Sea Salt + Sole in Aberdeen City

Iwe was so disappointed in our order tonight, we had 2 jumbo haddock supper, 1 standard haddock single (they were all the same size) the fish was cooked but the batter was still soft not crispy at all, we also had portion of tattie fritters batter was the same and we had portion of onion rings WELL WHAT CAN I SAY batter was even sticking to the onion ring it was just a box full of grease they were TERRIBLE and who ever cooked the chips..... they was soft in the middle but chips was still white!!!!! Over £50 paid in my order and most of it went in the bin....I am very disappointed and usually tell people that this is the best chipper ....NOT ANYMORE!!!!! I wont be back 😡

Had the chicken trap for a change. It was delicious. No chips required - but did steal some of my kids chips and cheese which they live. My son likes the panko haddock and my daughter the smoked sausage. We always get excited when it's a Sea Salt and Sole dinner. It never fails to please or fill.

We got fish suppers from here the other night. The food is really good, highly recommend trying the battered haddock. The prices are very steep which means we can't come as often as we like.

I love my fish and chips and I realise how prices have went up . But this establishment is on the verge of daylight robbery . I purchased a haddock and chips and was disgusted at the price for this,the fish was nothing special and the portion size of the chips scandalous, if I was not wet and hungry I would have told the girl to take it back and get my money back and go round corner to tesco and buy a sandwich . If you can avoid this place please dose regardless of its feedback . People should not be getting ripped of they way they do it ,but that's just my opinion

Very disappointed tonight and last few visits. Dyce chip shop for me has gone downhill. Chips tasted horrible, i threw them in the bin, think its the oil, also looked like yesterdays, re-heated. Same on previous visits and the fish was tasteless, small. It used to be excellent but not anymore.

Awful customer service and even worse fish supper. There’s no point spending on a ‘large’ as it’s the same size as their already very small standard.

Went for my diner as hotel was not a option . I ordered haddock and chips .the fish was standard size but I would say for the price it was very small and the portion of chips was embarrassing. Just the smallest amount you could get in the box. I would say its massively overpriced for what you get. Would not go out of my way to go again

If tonight’s fish had been any smaller I could have called it a fish finger. Very disappointing. I don’t need a hundred characters to describe this

Dont go here at 4pm on a Friday your likely to get reheated chips from lunchtime or the chips will gobin the bin staff need to be aware customers will not accept this this is a reason so many reviews are poor and customers will not come back.

I discovered Sea Salt and Sole via the “find me gluten free” app. As we have only just moved to the Aberdeen area & being a coeliac who has not had decent fish & chips from a chip shop in years I was keen to give it a go. The fish and chips are cooked separately and come in a box with a gluten free sticker on. I am always very careful when eating out or getting a take away, but this was delicious. The batter was very crispy and the fish was really fresh. Sea Salt and Sole is obviously very popular locally as there was quite a queue & my fish was cooked while I waited. Give it a go, I can reccommend it.

So disappointed, we ordered from the Dyce branch. When this chipper first opened it was the best chipper around and was always out the door busy. The last two times we've ordered and it has went really downhill. Partner had the burger which was stone cold. The chips were like day two chips just reheated and my fish was soggy and luke warm. The good thing about this chipper is that it was freshly cooked to order when I went in to collect tonight it was sitting under a small hot plate at the back of the shop that didn't even look it was keeping anything warm. So so disappointed with this and won't be returning and by the looks of how busy it is others are following suit. I've heard the owner concentrates more on his Cove shop now and Dyce has just been left to go downhill which is a shame as that's where he started. Won't be returning again.

This visit to the chippy to order and collect resulted in gravy poured over chips instead of curry sauce which was ordered and paid for. The receipt states curry sauce as well! Maybe some training is in order to identify the difference between gravy and curry sauce. The three customers before me also had some problem with their chippy i.e. wrong order or missing items! Will consider going to another chippy next time.

Our favourite chipper but we ordered from the bridge of don branch and it was just a bit subpar. My chicken was pretty greasy and didn’t taste fresh like it had been cooked a while ago and left that horrible oil taste in my mouth which it never usually does, the chips were soggy and there was a weirdly small portion from what we’re usually used to from SSS. Was very disappointing, hoping they take the criticism as we still like it but will probably sticking to the Dyce branch, never disappointed.

Ordered large haddock supper. Fish was standard size and was really over cooked, disappointing as you expect a premium product for premium prices.

Chippy was busy as usual, seemed a bit chaotic to be honest. When my order was called it was already half made up. I assumed the order was complete. When I got back to the office, on unloading i discovered the pickled egg i paid for was not there! Disappointed.

Had a supper fish was nice chips were certainly not cooked fresh most went in the bin very disappointed considering the price l paid they need to provide fresh chips not reheats.

Ordered Haggis Supper , chicken fillet supper and jumbo haddock supper although received Jumbo sausage supper instead of haddock. The person taking the order repeated it back to me giving me the belief it would be correct - wrong. After realising order was wrong when home, called them to inform and asked for the correct order to be delivered. I was informed this would not happen but I could return and swap which I did although questionable if I received a jumbo haddock? Very dissatisfied with the service and unwillingness to accept responsibility. Not sure I will use again. Please request a receipt when paying so you can check your order.

Such a good chipper. Of course they do all the items you’d expect at a chipper but seem to do much more that looks amazing and not your average eg burgers, different pies. The black and white puddings are excellent. I’d be here often if I lived nearby!

A brilliant takeaway of beautiful Fish and Chips. The fish and chips were hot, fresh with minimal residual fat, tasting fabulous. The fish supper had two pieces, one of which was approximately 9” long, almost 3/4” thick of white fish. Excellent value for money.
