Have eaten in and had take away several times ( Kelso) staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic. Have tried lots on the menu and it’s all been great. Only thing is they do not accept tips on the card/digital payment methods - so take some cash with you!

Came here for a quick dinner and had very quick service and order the burgers. They came out very quick and was one of the tastiest food i have ever eaten. The burgers were very yummy and saucy with lots of flavour and taste. Furthermore the staff were very friendly and overall we enjoyed our visit. Thank you.

Lovely meal last night, Vytas went above and beyond 'with a variety of absolutely delicious and inventive dishes. I am a vegetarian and I haven't had this quality of a meal in a very long time. The shredded veg. salad, the veg. wantons, the roasted cauliflower and falafel wrap were superb! Also, service was excellent, Lucy served the best cocktails, my friends and I had a terrific time, and woke up with no hangover this morning, just super happy with the memory of a great evening. Thank you Vytas and Lucy for being so thoughtful. We are looking forward to doing this again soon!

Great food, great value and great service from Lucy. Didn't get her colleagues names but they were equally as attentive, friendly and professional. Huge compliments to the chef. We were there on a quiet night but still, the atmosphere was still enjoyable and engaging.

Ordered food 1 hour in advance. Still had to wait for 20min. Staff weren't apologetic or talkative at all. Food was also incorrect. Everyone that came in was told to wait 5min and the food would be ready. They were running way behind and should have just been honest and upfront.

Absolutely blown away by the food we had tonight! Extremely tasty and great quality ingredients. Obviously made by someone that cares. Staff were super attentive and welcoming. A rare find these days. Highly recommend.

Foods good but the level of salt is a bit alarming , yes salt n fire , however there's a guidine to be followed I ordered a meal today cannot eat it as its been salted for a family of 20 . Used to also say " safe for a coeliac" alarming that it's now "gluten intolerant"

Phenomenal food everytime! I get a beef burger (fully loaded 😋) and not only have I never been disappointed, but always stunned by the quality. Fries are the best in town by a country mile and that's without even an upgrade. The upgrades though? To die for! Had the new TNT fries last night and they really blew me away!! 10/10, nowhere better for good mood food in Kelso

Popped in having been let down by a restaurant. The girls were lovely, good food. Wine perfect temperature.

We had a dinner here. The service was lovely, the ladies who served us were attentive and super nice. The food was not tasty - my burger was soggy! The lettuce was slimy. The music was awful with some songs speaking of sexual endeavours, not appropriate for a family meal.

Tried this place for the 1st time at the weekend and we were not disappointed. Food was amazing and staff great

We had dinner in Kelso tonight on a whim, without reservation. Everything was full but Salt & Fire were able to seat us. The food was soo good! The burgers are fantastic and the wanton were delicious. Staff was very friendly. Would recommend !!

Just to say that my review was for Lemon and Thyme. I've heard that the restaurant has either changed owners, or has a new chef and I've not been since it because Salt'n'Fire. I hope it is still as good as it was. Want to have a really enjoyable meal? Come here! A menu that’s has enough choice, but isn’t overwhelming. A menu where you still have trouble choosing because it all sounds good ... and it turns out that it looks and tastes excellent. Front of house are friendly, amusing and attentive. If you live in the Borders or are just visiting, then pay Lemon and Thyme a visit. In my view this is the best restaurant in the Borders. We were back and I thought I should update the review? Was it as good as I remembered? Oh yes! Ryan looked after us front of house Not sure what to have because you like the look of everything on the menu, or what to pair with your meal? Ryan is there to help and knows his food and drink. The kitchen was producing consistent, high quality food, even though it was a busy night and I think the restaurant may have been full. We'll be back next month :-)

Unorganised, unapologetic and unappealing. Over a 20 minute delay which could’ve been forgiven had the food been exceptional. Unfortunately expensive and sad looking food was produced, greasy burger, greasy pulled pork and portion sizes are abysmal for the price charged. F- Must do better

Food is good, but have some 'interesting' takes as to what their 'closed' time is... called up at 9.30 even though they close at 10 and they said the kitchen stops at 9? Very confusing. Management is a bit all over the place as far as I can see. Poor.

Had an absolute rare laugh tonight. Staff were very friendly and humorous! Couldn’t see a drink licence in sight and they didn’t seem to know where the personal license holder was but all the same had a great time. Food was absolutely delicious, I would definitely recommend!

Look, this place deserves a 5 star review. The food is fantastic and at a good price for a top quality menu. Waitress Rebecca was brilliant. The only drawback is logistical: half the starters menu not available, ingredients missing from the mains, running out of house wine ... A restaurant pitching itself at this class shouldn't be sending a nice waitress out to apologise for stuff like this. But the food was great so we'll all go back. Teething problems I hope.

We ate here twice during our stay in Kelso. The food was absolutely amazing and challenged the traditional take on familiar ingredients! Superb and very warm and friendly atmosphere.

Only one other couple there the night we dined so rather lacking in warmth and atmosphere. The lady who served us was very helpful and friendly. Main course venison was superb, can't praise it highly enough. Sadly neither of our desserts were to our taste and that was a shame.

We are so lucky to have such an amazing fine dining experience here in Kelso. Piotr uses local, seasonal produce and regularly changes his creative menus to delight his customers. Tonight did not disappoint - Kelso Venison so tender and beautifully presented and the peanut butter creme brulé delicious. Honestly you will go a long way to find better. Bravo Lemon & Thyme 😋

We dined at Lemon and Thyme last evening 30th Oct and introduced two friends who have never dined here. The food was superb, tasty, succulent and we loved the spices. Friendly and efficient service and relaxing atmosphere.Pietre is doing a super job and the extended menus are attracting a great deal of admiration. Our friends are enthusiastic foodies and were very impressed with their meal and will be back again soon to enjoy more of Pietre's delights. As will we. Well done Lemon and Thyme you are up there with the best.

Managed to get on before the crowds. A very interesting small but diverse menu, I had the mussels starter which was amazing. Then the duck breast which was the best I've had. Great service and value.

Very good food. Really inventive menu and the chef was hugely accommodating in making a great kids meal. A change from the usual pub fare in Kelso and excellent drinks choice too.

Food was excellent, service a bit erratic. Was hard to get the bill as the two waitresses seemed to be sitting down chatting near the bar. Had to walk over to them and ask for it. The corner we were seated in was very stuffy. But a lovely evening altogether. Would definitely recommend and go back again...

Excellent food and service - a stand out meal. The beef short ribs from the tonight's specials is apparently being promoted to the regular menu, and is fantastic. A great meal after a very wet walk!

The food is outstanding, incredibly flavoursome and well priced. I have to give a shout out to our waitress who was friendly, professional & funny, which really added to our birthday celebration. I would particularly recomend the lime tart for dessert, which is now one of my favourites ever! I will definitly be a returning customer.

Went for an evening meal with a couple of friends and I can only say this place is first class. Cocktails are amazing and the food is another level. Portion size is great and value for money excellent. Would 100% recommend if your in or near Kelso.

We just went for cocktails and they were excellent. We were sat by the lovely bar area and given quick and friendly service by staff. The barman even offered to make us any cocktail we wanted if he had the ingredients. All drinks were amazing and we will definitely be back next time we are in Kelso!

We were very lucky to be squeezed in on a busy evening for a lovely meal. Service was friendly and efficient despite how busy they were. The tortellini starter was delicious, nice and richly cheesy. We also had the rump lamb which was beautifully cooked but could have had more sauce. The nari goreng was very flavoursome and had some nice hot chillis in it. None of the dessert particularly tempted us so we skipped dessert and just had some coffees. Overall a very nice meal.

Fabulous takeaway of high class food. what a shame the restaurant will not have reopened by the time we have to leave Kelso. We'll definitely book if we return.

The food was absolutely outstanding. So much care taken over every detail of the dishes we had. Very friendly staff. The decor need just a little bit of attention- a bit tired. Maybe candles on the tables. But would highly recommend.

This is by far the best restaurant in the Borders. We were staying at the Collingwood Arms in Cornhill-on-Tweed where the food was awful. Finding this place made our holiday. It's Michelin star class.
