Royal China in Lisburn

Dreadful. Dry overcooked tasteless chicken no sauce and no veg with the honey chilli chicken. An expensive takeaway but had the food been decent I would have been happy to pay. Definitely not be back there are far better Chinese takeaways.

Had a chicken curry and chips, good portion but let down by flavour of curry and awful texture of the chicken, it has to be the worst I've ever had. I'll not be back

Food was good, portion sizes are huge so good value. The box meal for £18.50 was massive and could easily have fed all three of us with leftovers.

Had food from this place last Friday its under new management the food was great im going to try tonight again then I will repost again

Lovely chinese, well ran and very tasty.

Ordered fried rice and noodles, easiest of dishes, totally disgusting ! Up all night with stomach issues ! Never had this problem before with any other take away

Ordered a thai dish £8.50 no rice or sides included. Dish itself a mess of raw hard vegetables, watery sauce and big lumps of fatty bloody chicken. Mot great at all

Tried this a few times a while ago and food was average - I would try again if you were on Just Eat with a few good reviews. There’s not a lot of choice on just eat in Hillsborough.

Had to give this place a star or I couldn't leave a review they absolutely don't deserve a star at all. They had it cooked and delivered in under 20mins the food is disgusting. The chicken was dry the chips were hard and the curry was lumpy the salt and chilli chicken was so hard I near broke my tooth. I rung and got a refund to which they kept £7.40 so wen I rung back they said it was for the drinks n delivery, the drinks came to £3, £4.40 to drive 2mins up the road is a joke!!

So wanted it to be good ,but it was soooooooo bad , would never go again had sweet and sour chicken which just tasted of celery ,the rice was warmed up and very sticky .If you want to waste you money then give it a try ,other wise avoid like the plauge, it's bad

Last 2 times we've bought food here we've been very disappointed. Bought 3 different dishes tonight and 2 of them were bland and watery. The dish that was ok was a dry dish, which probably saved it from the same fate. Sorry to say, can't be recommended.

Chinese was absolutely awful. My boyfriend ordered duck in soy sauce, when we took the duck out, there was no sauce except for four separate sachets of soy sauce for some very dry duck. I ordered honey chilli chicken, which was more like sweet and sour, little to no sauce over the top and again extremely dry. When paying, there was also no card payments being taken. Cash only. We are in an era where this needs to be updated. Tasteless and a severe, overdue need for an update in chefs. I won’t be returning.

Just got chicken and fried rice and prawn crackers- pathetic- no egg or peas in the fried rice, dry, didn’t even cook the prawn crackers properly, could have broken your tooth on the hard lumps. It’s time this place changed its chef or closed down . Without a doubt, in my opinion, the worst Chinese in the country. Have never written a review before but could not let this pass!

Sorry to say but i had the worst take away of my life here, it was a very vinegary watery mess of a shredded chicken dish. Hopefully it was just an off night. 🐔😢🐔😢

Waited for 45 mins for a simple order of 1 dish. Pandemonium reigned with lots of shouting and confusion, and I gave up after 45 mins. Frustrating and disappointing. Best avoided.

Chaos... I ordered a single, simple dish and sat down to wait. The place was in pandemonium with much shouting and confusion. After 45 mins waiting, there was no sign of my food, so I got a refund and went home hungry. To be avoided.

After many years we are no longer using this take away. The food is very poor at present and in a covid situation the cash only payment is ridiculous. The chef smoking outside most days is also off putting.

The Royal China has been an institution in Hillsborough for a long time.Throughout its chequered history from being a sit restaurant to a dedicated Takeaway/Delivery service it has never failed in its endeavor to provide fresh and top quality dishes. Alongside this,the front of house staff are excellent, keep up the good work!

Have eaten here a couple times and its been quite nice, decided to eat here recently and it was very average, bland compared to previous orders.

I've got food from Royal China for quite a few years but the place has definitely gone downhill in recent months. Nothing a lick of paint and new furnishings wouldn't sort out. The food is generally OK, nothing particularly I'd recommend.

After reading some of the recent reviews I was a bit wary of ordering a meal from here especially on Christmas Eve. The food arrived promptly, nice and hot. Great portions and top quality. Well enjoyed by us all.

It's an OK Chinese takeaway, the staff appeared to be somewhat chaotic when they got busy. The orders came out with no logical sequence, it seemed as though the bigger orders got completed before the smaller ones. My chicken curry with chip's was fine but the wife spicy and sweet crispy chicken was very stringy and tough.

Read the bad reviews, but I didn't want chips etc and pizza place closed so here I am Place is run down and amateurish inside.I ordered sweet and sour pork Cantonese style with boiled rice.Big portions. Carrot, onion and pineapple but no peppers in the main dish.It was ok but I still think it was a little off the pork. As I can still taste that sourish taste in my mouth.But it was a fair meal at £7.00 a fair price.Worth a visit if nothing else open.

The royal is our local and we have been getting takeaway from there for 10 years. It's fast affordable and tasty food. Really wide range of dishes on the menu and the quality has always been consistent. Not really set up for eating in although there are a few tables.

Just moved to the area Got a take away tonight Possibly the worst Chinese I have ever had Chicken Satay very tender chicken in a spicy gravy Nothing like any satay I have ever had Prawn in black bean Bland & tasteless Salt chilli Ribs Chewy & Tastless £18 for this really is a joke Is it actually ran by some one local who has never been to China Thank goodness we got a portion of chips from chippy down the street We binned the Chinese & had chip butties

Decent food but a bit tired looking

I think this place has just got worse and worse since the 2nd Chinese take away closed down in the village. They just don't seem to care any more - The food is just really bad. I would try somewhere else if I was you!

I have been a visitor here since the late 1990's and have always been very impressed with the quality of the food.I have always tried to encourage other people to try this hidden gem.Unfortunately I feel that the standards have slipped recently.I ordered a special curry for delivery to my house, not cheap as delivery is working out at approximately £5.50.When I tasted the curry l didn't realise that I had informed them that l was a vegetarian, mushrooms,mushrooms and more mushrooms.Please show some respect for the paying customer.I'm afraid to say that the great wall of China has come tumbling down and wIll have to reluctantly look elsewhere!!!!

Llamé en rojo china para llevar. Mi esposa y yo nos apetecía un filete de cerdo entre nosotros. Me dijeron que no tenían filete de cerdo pero tenía las chuletas de cerdo. Estoy de acuerdo con esto. Al llegar a casa me lo dan las chuletas lpork eran como de cuero.

If you have a choice, eat elsewhere. Stodgy chips, teeth breaking prawn crackers and to top it all off no dip with the money toast. Please someone open a good Chinese takaway in hillsborough!!!

Fast service friendly staff and fantastic food

Quite a good Chinese relatively. Chip portions are massive. Some unusual smoked food options that aren't on the usual Chinese takeaway menu. Worth trying

Had not been there for sometime, and finally decided to try them again. Wish I'd drove onto Lisburn. OK portion size was fine. Fried rice, brown, clumping awful. Way too much garlic in meal. Sadly even the prawn crackers where under cooked.
