Went here for a quick business lunch. Wanted a soup and sandwich and when it came it was delicious. The staff were really friendly and could not have been more friendly. Never mind the other coffee shops in the city centre, give this place a try. You will also be helping out a great charity

I have been visiting The Avenue for quite a few years, the staff and volunteers are fabulous. They are always welcoming, happy and plenty of chat. There is a wide variety menu which should cater to everyones likes, however should it not the ladies always are open to requests. The cafe is spotless the volunteers are quick to clear up and tidy up, and take great pride fulfilling their role for the day.

Stepping stones is a little gem of a place. The food is delicious - we both opted for the omelette - each one was made to our personal tastes and included three fillings. The coffee was excellent and choice of cakes and buns... super. The people who work there were welcoming and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

A hidden gem in Lisburn. Not the cheapest for lunch and not huge portions but one of the very finest fresh tasty lunches in Lisburn.

I was surprised not to find this establishment listed on Trip Advisor. Also to be told that the post code that I initially gave (BT27 4AA) did not relate to the U.K.!! It is the post code given on the restaurant's information card. A waitress service is provided - often by those with a learning or other disability; the "Stepping Stones, N.I." establishments provide training and employment for those with "handicaps". It's philosophy is: "Supporting People: Realising Potential" The restaurant opens Monday to Friday from 7.45am to 3.00pm. I was immediately shown to a table and was served very quickly. On this, my first visit, I had a "home-baked" scone scone with butter and jam and a pot of tea; the scone was rhubarb and ginger and was delicious. It was fairly busy, being lunch time (12.30pm) and most customers were having lunch ("Specials" every day). Service was friendly and personable. All my enquiries were answered enthusiastically. Tables were cleared promptly and hygiene seemed to be good; clean uniforms worn by staff. Comment and loyalty cards were provided. It is within five minutes walk of Lisburn town centre therefore competes with around ten other cafe/restaurants. A mixture of soft seating (for coffee etc) and tables for more formal dining is provided. It is situated on the ground floor "just off the street" so it is wheelchair friendly. Decor simple and appropriate. Because of its ethos and excellent service/good food - it is worth supporting! Recommended.

A huge thanks to Vegan Rocket for a delicious chocolate fudge birthday cake for my daughter’s 10 th birthday. It was one of the most moist chocolate cakes I’ve ever tasted and you’d never know it was vegan at all! It’s wonderful to have something like this in Lisburn for my daughter who has allergies to dairy and egg ! I’d highly recommend !

Closed without warning. Reserved a table online for father's day and received a confirmation email. Arrive to find the place closed with no sign, no explanation, and no attempt made to contact me. Now having to find a last minute table on a very busy Sunday.

The staff serving were lovely, but the owner was very rude. Won't be back
