I and my two friends fish at the lakes at this venue most Fridays. We always start with a cooked breakfast. The food is always cooked fresh by Julia. It's always tasty with quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly and the price is very reasonable. I would thoroughly recommend it

We remembered passing this place on our way to Lutterworth and stopped on the way back. Very pleased we did, I had a really good egg and bacon bap and a nice cuppa. Outside (though undercover if necessary) at the moment but a nice stop.

We'd heard about this place but never visited so thought we'd give it a try, really glad we did! It's in a lovely location and the sun was shining which made it even nicer! Set in beautiful countryside and part of a fishing lake, great to sit out on the veranda in the sunshine watching the fishermen! There is a breakfast and lunch menu, all very reasonably priced, (small breakfast including toast and tea/coffee £4.95, large breakfast £6.95) my dad had the small breakfast and said it was delicious (he was really chuffed they had fried bread!) no black pudding though! Kitchen is open so you can see everything being cooked fresh (it has a 5* rating for food hygiene) we had an issue with first cups of coffee not being hot (boiler not switched on!) but the lovely ladies gave us another cup for free! We loved it here and will definitely be visiting again!

Stopped off on our way to drive some tanks on a Sunday morning. We arrived just after 9am and were happy to find a cosy little cabin open at that time (most other local places looked to be closed or open around 11.00am on a Sunday). Friendly welcome and fast service, with the breakfasts made fresh to order in the open kitchen. Good quality bacon and sausage, so better option than a tired, overpriced hotel breakfast.

A little hidden gem set in the Leicestershire country side is located at a set of fishing lakes. The cafe is open for all day breakfast and brunch, with teas and coffee and has a licensed bar. offers free WiFi that is fast and reliable. Ideal for a stop off when on a journey or even a informal business meeting. Excellent service, hot food and good portions for reasonable price

Wonderful selection of cakes + great coffee. Stopped here to grab lunch and enjoyed a really nice takeaway quiche, some very tasty tiffin and a great cup of coffee. Prices reasonable and the service could not be more friendly

Top Notch, every time, stayed in the Gate House this visit, just as peaceful, just as clean and tidy and just as well equipped as the studio's, see you again soon.

When I wrote a review for this delightful venue in August I had no idea that I would have the opportunity to revisit in September but our coach once again stopped in MH for a break so I hot footed it to Ruffles and experienced the same welcome as previously. They offer a variety of themthe most delicious home made scones as well as other goodies. Helpful staff, great service. I really enjoyed my tea and scone and maybe one day the coach will stop at MH again. This town has so much to offer, and is well worth a visit.

I am so glad this place is back to what it is. Post-covid they tried just being a deli and a grocers and the whole of lutterworth missed it. There is nowhere else for us that matches it. The food today was as good as ever, the ultimate breakfast sandwich defeated both that attempted it and we spent a few bob after browsing the fine foods shelf. We've missed you guys and whenever we are back I'm the area we love a quick visit. We did have to wait a little today (which we were warned to be fair). Negative for me today , my latte was with not particularly nice coffee and had quite an amount of coffee grounds in the bottom. This will definitely not stop us from revisiting
