Steers in Wandsworth

Went for the fish and chips, place was great, 4 stars because of the hygiene because the kitchen looked a bit messy. Food was very tasty though

A great sit in or take away place. Traditionally South African franchise and firm favourite. The Rave burger is a well known favourite amongst millennials. I grew up with them. But they do great burgers and fries. All the food is Great and should be tried.

I come back to my home town, Battersea regularly, and am always on the lookout for the old places and whether they are much the same now as they were back in my day. So it was interesting to see that this place was still a restaurant, albeit with a different name. I used to come down here as a special treat, and used to love the grub they served up, anyone who reads this and lived around britain prior to the 80's will know exactly what I mean, spectacular place. My review today is more about the Wimpy rather than steers, and my notes are all based around that :)

This is a perfectly fine Steers. The problem is the location and pricing. It is tucked away on Lavender Hill with only ASDA footfall punters and let's be honest, the people who shop there normally go in their pyjamas so it's in and out. The food is OK, portion sizes are half of what you get in SA yet the prices are triple more. The fact that the owner hangs around out front certainly doesn't help either. She seems to be watching her employees and her customer with spider eyes, just in case they misbehave. Sorry Steers London; I don't think you belong here, you are a little out of your depth and out of your market segment - there aren't even that many Saffas in Clapham. I feel sorry for you and wish I could have helped.

Been here twice now and I have to say the chips are the best that I have ever tasted in this kind of place. Easily better than Burger King, McDonalds and KFC by miles. I ordered a half chicken and large chips both times, extra hot marinade. Everything is really tasty and a good sized portion but they need to use more marinade as it isnt as hot or saucy as you might expect. Definitely my go to place for a quick feed when around Clapham Junction though. Have not tried the burgers so cannot comment but you can get good burgers in so many places these days so I go for the chicken.

Usually fast food restaurants are always full of people, I now understand why this is always almost empty ... I decided experience my first time, my order was menu chicken burgar. My God, I do not believe was what I was seeing, horrible food, as you can see the photos I put here. I could not eat was horrible, It not had almost nothing, fine reduced, as the size of cold potatoes for children, the amount paid is much more expensive than McDonald's. not compare with McDonald's that is much better in price and quality of the food and its presentation of food to customers. I sat at a table facing the balcon and I was in shock when I saw with my own eyes that a lady who was in the balcon, perhaps the manager Steers Clapham junction, wash the cups already used the client to be used again .. I try to take pictures with my very discreet mobile phone. but disgusting.... endanger their customers with today's times with so many diseases that are out there. now I understand and because it is almost always empty ... the manager or the owner is trying to reduce costs, leverage everything they can, the Steers Clapham Junction should not be doing much lucre and try to save the maximum and make money maximum ...

I was really looking forward to this meal, I don't get to travel to London often, but when I do I always try to make a stop here. Steers is one of the best burger based restaurant chains in South Africa, that flame grilled taste just gets me every time. Unfortunately on this visit I was really disappointed in the quality and taste of the actual burger patties that we were served. They tasted like cheap mass produced burgers, the sort you'd get from a large warehouse chain for use in side road burger vans. Everything else was as per my last visit, same imported sauces, salt and drinks, they just really let themselves down with the burgers. I'll not be visiting again, it takes an hour and a half on average from the office I visit in London and without decent burgers you might as well go elsewhere.

ok so i am south african so this is a little biased but i have been all over the globe and Steers is and always will be the best burgers ever to me. Absolutely nothing beats the King steer burger. NOTHING! and to all those people comparing it to MacDonald's and Burger King, Are you're taste buds fried or what? Steers is flame grilled perfection. Honestly I have never had chicken at steers so I couldn't compare it for all the people moaning about the chicken, But who cares? Steers is known for its awesome Burgers, Not its Chicken!. We decided to give this a go one Thursday evening for dinner; long day at work and just wanted a really good burger - and that's what we got. If had the feel of a family run restaurant; it was small and the furnishings were basic. However, if it's good food, freshly cooked you are looking for, then this is the place. It's less than 5 minutes walk from Clapham Junction Station; the food was not fast - but it was all freshly cooked and delicious!

A great place to finally have in London. The chips could be more like home but over all very happy. Just need to deliver and then it will be perfect.

To be fair I am a South African and I am slightly biased towards tastes of home. The venue itself is a little small and there is no toilet but I'm not stopping there long enough to hang out. I just wanted my king and a way out.

Visitamos el viernes pasado, hizo cola durante más de 5 minutos, cuando llegué a la hasta que pedimos las costillas y alas combo. £9,99 . Me dijeron que no estaban haciendo costillas o alas, ya que estaba muy ocupado. Me dijo que podía haber una hamburguesa si quería. Fue ocupado por un número de fans del rugby pero en total, sólo 15 personas más nos sentaron.

Popped in to grab a quick bite to eat as we were hungry and it was the nearest place to us. Me and my partner between us had quarter chicken, chicken burger and wings...total £11..not a bad price. The chicken was dry and had no taste! Was very dissapointed. The chips were nice! The restaurant has no toilets...absolutely shocking! Although it is small, with around 3 tables you still expect there to be loos available. Will not be returning.

Walked in after a brain draining work workshop. It certainly did its job by refuelling me. Server behind the till, Spanish guy, didn't write down his name was fab. Rea friendly with a can do attitude, engaged in conversation and was great and telling me about the company. He recommended a real good hamburger offer, 2 for 2.99. Within a few minutes he served me two delicious burger. The meat I would say tasted even better than Burger King, miles better than McDonald's. The burger was filled with delicious sauce and cheese.I had some Spar-Letta soda, South African which wash refreshingly sweet and different. The restaurant was immaculately clean, also the entire kitchen area looked very clean. Only negative was that the bread was maybe a little over down on the grill, but only very minor negative.

As a South African in the UK I was most excited when I heard that one of our favourite take aways had arrived in the UK and could not wait to see if it held up to my memories! It did! Awesome food - Hero steak roll , chips with Steers seasoning and ahhhhh washed down with a lime milkshake!

I had the Flamed Chicken, so i cannot judge the Burgers yet. The Piri Piri Sauce was very nice, so were the fries, however the portion of the fries for the price of the meal was too small. The Chicken didnt taste Spicy and great at all even though I had asked it to be spicy, comparing the Chicken to Roosters, Roosters Chicken is 1000x better.

Have posted another review for this takeaway elsewhere. It appears they have two Tripadvisor profiles. Average burgers, slightly over priced. Biggest downfall - no toilets. Staff have the cheek to direct you to the toilets of the restaurant next door!.

Pequeña para llevar con asientos. Me decidí a entrar y probar esta ordenado y un aspecto común de hamburguesas en Clapham. Los combinadas en oferta parecía bueno, así que pedí un clásico que incluye la hamburguesa (un clásico creo) y patatas fritas y una bebida. El precio de £7 / 8 libras, creo.

Feel bad writing a bad review as the staff in there are lovely and really friendly, but the burger was really dry and of poor quality for the price. Sadly I don't think we will be back.

On my way through Clapham Junction and gave Steers a try. Wish they could come to guildford. All I have is McDonald's and Wimpy, aaaagh

Got stuck at Clapham Junction and needed a quick meal. Gave Steers a go and was pleasantly surprised. The closest to me down south is a McDonald's and Wimpy. Please come to Guildford.

This is by far the best fast food I have ever had in my life! Awesome burger and very succulent grilled Chicken. Very good service and nice people!

Popped in for a pre-drink filler whilst waiting a mate and wished I hadnt. The "King", whilst meant to be cooked to order, appeared in under 3 minutes and was molten hot. I guessed the burger had been zapped in the microwave so made a mental note to check.

Way too overpriced for what they actually offer. Walked in... Made a sweet 'u turn' and walked back out,

Fuimos a condiciona el sábado pasado y me quedé muy impresionado por el precio que pagamos. Teniendo en cuenta que es igual de precio razonable (si no más) que las otras grandes cadenas de comida rápida, las raciones eran enormes, la comida era fresca y el servicio era genial. Se lo recomendaría a nadie en la zona.

He estado aquí antes, y fue fabuloso. Sin embargo, esto era más decepcionante, patatas fritas era fresco, todos pequeños termina pero eso es bueno, pero yo tenía una buena predisposición cuando vi una parrilla limpia pero no hay mucha acción, lo que podría ocurrir. Mi comida llegó y tengo que decir que mi hamburguesa era no calentados y enfriados a la orden. Había otras personas comer allí así que quizás les dieron la misma materia prima oferta.

Hemos estado aquí un par de veces. Aunque es sin duda orientada al mercado de comida para llevar, es mejor que otros restaurantes como gbk y una mejor relación calidad-precio.

Went there again today and man the food great! Better than is South Africa. The people are friendly and the food fresh. Best burger you can get for that price. Well done guys

I have been here twice now. Once for chicken and once for a burger. It is really very very average. I don't recommend going here.

Qué encontrar este lugar. Me alojo en Clapham Junction regularmente por trabajo visitas y encontramos este lugar el pasado mes de agosto por primera vez y lo convierten en una visita obligada por lo menos una vez durante mi regular estancias de una semana.

Yo estaba un poco truncó después de una noche de marcha en Clapham y este lugar estaba abierto. Yo me asombra y pedí una hamburguesa entonces empezaron a comer y estaba bien bonito!!! estado pensando en que desde que me gustaría probar una sobria. ¿que hago si es tan bueno como recuerdo cambiará calificación de excelente.

Paré aquí en mi camino de vuelta del trabajo que se encendía pasado todos los días. El personal era muy amable y me recibió con una sonrisa y un hola tan pronto como llegué.

Después de esperar por este lugar para abrir estaba super emocionados y tomó mi novia después entusiasmado sobre condiciona hamburguesas de Sudáfrica. Los precios son normales y la hamburguesa era parecidas a las de Sudáfrica, aunque se dieron la orden de mi novia completamente equivocados que no estaba contenta.

nice burger joint, would recommend, much better and cheaper than GBK. have to wait a while for your food though. fries nice and big. Piri Piri sauce lovely
