Amazing food at brilliant prices.. staff are very friendly and quick serving.. didn’t have to wait long for food. Will definitely be going back. Pleasant pub great atmosphere.

I was intending to stop in the Gower BUT so glad I didn’t! This pub, whilst its outside may not appeal to many, is truly a golden nugget! The welcome is friendlier than many pubs I’ve visited and, as a Motorhome owner, I was delighted to be invited to stay on their secure, flat, quiet car park A short walk away from the fabulous Welsh Coast Path Thank You 🙏 so much for your hospitality and, if I’m lucky enough to return, I will be back

Well another fantastic visit, food atmosphere and service was excellent. This occasion we had fish in homemade batter, chips and peas. Freshly cooked and superb taste, excellent value for money. Thank you Aimee and colleagues for a great night.

Amazing service and food. I can't praise this venue highly enough. The staff are super helpful and always look to above and beyond especially Sarah and Victoria. Nothing is too much trouble for them and we always get such a warm welcome. Food was outstanding. There's a lovely new menu. We had the Thai curry, the fajita's and lasagne - all exceptional. Venue was spotless too. This pub first class since Gary took over and we will always return.

Amazing staff with tasty food. It was a party of 14 of us for a 93rd birthday of a Korean War Royal Navy veteran. The staff were very accommodating. We'll definitely be returning for other occasions.

The best meal I've had in porthcawl, lovely atmosphere and amazing food both in taste and presentation. All the staff were lovely and really helpful, would advise anyone to try here.

What a lovely pub. From the moment we came into the pub, everything was amazing. Lovely warm welcome , fantastic atmosphere , very knowledgeable staff , they went through the new menu and mentioned the deals, which was steak and a drink. We had steak and a doner kebab. The food was amazing. 10 out of 10 for food, drink, atmosphere and staff. Will definitely be returning. I would book a table next time though as the restaurant was busy.

Went to the Seagull this afternoon to try the new menu, I have to say the food was excellent. I had the new kebab with salt n chilli chicken, delicious 😋 I also had the new salted caramel cookie brownie for dessert, wow!

Was taken out for a meal, the staff were friendly and polite. The food was really good value giving variety of choice and good quantity. Overall very impressive, will have to visit again

Our Christmas meal was the best I've had in a long long time, the tables were festively dressed, and the service was second to none, well done the Seagull Hotel you've got it just right!

Visited with my partner and toddler 2 weeks ago. We were served by a Victoria who was very welcoming and friendly. There was a great selection on the menu which was very reasonable. The food was fresh and tasty and there was plenty of it. We will defo visit again :)

Took our son upto the seagull for a birthday meal (can’t do much at the moment) all felt very safe with one way system and track and trace in place but best bit is the chef and menu has changed slightly - have to say the food was amazing! Have eaten in the seagull quite a few times but this visit was by far the best xxx

I popped in for a little Saturday night drink. Received fantastic service from all of the staff.... from the moment we came in the door to Sarah’s friendly welcome, Rhys’s smiley welcoming pint, and Jess who delivered the drinks with a lovely warm smile and endearing character. Would recommend this pub every day of the week! I felt safe and welcome.

Booked for Sunday lunch. Table was unclean and we had to request it to be cleaned. We Waited just under an hour for starters which arrived lukewarm. The steak was overcooked and missing onion rings. The Sunday lunch was missing the peas and the gravy was like water! Although staff were happy to make another steak they only suggested that the Sunday roast be placed under heaters whilst waiting for the steak to be done. Only positive, was a full refund given.

We went on a weekday so hardly anyone there at lunch time. Lovely people run the place and hubby had a very nice sausage and mash but my mac and cheese was so salty as to be nearly inedible.I imagine there would be a great community feel in the evenings so I can't really judge with any accuracy. Old fashioned but not in the "Olde English Traditional" way. A bit run down but it isn't in a touristy spot so more a 'locals' pub.

Came with our family on Wednesday and couldn't believe our luck, first visit and won't be our last!!Kids eat for £1 and wine Wednesday 2 glasses for £5. The food was good, quick and friendly service but one of the best bits were the board games in the bar. Kept both adults and kids entertained.Would definitely recommend

Used to be a great pub but now filled with children running around and being noisy. Can’t have a quiet drink and adult conversation in there anymore.

Been going to Porthcawl for years and had no idea this place was there. Being a fan of Rev James beer by Brains thought we would give it a try. We were amazed a the service and friendliness of the staff who could not be faulted. We had Sunday Lunch there which was inexpensive and very tasty. Give the place a try

Visited this pub sunday my 2 daughters and my 2 nieces and 4 children we ordered food and drinks .. staff very polite but the best thing was when a few of the regulars commented on how well behave our kids were what a cracking pub and great people.... Thank you

i have to say finding out there was 50% off on a Monday was a great start. I had the cod (which was more like a whale) and my partner had the lasagne. they were both lovely and well presented.

The Seagull has a menu which covers most standard pub food - grills, scampi, sausage and mash, chicken. There was a friendly atmosphere, and the locals in the bar area were hotly contesting a game of pool.The food was well cooked and served promptly. Order and pay at the bar, menus are on the tables. It is possible to book a table. There's a big car park round the back.This is a good place to come if you want a good quality pub meal with no frills or fancy dishes to worry about.

We stopped here for some food on a rushed journey to the motorhome dealership.

Delightful service and great food, highly recommend it.Katrina was awesome and went out of her way to help. All 7 of us really enjoyed it.

Came here and told there was a half hour wait on food, food wait was actually an hour and then for food to come out, most dishes were cold and unappetising, we never leave bad reviews but on this occasion it wasn’t the best. Only one team member also seemed to be rushing around and doing work and one other seemed half bothered and not really wanting to help.

Had a meal with the family on a Sunday, the Sunday lunch was warm and the extra meals consisted of burgers that were burnt in the buns. The staff were half arsed and the sundaes were a blob of ice cream covered in squirty cream. All around disappointing.

3rd visit to this pub since we moved nearby ---- have to say a great improvement on the food -- well done all + thanks

The Seagull is our local pub and we are there at least twice a month for food. Recently the quality of the food hasn’t been as good, then hallelujah along comes Tracey. After a spur of the moment decision we popped in for tea and were not disappointed at all. All of our meals cooked by Tracey were delicious and the drinks and excellent service were provided by Katrina. Won’t be too long before we’ll be over again x

Went to the Seagull in Nottage tonight for a Bar Meal .

As the title says, called in one evening a couple of weeks ago. Interesting place, hard to find unless you know the area. Quite busy, good atmosphere. Pub grub, but good veggie and vegan options. Reasonably priced for what you get. Would return if in the area.

After a brisk walk on Porthcawl seafront we made our way to The Seagull on Sandpiper road.

Don't be put off by the outside or location.

Amazing food and service. Katrina was fantastic with my grandchildren. We all had a fabulous time. Highly recommend 10 out of 10 will come back soon thanks

We didn't even know this place was there, we visited because we won a meal for two in a charity auction, nut we will be back. While it's part of the Brain's chain and therefore what's on offer is much the same as many it was the service that took this place up a level. On the whole we thought the meals were good value and very tasty, the service is what makes this place special.

call this a 24oz mixed grill , you get 2oz of gammon , 2 oz steak , half of the smallest chicken breasts ever seen , chop was a chop , sausage a sausage 2 eegs with shell , no tomato as stated 3 soggy onion rings , 6 soggy chips {1 had 7 ) cold peas & and a £1 extra for a small mushroom cut into 4 , ordered 3 at £45 , do not waste your money eating here , better value and better food just down the road

Once again another very good meal in the Seagull & you can’t fault the value for money. The burger was juicy and very meaty, the bun fresh and the chips perfectly cooked. Both of us cleared our plates

Lovely meal eaten today.......Taverners chicken very moist & tasty........family all enjoyed their fish meals. Jaffa cake sundae was delicious...... thoroughly recommend a visit.

Had a wonderful lunch time meal today, compliments to the chef. Food came out quickly and efficiently. Bar staff were friendly and could not do enough for me.

We always go here for food but after yesterday I’m not too sure,I ordered chicken madras took him 10mins after too say they didn’t have any,husband always has a mixed grill there was no black pudding when I asked he said they had none,one sausage which was black burnt&was; like a brick,enough chips for a child&meat; that was only just good enough for my dog,I complained too the young boy behind the counter&i; even asked was sarah there as I think she would have offered our money back or some kind of apology,I had sweet potato chips which were very cold and my chicken was dry as a bone,there was only about 6ppl in the restaurant but we had too wait 45mins for our meal,when we was given our meals nobody come and asked were they okay as at that point he could have being told and maybe a refund would have being offered! Our dirty plates were left on our table&he; never asked us was we having a pudding like we are normally asked! Absolutely disheartened as this is our favourite place in Porthcawl for food and a nice beer my father-in-law says! Seen a young girl come out of the kitchen if she was the cook then she needs some training as 4meals 45minutes is just unacceptable and the food was cold and not enjoyable.

A group of 7. All ordered meals the same time. First 2 came. Then 10 mins later 3 came . Then 30 mins the sauce came . That went back. Guess what . 2 people had no meal. Now this place is a brains pub. Run by brains. Do yourselves a favour and sell to Wetherspoons. Because they can run pubs and serve food. This is a great pub with nice friendly staff.

Went for a meal last Friday 6 of us 3 of us had the Fish and Chips it was the worst meal I ever had the Fish was horrible couldn’t it .In fact the meals the rest had were just ok

called to this pub with a minibus of friends for the Halloween party, had the most amazing welcome by the landlady and all of the regulars, will definitely be going back. didn't have food but it all looked amazing i have already booked to go back for the Christmas menu.

Called in yesterday for food and have to say for a chain the food was excellent and the service was so pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. Drinks were served promptly the staff made recommendations for what to have for lunch and we were not disappointed. Thank you all for a lovely lunch.

When you eat in a chain pub these days you unfortunately expect to have a microwaved meal however you should expect to get food that is at least edible. The food my whole table received was shocking , feels like the chef has given up and could not even be bother to send out what must be a fool proof menu. Will go else where next time .

Very nice pub brilliant food and great choice of beer and ciders and the music box is very good has a lot of great choices of music had many hours of fun listen to music I actually like instead of back ground music will definitely come again

The best disabled access in the whole of porthcawl, had a fantastic welcome from the regulars. My friend has cerebal palsy and he was made at home. The access for the disabled is the best around and the food was great. Thanks for the lovely welcome and the great food.

Had lovely food, reasonable prices, noticed one waitress was always on her feet she done fab constantly talking to the customers if there was anything she could do. She had a funny atmosphere and made you feel very welocmed I caught her name Laura. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

We ordered our meal at 7.10om it arrived at the table at 8.15pm the pub was not that busy either. The food when it arrived as lovely the desert toffee waffle banana split was amazing. Would I eat there again probably yes if they speed up the waiting time.

Very disappointed with the meal last weekend. Completely lifeless plates of frozen food, Misses agreed we would not be going back. When it was first refurbished a while back it was excellent so not sure why it has changed. Maybe it was just a bad day.

We visited to celebrate my parents’ wedding anniversary and had a lovely meal. All meals were delicious and the menu had many excellent offers (2 for £10). Lovely atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Happy staff, smiling always. Average beer prices, what you'd expect from a pub. A well priced food menu, the quality you get is what you expect for the price. I had the Thai Chicken which didn't have too much flavour, but again, cannot complain for the price. Excellent side of sweet potato fries served on the side with some coleslaw.

We found this place down the road from where we are staying in Rest Bay and found a wonderful pub with excellent food, prices and a warm friendly staff who have been very accomodating and helpful with any information we have asked for. Highly recommended. Cheers.

Hidden away in the heart of the huge Nottage modern estate and opposite a small rank of shops.Almost a village green atmosphere as the outside seating spreads over the grass.Quite distant from Old Nottage to the north.

Called in as I always do when passing Porthcawl, seems a menu change has happened and all for the better. Plenty of choice, definitely something for everyone and not for the faint hearted. If you’re hungry and in Porthcawl this is the place to visit!

Had a couple bad meals but realy not happy now, booked a table told and told stop serving 8pm so tried to ring from 7.35pm to say we were on our way and to order what we wanted to eat - no answer for 10min and eventually got through 7.45pm as we 5 min away to be told stopped serving.

We visited the Seagull for the first time on Saturday, 7 of us all together, including our 2 young children.

I Hadn’t been to the Seagull for a while after we had a couple of not so great meals some time ago but so glad I decided to return after friends had told me they’d had lovely meals there over the past few months and I have to say I was not disappointed by either the food or service.

My husband and I visited for food tonight after not being in for a while and I have to say what a pleasant, welcoming and friendly place! Food was scrumptious and you can’t complain for the price! Special mention to Chantelle who was an absolute delight, goes out of her way to ensure 100% satisfaction and couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome, she didn’t stop little pocket rocket thank you!! We will definitely be back :) keep up the good work team!

Great prices on the beer and a good range to choose from. Patrick the barman always keen to recommend a good beer and staff are very friendly (if always a little busy). There are some cracking food deals as well and the food is good pub fayre. Cracking pub that has loads of space outside for kids to play in the warmer months as well. Well done Brains for turning this around from the dump it was becoming 6-7 years ago.

Ser parte de esta industria es extremadamente difícil de encontrar todo lo que buscas u en una noche rara, sin embargo cada martes yo, mi marido y mi hijo visita El Seagull una muy cálida bienvenida, gran equipo trabaja duro y encantador ambiente.

Hemos estado comiendo en el Seagull por más de 2 años con regularidad una vez o a veces dos veces a la semana y aunque no siempre se entregan las mejores comidas en general, ha sido muy buena y el servicio es excelente, así que normalmente he estado odié tener que darles una menos de crítica positiva.

Hemos visitado varias veces y siempre me ha impresionado. Fue particularmente agradecidos por el recibimiento que nos dieron cuando llegamos como un grupo grande. El director fue muy servicial. Había 15 de nosotros en total, celebrando un cumpleaños. Todos tuvimos comidas diferentes, que salieron juntos sin problemas, y todos disfrutamos. Recomiendo encarecidamente, y sin duda volveremos. Tener algunas un poco quisquillosos como parte del grupo, quienes estaban encantados con su comida hacía una experiencia agradable!

Food was tasteless and the portion of Thai green curry and rice was ridiculously small. We have used this pub several times for food but based on our last experience we won't be returning again for food!

Let me please start this off by saying that this review is not left light heartedly. However based on the fact that we had been to eat here four times in the last week this was my reaction.i will start off by saying that I have no issue with the food here whatosever as it is really good food.Me and my wife always eat in places like this as it quick and easy to get to and there no hassle after a long day at work.We ordered the southern fried chicken BBQ melt in a bloomer as it was really nice and our usual to pints of diet pepsi. I will start off by saying that the size of the bar they have needs two people on serving at all times not one and this was my first little niggle as i was waiting to order while the guy was serving two members of staff there and at a snails pace.Usually we get our cutlery at our table rather quickly but not today. When our meals arrived it was brought to us by i think the manager and she was not very welcoming and she put our food down and went back for our side order. When she returned she plopped it down on the table without a thank you or enjoy and proceeded to walk away and not ask us if we wanted anything else or sauces. My wife then asked her what we usually ask the waitress when we receive our meal and we were replied with "do you have a tab as it is 50p each for sauces" no please dont mistake me here as i dont begrudge paying for sauces if thats what happens but we had eaten there on three previous occasions in the last week and on all occasions we asked for sour cream and was brought our request NO CHARGE! When we contested the charge and stated that we have always gotten sour cream for free on EVERY other occasion we have eaten there we were told then you must have been very lucky. I thought to myself is this person for real. she proceeded to repeat herself and ask if we still wanted it and did we have a tab. Then to top it off we overheard her saying to her barstaff in a rude manner that they were lucky if they were going to get it for free.This person needs some training in customer service as i feel she has none. Lastly we heard her chef making a huge racket in the kitchen and shouting like a mad man - not the kind of behaviour you expect from a restaurant.So sadly we will not be returning to this Brains pub - i hope the £1 was worth it as we regularly eat in you chain - (We will be returning to the two brewers - same pub range and menu and MUCH BETTER service).One last thing - if you are going to charge for sauces please be consistent and stop your own staff from waltzing into the kitchen and serving herself masses of the stuff when she is OFF duty (something i think breaches health and safety).Apologies for all the team that have been lovely to us the last 3 occasions but unless brains appoints a new manager that can be polite to customers that are paying her salary we will not be returning.

Eaten here with family and work colleagues several times and always enjoyed. Good special offers on weekdays. Lasagne is lovely and grills are also good. Nice atmosphere that doesn't break the bank.

Enjoyed a very good meal after very long wait. Booked a table and arrived early, only to find that a large party, who has booked a table for a later time had arrived early and were getting served first. This caused delays to ourselves and other diners, over an hour wait for the meal. Orders should be processed in the same order as the table bookings, not allowing queue jumping in this manner.

We visited this pub as a family on a quiet afternoon for a pub lunch after the Christmas Holiday period. My daughter bought drinks and was told by the barman that there was a 30 minute wait for food. I then went to order 5 minutes later , when the same member of staff refused to take my food order, stating the chef was too busy! Even the regulars could not believe what he was saying! This leaves the reputation of the pub and Brains on the floor for me. It is with regret I have to post this review, as we have been treated well and with good food in the past. We will not be returning.,

My Wife and I had to visit a Client in an area of Porthcawl I've never been to before, and as it was 5 p.m. on a Saturday evening we asked the Client if there was somewhere local to eat and she recommended this fantastic place in the middle of a private estate.It was spotless on entering and we both had the gammon meal and it was fantastic, piping hot and plentiful.We then had a sweet each, which again was delicious!Two coffees followed and the pint of IPA beer was the best I've tasted!Thank you to the dark haired Lady with a pony tail behind the Bar and the duty Chef who made it a memorable evening!Take note all other Brains pubs in the area - you should be as good as this one!
