Went in here for the first time. Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday they do a special price for everyone of £5:50 for fish,chips and a small carton of peas or curry sauce. And it was lovely, all freshly cooked. Don't go past go in and try for yourself. Paul x

The worst chips and sausage ever had...so greasy and a plastic type sausage. Both daughter and mother had aftertaste left in mouth with sickness and upset stomach.

Absolutely brilliant fish and chips, we've heard about the shop from other boaters so we came all the way down the trent and we were not disappointed, Absolutely brilliant and staff are so lovely with a lovely smile when you walk through the door 😀

Great chippy....excellent fish and chips.

Chips were so greasy that I had to throw them away. New potatoes were being fried but the tray was swimming in grease. Will not be returning.

A bit hit or miss with the portion sizes sometimes loads of chips and other times half a portion..not going to rush back.

Don't waste your money, had large cod and chips last night from here. The chips were greasy and the fish was poor quality with way too much batter. There must be better options in the locality.

This is a fantastic chippy, I'd say it's better then most fish and chip shops in Lincoln. It is worth the trip.

Used them several times when passing through. Just excellent all round. Call in you won't be disapointed.

I come here nearly every week to get the 'special'....fish, chips and peas for a fiver (Tues, Wed and Thursday) Never had a bad meal, good sized portion. Staff are all very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended

Best fish and chips in England, fish is fresh and soft and is crunchy. Chips are authentic and delicious. Portions are very generous, and wont leave you hungry. I crave their food at least once a week.

Super tasty and good size. Opted for small fish and chips and this was plenty big enough for one person. Good service. Cash or card payments. On Street parking close by.

Had lovely fish and chips from here on Saturday. Huge portions and really well cooked. Staff were lovely and really friendly - such a shame we were only passing through Saxilby for a couple of days!

Now before I start this review I will say that the quality of the food is exceptional, the service, or at least the speed of it, leaves a lot to be desired, visited this evening during a busy period and whilst there were 6 people behind the counter only 1 was actually serving customers, 1 young lad was basically just asking if customers wanted salt and vinegar while another was simply taking the money then standing around waiting while the order was completed before the server took the next, great food but probably best to avoid at busy times

A traditional chippy for take away food. No queue when we arrived. Ordered the jumbo haddock and was warned there was a wait, as it was cooked to order. No problem with that and it was only 10 minutes or so. The fish was huge and perfectly cooked with thin, crispy batter. Ordered 2 small portions of chips to go with our haddock, but honestly, one portion was big enough for the two of us. Great food - succulent fish, tasty chips and friendly staff. I couldn't ask for more from a chippy supper!

Lovely staff, 90% of the food is brilliant. Quick service and fairly priced. Only downside is I find the chips to be too greasy and they leave skin on for the fish however nothing would stop be from coming back again.

This is the best chippy for miles. Big portions of freshly cooked excellent fish and chips. Well worth a visit if you're looking for quality food and friendly service.

Everything was really greasy, I felt like I was going to have a instant heart attack. Not the best chippy but not the worst.

Excellent fish, chips were ok for me ,but everyone has their own idea about how chips should be ! A typical F&C takeaway, they don't come any better. I'm reluctant to spread the word as it may make it too busy.

1st time using Saxilby fish and chips and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. The food was really tasty, big portions and very reasonably priced. The battered sausages were really nice they weren’t your usual cheap sausages they had spices in them. The only critique was I ordered a large curry sauce and didn’t think the pots were big enough but it certainly didn’t ruin what was a delicious meal.

Decided to go there for dinner phoned them up to place order when got there never seen that shape fish before I asked for 1 to be well done bit had both well done a small piece of fish and a large piece of fish when we got home started to eat it the large one which we didn't want over cooked had a fair bit of fish in but over cooked but small was a disgrace it was just a lump of batter which we phoned up about and the woman said who answered the phone said it shrinks when over cooked it only had a measley amount of fish inside about two tea spoon falls if that they have lost our custom because of it

Had fish and chips tonight and they were disgusting. Most of the chips thrown away - like little soggy oil sponges. The dog didn’t even get them, that’s how bad. The fish meat was well cooked, but oil soaked batter. I can still get taste the oil in my lips.

Disappointing had to queue for some time, so you think it must be good, but very disappointing, chips were soggy more like boiled chips, rather than fried chips, battered sausage was soggy managed to eat the sausage eat just, but threw the chips away. Don't waste time or money going there.

Been to Saxilby fish and chips for the last couple of weeks and the consistency and quality is very good the fish is cooked perfectly and the batter crispy and all freshly cooked and hot,do not live in Saxilby but always worth a visit especially for the fish and chips

If you want really good fish and chips , while you're at Saxilby. This is the place to go. So good that the cue is about 10 customers long . .....it's also the only chippy in the village.

I ordered fish and chips and they were really delicious, I will definitely go back if I'm in the area. The customer service was great and everyone was really friendly. When I ordered my fish I didn't realise they were closing but they offered to cook it fresh for me even though they were closing in 5 minutes.

All good but a very small waiting area such that at busy times there's no room inside to wait for your order to be cooked. Not much fun if it's raining!!

We looked for a chippy on Google & found this place. Not too far from where we were staying for a couple of nights. Some of the reviews were bad so we almost didn't go but...we wanted to decide for ourselves. Very pleased we did! Fish and chips twice with scraps! All very good, tasty, hot and plenty of it. Staff were lovely and polite. No complaints here. Definitely worth a trip.

Would of given a 5star but when you have to chuck half the fish away cos of the batter being burnt and the fish dry inside then it doesnt deserve a 5star. Weve been here twice before and had no problems. Wont be coming back. Sorry

Large Fish, chips and curry sauce x 2, was OK, chips where a tad pale for our liking and to say that the shop had only been open 15 minutes prior to our arrival where not the hottest meal we have had. Not an unpleasant experience though and would definitely use again and recommend to others.

Simply the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. The chips looked pale, but I guess because they're frying new potatoes. They tasted great, the fish was crispy and went down very well.

Just had a delicious plate of haddock and chips, plus my partner, from Saxilby Fish & Chips. Only have it occasionally as trying to look after my waistline! Always good. Moving to Lincoln area shortly but, if we fancy fish and chips, will drive the 7 miles to Saxilby!

So today I launched my new food review name I was going to go with Google food reviews but it wouldn't let me instead of using my email address for my personal account or my business account. So I visited this chip shop today while working in the area and yesterday I reviewed the different chip shop at Hunstanton in Norfolk that I had visited while working in that area that only got a one star review due to the shocking rip-off that I was charged. Well this chip shop is totally different from arriving on site the smell of the cooking chips and batter was fantastic I went inside and there was a young girl serving and a man on the till. I asked to see how big are regular chips was and decided I would like a large chips and I don't know why I chose two large battered sausages naughty me the chips are a very decent portion size for the price. One thing I wasn't asked and I didn't think about it was that they are not plane sausages they probably had some but I was just given to sausages that tastes like sage and onion stuffing which was nice as I had a similar one before whilst travelling back from Mablethorpe which was very spicy and very greasy. This was not as I wrapped a napkin around it and squeezed it and a low amount of oil came out of the batter and sausage. The chips were fantastic compared to yesterday's hard greasy potatoes but they could have done with just maybe 3 to 4 minutes cooking extra as they were lightly Brown but not quite as soft in the middle. All in all if I was to visit the area again around lunchtime I would be back hear.😊

Very good F&C and the Tue to Thu lunch offer of small fish and chips with a side is great price. Only issue ( and it's not their fault) is parking nearby, can be a bit of a free for all during busy periods in the village. Returned to village after 2 years away working. First action was get FCS, was as good as ever!!!!

Visiting the area and popped in for a take away chippy tea. Social distancing and queueing outside and masks to be warn on entering the shop. Generous portions nicely prepared. Hot and filling. Recommended.
