Rupyal Restaurant Stanningley in Leeds

We have ordered from Rupyal for years and it's been our first choice local curry takeaway - can't fault the food itself. However on two different occasions I have put in an order on their online website which has stated it is open and taken our money, only to then find out it is in fact closed. As of 18/2/24 the restaurant still appears to be closed but still allowing orders online - please don't waste your money!!

This place is one of the best authentic Indian restaurants I've ever been too. The food is amazing and such good value for money. I've tried so many different Indian dishes and I've loved everyone of them. My kids aged 12 15 and 17 always look forward to eating here. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy. The decor is stunning and the atmosphere is great. Its a real gem! Just remember to bring your own alcohol. They serve all soft drinks and an amazing mango lassie

Absolutely fabulous, true hidden gem. The food was exceptional the bhuna and saag were extremely flavoursome and nobody at the table had a bad thing to say. Very reasonably priced too you will not be disappointed.

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Food was so salty, my daughter found a bone in her chicken balls and naan was cold.

Sorry but our delivery through just eat last night was awful. Dry, tough naan that wasn't garlic, dry chicken balti, wilted brown salad with lettuce stalk in it, it was all a bit sad really considering we can afford one takeaway a month. Used to be really good a few years ago!

Ordered a chicken bhuna madras strength, when I started to eat it, it was like chicken and tomato stew. Very mild to say the least. After ringing the restaurant they replaced it with another one and they redeemed themselves. When I got there the staff were very apologetic and made another. On getting home with it I was not sure what it would be like. No worries I have to say it was lovely. Most enjoyable.

I've always enjoyed Rupyal. However my delivery chicken pakora and onion bhaji starters tonight we're poor, and poor value. Soggy pakora and dried out onion bhajis that seem to have been lying around all day then microwaved. More flour than onion. If I'd been served them in the restaurant I would probably have complained. That said my main was excellent, really enjoyable and restaurant quality. I'd order again but skip the starters.

Lovley meal, calm environment. No pressure, excellent service. Tasty food.

Ordered a chicken special balti Was dryed out chicken and just tasted of salt …. 2 mouths fulls was enough .. Second time I’ve ordered from here on recommendation and been disappointed Not for me !

Just a last minute decision to go out, and saw this place As soon as we walked through the door we were welcomed and the staff were so attentive. Great choice of dishes to suit all tastes. The food is freshly cooked and served hot in stainless steel puts with lids to keep them warm. They do not serve alcohol, but I can recommend the mango lassie, great flavour. All in all a pleasant experience, and we would go again.

Food great unless it's a takeaway then it's not so good ! Last few times we have had takeaway we couldn't eat it tasted like it were burn, starter were hard like they warmed it up in a microwave, so won't be ordering take away again very disappointed, but we will eat in as the food looks and taste very fresh .

Dine in food good but not much for the money. Small potions.

Had a meal here last week with a group of 17 people. Starters and Main course we're both very tasty. Service was quick and efficient. We brought our own Wine and Beer as they do not sell alcohol. Prices were very reasonable. Had a great night.

Lovely restaurant. The staff were very friendly and professional. They coped with a party of 8 with different requests really well. The food was hot and well cooked and nicely presented. We will visit again for sure.

Enjoyed food which was ordered via uber eats good quality and tasted really good, had the mixed starter with rice and cam with fresh salad and a nice mint sauce 😋

It's opposite a closed down mill, the grass outside is overgrown, and there was building work in the car park. Don't let that fool you. It's a nice restaurant inside with good food and good service. Been twice and will go back again.

Both the food and the service were fantastic.

Food is always fresh and good quality. Orders are always correct and our orders are always large due to ordering for 5 adults. And always ready in good time. Great choice of different dishes.

Amazing lamb madras and not too expensive

This is a great Indian restaurant, my 2 friends and I book regularly, we are never disappointed. The staff are very welcoming, attentive and listen to how you want things cooking, Gluten free? No problem. The food is delicious.and very very good value for money. We generally go mid week which is quiet but this in turn gets you great service. Highly recomendable.

£27; Mixed Grill, Paneer Tikka, Pickle Tray, 3 Poppadoms, Chicken Tikka Balti, Pillau Rice & Cheese n Onion Naan. Just not much flavour and the balti was runny. I didn't think this was worth the money.

Terrible food poisoning after eating here AVOID

Although I enjoyed my visit to Rupyal restaurant I was left feeling like something was missing. I have to say though the food was excellent service was fantastic but i used to go there when it was Polash and it just seemed a little bit more polished back then. This now is a restaurant which doesn’t serve alcohol you are able to bring your own and drink it without a charge but again it just didn’t feel the same. The furniture which we sat on was cheap It felt like it could’ve been bought from home bargains and all the restaurant was filled with this kind of furniture. Tatty hand drawn posters on the walls just spoilt it a bit. But again the food was excellent the service was excellent but it just feels like a middle of the road curry house when it could be so much more. That said I will be going back. Just a tip get some better seating and throw some plants around the place just brighten it up a little bit, maybe get a Fishtank bring back a little bit of the ambience that it used to have. To be honest you really go for the food though don’t you and you will not be disappointed.

Came last night with my children as I really fancied a "proper curry"!! And that is what we got! Food was really fresh, perfect timing between meals and the gentleman that waited on us was really polite and attentive. I had a starter, we got 3 curries, boiled rice, chips and a family size garlic naan and 2 cokes for the kids, bill total £37.00!! Definitely value for money ! We will come again. Thank you

Great curry, very attentive waiting staff. Garlic naan bread is huge and served on a hook which seems to be increasingly rare nowadays. Very quiet but I'm guessing Sunday night isn't their busiest time, though it did mean we were well waited-on and the food was clearly prepared with care and attention.

First time customers and they messed up twice. One of the dishes was wrong; instead of a vegetarian Peshwari we received something else that was hot. At least it was vegetarian, otherwise we'd have a different kind of problem. In addition, their system allows to choose delivery time. Despite that, we received our order one hour earlier than requested.

Absolutely beautiful food. Have both eaten here and have had the takeaway delivery. Both were fantastic. The takeaway was 20 minutes early, piping hot and restaurant quality. If I could give 10 stars I would, as this place ticks all my boxes and I am very fussy when it comes to Indian food!!!

I been here before when it was called another name, enjoyed it......but this visit wasn't to bad staff very friendly always on the ball to help . Food was good and tasty but I shouldn't score it on the other restaurant it use to be called. Just think a few improvements are required.

New establishment Authentic Indian restaurant I would say it's ok the starters were not that nice The mains were better. The reason for the high rating was because of the service. The waiters were all really nice and went the extra mile. They even offered to bring new starters as we didn't like them and they gave us a good discount at the end. Wish them all the best!
