Royal Oak Hotel in Conwy

This is an absolute gem of a place to stay. The staff are fantastic the rooms are very comfortable and the food is outstanding. What is not to like. Steve W

If you are planning on climbing Snowdon as we did, then this is the perfect overnight base. The rooms were nice and the food and drink offerings from the pub were superb. Our entire group of 10 thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend.

We stopped here for an early lunch. It was pretty quiet and had plenty of choice of where to sit. It had a lovely cosy feel. We had paninis and they were excellent. Although a little on the pricy side, it was well worth it. They came with side salad, coleslaw and crisps. Coffee was very good and tea was too.

A lovely old hotel, we had a deluxe room at the back. The room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and there were toiletries in the bathroom. Plenty of nice teas and coffees, with hot chocolate and biscuits as extra. We did eat at the hotel and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Recommended.

Had a fantastic 2 night stay mid week with our 2 friends. What a beautiful hotel this is. The rooms were spacious and the food amazing. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. The staff were excellent too. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Thanks to everyone

Nice bar area with log fire, nice restaurant with delicious food at reasonable prices, excellent service from friendly staff, delicious, hearty breakfast, loads of parking, fantastic scenery nearby for walking, and great shops to peruse. The room we had was a bit of a step back in time but very comfortable, large and clean, and the bathroom (the most important bit) was very modern. We visited off season so the hotel was nice and quiet, but I'd imagine in summer it will get busy and probably very lively in the large outdoor seating area. I'll definitely be back - one of the best places I've stayed.

Absolutely fantastic stay here. Couldn’t recommend it more good parking around the back as bought my older car so nice to see security cameras. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Service and quality of food was brilliant had breakfast and an evening meal there the both nights we stayed. Room was very clean and cosy , love the tv imbedded into a picture frame very classy. Lovely area Betws-y-coed offers a lovely small Welsh village atmosphere and delivered superbly with little cafes and shops. Definitely staying here again closer to summer as weather wasn’t amazing but didn’t leave a mark on our lovely stay.

Good food, nice atmosphere with the outdoor seating and lighting. Save yourself the hassle of queing, find a table, and use table QR scan, much easier.

The beer was so-so and the lunch was just about ok.

Visited the restaurant, really good food for okay prices and excellent service, but my first choice of dish was out of stock hence 4stars.

Good service, good food, good location, bit lacking in atmosphere but good enough if you want a quiet evening.

A hotel with a lot of potential but very dated rooms. The downstairs lobby, bar and restaurant are well decorated, if only the rooms could be brought up to the same standard. A few things. TV doesn't face the bed, single glazed windows that let in a lot of road noise but have to be open because the room gets very warm. The reception and waiting staff were very friendly and polite but the cleaner did knock on our door 45 minutes before checkout time and unlock the door before we had even made it out of bed, very strange. Ultimately if this hotel was not so well placed in the center of town I don't think it could charge half the money it does. A shame, because it could easily be much better

Approaching the staff was really horrible, discriminating and made us really uncomfortable

The food was delicious, it was overshadowed a bit by being given a wrong dish but sadly I did not realise until after as it was for my husband, the service was not as efficient as expected especially when it came to clearing the table. The manager seemed very abrupt which was off putting sadly

We had a such a nice Dinner at the Grills at Royal Oak hotel. The place gets quite busy so booking in advance is preferable. We turned up without a booking for dinner and had to wait for 30 mins to get our table. But the wait was worth it. We had ordered a rump of lamb, chicken skewers and sea bass fillets and all was served very well presented and was very tasty.

Only went in for dinner, which was excellent!!

Lovely sunday roast dinner in a lovely traditional pub/hotel great service. Will be back!!

Had a meal with grandchildren very good food and value

Only passing through and can only talk about lunch which was very English with boiled potatoes, vegetables and chicken breast. The food was lacking in taste but the serves was excellent. Did not spend the night as I had other plans.

I cannot judge the hotel rooms as I haven't stayed overnight there but the restaurent was really nice (although uncomfortably warm & stuffy due to hot weather & a perspex roof so needs better ventilation). Food was very good & the bar & restaurent staff were all incredibly kind, welcoming & helpfull. Yes I'd go again if I intended to sleep over & check the rooms out 😊

We went with our family, 10 people. 6 adults, 4 children. We had an amazing meal. Staff were great 👍 The lamb was brilliant.

Good base place to stay …food is good … Bit of a nightmare trying to get a parking place if you are staying at the hotel…it’s a pay and display public carpark
