Our waitress Rebecca was outstanding in every respect. Knowledgeable and charming, but not intrusive. We had a really delicious and beautiful a la carte lunch. A delightful early afternoon in welcoming surroundings. It was so good to return after just over a year to find the standards were just as professional. Highly recommended."

Great quality food, and a very affordable price. Highlights were the steak Tatar and the truffle and mushroom soup The decor was beautiful. And the service was fast and friendly.

We went last night to celebrate two birthdays. My friends had been before and recommended it to me . It was a fantastic experience from James on the bar to the whole team on the floor, nothing was too much trouble. Great food and a wonderful atmosphere.

The restaurant is in a lovely setting by the river and has a really nice atmosphere. The food was fine but not outstanding. The service was absolutely terrible and more or less ruined the evening. Many dishes were missing and we had to continuously ask and remind the waiter about orders which became rather stressful as it happened at every course. Would not return or recommend.

Fui a almorzar a mitad de semana. El personal era amable y el servicio era rápido. La decoración era preciosa y la vista sobre el Támesis es probablemente genial en un día soleado. Tenía poco tiempo así que pedí una hamburguesa con patatas fritas. Vaya. Soy el primero en decir que las papas fritas son papas fritas, pero estaban muy buenas, sazonadas perfectamente y probablemente cocinadas en grasa de ternera. La hamburguesa en sí era excelente - grande, muy sabroso y cocinado perfectamente con una salsa de mostaza tipo mayo muy agradable que no lo superó. En un bollo muy suave y fresco. Dado que pedí una comida que quería rápido y que ningún restaurante realmente debería joder demasiado, me quedé excepcionalmente impresionado con el sabor.

Super impresionado con el personal del bar donde cenamos. El servicio era rápido y sereno en el hermoso ambiente nocturno que tienen. Mi hermano estaba de visita desde Ghana y estaba tan impresionado por mi elección del lugar. ¡Gracias a todos!

Great little spot, food is good and good portions, it took about 35 min to come but once we got it it was great! Great atmosphere and most of the team were polite and helpful

We had a lovely evening at Sam's Riverside. The excellent fish dishes turned our visit into an amazing culinary experience. Staff was great - friendly, attentive and at no point intrusive, well done! Wish we'd gone there sooner, but now in a top spot of our 'Food gems' list. Until next time!

Amazing food and great service as well. I have had the duck croquets, grilled octopus and the lamb dish. All were fantastic!

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the friendly and accommodating front of house. All the staff seemed to support each other as it got busy. We were made to feel particularly welcome on what was our first visit. The food was excellent.

We ordered a variety of starters and they all tasted great. The sourdough and Parm churros can be skipped. Mains were a bit disappointing. Haddock souffle was too heavy and there was nothing special about the steak. All the portions were a bit on the smaller side. The staff and service was amazing. The restaurant itself was a bit dim and loud.

Not sure if people’s tongues lack taste but the food here is so bland it really left a bad taste in the mouth. Have the chefs at this restaurant not heard of seasoning or spice, the food is uninspired, pretentious, and dull as dishwater. The lamb rump, served pink was tasteless, the red win jus and mint sauce was bland the vegetables bitter. The burrata was a lump of cheese with some celebrity around it. The side of chips ordered was also heavily salted to the point of insanity. Very poor, typical British “food”, and the price is absurd.

From clearing my catastrophic wine spill and quickly furnishing us with a replacement entree, to spot on timing with expediting and delivery to table, to candid advice and suggestions when it came to menu selections, we were so thrilled. We live locally and come often and just love the Parmesan Churros and the cocktail The service is always excellent and the food fabulous. Last night we had the raviolis which were absolutely epic!

We had a great late lunch here (very late we were delayed and arrived moments before the kitchen was due to close on a miserable rainy afternoon). The food was delicious, the service friendly and attentive. Considering how late we were it's a real credit that they managed to squeeze us in still so a big thanks to the team for that it was worth it!

Our 2nd time here and the whole experience was fantastic and the oysters are the finest I've had in London

The Burger and fries was delicious but the soufflé was simply sublime ❤️

Lovely food in a pleasant environment: a great evening out

Not as great as it used to be which is a shame, we used to love coming here but over time the food and the service has gone down to where I unfortunately can't justify the cost for what you get out of it. We went again yesterday and it may be our last time.

Great place to eat and drink either at the bar or in the dining room. Service was excellent, great staff. Food was well cooked and presented.

My favourite place to go for a Sunday pork roast. Delicious good wine from Portugal - Loureiro - the team is very friendly. Our Newfie is always welcome.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Sam’s and we made the perfect decision. We saw it before when we were around this side of the Thames. The food was amazing and we felt like we were ready to explode at the end. The drinks were good and they have a really wide array of wine selection and they helped us in matching the perfect bottle for our meal. To top the experience, their level of service and attention to their clients make them stand out from other restaurants. We’ll definitely come back to try their other selection.

Had lunch for 8 to celebrate a birthday. Everything was spot on. Great service - attentive not fussy . Great food. We all had different things and everyone agreed theirs was delicious. We had a semi private room which was very nice but has a glass wall that gave a great view but made sound quality a bit tinny. Not cheap but price justified by quality. Highly recommended.

Top service, menu of classics with a twist and fresh seasonal ingredients and nice atmosphere - cannot go wrong with Sam’s for a weekend brunch. And the Sunday roast is worth it

Beautiful elegant vibrant venue by the river side. We shared pork tomahawk and a carafe of Malbec to go with the meat. The cheese sticks were perfect. Highly recommended

Very nice restaurant, along the riverside (which is very nice), with both inside and outside space. The staff was friendly and the service was perfect, nice atmosphere. I was here for lunch with my husband and we ate at a nice table near the window, with a view of the river. I had oysters (which were really delicious!! ) and the Cornish Hake (which was nothing short of amazing!!). Great wine. One of my favourite!

Always a delight to go to Sams. Charming staff on arrival and staff charming and efficient throughout Very good menu and excellent drinks. The whole place has a buzzy atmosphere. It is a happy place to go with a great variety of ages all enjoying themselves. Always a great pleasure to be there.

Had the two vegetarian mains on the menu and they were exceptional. The crème brûlée was also amazing. Very friendly and efficient service too. Overall a wonderful experience.

Was my first time coming here as i was on a walk, i was greeted as soon as i came in and was served by Alex and James. very good service and quite prompt on making sure customers were happy and satisfied. I also noticed them taking care of all customers on the bar and spoke to everyone very nicely. would definitely recommend to come here and try the drinks. starters were amazing! would definitely visit here again with friends thank you very much.

What a lovely restaurant by the riverside. Greeting by the manager All staff were professional, cheerful and on the ball. We were not rushed at all. I had the mussels for starter, Plaice for main with green beans and a dark chocolate dessert. Everything was tasty so compliments to the chef, I was completely full. Will definitely return.

I chose Sam’s to celebrate my birthday and it was a wonderful decision. Lucia was serving us and she was fabulous, she really made the experience extra special. The food was also tasty and beautifully presented. I will be visiting again soon for sure!

Watch out for the sea food! Not only was it not fantastic (we ate around half as the taste was off), I was also up all night being sick. Service however was excellent.

Booked a table with a view for after seeing Shrek the musical at Eventim Apollo. The staff were so amazing at ensuring the experience for my 5 year old daughter and 7 year old nephew was special and they loved being treated like little grown ups. My nephew is still talking about how the server asked if he could ‘clear your plate for you sir’- calling him sir made both kids feel like they were being treated like adults. Extra care was taken to keep my nephew’s meal nut free. All the food was delicious and beautifully presented. It was exactly the experience we had hoped for for our special occasion.

We went to Sam's Riverside for my husband's birthday lunch. It was a great experience from making the reservartion right through to the meal itself. The team at Sam's Riverside are very welcoming and friendly. We were running late because of issues with the trains. I rang to say we'd be late and were told 'no problem and don't worry - we'll see you when you get here!' The food is absolutely amazing and they accomodated my coeliac disease brilliantly! Many of the desserts are gluten free anyway and they were able to adapt other dishes. There is a delightfully informal and fun atmosphere, but the team are professional and know their stuff! The other thing that shone through was that Sam's seems a very happy place to work. The team gelled really well and you could sense the camaraderie between them - a happy and smiley bunch! Well done to everyone at Sam's Riverside for making our lunch such a lovely treat! We will definitley be coming back and would recommend to others.

excellent meal last night, nothing at all to complain about, I had the most delicious lamb with different vegetable and started with parmesan churitos a must try.

First time visit and super impressed with the quality of the venue and food. We had the prawns in peanut sauce and both of us went yum!

Booked Sam’s for a special celebration lunch and it didn’t disappoint. The ambience, food and service was great, only shame the bacon rashers in the Caesar salad were nearly burnt and rock hard.

Book your table without hesitation. You won't regret it. Everything was great and spot on. It was our first visit and definitely there will be many more. Food was divine, tuna tataki is a must-try dish! If you are a food enthusiast, then dont skip this place. Impeccable service, the team's attitude was friendly and professional. See you soon!

I got here just before the dinner rush, on a late Saturday afternoon. The receptionist was kind enough to accommodate me at a window table, even though I was alone and they would have been quite busy soon (rare sunny day in London - everyone looking for "al-fresco" dining). Service was professional, with just the right amount of cheekiness to make one feel 'at home'. The Plaice was delicious, though slightly overshadowed by the scrumptious French Beans with Confit Shallots. The beautifully caramelised Orange Crème Brûle provided the perfect end to my meal. As a dessert purist, I was a little worried the citrus would be overpowering, but I could barely taste it. Unexpected and pleasant discovery, I will be back. I believe it'd make a great first/second date spot.

Fantastic bar team, great margaritas!Seafood platter is okay, we were not fans of whelks and clams( sandy), langoustines and prawns were good, mussels( a bit sandy), oysters were fantastic, we even ordered more!!!Tuna tataki was a favourite dish! Lovely location, great food. Service failed to match the food. Had to ask on multiple occasions for order to be taken. Lovely warm evening, glass doors were open and very pleasant . 9.30 or 10 pm the glass doors were closed due to the license restrictions. Very hot inside the full restaurant. Had to request AC on multiple occasions. There is a packed restaurant and, we see a member of staff cleaning the windows outside with a long handled broom . One does not expect this of a restaurant of Sam’s calibre. Embarrassing and disappointing.

Fabulous as usual. We were particularly pleased to.get a table outside and were through by yhe time that section had to close. The parmesan churros remain a gift from the gods.

Lovely Sunday lunch and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Very convenient for Riverside Studios next door. Highly recommend a visit.

Amazing fresh seafood and tasty starters/small plates. We went for our wedding anniversary and they gave us an ice cream to celebrate. Very attentive staff and good location near the river. I advise to book well in advance.

Consistently good and interesting food from this well run restaurant in a lovely riverside location. We keep coming back.

Good food, and the small plates particularly appealing. Service friendly if a little slow. Our biggest issue was the level of noise - it was rammed and the acoustics are not good - i found it quite wearing not to be able to talk freely across the table. I don't think I'd return for this reason - sadly an occupational hazard of getting older.

Fab service, food and wine. We had the roasted aubergine, ravioli and grain salad. All looked and tasted wonderful. Great service. Can't wait to come back.

interesting and successful new approaches to some traditional fare. The parmesan churros and falafel with almond puree are a few examples. The seed salad was beautifully presented with edible flowers and very tasty. A good varied choice of dish size from small sharing plates to full size main courses. Excellent wine list too.

Next door( in fact, they are connected) to the Riverside Studios. Beautiful restaurant with a light, airy, almost alfresco feel to it. There are a handful of outside tables, if the weather suits. We were seated with views of the river Thames. We had Sunday lunch. My partner had a perfectly cooked pork belly that was melt in the mouth and some great crackling. The homemade rustic apple sauce was superb. I opted for the sirloin beef Sunday roast. Medium rare and tender but only two slices. Could do with a bit more imho. Both roasts, had roast carrot, cabbage and amazing roast potatoes. It was expensive but great quality and we had the most amazing cauliflower cheese included. Lager available in 2/3 pint sizes. A carafe of Syrah was ok and reasonably priced Highly recommended.

For me the stand out aspect of the meal was the service. We were made to feel very welcome by all members of staff; it was like they were really happy we were there.!The host found a table by the window with a smile and minimal fuss, the bartender was very agreeable. We were smiled at several times by the serving staff, esp the two young women who were on duty. Thank you.

Excellent...Will be back to try the rest of the menu.
