Su Sushi in Dundee City

Staff were fabulous, food was even better. 100% going back. Miso soup was flavourful, sushi was creamy, ramen and noodles were delicious. My son was a bit teary when we first got there as he hadn’t napped so staff took it upon themselves to cheer him up and make sure he was okay ❤️

Went back again because it was so good and was not disappointed this time(not like I was disappointed yesterday) I got Californian sushi rolls, salmon maki, miso soup and tuna nigiri it was all fresh and delicious the Californian rolls were thick and had a nice thick Japanese mayo and the miso soup had great tofu, yesterday I had the beef udon and it was such a big portion and nice thick noodles. The service was great, we didn't even have to ask and they brought us some pickled ginger and wasabi I even saw her help someone who didn't know how to use chopsticks. I would definitely go there if you have an allergens as well.

The quality is very poor and the sushi is not served properly - there is no pickled ginger or wasabi with the soy sauce. The sushi was also falling apart as it was badly rolled and the tuna one was not fresh. The server got very angry and defensive when we sent it back.

Where to start, the lady running the show was outstanding. Although busy, she made everyone feel as though they were her only customers. I felt special from the moment I walked in, the food was brilliant. Fresh, piping hot and not greasy at all. Everything was delicious, we ordered too much but couldn’t stop eating as it was so nice and came out rapidly. Honestly the best ever sushi experience I’ve ever had. So sad that I live in Wales and can’t visit regularly but I will have to come up to Scotland again just for this restaurant. Thank you all at su sushi!!

My girlfriend and I love this place, we go here all the time and have never been disappointed. Staff are always incredibly friendly, and service is speedy. Our go to is the katsu chicken curry, and various sushi dishes, and we are always very pleased with the quality of these meals. We will be back again, and again, and again, etc.

Sushi was warm and had clearly been sitting there out for a while, rice was mushy, the sushi was around room temperature. so disgusting. ordered ramen and was brought udon even after repeatedly asking the waitress for ramen and even pointing to it on the menu, so upset, so disappointed, do not come here!!

Never been to a restaurant for sushi before and I was not disappointed. The lady the served me was very helpful and the food was lovely. Very good value for money.

Delicious fresh sushi and friendly service in Dundee City centre. Stopped in for lunch and was genuinely surprised by the incredibly good value plates at a time when big sushi chains are charging far more for less in terms of quality and quantity. The rice for my maki and nigiri was perfectly seasoned, and the salmon, tuna and prawn was fresh, clean and delicious. Hoping I'll get to visit again next time I'm back in Dundee.

The service was bad (and they had the nerve to say it was because they were busy - there were four-five tables in max. and these only had 2 people at each). Drinks came one at a time - my daughter got hers together with her meal - I'd already finished my drink. Squid rings - overcooked, drizzled in mayo and looked like something you'd buy out of a local freezer shop. My food came much later. Below average. Won't be going back there any time soon.

I'd been craving Japanese food for so long so decided to take myself to Su Sushi for a solo date. I had the friendliest server who escorted me to a seat to the bar, took my drink order then gave me some time to look over the menu. I ordered the chicken roll, katsu and duck dumplings. Received free miso soup as a starter and everything else was bought out when it was ready. It all came out quickly, well prepared and the hot food was hot. All tasted incredible. The server checked in and made sure I had drinks etc. My eyes were definetely bigger than my belly so won't order so much next time! Will definitely be back!

My partner and I went to Su Sushi on 19.12.21. I ordered 8 sushi and ramen (spicy & hot). My partner got Katsu chicken and gyozas. First thing to say is that the restaurant was freezing cold - we had to sit there with hats and jackets on. Never before my hands were freezing in a restaurant! Then the service - my ramen arrived 15 minutes late after we pretty-much finished eating. When I questioned why my ramen is bland without any spice (in the menu it says specifically "spicy and hot ramen") woman working there said than you need to ask for it to be spicy! She clearly knew that I was given a wrong dish but did not want to admit anything. Sushi were not rolled properly and were falling apart. Instead of rice some kind of homogeneous rice paste was used to make them. They were not cut properly and one end bit was included as 1/8 of sushi bits. This looked like someone's first attempt at making sushi! My partner's Katsu chicken was okay but the sauce that they brought with it was supposed to be teriyaki. That was definitely not a teriyaki sauce. That was soy sauce with some sugar dissolved in it! We paid £37 for this meal. This is probably the only place in Dundee that only accepts cash nowadays. They are so stingy and care so little about the comfort of customers that would happily make you walk to the cash machine (forget about covid - money is more important). Definitely would not recommend going there. A microwaveable meal from Tesco in the comfort and warmth of your own house would be way better than the kind of food and service provided in Su sushi.

Me and three friends visited after some shopping, it was my first time dining here but my friends and sister swear by here, the staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome and looked after. The food was absolutely outstanding and we certainly be back again soon! The restaurant has a very calming, relaxing vibe and you don't feel rushed out of the door like some places. It's one of those conveyer belt sushi bars, which personally I love. The prices are democratic (compared to other sushi places in Dundee) and everything is fresh. They have a selection of other Japanese dishes as well - do try chicken katsu curry, it's incredible....
