Went here tonight and it was very busy. Taken to a table and given 2 menus. We waited 20 minutes before the waiter would even take our drink order - he was more interested in cleaning tables than seeing to customers. Then we were told we could only buy slices. We’d seen the slices - which were being breathed over by customers coming through the entrance. No thanks.

My friend and I had a really good meal here at lunch. Pizza was tasty (I recommend the Detroit Red Stripe) and it was a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely one of the better pizza places in Nottingham and worth a visit if you haven’t been already.

After our shopping trip in the city centre, we chose this restaurant for pizzas. The place is outdated and wants modernisation. The food was average according to their prices and the service was moderate. I will not go there again.

The service was awful, we were only allowed to have their choice of pizza and it was so spicy it made me and my partner feel sick and the pizza was so burnt. Not worth £21.

New York-style pizzeria with seating for 46 across two levels. As it was a sunny day and we had our doggies with us,we sat on their benches outside. We chose the Bolognese £14.5 Beef & pork ragu, bechamel, san marano tomato, mozzarella, caramelised onion, parmigiano-reggiano, parsley. Its a New York cross Neopolitan style pizza. Although absolutely delicious the toppings we chose made it a bit sloppy to eat. Now for the star of the show. Detroit red stripe 8x10" - £17.50. Marinara sauce, cheese blend, wild oregano, parmigiano- reggiano, scotch bonnet honey, + cobble lane pepperoni £3.20. As the name gives it away. This is Detroit stlye, which reminds us of the Chicago deep dish versions that were popular years ago when American diners were all the rage here. This is epic.Very tasty and very filling The price is a bit punchy, but oh so worth it. On the side we ordered a Baby gem salad £6.50 Ranch dressing, shallots, pecorino romano, almond crumb & a ranch dip £2. We couldn't resist desserts, so went for two. Stout tiramisu pot £6.80. Basque cheesecake with negroni poached fruit £6.80. Oh my word, make sure you save room for these. There is a debate in Nottingham with so many different pizza joints out there,on which is the best. We have been coming here since they opened. Way before some Tik Toker had even heard about them.Take it from us,this is the best,no argument

It's my first time going to the slice n brew the staff were quite friendly and the pizzas were amazing a lot better than the ones you get from the take aways and Zizzi's. But say that thought there their need to change the name of one of the pizzas as it quite tricky to say. the second thing the brand of cola they sell was awful and tasted like cheap shop brand cola. third thing is how long we had to wait for our pizzas it took them forever to make them yea sure its Saturday but the place was quite and most people had their orders so why the long wait huh. Try the place out by all means that if you have all the time in the world if you like a long wait

For the pizza this is really 5 star The ingredients are great and toppings unusual I dropped this to 4 stars though as the staff were not attentive and we tried hard to get their attention to order more drinks The seating also does not reflect the food

Lovely beers, pizza is decent. Clean and nice staff too. Well priced for the quality, but a bit limited to vegetarian and vegans

The stars aligned, and I finally found myself on that long-awaited pizza pilgrimage. I'll admit, perching on a bench without the promised back support didn't set the highest bar, but oh, how life loves to surprise! The small beer selection turned out to be a diamond in the rough, introducing me to a brew I'd normally pass on, and it turned out to be a hoppy revelation. Now, onto the pizza—the main act, the diva of the meal. The crust was a thing of beauty, a symphony of perfect texture and flavor. Although, in my humble opinion, it did flirt a tad too much with the edge of char. A mere ten seconds less in the oven, and we'd be talking about a slice of paradise. Let's talk tomatoes: none of those budget-bin Lidl impostors here. No, these were the VIP tomatoes that know how to party on the palate. The cheese—oh, the cheese! A role model of moderation, not a greedy cheese avalanche, but a tasteful cap. And those toppings? They danced gracefully, never overpowering, never too heavy. It's like a gourmet ballet in every bite. So, a standing ovation to the pizza wizards who've conjured up a slice of heaven right here in Nottingham. Bravo!

Having now been twice to this place, I am quite conflicted about it. The headline that should be taken away from this is that the food is excellent. I have been twice and both times the pizza was not run-of-the-mill. They are made with high quality ingredients, and taste superb. Why only 3*s though? Forced service charge is a particular bugbear of mine. We do not live in the USA where serving staff are paid poor wage, only for it to be topped up by tips. I can begin to agree that a (discretionary) service charge for 6+ groups could be okay, but when the table is a small quantity of people - it feel wrong. Of course, it's very hard to ask for this service charge to be removed from the receipt. It invites an uncomfortable conversation, which few people will do. I want to be given the choice to tip, not have it nearly-forced upon me. We may be in a cost-of-living crisis, and a lot of material costs have increased, and I know that places need profit to keep their doors open, to may the rent, staff, and business rates. But I object to not having any beers on the menu that are less than £5, in fact I do not believe there are any for below £6. The dips are £2.00 each. You would expect for this price to have enough dip for all of your crusts, nope. All sides are close to, or over £7. When a pizza and a dip costs you nearly £18, I don't think it matters how tasty it is - there are many other options for food in this vicinity which are comparable in quality and lower in price, and without a service charge. Will I go again? I'm not too sure. Will I recommend their pizza? Yes, "but it is not cheap and they force you to tip".

I'm almost afraid to write this review for fear of this place becoming too popular! When I say that this is the best pizza I've had outside of Italy I do not say it lightly. My best friend is from Naples and has lived in England for 15 years. She hates every attempt at Neapolitan pizza in England. (You heard it here first, don't go to Pizza Pilgrims..you're welcome!) But Slice n Brew is the ONLY one to have managed to pass the test. It's a small business which makes me happy knowing where my money is going. Be sure to try the Vodka Pie with extra pepperoni and of course the Detroit! You'll be dreaming and scheming for scotch bonnet honey for weeks after.

As part of a ‘Rate the Slice’ quest this Sunday we had to stop by Slice N Brew for a taste of their latest offering. They opened their doors back in October last year and are in a brilliant central location on Trinity Square. Firstly thank you so so much to Ryon for accommodating us on a day that they were technically closed. They’re usually open Tuesday - Saturday! Honestly THE BEST standout pizza I’ve had in years. I rarely rave this much about a pizza as they can sometimes be unmemorable but these guys absolutely know what they’re doing and we couldn’t stop going on about this pizza for the rest of the day. We went with the Vodka Pie - the cheesy pull did not disappoint and the Bloody Mary vodka sauce added an edge like no other that I’ve had before. The crusts were perfectly crisp and charred just how they should be. There’s a mortadella and pistachio pizza that I’m eyeing up for next time! Overall it’s got trendy modern vibes with a New York edge. Perfect for couples, friends and families. The service is excellent, all the staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. I have heard great things about this place and I’m just so pleased that it lived up to the hype! Keep up the great work guys!

We stayed at The Belfry as a last minute break. Our second night we had dinner at Roccas it was awful!!!!! Overcooked pasta which was just a plate of mush, and the worst kids pizza I’ve ever seen. Dry no topping. Ryder Grill is far better, amazing food friendly staff.
