chicken has a different taste and texture. Freshly made waffles have a different taste and texture, and I would imagine are actually cheaper to make than buying pre-made from the supermarket. Between the three plates of food, each had at least half, maybe even as much as two-thirds, left as we all agreed it was just poor. The staff member working in the dining room asked us what was wrong, and I explained it didn't taste fresh. He said the food was made fresh. I asked what the other guy was taking from the stock room to the kitchen, but didn't get a clear reply. The only reason I'm giving the service 2* is because they took the food off the bill without us asking for it. I hope this was just a bad day for them, but I don't think I'll be in a rush to return.

Went last Saturday and after waiting for nearly 2 hours for our food to arrive we asked for our drinks bill and left hungry after being told the food would arrive in the next 5 minutes. Only 6 tables were being served and only 1 of which received any food within the 2 hours we were there. Be interesting to know what the other diners did in the end!!!

A new restaurant lacking an identity. Starters were excellent however mains and desserts disappointing. Quite the variety on the menu from pie to steak to Indian. Maybe a refined menu would improve the quality. Very bright lighting, lacked atmosphere with the most random playlist of music. 80’s pop music to new dance and anything in between.

My partner and I went to SYN last night for my birthday and the whole experience was incredible. The restaurant itself was stunning and the staff were so attentive, checking in on us and asking how everything was. The cocktails were really reasonably priced, and the spicy margarita was the nicest cocktail I've ever had!!! The food was INSANE from start to finish. I don't usually eat fish but had the sea bream ceviche and the halibut and they were delicious! Can't recommend the restaurant highly enough and can't wait to come back - we would definitely bring friends and family here. Thank you for such a lovely evening!

Hands down some of the BEST food I’ve ever had! The intensity of the flavours & textures was immense! I want it all over again! The staff were incredibly attentive, kind yet professional. All in all, a brilliant experience! Cannot recommend enough!!

I had embarrassingly messed up a booking on Friday night for somewhere else (entered the wrong date) and at 8.15pm we showed up on the hope there may be able to squeeze four of us in. They were and the evening blossomed into a beautiful time. You get what you pay for, the food was delicious with all the flavours and textures you would associate at any high class restaurant and the waiting staff were so attentive and patient with me when I asked if I could substitute a couple of things due to intolerances. They had hired a saxophone player for the evening to play for the diners, this was both beautiful and noisy but only lasted half the time we were there. The decor is beautiful and we ended up with a large table to dine at. A great example of serendipity.

Overall great experience, a few niggles however. Firstly we had to pay for the bread, which was nice but it was literally 2 tiny slices of focaccia, I'd expect this to be complimentary at such an establishment. Second, the vegetarian option was a bit expensive for what it was (but it was very nice!) and lastly we had to wait around 20 minutes for dessert to arrive which is pretty poor to be honest (cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding).

Fabulous night at Syn. The food was beautiful, I had the Tandoori Monkfish and my partner had the fillet of beef and Oxtail cheek, both meals were cooked to perfection. It was my partners birthday and the staff from the Manager downwards were fantastic with her. This was all set off nicely by the live saxophonist creating a warm friendly atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

We were cold and hungry after spending £90. If you are vegetarian, stay well away, the main is a quarter of a small hispy cabbage (£20 and not kidding) that has been brined, not pickled, in far too much salt and becomes inedible. There is a sauce but no sides are available… Seriously, we left cold and very hungry!…
