Silver Service Cafe in Barnet

This is an excellent cafe, been here a few times over the last couple of years and has always been a good experience. The place is clean, smart, atmosphere is warm and inviting and staff very friendly and attentive. The place actually lifts the mood if you are in need of this. As for the food, everything is fresh, well cooked, tasty and the portions are very substantial. Probably one of the best cafes in the North West London area. Highly recommend this place.

I have been coming here since moving to the area 14 years ago. Always reliable, fresh and tasty food. Wide menu ranging from all day breakfasts, specials of the day, sandwiches, baguettes etc. Friendly staff and honestly priced

My wife and I came in for a proper meal and settled on a lamb roast dinner which consisted of a good portion of flavoursome lamb, roast potatoes and a selection of vegetables. All in all very good indeed and the price was fair.

A soggy Saturday morning in a rarely-visited part of North London and resigned to a free coffee in the nearby Waitrose (yes, I always go prepared) but the store didn't offer a sit down cafe so we took a stroll down the road and stumbled over the Silver Service. It's obviously a big favourite with locals because it was rammed, with a really friendly vibe and orders flying here and there. Lots of regular customers greeted by name, orders for tea and coffee anticipated, windows steaming up nicely. Top notch coffee, a great cup of tea, a well-filled bacon roll split in half and ditto for a sausage roll - the only disappointment, as it was that sliced Mediterranean rim version rather than a juicy banger. Prices were keen, though, and no complaints. Not sure when we might be a in a position to pop in again, to be honest, but a good one to file away just in case.

I have been passed here a few times but never tried it so decided to give it a go for lunch.They have an extensive menu but I went for one of my favourite dishes which is mushroom omelette. You can choose 2 sides out of chips, beans and salad so I went for beans and salad. The omelette was excellent with plenty of mushrooms, there was loads of beans and a fresh, varied and delicious side salad. It was a bargain price too at £4.80. I will certainly be back.
