Sally Clarke Shop in Kensington and Chelsea

I went to the Kensington Church St shop today to buy food to take home for for dinner. I was there at about 1545 but the selection was already limited. I have had good (very expensive) dishes (meatballs, chicken with apple...) but none available, so bought the chicken satay. Very disappointing and nothing like the real thing. Nice fat chicken chunks on skewers, slightly grilled. Minimal evidence of marinade, tiny apology for peanut sauce, no spiciness. You get the message. Do it right, Sally, or not at all....

The menu is exciting english food changing to respect the seasons. Enormous portions beautifully presented. Friendly service from Paul and teddeo and the patronne herself last Saturday! Different dining rooms create warmth and charm. Good value for money with a range of carafe wines. Happy to arrive and be welcomed and happy to leave after an exceptional evening.

My husband and I popped in whilst visiting the market. Chairs were outdoor style and not comfortable. Coffee was beautiful though so had another and a cake. We shared the heart shaped chocolate covered chocolate sponge and buttercream delight. We can honestly say it was the best cake either of us have eaten and we know our cakes! It was beautiful!! Odd thing tho the cafe only had a staff loo. Nothing for customers!

Was looking forward to trying out Sally Clarke on Westbourne Grove. Great setting and good food. Shame about the matter of fact and disinterested service

Made a much needed caffeine stop here while visiting the area. Coffee was great and the passion fruit tart was DEVINE!! Very nice looking cafe, chairs not that comfortable though inside and we’re more like outside chairs.
