Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch in Sam Thai, service outstanding and all the food was well presented & delicious. We opted for the set lunch, which was 2 starters and a main for £15.95 and a pot of Jasmine tea. Will definitely call in again next time we visit Southport. Thank You!

First visit to this restaurant, what an amazing surprise! The food is totally authentic, quite exceptional - service exemplary, ambience just right. This is an absolute gem in Southport, very highly recommended and will certainly be returning many times!

I've not been as yet, so I decided to try here for a spot off lunch. The location was great as the centre of town, so easy walking distance with all the shops. I ordered the set menu, which was 2 starters and a main for £16.95 I had Chicken Satay and the Spring Rolls and then the Chicken Pad Thai for my main. It was all delicious, nice, and pipping hot. I would definitely go again.

We ordered a takeaway from Sam Thai last night for the first time and I had to write a review as it was absolutely beautiful. Our order arrived promptly, hot, and was simply devine, every meal we had was delicious. I'm now planning a reservation in the restaurant to enjoy a night out with great food. If you love Thai food then I highly recommend. We will definitely be ordering from here again and I can't wait to visit the restaurant.

First time ever in Southport... what a gem of a restaurant. Superb restaurant with fabulous lighting and ambience. Served with a smile by Jan, excellent quality of food made by Sam (my favourite Pad Thai Noodles) and crunchy Prawn tempura. First visit, not my last.

Wow were do I start .in Southport for a little break away. Found Sam Thai while having look around the town. Was reading the menu and we saw the food being taken to a table .it look beautiful presented . We called and was given a seat near the window by a lovely young man called George I belive. Myself had tom yum soup followed by beef masaman the flavours were amazing x my partern had this fish cakes followed by seabass it a sweet chill sauce with steam veg I was jealous off his choice x he said beautiful and not over favoured as he could still taste fish .had nice bottle of wine to go with it . I think lady was called janey she was very polite we were not rushed at anytime while were there. Big thank for your service will recommend if any body we know is coming to Southport xx

Arrived late for lunch but they welcomed us in and said they were more than happy to accommodate us. Service was amazing, polite and courteous. We had one gluten free and one vegan and could accommodate us both. Food was amazing, portions were a good size. Would definitely recommend and will be going back 👌

I don’t really like putting bad reviews on public forums, but seeing that the food at this restaurant was so bad, I’m not going to keep quiet. We had a terrible meal, this was the most bland thai food we have ever eaten. One of the most important ingredients in Thai food is fish sauce. You cannot make a thai curry or stir fry without it. Our meals were totally lacking in it. I don’t even think there must be a bottle in the restaurant. Starters were bland, the pork was bland, there was no flavour apart from pork. The satay sauce tasted like it had come out of a supermarket bottle and bernwatered down. My husbands salt and pepper ribs were flavourless. My main meal lacked garlic, fish sauce and must have had a maximum of two basil leaves in. The liquid was pale and watery. My husbands paneng curry lacked garlic, fish sauce, ginger, lime and basil. He ate his meal as he was really hungry, and said it was underwhelming. I taste it and it tasted like sweet coconut with chicken in The serving staff ask how our food was and didn’t comment when they went to clear my full uneaten meal. I had to tell the waitress that I hadn’t eaten it because it was horrible. We asked for the bill, and it was brought to us without question. The owner didn’t come over to find out what was wrong with the food. I went over to her to tell her that it was awful and that I wasn’t paying for my meal and still she didn’t want feed back about what was wrong with it. I deducted £10 and she told me she had new staff. She tried to give me 10% discount on our next meal which i declined as I would obviously never go back. Avoid, avoid avoid.

Today I visited Southport and fancied some Thai food so I put my trust into Sam Thai. My soup arrived in a small bowl, only filled half way raw mushrooms and baby tomatoes floating on top. Other plate on the side had rotten salad leaves from pre-packaged bag. Carrot shreds were old n dried up. When asking the waitress why she has brought me rotten salad pieces she calmly replied that it is for decoration only and I don't need to eat it while walking away despite me wanting it off my table.😐 Not going there again.

First time here as we have our favourites in Southport but thought we would try something different. Love Thai although don't have one locally. We were passing during the day hence called in to take a look and confirm our booking. Nice touch as asked Sam if we could have a table in the window and sure enough that was reserved for us later. Menu was nice and varied with something for all hence shared our starters and mains which were all good. Drinks and wine list is not extensive but fine apart from the draft Singha was no longer available. Worthy of note however were the staff who were all very attentive and helpful and made us feel very welcome with our ten year old. Service was good even though there was a large birthday party upstairs. Could well be that this will become one of our go to places in Southport!

Following trip advisor reviews had to try this restaurant having tried another nearby Thai restaurant that is excellent. Well Sam Thai proved excellent in terms of quality of food, taste, portion size and ambience. Beers ice cold and good service. 6 of us all with different starters and mains. Too full for Desserts but those that did loved it. Well recommended and will return soon.

We hadn't booked, but the friendly waitress was happy to fit us in, unlike Prezzo down the road which was pretty empty, but hey. Their loss and Sam Thai's gain. I had the drunken noodle, which was really tasty. Spicy but not too much. Other meals were tasty too. Reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

Went with a family off 4 ! Great little restaurant everyone was really happy with started and main meals quality Thai food and even the tiger. Beers were freezing cold always a bonus will definitely go again highly recommend👍🏻

We have visited in person and not been disappointed. However the takeaway we ordered was poor and small portions. Wouldn't order again.

Had a mocktail and a Pad Thai with duck… it was the second time here and it was everything I was looking for. Really delicious and tasty. Would totally recommend it!!

Got there late after the show, it didn’t matter they still served us, tasty food, both had different meals, both gluten free, well catered for us

We chose the set lunchtime menu @ £15.95. Any two starters from a choice of ten. Between the four of us we had prawn toast, chicken satay, spare ribs, a vegetable pancake with a dipping sauce and a wonderful (very hot/spicy ) chicken soup. Main course had a choice of ten. A lovely hot green curry, a prawn noodle dish, sweet and sour chicken and beef in oyster sauce. Plenty to eat and all perfectly prepared. New owners eight months ago. Extremely friendly. Definitely will visit again

We all chose from the lunchtime set menu and it was wonderful. Very good value, excellent food and a good selection. We had a range of dishes and none of us were disappointed. All four of us are very happy to recommend this restaurant and as the chef and owner are relatively new (took over 5.5 months ago) give it another try if you’ve been a while back. It’s worth it. We’ll be back.

EAT-IN REVIEW: Sam Thai Restaurant, Lord St, Southport town centre (near The Monument). My first visit. I was impressed and reassured by the warm greeting and delightful service at this attractive venue. I had Sam Spicy Fried Rice with beef (£9.95) which was a generous portion and had a fresh chili kick running throughout. This spicy dish was balanced with a creamy and smooth Sam Thai Crispy Noodle Curry with chicken (£9.50) This is Sam's version of the legendary northern Thai dish of Khao Soi (if you know, you know!) Soft noodles at the base, and crispy noodles on top of creamy coconut sauce. Mmmmm. The quality and leaness of the meat on both these dishes was impressive and made me feel I was getting excellent value for money. My dining companion had a King Prawn Massamun Curry (£9.95) and gave it a massive thumbs up. It's always nice to accompany a Thai meal with a pint of draft Singha beer. (£5.95) Highly recommended for a tasty Thai treat when you are in Southport town centre. If only I was staring out onto Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, rather than Lord Street! Pro tip: Sam came out to speak to us after the meal and explained he could cook almost any Thai dish, so if you don't see what you want on the menu, just ask!

I'd never been to a Thai restaurant before enjoyed my meal it was excellent. The staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble. My friends and I enjoyed it so much we went back again on the Sunday for lunch highly recommended

This Thai Restaurant serves the best Thai food we have ever eaten. The quality is second to none. Added to that the service is excellent and the owner goes out of her way to ensure everything is top notch. This restaurant is highly recommended.
