Fabulous takeaway! We both agreed the best Indian takeaway we have ever had. Lamb tikka dhansak was delicious as were all the sides and the sag paneer was with actual paneer (no cheddar or coconut ) and very good. Delivery was fast and all was hot and fantastic Will definitely be ordering again and look forward to trying the restaurant too

I've had several meals from here as takeaways and up to last time it's been good. We had lamb tikka and chicken tikka last time but couldn't eat it as it was way too salty . I gave it a miss for a while up til tonight, ordered takeaway and collection. Straight forward meal , chicken korma pilau rice onion bajee and pompidoms. The rice was like boiled rice ,the korma was so watery and tasteless and pompidoms inedible as they tasted of old burnt oil. Very disappointed and won't be going back

We’ve ordered quite a few takeaways from here when staying in Lowestoft.. never had a bad meal, delivery timings are good and great value! Would definitely recommend

We had a one night stay in Lowestoft, and a wander down the High Street looking for somewhere to eat was somewhat lacking. inspiration. We’d already walked past the restaurant once, and it as one of those ‘we might as well try here’ moments, rather than a deliberate choice. Well, I’m glad we did! The food was just great, and the service was attentive and efficient. I was determined to try something different, rather than fall into the old trap of ordering something I know I like. My chosen dish, king prawn aimee, was just fantastic - definitely up there with the favourite dishes I have ever had in a curry house.

Great food as always and the service was impeccable. Always made to feel welcome. Will definitely be back soon!

Went for a meal out with elderly parents never have I been in a Indian restaurant and had a experience of a rude and unwelcoming gentleman. Sat down because we were unable to eat anywhere else, he obviously thought we would not order much food. He came to take or order and he just got worse The food came and some we just could not eat, he did knock this off the bill but unfortunately it was too late he had made us unhappy from the start, this restaurant dose not deserve customer. If you check my trip advisors review I never complain unless it necessary, I like to give credit where it due, but unable to make once nice comment.

Whenever we decide to have an Indian meal out we always choose the Spice Den in Lowestoft. This also applies to a takeaway. We have spent a number of celebrations there. Anniversaries, birthdays etc. Today 26th July was my 76th birthday and we had a family meal there. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the staff were excellent. Definitely a 5 star rating.

I called up early on Saturday evening to reserve a table for two and the staff obliged in full. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food and service was excellent.

I've been here once in the restaurant before and was really impressed so wanted to have a takeaway. I'm currently breastfeeding my baby who has a soya and dairy allergy, and I am a vegetarian. This means I'm really restricted about what I can eat and where I can go for food. I sent a message to lots of local restaurants but the only one to reply was spiceden. I was delighted, they sent me a list of foods that could be adapted or were already free from dairy and soya. There was plenty of choice! We had a lovely takeaway, of mushroom Rogan josh, Quorn dansak and taka dhall along with rice and poppadoms. It was fresh, hot and not at all greasy. We were so thrilled to be catered for and will definitely be returning now that we know it's safe. The restaurant itself is lovely too so we might eat inside next time. Huge thanks to the staff and chef.

Absolutely disgusted with this restaurant, to be ripped off is an understatement! I Asked for a glass of melbec to go with the meal witch was being served,, I was told they don't serve melbec by the glass only by the bottle,, my friend who is one of the top 2 surgeons in the country suggested I bought the bottle and to have a glass and take the bottle home... which I gladly did at the time,, only to be met with extreme disappointment when I price checked the meal when I got home as thought a meal for 2 people at £106.00 was ridiculous... The bottle of melbec I purchased "cost £38.00" which is a total rip off as its less than £8 a bottle..... never will I eat from there again or ever recommend to my customers.....

We visited tonight, the first time with the children for banquet night. Delicious food. Efficient service. Very accommodating and patient with the children. Will definitely be re visiting. Was very busy so I would recommend booking in advance on a Wednesday. Thank you very much Spice Den! 😊

In a word: sensational. We did a 50 minute round trip to collect a takeaway from this restaurant and it was 100% worth it. I ordered chicken dhansak, cheese naan and poppadums. All were delicious, flavoursome and superb quality. I would love to dine in the restaurant too, which was clean and tended by welcoming staff.

First time of visiting, don't think we will be back as food was average at best. Lady who served us was lovely and friendly so no complaints there. I had Spice Den special which was ok and wife had Chicken Sallee and described it as bland and tasteless which coming from her is not good. Maybe we chose the wrong dishes for our taste but first impressions are difficult to forget.

What can I say and where do I start! Impromptu visit for a curry expecting to have a minimal meal- and ate like a queen! Popadoms …. Onion Bhaji and some kind of flat bread in addition to my normal veg biriani ….. ALL gluten free and it tasted just amazing ! This is lovely Indian Restaurant situated in North Lowestoft with easy parking access. The food is excellent, the atmosphere pleasant and friendly with lovely staff. It's our first choice if having a meal with family and friends. 10 out of 10.

We ordered a takeaway from here via justeat, we ordered it for 21:00 however it arrived 30 mins early. But it wasn’t a problem. They did ring up and apologise. Food was very good, and hot. Will continue to use

Happened across the place. Had some of the best Indian food I've had in a while. I had the Lime Grilled Prawns to start, which was excellent. My partner had the stuffed pepper which was great. My main was the Spice Den Special, which was great as I love potato an chickpeas. Would definitely recommend

My partner ordered our usual from spice den which we have at least once a month. As it’s my birthday I wanted it again, we got it delivered as usual but this time I received a lamb tikka korma instead of my usual chicken tikka korma, my partner called the restaurant and the guy on the phone was arrogant and no help what so ever! He was telling us that we are wrong and that’s what we ordered, I’m sorry but I DO NOT eat lamb at all so I would no have ordered it! He refused to send out what we had actually ordered and refused to help!! I think the service was absolutely disgusting and I will Not EVER be ordering from there again!

We ordered a takeaway online for a special family occasion. The online platform said 60 minute wait. After 75 minutes we called, but despite repeated attempts to phone Spice Den there was no answer and no response to our calls and messages left. We had no update as to when our currry would arrive and after 90minutes (and now almost 9.30pm) we gave up and had toast for our meal! Zero points for customer service or user friendly online booking system. Spice Den completely ruined our evening. Never again!!!

I have been here countless times, always been good. This latest visit was exceptional , probably down to the choice available. Throughout the service was slick, staff friendly, food was reasonably priced . In Lowestoft we’re lucky to have 3 good curry houses all nearby so there is a lot of competition . Well worth a visit!

I had a very enjoyable evening with friends for a catch-up. My first visit to this restaurant and I will definitely be returning. The restaurant is very welcoming and the staff are very friendly and the food was excellent.If you haven’t been I would definitely recommend you visit soon

poor standard of food/quality of meat. this after having a conversation with the member of staff stating we are from leicester and know our curries, eating quality indian food 2-3 times a week and i cook my own to a high standard. i asked for the best lamb dish they do and said i am only interested if slow cooked and a good cut, not neck or cheap cuts as didnt want a chewy lamb dish - well the special was chosen for me and it came with lamb i could barely cut or chew it was proper rubbish, also in the dish were cold hard chick peas and cold raw tomatoes? odd to say the least but very disappointing too. we had two chicken dishes which were edible but not great as salty and again the meat wasnt of a high standard and chewy, poppadoms and dips good and i found a great cider from kingfisher i had never seen before and will try to source in future - perhaps i needed another 6 to enjoy the food or people of lowestoft are not as fussy, as there seems to be a lot of good reviews?! but trust me its not good, we were the only people in there too so no real excuses of being rushed off their feet etc. i complained at the end of the night when paying the bill that it wasnt good and he said i should have menitoned it so he could re-cook it?? but what would he have done differently to their 'special' surely if you cant get that right you need to be asking why its 'special' in the first instance. it should have been a slow cooked lamb dish so unless he was going to re-cook it for at least an hour there was no point complaining during the meal as we had to be somewhere within 50 mins of eating and i dont think they would have ever got it right anyway. well below the standard of restaurant i would normally eat at for £48 for two people for 3 mains, 6 pops and dips, 2 rice and one drink each, so paid on the nose without a tip.

Went into Lowestoft especially for this restaurant, we were on the Broads for the weekend. What a find. Sunday lunch, not very busy, but made to feel very welcome. The staff could not be more friendly. The food was superb. Totally recommend this restaurant.

Went for a quick midweek treat, and was pleasently surprised, service was good, restaurant comfortable and had a relaxed atmosphere. Good quality tastey food. Especially impressed with the nan bread light and crispy. Will definitely be going back.

Its been a while since I last visited this popular restaurant, its always been a good all rounder. I believe the portion have bigger since the last visit this may be down to the competition nearby. The quality is consitant as before as was the service.I look for forward to the next visit .

Emailed this establishment as a vegan and wished to make sure that I would be ok with lots of choice and I was emailed very quickly back with support for this so booked a table on a Wednesday night when there is a special evening for a 5 course meal for £11. When we got there we were shown to our table and I had check The draught beer, cobra is vegan and kingfisher is vegetarian. When we ordered I said that was vegan and the server was amazing letting me know about my orders and what was available, had no idea that biryani is normally made with pilau rice and this is not vegan so I had boiled rice, very informative. My hubby order rogan josh and nan, side and starter, all very impressive. Could not fault this restaurant for atmosphere and choice, well worth a visit and on a Wednesday so affordable. Even the set menu for 2 either meat or vegetarian is well worth a try, it feeds at least 4 adults, we tend to get this when with friends but will have to request a few changes now vegan

Staff were welcoming and friendly. Food is full of taste and cooked to perfection. Presentation is beautiful. Spice Den is my go-to Indian! I love it!

As a bona fide curry fanatic (with a serious favourite being the Sitara in Archway, London), this place came PROPERLY up to scratch.

We was unable to get a table at our usual indian restaurant due to being fully booked so after reading the reviews here decided to give it a try. We had a warm friendly greeting. We ordered drinks along with lovely poppadoms. We went on Wednesday so chose off the meal deal menu £11. My partner chose stuffed pepper. Which he enjoyed. My chicken chatt was rather tasteless more of a paste instead of cubes of chichen. Also the chicken was stringy.

Delicious! Ordered via just eat.got 15% discount. Great dansak and mushroom rice. Meal for 4 of us £46! Great food. Delivery was quick and kept up to date with timescales. Will definitely order from there again!

The food at the spice den was absolutely stunning. I had the king prawn puree as a starter which was lovely. The main meal was prawn Patia with garlic rice...this is the best Patia that I've had in a long long time....yes we had to wait a little while...but you would expect to wait for food that has been cooked and prepared and not just microwaved...the lads really enjoyed the meal...the staff were really friendly and helpful...I will definitely being going back...

For a first time customer I was very dissappointed in the overall wait for food you have to have a good memory of what you ordered

Visited a couple of times now, new to the area, most impressed, a very clean and tidy restaurant, good ambience, good service with friendly staff and most important very good food. We love Indian food and this lived up to our hopes .. well done.

I visited on a Wednesday evening to take advantage of their special offer price. It was advertised as £11.50 for 5 courses which isn't accurate as you get a starter, main course with a side dish and rice or naan, then coffee which technically isn't 5 courses. Despite this I was amazed at the portion size, choices included in the deal, quality of the food, presentation, taste and friendly, polite service. We didn't need anything extra. We came away feeling very satisfied having enjoyed a tasty meal in pleasant surroundings. The wine I had was excellent despite the low price. I will definitely go back.

Lovey little restaurant recommended by a friend. We are still exploring the area after recently moving here and had this Indian recommended. By far one of the nicest ninths out we have had since the move. The food was presented well and not greasy on the plate. Staff were really accommodating and friendly will certainly come back for family meals in the future

We decided to have a meal here before going to the theatre and are glad we did. All the staff were very welcoming and the restaurant was very clean. The food itself was incredible. We have eaten at quite a few Indian restaurants, but have to say that is definitely in our top 5. It was also a very reasonable of just over £55 for 3 courses plus drinks and coffees.

Small little Indian but amazing food. We often have spice den as a take away but never eaten in until now and it was really lovely. They were so friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be going back.

This is the only place worth going if you want a good atmosphere and great food. Indian food is never cheap so I don’t think it’s fair to rate the prices but the staff were very helpful and the food was great!!

The food was quick to arrive, hot and fresh, I had king prawn madras, it had a nice spice and lots of prawns. Will definitely purchase again in the future, highly reccommend this Indian takeaway!

We picked Labone as its one of the few Lowestoft Indian Restuarants who actually has a proper website with a full menu to look as instead of just a FB page.

Great place to eat, always fabulous service and super tasty authentic menu choices, try and book if you can as gets very busy, its a family friendly restaurant too and the children are always welcomed

Food great and service was fantastic......we benefited from their Meerkat 2for1 deal and even our little girl really enjoyed her food too (even if she always chooses English food) they were extremely good with the little one too - as curries go very good and would definitely recommend to all our friends- will be visiting again soon!!!

We had a delicious dinner here a couple of days ago. Sharing starter was full of different flavours. Gf had balti chicken which sge said was great. I had king prawn balti which was also lovely. Wine was reasonably priced for a nice bottle. Friendly staff, place was busy, but everyone looked like they were having a good time. We will be back soon.

My husband and I decided to get a take away we have used the spice den many times before. After waiting over 90 minutes for our food,we were extremely disappointed with our food. It arrived like warm, we had ordered mint sauce which we were charged for and they sent mango. I had ordered chicken tika masaka. The chicken had not been in the tandor and the masaala gravy just tasted like tomatoe soup, with no added spices. My husband had lamb tika jalfrezi

Had a nice meal last night. Best curry so far that we have had in the Lowestoft area. Attentive, flavoursome food, draught cobra to drink, We will be back again.

The food here is the best we have eaten in the UK. If you like spicy we recommend the Naga Chili, it is amazing. The staff are so helpful & welcoming. They can’t do enough for you. Great for takeaway or dine in. Great little resturant.

Great curry. Had the naga chicken and saag dhal. Good bit of chilli heat in the curry. Food was delivered earlier than stated and it was piping hot. I'll definitely be ordering again.

My first date restaurant with my beautiful lady. We will go back every year. Amazing food, the most friendly, courteous staff you will ever meet and a superb atmosphere. Perfect!

My daughter and I called in for dinner whilst on holiday in Suffolk. On the plus side was the good service and pleasant staff. Food was OK but nothing to "write home about". Portion size was reasonable but the "chutneys" that accompanied the poppadoms were probably the worst I have tasted; I suspect mostly the cheapest that could be found in a jar from the cash and carry!

My husband and I ate here and we wouldn't go again. The poppadoms and drink came out quickly. We then ordered our food. I ordered a starter and 45 mins later we still didn't have any food or if we wanted another drink. 1 hour later, all the food came out including starters! The onion bahji also had a hair in it, I discretely got up from the table to hand it to the waiter so the other guests would not hear and the waiter bought it. Back to me on a plate and asked me to point it out to him! It was almost a comedy moment except we was trying to eat! He took it away and then came back to tell us not to worry as he had found the hair, "it was really fine, wasn't it?!" OMG! We ate and paid, the rest of the food was ok, but we would not recommend.

We rang on a busy bank holiday Sunday 27th May 2018 at short notice and we're given a table.Shaz, Taz and Zakariya were very welcoming and were keen to help us pick the right dishes.Orders arrived on time and food was excellent.Balti Lamb, Vegetable Korai, Chilli nan were tasty. Mixed platter starters were good.Overall enjoyed our food and will visit again when we are back in the area.

I done it so my food would get here for 8pm then delivered it at 7.25 pm when I called all the said was they would send a driver to collect it and keep it warm then deliver at 8pm. The said it was just eats fault that it was early as apparently it said asap to with I phoned just eat and they could see the same as me that it say 8pm restaurant wouldn't do nothing about it..

Arrived in Lowestoft and found this for lunch. What a find , pleasant service. We choose two starters each with the most wonderful egg fried rice. Fresh salad garnish, amazing shrimp and mango parcel, butterfly prawn, chicken tikka and a small plater. Everything was perfectly cooked and just superb taste. I cannot say how much we enjoyed this and would urge others to try a perfect Indian restaurant. And yes I know what I'm talking about and have been to India six times and know what's the best and its in Lowestoft high street.

The "chicken tikka masala" was basically not a curry and more of a horrible Red paste with chicken thrown in and no flavour, the rice was over done, do not recommend!! ... The naan was okay though.

food was piping hot. meat in the curry was really tender. won't order from anywhere else

Not warm despite being a very short journey..maybe it being in an old cool box didnt help. Took a full 3 minutes in a microwave for each plate to get to an edible temperature. Chicken and Mushroom Dupiaza had no chicken and the sauce was watery. Keema rice lacked keema. Very disappointing considering the cost.

A very long wait (1hr 30mins)but always amazing food! Eat here often and cannot fault it!
