We waited almost 2 hours for delivery despite the fact that we were told delivery would be between 45-60 minutes.

While traveling in Derry, I was craving Asian food and decided to give this place a try. I ordered Pad Thai and Tom Yum, two classic Thai dishes that are hard to go wrong with. Unfortunately, this was the worst Thai food I’ve had in a while. The atmosphere feels very authentic, but the taste definitely does not.

Tasty enough but it seemed like a lot of noodles and very little chicken, also chicken didn’t taste nice and juicy. Just feel like there something lacking in this Pad Thai dish. They changed the delivery time from 8.15 to 8.45

We enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant in December of 2024. We would definitely go back when in Derry ✌🏼

Quality of the food is so bad. Not sure what has happened as it used to be good. I was supposed to have chicken in my dish but it was literally just pieces of batter. No chicken what so ever. No flavour and just very oily. Will not be ordering again.

Delivery was early! Delivered well however the food was just not vibing. The food ain’t very authentic and it’s very oily. It’s not spicy as it says in the app and it’s missing some flavour too.

After hearing so much good reviews , we where left terribly disappointed. Flavour was missing , some food was freezing ( not cool from having to be delivered ). We love Thai food and this was sadly not it!

Food is super tasty and portions are big. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant are very relaxing.

This was the worst Massaman curry I have eaten. The dish contained hardly any meat, and even the amount of potato and onion was disappointingly small – not at all what you expect from a curry. The curry didn't have a rich, full flavor as you would hope. It seemed like everything from the spices to the coconut milk was used sparingly. What was especially missing was passion and love for the food. A good Thai curry should be full of flavor and show care in the kitchen, but here everything was flat. Even the simplest ingredients such as potatoes and onion were scarce and not well prepared. If you're looking for an authentic Thai meal, I would skip this place. The attention to quality and taste is completely missing.

always order from this place. the flavours are fantastic but the only issue is delivery time and food coming cold. I hope they work out a better system for deliveries as food nearly 90% of the time comes slightly warm and needs reheated.

Went here for a meal before heading for a show with my mum. We arrived not too long after it opened so we were able to get a table quickly. Staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to asking about allergens for menu items. Our food was served quickly and was very delicious. The only downside was how cold the restaurant was. Neither me nor my mum removed our coats and we found if we didn't eat fast enough our food would grow food very quickly. This meant that we felt rushed and couldn't fully enjoy our meal which was disappointing.

Need to sort out the takeaway service, ordered 2hrs ago still not arrived and the phone number on your App is switched off so no way of contacting you about the order. Not even operating to 1980's standard of communication 😡

We visited the restaurant on a quiet Sunday night and had beautiful soup and fish cakes for starters, and delicious main courses, good portions and very reasonable priced, waitress was lovely, couldn't fault the evening. Will be back and will spread the word to family and friends.

Nowhere in Derry could even remotely compare to the quality, taste and portions of Siam Thai. Absolutely astounding every time.

Rubbery Overcooked prawns. Overcooked dry fishcakes. Tasteless noodles.

Usually love it and will order again but the egg in the pad thai was burned and threw off the taste of the entire meal this time around.

Worst Thai food I have taken for 50 years. It is not Thai food, but fake Chinese food. I ordered Chief special duck, and the meat was terrible and tasteless. I don’t mind the cooking, but the meat was disgusting.

Fabulous food & staff. My second time to visit and I absolutely loved it again. The food was fresh and very tasty. Service was amazing. Can’t wait to go back

I would like to harshly condemn my partner for being a Derry local and not bringing me here earlier. The servings were generous and I loved every spoon I tasted. It's legit Thai cooked by a Thai chef. I'm not promoted I just need good Thai to survive this weather and am happy I found one to settle with ❤️

Food cold, poor quality and incorrect. Chicken was included in a vegetarian meal. Disappointed so we won't order again.

I've ordered from here a few times and it was great before but this time was bad. Food arrived early but it was all still cold. And also order a veggie noodle dish and it had chicken in it. Will not be ordering from here again.

Beautiful, fresh food. Attentive and friendly staff and really good value. The food was served very quickly and tasted really good. Can't wait to go back

We had Thai green chicken curry and vegetable pad Thai. The curry was the best we’d ever had and the pad Thai was delicious. The prawn crackers were lovely and seemed to be homemade and the dipping sauce was great. The service was excellent and the drinks were cheap! An excellent place to eat. Fully recommend.

21/07/24 Just another wonderful meal treat. Today I had the yummiest Beef noodle soup, 🍲 Guay Tiew Nam, So satisfying specially on this rainy day. I love the relaxing ambiance and music. Service and food were excellent as usual, sorry I didn't have the before picture I was too excited to eat, here's the after photo 🍲😊 ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟

Sorry to say the crispy pork was squeaky and the rice came in a bag. Not much authentic Thai tastes from the dish. The use of yellow peppers instead of Thai greens and other veg were also a disappointment.

The green gang kiew wan with chicken was excellent. I would recommend ordering the prawn crackers along with it because they come with a delicious dipping sauce

Authentic Thai food, served in great quality at great prices. Excellent tom sum (papaya salad) & larb gai (minced chicken with mint & spices). Lovely fresh pints of Tiger and Singha. Enjoyed the food, service and bill!

I think this place might have changed ownership. Got my order wrong twice in a few weeks. Veg soup had chicken in it. The pad Thai very sweet and chicken of extremely poor quality that I thought it was tofu , hope quality picks up . Just disappointed.

mixed starter was terrible- everything was cold and the dry chicken was bland. Very plain curry that was also cold. after waiting 1 hr 15mins it was all very disappointing!

The stir fry was really really good!

We were here only for the appetizers we got the shared platter. My husband and I felt the food was okay but just bland. The chicken skewers were cold. But the rest the wings and the spring-rolls were crispy and warm. The sauces 2 of them didn’t taste like home made sauce as it states in the menu. It tasted like its from a jar to be honest. Except for the one with nuts, it didn’t look like its from a jar. The service is excellent The atmosphere is alright but the floor is dirty and sticky.

It seems that good restaurants in the UK require reservations in advance. I was traveling unprepared and passed by this Thai restaurant. I just want to be able to eat it. Asian food shouldn't be bad either. 1. The entrance environment is dimly lit and the floor is messy and dirty. (Although the waitress takes a broom and cleans the floor from time to time. 2. From time to time, there is a musty smell from the basement where the bathroom is damp. (I really can’t imagine such a dining environment. I’m already vomiting before I even eat.) 3. I didn’t come with a group of people, I just wanted to evacuate (the people who were traveling with me had already ordered drinks, so I had no choice but to eat it) 4. Tom Yum soup (strange smelling dirty water mixed with chili oil + 🦐 and a few hard slices of squid) is not recommended 5. Papaya salad (probably the only dish I can eat) is three tablespoons less 6. Fried chicken (besides spicy, weird taste) subtle flavor 7. Thai fried rice noodles (strangely sweet and spicy), saccharine and spicy, hard to swallow. The key is that it retains the Thai seasoning smell. 8. Green curry (spicy and full of seasoning) This restaurant completely overturned all the positive impressions I had accumulated about Thailand. In the middle of the review, there was a stale toilet smell that hit my nostrils from time to time. (The negative review will be sent to you)

We ordered the veg and tofu pad Thai. We had one small tofu in both. We ordered the stir fry chicken and cashews. There was no cashew and fried chicken with raw vegetables. When we asked isn't this supposed to have cashew they sprinkled some cashew. They were not able to cope with a few tables and deliveries and the service was pathetic as well. We understand being busy but the napkins were dirty and they had no proper system in place of ordering. I would really not recommend it to anyone.

oh wow this has changed drastically, the food wasn't great for flavour and also it was lacking in quantity. for £18 order I expected more than a small portion of beef in a take away box. the food was lacking flavour and or any spice.

I and my husband were on a visit to Londonderry and on our first night, we decided to try this Thai place. We enjoy Thai food. I decided on this place after my search on Google maps but almost changed my mind because despite the good reviews, the few bad ones were really bad😩 I took a chance and thank goodness I didn't regret it. I'd have cried. We had the pineapple fried rice and the fried rice with chicken and pork. We asked for it to be very spicy. Both dishes were great. Waiter was courteous. The dishes, 4 tots of gin, two lemonade drinks and a pint of beer cost a total of £39.55. I have attached a picture of the bill in review. I really hope they fix the misses that seem to happen from time to time from what I can see in some if the reviews. I know how painful it can be when you're looking forward to a delightful meal and you are disappointed.

Not what it used to be at all. We ordered the monkfish and beef, paying way over the odds. The portions of meat and fish are do bad. They are a slap in the face. We ordered the mixed starter, with the monkfish and beef main dishes. Both came in the same sauce. Both were just 4 or 5 floaters of protein chunks in the soup. This used to be my favourite restaurant, but it has went to the proverbials. You don't get to raise your prices so high and not keep the same quality of food, but apparently, these guys do. Rip off

My order hasn’t arrived. I sent a message to just eat and they said there is a delay so I waited but still my order didn’t arrive. I tried to call “SIAM THAI DERRY” but they’re not answering. They can just tell me if the order will not arrive and they refund my money back. This is very unprofessional!!!

The food was excellent when it arrived. The service left something to be desired. Unfortunately there were only two staff on covering the floor. One was managing telephone and just eat orders, they came in thick and fast. The other was trying to manage a full restaurant. She was lovely but seemed very new and struggled. We waited 2.5 hours for food and didn't get our starters. To be fair to the restaurant they didn't charge for those. It might just have been the time of year and so was busy for mid week. I wouldn't blame the staff for the service but the management not putting on more staff or supporting new staff in their role.

Food is beautiful but every order has been late, whether we do delivery or collection. Will always say delivered in the app but nothing comes for another hour after that, very poor service.

I placed my order at 4.30pm the description said my food would be here by 5.40pm which was fair enough only my food didn't come to 6.10pm and it was cold by the time it got to me also small potions for the price, the food tastes not to bad tho I personally wouldn't order from them again

The food was awful, starters fish cakes, tasteless really not sure what it was. Other starter described as king prawns, filo pastry, or tempura but awful covered in heavy batter and smelly, bad. Chicken larb, nó seasoning or flavor, fatty chicken with red onion, we had ordered 2, 1 came out the other was 10 minutes later our friend had cashew nuts with vegetables she said was OK. I don't think they have a chef I think they have a lot of problems and the back area and toilet is so dark, what dirt is it hiding. Need to close, clean the place and get a chef.

Pre-ordered, order accepted at 19:30, rang at 20:00 was told it was out for delivery, rang again at 20:40 to be old they missed our order. Tried to get a refund, not getting refunded the delivery charge. Won't be back.

I loved everything about it, amazing service from the girl working the counter and every else was very friendly, I got the tiger cry and it was absolutely beautiful. Great selection of wine too which complemented the dish perfectly. All in all, it’s one of the only restaurants I’ve been too that I guarantee I’ll be back in all thanks to both the staff and the quality of the food, the staff I was especially impressed with

Siam Thai is a casual eatery in the old walled city. We were seated promptly, given the extensive menu and asked a minute later if we were ready to order. We ordered beers which arrived 2 minutes later, at which time we were again asked if we were ready to order. Um, no. We started with an order of vegetarian spring rolls (£ 5.5) and received three rolls. They were tasty but there was no knife to cut the third in half to share. I was disappointed with my cashew nut chicken (£ 12.5, includes jasmine rice). The chicken was deep fried and was in large chunks that had to be cut (again, no knife); carrots and onions were prominent but cashew nuts were sparse. My partner was happier with his yellow curry chicken (£ 12.5 with rice). We asked for water. The request was heard but forgotten. A second request was required. Overall, the food and service were both just okay. If I were again in Derry, I’d not return.

A taste of Thailand in this little unassuming place. The selection is fab, I certainly would recommend the veggie starter for two. All mains very reasonably priced and not over cooked

me and my Family stayed in Derry and based on the reviews we tried Siam Thai, and we were not disappointed, the food was amazing. we got red curry, green curry, Ginger and Scallion and kids Curry. the food was so fresh and a huge shout out to the Girl with the brightly coloured hair (i didn't get her name) who was serving us. she was the only waitress there and was amazing and efficient with her time. Next time I'm in Derry I will be back.

We really enjoy our meals from Siam Thai and a frequent visitors. We travel to get our takeaway and it's all worth it.

Nothing extraordinary but we found not many more options. As a tourist once it's ok, most likely I wouldn't go often as a local

This place takes an hour to give you your order when go to collect. Told we not be long but waited an hour . Told tables get prioritised even if your takeaway orders are in before these table customers. Absolute joke never ever had heard of this policy ever !! So potentially you could wait for your food for ever . Staff doctors not care and walk away when try to ask any questions. Won’t be back and neither will my extended family .

I went here for the first time at the weekend for a takeaway as I had heard so much about their food. I WILL NEVER BE BACK. THe level of service I received was unbelievable. When I placed my order I was told it would take 20 minutes as they were very busy. This I found acceptable. As I stood and waited I couldn’t help but notice that the restaurant was not that big and that most tables were already eating so I thought it shouldn’t take that long for my food to arrive. How wrong was I ! Twenty minutes passed, thirty minutes passed. I then asked the server it would be much longer. I was told it would be a few more minutes. In that time 3 groups arrived and sat at tables. After a further 10 minutes (40 minutes had now passed) these tables started to have their food served. I called the server again and brought to her attention that those tables arrived after me and they were already getting their food. To my horror and disbelief I was told that the chef gives priority to tables before takeaways. I have never experienced or heard of this before. I was in disbelief. It was then that I notice there was an American couple sitting waiting for their takeaway too and had a number of empty pint glasses in front of them which I took to be a measure of how long they had been waiting too. During that time another customer had arrived and was also waving a long time. He had ordered on their app which told him it would be ready in 15 minutes. He had now been waiting a considerable length of time and was also getting frustrated. In the end up it took 1 hour before I was served. I was about to cancel my order when it arrived. There was not one word of apology. In fact the staff were so unprofessional. They looked as if they were trapped in headlights. When I was ending with them they just looked back unresponsive looking into the near distance . As I received my order the other gentleman was in the process of trying to cancel his and get his money back as he wasn’t prepared to wait any longer. When I got home to eat the food I was so disappointed as the food was cold and very very average. I will never be back. As a side issue I also noticed the stench of sewage as I stood at the counter as mentioned by a previous contributor

We had a take away so possibly that's why our experience was so different to so many reviews here but I thought it was the worst Thai food I've ever had. As someone else pointed out could make it better yourself.
