Ruyi Vegetarian House in Manchester

It's so good to be able to visit a restaurant knowing everything is vegan. And delicious!

We ended up here after googling top 10 vegan restaurants in the UK and this was on there! It did not disappoint. The portions were huge with very reasonable prices. The staff were lovely and it seemed like a hub for the community with other patrons visiting for years I don't know how they made their chicken taste so nice (as they don't cook with onions or garlic) but whatever they did they need to continue! We'd definitely make the trip out to visit them again!

I'm a regular online customer at Ruyi Vegetarian House, and it consistently exceeds my expectations. I am vegan, and finding a proper vegetarian or vegan restaurant takes work. Ruyi Vegetarian House is, without a doubt, the best Chinese vegetarian restaurant I've ever experienced. The flavours are extraordinary, the quality of used ingredients is high, and their online ordering process is seamless. I look forward to my weekly orders – a true culinary delight. I wish I could give them more stars.

Super menu, so many vegan options!!! Wonderful tea, food and service. Mostly meat substitutes but something for everyone.

Absolutely delicious food. Everything we ordered was spot on. Friendly staff who make you feel very comfortable and are very helpful. They do have outdoor seating which will be good for wheelchair and pram user's and the have toilets as well. You must try this vegetarian place. I will definitely be returning.

Best vegetarian restaurant in Manchester!

Best food ive had from a restaurant in a long time. Had the vegetable bao buns and the crispy pork needle noodles. So so delicious. Will be going back at every opportunity. All vegan (except some deserts and egg fried rice) and dog friendly.

Very nice food, not expensive but good taste, strongly recommend the stir fried noodle.

I am so glad that dining here that truly exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious, the dishes were carefully crafted, and the overall experience was on par with the best that Hong Kong has to offer.

Wouldn't recommend anyone with dietary requirements to eat here. Really wish I could leave a positive review because for everyone in our party except the guy with strict dietary requirements, it was great, food was tasty and service was really friendly. However the serving staff's knowledge of the allergens in the menu was really poor, and they even told him there was no gluten in one dish and then came back five minutes later after he'd eaten a bunch of it to tell him that actually there was... They also brought his food way later than all of ours and made some comments about it being because they were avoiding cross-contamination, but it meant he had to sit and wait while we were all eating, which I've not seen in places which have much more cautious measures about allergens.

Lovely little place. Very attentive staff. Great prices and such a vast choice which I'm not used to. I had the satay chicken fried rice, thin noodles in soy sauce and spring rolls . Food is very tasty. I didn't much like the chicken in the rice but the rice was lovely. Followed by a pineapple fetter, very nice. I will definitely be back.

Ate here last week. Food was delicious, very well priced for the amount you get and came out very quick. Highly recommend the bao. We sat outside and the gentleman serving us was nice enough to pull the cover out to provide some shade as it was rather sunny.

Stopped by for the first time today, ordered takeout at the restaurant. Was absolutely delicious. Food tasted great, portions were very generous and staff were lovely

My daughter and myself went here yesterday, the waitress was lovely, attentive and very informative. We have been meaning to go for a while and will be returning soon.

They did a great job creating fake meat. The menu has plenty of options and a good selection. We were a family of four and the bill was 52 pound, not bad considering the portions we got. The food was tasty however some dishes I wouldn’t order again. It was a lovely experience and highly recommended if you are vegetarian!

What a Banger! Exceptional Veg/Vegan Western Chinese cuisine. The Dim Sum is gorgeous, the Salt&Pepper "Ribs" where a favourite. They know what they are doing. If I lived in Manchester, I'd be here every week. Thanks for a great lunch, Ruyi!

The best vegan and veggie options, been here twice and both times amazing. Travelled all the way from Stockport to collect as it's that good. Recommend to the vegan folk.

We had dinner here Saturday night and it was the best food we had in the UK so far. The salt and pepper mushrooms were amazing! Would definitely have to come back!

Been here a few times now and it has been excellent every time. The food is delicious, some of the best veggie food I've ever had! Can even take meat eaters and they love it too. The staff are absolutely lovely and attentive but not overly so. When I brought my gran in a wheelchair one time they were so accommodating and nice. I recommend this place to everyone.

We have just eaten here for the 2nd time. This is such a warm welcoming restaurant. The staff are fantastic and nothing is to much trouble for them. The food is amazing, we are a family with both vegetarian and dedicated dedicated carnivorous, and there was something for all of us. We came away with all of us satisfied and happy and very full ☺️☺️. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Great family run place. Its really amazing to be able to enjoy Buddhist vegetarian food in Manchester. Portions are generously sized and lovely friendly staff.

I don’t like to do this, especially to a restaurant that was one of my favourites in the past couple of years but one very bad meal and I’m put off it forever. Peking ribs totally inedible, soggy dim sum and Szechuan beef that was dry and had a burnt taste to it. We managed a few bites and couldn’t continue. And a phone call with them left much to be desired, they told me that there were no complaints tonight so clearly I was wrong for not enjoying the meal. In fairness they asked if we wanted the food replacing, but the last thing I wanted was to waste more. But in the end all they offered was credit, given our experience, that’s not something we’ll be redeeming any time soon.

Lovely food. Only 1 vegetarian option on the menu, the rest are vegan. Would highly recommend the vegetable gyoza. Very friendly staff, would definitely visit again!

The food is always super tasty and the people are always super lovely. From the warm welcome you get yo the door being opened for you on your way out, the people who run this resturant clearly care about your experience. Really delicious food, everyone should try here.

We live abroad and visit manchester regularly and always make sure we come to Ruyi every time. It is our favourite restaurant in THE WORLD... hard to believe it is vegetarian, great value, lovely staff and quick service, massive range of food and very generous portions.

I love this place, I go here at least once a month. Always a good atmosphere and Hanh, always makes us feel welcome, she is always smiling and goes above and beyond to see to your needs. The food is amazing, it is so rare to find such a large selection of vegan food. The portions are large for the price.

Friendly staff and very tasty food

After being let down with an alleged online booking with a fish restaurant a couple of doors away.. We ended up here at Ruyi Vegetarian House a very friendly vegetarian restaurant, The food was excellent and the service even more so! From a disappointing let down elsewhere to fantastic evening and meal. It was worth the long drive in the end. Thank you We will be definitely coming back!

Firstly, i’d like to say the reason for the 3/5 is because of the price of the food. I do not feel that it was good value for money £11.25 for one portion of pineapple fried rice however, the food was good. I would give 5/5 for the cleanliness of the restaurant including the bathroom which was spotless. Overall, the staff were friendly and it is a shame because I would come back again if the portions were bigger or more value.

we had to stop in when we saw a vegetarian-specific Chinese restaurant - we were so blown away!! the food was absolutely incredible - you have to try the crispy “pork” bao buns. i put in a picture of the sampler dim sum platter because the colors were gorgeous. the staff is *incredibly* kind and very attentive. i would come here again and again if we lived in the area!

Oh my gosh.. This is a must try! The steamed dumplings.. Yum! We had Vegetarian alternatives to meat and fish dishes.. Tasted great. We also had a dessert! We had soooo much food and opted for the 3 course menu at £25! You can BYOB and pay corkage or order drinks from the restaurant. Staff very super friendly and service was flawless! We will be going back for sure!

The best vegan Chinese food I've ever had and one of my favourite places in Manchester. I've gotten food delivered 4 or 5 times from here and it's been delicious every time. Recommendations: honestly, everything. The crispy dim sum combo, the mock chicken, the ribs, the hotpot with mock seafood, the XO fried rice - it's all amazing! Price: the banquet for 2 is really good value for money, we usually have leftovers for lunch the next day. The rest of the menu is a little bit pricey (~£50 for 2 people) but definitely worth it!

Food was great, service was fast, reasonable prices and the vegetarian meat replacement tasted just like real meat. Almost all vegetarian and vegan menu, mostly East Asian food. Highly reccomended.

Best Chinese vegetarian takeaway in Manchester

Amazing! I don’t know where to start when I talk about Ruyi! I recommend this gem to everyone whether they eat meat or don’t. Me and my partner are vegan and this is our Favourite spot. We ask for a big table as we order so much food!!!! So much to choose from I recommend order as much as possible that’s our method as we have the fear of missing out. The shredded lamb is a new favourite but the list goes on. The staff are fantastic they are so attentive and welcoming.

Mediocre food with a high price tag I was really disappointed as I saw all the good reviews! The crispy ‘beef’ was basically just fried batter … no ‘’meat’’ in the middle. The noodle side dish was £6.50 for a small portion of noodles nothing fancy which while tasty seems so overpriced to basically accompany the main dish of ‘beef’ which was just fried batter in sauce for over £10 (aka for a main with noodles you’re looking at £18 per person) . The ‘prawn’ crackers were not crackers at all and were actually fried pieces of pastry(pictured ) - I don’t know why they can’t just go vegan prawn crackers like other places do . And the assorted dumplings for £7 we got 4 tiny dumplings with no sauce - one was potato filling which was tasteless, and the others were fairly tasteless too , plus without a sauce dry. The only positive was the satay chicken (pictured) which was delicious and the service which was great but for 1 main course with noodles, 4 small dumplings and a side dish plus two small beers we paid £50. Even if the food had been good- which it wasn’t - I’d have thought it was pricey. Im shocked at all the good reviews
