Shimlas Oldham in Oldham

There is a female that works there who answers the shop number. She then rings the guys back from her personal number. She has done this to afew other people too. The manager needs to sort this out!!!!!

I’ve heard of Shimlas before, and wanted to try this place with a friend. We arrived at around 6.30pm and the restaurant wasn’t too busy, perhaps 30% full. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and has a chill vibe. This restaurant is 100% halal, and does not serve alcohol. The food here is decently priced, and there are big and small tables which is good for various size groups. The waitress was very friendly, and she answered any questions we had about the menu. We ordered the mixed grill platter, sides, and drinks. The menu says the platter takes around 30 minutes to prepare, and it was pretty spot on. While the food was being prepared, I went to pray in the prayer room downstairs. It was carpeted and very clean. There are also separate toilets downstairs for men and women, however they were both out of order when I walked past. The food was very yummy. The mixed grill was piping hot, each element was cooked to perfection, and very flavourful. It wasn’t dripping in oil either. The sides and drinks we ordered were also good, no complaints :) Overall, I would happily bring more friends and my family to this restaurant as it offers a number of grilled options, and karahi dishes :D

I came to the Shimlas Oldham and the customer service was really bad. My food was really dry I approached one of the workers and she turned around saying what shall I do ? Did not what so ever resolved the issue. She was very rude and disrespectful.

The mixed grill platter was smaller than expected for the price. The food took some time to arrive, but the restaurant had a pleasant and clean atmosphere.

I found hair in our food and they still arguing, the making it seem like it’s out fault. Awful customer services

Normally order from Here the foods always on point this time I’ve ordered the food was covered in mayo as the description didn’t state it would be on top as they stated the sauce would be separate also chips stunk of fish which meant the chips were contaminated so rang the restaurant and spoke to a lady but she was refusing to change the items the manager was to scared to talk to me on the phone what a joke my daughter couldn’t eat the chips due to the smell of the fish that was over powering I was told it’s there policy to cross contaminate food she said every restaurant is different but Shimla policy is to fry multiple items in the same oil really I’m sure this is not a policy as people do have allergies

Absolutely love shimlas this place is always a good shout. Food is always 10/10 family friendly and there’s free parking around the back just log your reg in when you go inside, or there is a pay and display across the road. The lamb chops are always 10/10 flavour wise and the meat so tender. Love the fish pakoras can eat loads of them lol. The fresh lamb balti or lamb chop tikka masala is our favourite curry. Blue lagoon mocktail is nice. Over all this place is always a good choice and I would certainly recommend.

I went this please good staff very polite the problem is I ordered few lamb karahi and fish everything got plenty of salt look like they bought salt from a deal 😀

As a former employee at Shimlas, it’s important to share my experience during my time there. The restaurant management was unprofessional and their treatment of staff was also poor. The waiter that trained me was rude and arrogant towards the customers and staff on many occasions. The restaurant’s claimed values are not upheld. They advertise themselves as boycotting products, such as 7Up, but still use them in mocktails and just disguise them in clear glasses. When a customer recognized the 7Up in their drink and asked for it, I poured it into a glass, only to be scolded by both the manager and waiter. This hypocrisy is disappointing and misleading to customers.

First visit last night for husbands bday Food was very nice Ordered mix grill Fish Karhai chicken Daal Naans Matka kheer Choc sponge Was plenty for 3 people Only downfall didnt realise we were sat right next to toilet which put me off (thats just me though) No sign on toilet door otherwise i like to sit away from it. Otherwise food was spot on And the young lady who served us could have smiled abit more. Looked like she didnt want to be there.

Well my first visit here was impressive. Such good quality food and the rotis so soft and fluffy made all the difference. Great service and cosy seating sections. Loved the evening out and loved the food. Priced very reasonably so all in all a great place to dine at.

It was my first time here unfortunately I won't be back. The starters were ok but the mains weren't cooked well, plain, greasy all in all not enjoyable. The desserts and drinks wernt good either

Ordered take away. One poppadom short. Chicken karahi looked like the chicken was cut off a kebab skewer. Not even chicken breast was used. Thanks for making my Friday night

Unfortunately having to resubmit a review and only putting 1 star so everyone can be made aware of this. I went to Shimlas takeaway after work on a Sunday night around 00:45 The food was great, I parked on the CUSTOMER car park This week I received a £100 fine through the post for parking on SHIMLAS CUSTOMER car park (£60 if paid within 14 days) I was there for 19mins and there was no obvious signage or telling of pay and display. The parking company reject any appeal and ignore all means of contact! The food was great and I really enjoyed it however I need all to be aware of the parking situation. THE MOST EXPENSIVE TAKEAWAY IVE HAD

Went with some friends last night (first time for me) and being the only vegetarian I was a little apprehensive because there were only curries available. However, when I spoke with the lady who took my order and I explained the concept for a paneer tikka kebab dish, she bought the chef over and he listened attentively. Although nervous, he was happy to give it a go and I must say I was blown away (forgot to take pics)! Another thing which sets them apart is that nothing was too much trouble; they were patient, professional and truly care about the food they serve & customer service. Note to chef: maybe you can add it onto your menu because I’ll be back very soon with my family 😊 Thank you once again. Bhav

The chicken donner from here has to be the best I've ever had, can't fault the food or the service, excellent each and every time. I would also go for the meat chops masala as that is also delicious.

Their food (halal) is really nice and they have a lovely milk cake I can hardly resist. The only downside is they need to use other delivery as Uber Eat is so annoying.

Was served by Aseeba, her recommendations were spot on . Both items she recommended tasted delicious. Her service was very prompt and we were well looked after. The fish pakora and the masala fish were very tasty with a lightly spiced batter and the fish was flaky ( you don't always get that). Meat pakora was a pleasant and delicious surprise. Portions were generous. Would highly recommend, will be surely visiting again with the family. Visited again today (08/11/2024). Food still holding up. Served by Sanah, top service , keep it up.

Excellent service, lovely resteraunt, clean and very tasty food. Tried the mixed grill, burger and biryani all delicious - and all well priced, would highly recommend anyone to come here for a lovely resteraunt meal!

We ordered mutton handi and the meat was hard and raw. We sent it back and the chef said that this is the way we cook the food. I would not recommend shimla especially anyone trying mutton handi of this place.

Amazing experience at Shimlas Oldham! The food was delicious and beautifully presented — we loved the “Chicken Dynamites and Chicken Donner. Aseeba was very friendly, professional and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. The ambiance was perfect. Highly recommend for a memorable meal. We’ll definitely be back!

I had a disappointing experience at Shimlas. The food was horrible—served cold and lacked quality. The service was dreadful; the staff seemed uninterested in listening to our concerns and, instead of addressing the issues, made excuses. Overall, it was an unpleasant visit, and I wouldn’t recommend it based on my experience.thank you

This place is becoming a joke the chicken tikka is always raw the chips seems like they have been cooked in the morning and served in the evening expensive and horrible portion size not enough for the amount of money it’s worth the one in Bradford is way better will not be ordering again 🙃

Food was spot on asked to turn music off and put a nasheed on they did it straight away no questions asked lovely sister at the front off the restaurant she is mashallah very helpful should be getting a raise very gluten friendly and any allergies

I ordered last week - the meat seekh kebab naan and oh my gosh it was so rubbery and tough to eat. Kebab so hard to break off and chew. It had long pieces of strings of fat and was just not pleasant. Cut down on the fat that makes it so rubbery and tough.make it edible

The mixed donner with naan is overrated. They put too much cinnamon in the sauce on the chicken donner. I've had it before and the cinnamon is always overpowering. The dynamite chicken was nice and tbr portions sizes are good value
