Shalimar in Aberdeen City

Been eating from Shalimar for years and they have never failed to impress us with the quality and quantity of food. Amazing value for money especially in Aberdeen. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Awesome food. Still out favorite weekly treat. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to put things right if it does go wrong.

My partner's pizza and cheese kebab smelled so awful, we thought our dog had an accident! As a regular customer for five years, I was disappointed when the takeaway staff were dismissive and rude about the issue. They wouldn't even consider replacing the £6.50 kebab. Oh well, I got a refund through JustEat and learned my lesson – I'll be finding a new takeaway

This used to be the best local takeaway however since the new owners took over and the wonderful Avril and her team left its gone completely downhill. The new owners son has excuse after excuse for poor food with none of the blame being down to them. I gave them a final chance as had been using them for 20 years but after getting a build your own kebab swimming in oil and biting into a chip full of oil im done. Bring back Avril and the standards she maintained!

Littered their cheap looking flyers all over the street. No respect for the local community. They obviously don't care about their own business if they're willing to dump their advertising into people's gardens so I dread to think what the food is like.

I came all the way from Birmingham to stay at Aberdeen and tried shalimar what a place, Service was fantastic most of all the curry and garlic naan absolutely fantastic Ive had my fare share of Currys but got to say best in the NORTH 10/10 BEAUTIFUL KEEP IT UP WILL COME BACK AGAIN VERY SOON AND RECOMMEND ALL THE WAY FROM BRUM 5*

Avril is lovely but test of staff are terrible ordered a pizza covered in black short hairs about 15+ hairs and told have to wait till next time now have to go get something else to eat after spending out on a takeaway so will be taking pizza to food standards as only person who weares a hair net is Avril

Favourite Indian takeaway in Aberdeen. Everything is good - the lamb bahalwapuri is delicious.

Ordered a vegetable passanda, which was sauce with a handful of basic frozen veg and tinned potatoes?! So NOT QUALITY FRESH INGEDIENTS!!!! Pretty poor. Sauce was bland and tasteless. Other food ok. Asked for student discount as advertised, but told as order contained a meal deal it wasn't valid. Not even on the other £25 of food i ordered that wasn't part of it. Won't rush back and attitude of the boy serving was rubbish, he would rather have been anywhere else. Other places much better quality and service for the price we paid.

Ordered based on reviews but I’ll be sticking with my favourite Indian takeaway in the future. Ordered chicken tikka Pasanda and it had no flavour, it was really bland and not tasty at all -best part about it was the chicken tikka chicken in the dish.

We have been using Shalimar for years, wouldn’t go anywhere else, always excellent and very good value. More than enough food to go round with a set menu, plenty for a cheeky Indian lunch the following day or on occasions I have frozen left overs and used at a later day, still as nice.

Not long moved into the area and have been to this takeaway quite a few times. Never had a bad meal as the staff are always consistent. Looking forward to my next one 👍🏼

Love the Kebabs from Shalimar. They have good food. You can phone in your order or they deliver. You wait at the door for your food and they will bring it out to you and then you pay. The staff were wearing a face masks and were friendly.

Been ordering from shalimar tandoori ever since I was a little kid, the woman who used to own the place was amazing and even remembered my order off by heart. I'm pretty sure it's under new owners now but ordered the other week and the food is still just as good and the woman on the phone was very friendly, highly reccomend this place.

Best Indian food in Aberdeen - BIG thumbs up. UPDATE: They've been closed since February after a fire, but they've now reopened, and I'm very happy to say they're still serving the best curries in town. Won't be getting takeaway curry anywhere else 👍

Very poor, chicken came out of a big tub and then into the microwave and then into my kebab, needless to say I was on the toilet an hour later,, staff had no masks on and neither did half the customers that came in during my 30min wait, won’t be back

¡Bienvenido de nuevo Shalimar! Quedamos devastados cuando nuestro restaurante indio favorito de 10 años o más se cerró debido a un incendio hace unos meses. Finalmente, se vuelve a abrir después de la remodelación y la comida es tan buena como siempre. Pedimos nuestro habitual de 2 curry más lados (y una pizza) para la entrega a domicilio a Bridge of Don. El servicio fue rápido, en 45 minutos, y la comida estaba bien caliente. La comida es siempre de gran calidad y excelente relación calidad-precio.

Ordered a Chicken Vindaloo last night due to it being my favourite meal, and some estaestablishment are better than others but I have to say it was one of the best I have had!

Excellent food with fantastic staff!!! You must try their King Kebabs on Nan bread. They are without doubt the best value for money kebab not just in Aberdeen but the whole of the north east of Scotland. I would go as far to say it's one to tick off your food bucket list!!!

In my opinion, THE BEST Indian in Aberdeen. Never had a bad meal, the kormas are all amazing, my other favourites are Lamb Jalfrezi and Bahawalpuri! Quality food.

Amazing food and the prices are unbelievable. I ordered a calzone and chips cheese curry sauce for work which came to something like £10.50 and what a meal. Im the type of person that can eat 2/3 burger kings and still be hungry but this places portions are huge! Great atmosphere and they have a steady flow of customers. Never queing out the door but they always have someone buying food all the time. Well worth it. Only issue is parking

Shalimar is not on just Eat so can't review them there. Can't review them on their website either so I have made the effort to review them here. I have just recently started ordering from them and I have nothing but good reviews. The burgers and kebabs are to die for at great prices. Unlike most rip off places, Shalimar pride themselves on good service, good portions at an affordable price. The burgers are THE best I've tasted but the kebabs........SO fresh. The meat is so fresh, the salad is fresh and you have the option to have your salad and sauce served seperately. This means nothing turns up soggy. Lastly, the girl on the phone is so helpful. Customer service is clearly very important to them and delivery is quick. I highly recommend this place as a hidden gem in Aberdeen. Have yet to taste a curry but when I do, I know it will be good 👍

By far the best Indian in Aberdeen ive always said meat is rotten in Aberdeen but my god its the only place that can make kebab sauce the stuff you get from other place is like blended carrot mixed with coriander and chilli powder shalamars food is good all i care about is portion size tbh so it made me happy wee women is a bit of a mung but overall excellent. and if your wondering by title everywhere else doesn't fill me up i end up going to Mcdonalds straight after. Not a joke just speaking honesty ie GOOGLE FLAT EARTH

I have been using the Shalimar for over 20 years and absolutely adore their Samundri and Mirchi Garam Masala (as well as many other dishes). The king prawns are massive and the lamb and chicken extremely tasty. The Tandoori Platter is a huge meal (enough for 2) and absolutely brilliant. The nan breads are massive and always perfect. The delivery service is always on time and very reasonable and the staff have always been very helpful and pleasant.

South Indian garlic chicken is great

Asked for a mixed donner kebab - its the worst kebab ive probably eaten. My pitta bread was mircowaved so it was soggy. My chicken wasnt kebab it was just chunks theyd flavoured and cut up - also microwaved for some reason. The doner meat was alright. Any mixed kebab ive had elsewhere has been far better and had more kebab types in it aswell. I must say it wasnt great. First and last time going there.

Great friendly people best food I've tasted and I've tasted a lot from Glasgow to Aberdeen .

Really nice food. All hot , only issue was no names on the lids, this would have been helpful as we had 7 meals and most looked the same.

I could see them using a microwave to heat up something they had gotten out from the back, and neither of the two people working were wearing gloves. The room was unclean and smelled a little off. I could see frayed wires sticking out from the ceiling. Safe to say I will not be coming back here. Overpriced and dirty.

It is the best you can expect from a moderately priced kebab shop, the student curry meal deal became a weekly mainstay of my diet in Aberdeen at £5.95 for a poppadom, curry dish and rice, chips or naan. The quality was great, although I do not recommend the sweet and sour curry because while it is what it says, it is not a good curry. The staff are lovely, so much so that the lady working there ran down the street shouting after me when I forgot my change one night!

South Indian garlic chicken is immense Greatest Indian in Aberdeen

I've been using the Shalimar ever since they moved from their sit in premises on Holburn Street. The curries are fresh and delicious. The lamb is of good quality. There is a discount for telephone orders which you collect. This is my favourite Indian take away. I drive in 12 miles to collect from here father than go to those in Ellon only 3 miles away.

I have been visiting the Shalimar for over a decade and never fail to be impressed by the quality and quantity of food on offer. I usually opt for the roop ki rani, whilst my partner has South Indian garlic chicken. These factors combined with friendly staff make this our number 1 choice for curry take-away in Aberdeen.

IMO This is simply the best Indian take away in Aberdeen. I've been to loads and can safely say that I get the best curry's here. Never disappointed, always great amounts of meat, lush sauces and fantastic pakoras. My only gripe, they are not on an internet site justeat/ hungry horse etc and I have to phone my order. Worth it though for the food!
