Rustico Via Pontypridd in Rhondda Cynon Taf

We would highly recommend this gorgeous little restaurant to anyone passing through Pontypridd. We went as a family of 3 with a toddler and the food was absolutely incredible. The owner was super friendly and welcoming and made our experience memorable. The restaurant itself was quaint and beautifully decorated. We can’t wait to go back! EXCELLENT value for money too!

Decided to order food for the office for lunch and as we had head good reviews about this place we decided to give it a go. We ordered over the phone and arranged a pick up time. Upon arrival our food was ready and we chatted with the owner whilst he bagged up our food. He was lovely and gave us a extra bag of chips for nothing. We were not disappointed with the food, there was enough for everyone and everything was tasty. I would like to come back and eat in at some point. What I also liked was the vast gluten free range on the menu and the capability to purchase goods there also.

Great place in Pontypridd for a pizza. Decent portion sizes, food was great. Really good menu with great choice. Service was attentive and wait times fine considering they prepare everything from scratch. Cool vibe inside. Bit weird to see a waitress lick her fingers after munching something but can't hold that against her. Will definitely go back.

Regularly come here for lunch. The service is always great, food lovely and the coffee really good. There's a lunchtime menu with lighter bites, and a bit cheaper than the main menu. I'm vegetarian and they'll happily alter an item to make it veggie. I'd happily recommend the pizza, it's one of the best pizzas in the area imo. A proper pizza oven and nice thin dough, makes a delectable pizza. There's always something on the specials board, even if it's usually not vegetarian, but as previously mentioned, they'll alter it. Today we both had the gnocchi. One as per the special board, with the fennel sausage and one vegetarian with olives instead of the sausage. There were loads of olives, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. I usually have a calzone, which is sooooo good. And it always looks so nice, like it's been made with love, and a lot of knowhow! I've also been known to pop in for a dessert and a coffee cos I've not wanted food. I really do enjoy the coffee here, and the staff are so professional and lovely. I frequently recommend this place to people.

Rustico First time coming here and was not disappointed, both members of staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to try it out! Came here again with my daughter and the food was still great!

Had a fab lunch with friends. We sat in, the service was really good. 2 of us had pizza (really delicious and authentic Italian pizza) 2 had pasta. We all really enjoyed the food including the cheesecake afterwards. Lovely casual feel to this place, love the deco. We will be back.

It was busy and we received such a warm welcome and during the Eisteddfod having Welsh-speaking staff was appreciated. I would definitely come back. Diolch 😊

Wow! Ordered two takeaway pizzas from here during the Eisteddfod the restaurant was very busy but the stuff made everybody including takeaway customers very welcome. The quality of the pizzas, including the gluten-free range was amazing and the price was of a good range. Definitely cannot wait to come back and hopefully eat in next time.

Visited on the spur of the moment on a Saturday night. Nice casual surroundings, the waiting staff were absolutely lovely and the food was really good, reasonably priced with prompt service. Proper authentic Italian pizzas - not like those greasy Domino's ones. Will definitely visit again. They also do takeaways so we'll be making the most of that in future!

Went to this amazing little place in Pontypridd for some food we ordered a pepperoni pizza and fries the service is amazing extremely kind they gave us a extra plate of fries to share for free and discounted the pizza one of the best Italian restaurant’s in wales

Lovely staff ,beautiful food quick and piping hot . Delicious. The lunch time deals are very reasonable. The whole family enjoyed . Funky decorated quaint place. Been here twice now and will be back again soon .

A lovely little find in Pontypridd town centre. I had one of the specials, a vegetable pasta which was delicious. Nice ambiance and excellent friendly service from the owner and his staff. Good value for money too. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I visited Rustico in Pontypridd for the first time on Saturday afternoon. We was kindly welcomed and seated promptly. The menu is extensive offering pizzas and pasta. I opted for a buratta Parma ham and tomato starter followed by spinach and ricotta ravioli, both tasted gorgeous and presented well. My husband had the small twisted pizza which he said was very tasty and just enough for him. We did manage a dessert, rum baba which was so nice and soaked in rum and my husband had tiramisu which he said was the best he had ever tasted. The bill was very reasonable and we would definitely return

For me this is the best pizza in Ponty. It's proper Italian style. The menu is great. If you like dessert, the tiramisu is delicious. Great service. Highly recommended.

Lovely new addition to Ponty, excellent service, great food at very reasonable prices. We ordered a pasta dish and rustic pizza and both were well presented, tasted great and were excellent value for money. Will definitely be back.

Never been first to review a new restaurant (!), but this is a very welcome addition to Pontypridd's established options for Italian/pizza lovers, particularly if you are a fan of the stone-baked variety and Neapolitan street food. There's an interesting back story as to how and why a small chain of pizza places in Sussex has opened a branch in Ponty though all you need to know here is that the family which started Rustico is the genuine Italian deal. As well as the authentic pizza offer, the menu is supplemented by some staples - including those labled 'Nonna' - suggesting an old recipe from Grandmother (or older!). We had 3 pizzas - one with ham/chicken, and then the two vegetarian options; all were delicious. There's plenty of variety, and options for 'create your own'. We didn't stop for desert, but can well imagine staying longer another time for cake and coffee, limoncello or sorbet (actually, those aren't either/or if someone else is driving). Thoroughly recommended, and we'll return. Oh, and take-away is also available!
