Great venue and ambience, grand entrance and a cosy chic elegant seating and bar area. The cocktails were great and had a good selection with table service.

One of my locals. It's a cocktail bar 🍹. Great selection of well constructed cocktails. Can't fault it tbh.

Great Atmosphere. Service was excellent. Drinks choices were not limited, but personally would have preferred more long drink options. Had a lot of great shorts instead and was not disappointed.

Beautiful selection of cocktails in this wee cozy nook that is The Royal Institution Bar with Owen and Damien who made me feel like at home. I started with the Head(less) A well-balanced drink that consists of Rye Whiskey, Ardbeg Wee Beastie, Courvoisier, Apricot, Smoked Tea Syrup, and Lemon Foam. I also had the Raku, a really interesting cocktail that uses a local miso + coffee infused gin by Turncoat with a hint of chocolate and orange bitters. Delightful!

Great place for cocktail and live music! Really good old fashioned and friendly staff.

A los huéspedes les encantó el servicio de mesa, las bebidas (como ex camarero, recomiendo encarecidamente los cócteles) y la habitación en sí. Tengo que dar un gran saludo - a todo el personal amable que estaba a mano para ayudar con nuestras solicitudes, durante nuestro tiempo allí y también por correo electrónico antes de la reserva. Como espacio, la habitación era preciosa, con cómodos asientos para 20 personas. Fue perfecto para nuestro pequeño evento, autoservicio. En general diría que la relación calidad-precio era excepcional y lo recomendaría encarecidamente. Muchas gracias:)

I have not been for food as of yet so I am unable to leave a review. But this is an amazing place and had an amazing atmosphere. The staff always check up on you and make sure you have a drink. They are extremely friendly and professional too. This is an amazing place to grab a drink and it has a chill , soothing , calming vibe too. Amazing place to come with your friends and family!

This venue holds a special place in my heart as many years ago my dad grew up in this building and his dad was the caretaker. It’s decked out isa tasteful and beautiful way. The drinks were amazing and if you don’t drink they do a variety of cocktails. The bar staff are very knowledgeable and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Highly recommend visiting this place.

Been here a few times now and normally it's great however we visited on a Saturday and were very disappointed. The quality of the cocktails were poor for the price, the prosecco was flat and clearly from the day before and service was slow to the point we were never given menus. The music was far too loud to the point it felt like the venue wasn't sure if it was a cocktail bar or a nightclub.

We hosted my Daughters Baby Shower here on a Sunday and it was an absolute delight! The two Gentleman who ran the bar were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. They were helpful, friendly and just made the day and preparations easy. Drinks were reasonably priced, venue is obviously stunning. Would recommend to anyone considering a small intimate venue. Excellent. Thank you.

Some unique cocktails in a unique venue

Tried this place on Saturday night and reading about it on The Echo website. Great place for a nice drink with nice background music that you can enjoy and still hear each other talking. Staff were tremendous. Will definitely make this a regular place to visit.

Among the bars in Liverpool, this bartender is the only one who can make a satisfying cocktail based on the taste I want. I highly recommend this cocktail bar! One and only bar in Liverpool where the bartender can always make a cocktail which is matches what I want. So sick and highly recommended!

A hidden gem! Visited on Friday evening with my boyfriend. The live music made for a brilliant atmosphere! Service from Owen was exceptional & the cocktails we had were also equally as great! Will be visiting again!

The atmosphere in RL is fantastic, super cool and decor ensures the place is unique in Liverpool. Can't thank the RL team enough for making the surprise party an absolute success!!

I had a fairly decent Espresso Martini, however the Caribbean Tea Cocktail was not to my taste. The staff were good, but unable to comment on the atmosphere because we were the only ones there (it was quite early in the evening)

A nice, chilled bar with a very warm and cosy decor. It is more on the expensive side during weekends however there are occasionally 2 for 1 offers on drinks. There is a selection of bar snacks to choose from. The cocktails are incredibly well made and delicious, and the service is very friendly and professional.

We hired the Royal Institution bar for a 21st Birthday party, we had an absolute ball. The venue itself is gorgeously decorated, high ceilings, classy paintings and expensive furniture throughout, there’s 3 separate rooms and a grand hallway which was good for pictures. We had roughly 100 guests which meant older family members could relax in a quieter room, we had a room for food and the bar for dancing and DJ. I cannot credit the staff enough, they were brilliant, Dan in particular looked after us very well, he and the team made sure our night ran smoothly from start to finish. Thank you for a night to remember, we would absolutely recommend the venue to anyone looking to hire the space for an event. We’ve also been for drinks a few times on a Friday/Saturday night which are fab, exquisite cocktails and live music of a weekend.

I came here last week with some friends and had such a lovely time, the atmosphere is so nice and it's not too loud in there like alot of other bars nearby. Dan was so friendly and helpful and found me my new fave drink! Had several drinks here and tried my mates drinks and they were all unreal. Definitely gonna go here again, thank you guys for a great night!

Oh boy. This is a cocktail bar that can hold its own anywhere. Decor. Drinks. Vibe. Check. Outstanding booze and service to rival any of the ‘Best Bars in The World’ that we’ve been to - but without any of the self Importance that comes with many of those places. Quality Old Fashioned served to order. Eye opening Bloody Mary with Mescal - OMG. Memorable Manhattans and Pisco Sours. And perfectly poised Bone Dry Martinis. Tested and passed with 100%. We just moved here from London, but what a place to have as your local watering hole.

We have catered for private events at this venue on multiple occasions now. The staff are great and the venue is beautifully unique. We highly recommend the Royal institution to anyone wanting to hire for a private event or simply to pop in and have a great night out. 5 stars from us.

Lovely cocktail bar, small venue but was very cosy and allowed walk ins. We unknowingly arrived on their Wednesday jazz nights which was amazing ! Definitely would recommend going for this and also to take advantage of the two for £15 cocktails between Sundays and Thursdays.

Fantastic bra that’s worth a visit if you’re ever in Liverpool. Take my advise and start the evening with the "El Flamenco Azul”, and let your pallet take your from there. Smart playlist in the background to further set the stage for a great evening. Rumor has it the Wednesday is live jazz evening. I’ll for sure check that out next time in Liverpool.

Incredible venue for a joint 21st party we hosted. Couldn’t fault the venue or the staff, incredibly attentive and helpful and all round lovely people. One thing that no one warns you about when booking a function room: They are DARK. I don't mean "mood lighting". I mean "I can't see the menu at all" dark. The lighting in the function rooms CAN be brighter - it's controlled outside of the room. Staff say it can't be changed, then after another request, they do it. I've been there twice for functions and both times we've been surprised how dark the rooms are. Both times we've requested they do something about it. Just raise the lighting a bit by default and the function rooms would be lovely. Cheers!

Wonderful cocktail bar: not only the cocktail card looks interesting but it actually delivers. Cocktails are rich, very well balanced and interesting in flavor combinations. Place is definitely worth visiting.

There is something not quite right about this place. One barman can make you a perfect cocktail, with friendly service, and then the next barman makes a totally lousy cocktail, and is full of excuses for why it tastes like flavoured water. I desperately want this bar to succeed but lousy management makes me think twice about going there again.

Nice cocktail I have ever drink

A lovely bar located inside a beautiful building. The drinks menu is wide-ranging and fairly priced. The cocktails are some of the best I've had and the atmosphere makes it! We did a cocktail class and it was perfect, giving everyone a choice of 2 cocktails to make. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly!

Don't normally go to cocktail bars, however I was pleasantly surprised by how much of a great time I had in RI last night. Smashing cocktails, reasonably priced and the waitress Megan was great!
