Evert time we go here it never fails to impress! Service, atmosphere, quality of food🤗 it is always was a delight!

Food is good, we are pleased to find this place locally. Will come back. The lamb smoking curry is excellent. Most of other dishes are great too. However, frog legs were overcooked and batter too thick. I guess this is a new trial dish.

Highly recommend! Food was brilliant and couldn’t fault the service. Really great experience for all of us.

Great food, great service and great atmosphere. It's rare to find restaurants who gets it right from A to Z but they do! I went there for my birthday with my husband and I couldn't recommend it more! We felt like VIP and looking at other tables, it seems like everybody was treated with a 5stars service. We'll be back!

Part of a pre wedding celebration, so a fairly large group, they served a set menu. There was plenty of choice, including chicken, lamb and vegetable choices, this was served along the table in beautiful dishes.

We had a great meal at Roots on Friday. The dishes are all ambitious and successful with great use of quality fresh spices. For example the aromatic biryani where the rice steams in an oven pot beneath a lovely crunchy lid something like a crispy paratha. Side dishes such as Dahl Makhani and chicken tikka skewers from the Tandoor also impressed. Will definitely come again. There is an excellent lunch 2-course menu which makes weekdays very reasonable to eat but the whole menu is well worth paying the full price for.

Following a recommendation, we booked a table at Roots to celebrate my (ahem…) 22nd birthday. It did not disappoint. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Will certainly be back.

Superb food and extremely friendly staff. Gave us a complimentary black daal when we couldn’t decide whether to order it or not. Not a traditional standard curry house menu.superb starters and mains.

Well just excellent. If I could give 6 stars I would. Slightly more expensive but well worth it. Just visited again for the Sunday Roast menu. We had the lamb which you need to order 48 hours in advance which was superb. Excellent food and great service.

I’ve just came back from a meal here. Outstanding. I enjoy spicy food, but not just hot for the sake of it. (My wife is Indian, so I’m used to it having flavour too, not just hot) This place delivers, but do ask for what you want. These guys know what they are doing. Great service. Great food. A surprising gem.

Brilliant restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service. We’ve been a few times now and took my vegan friend last night. They were so attentive to her and went above and beyond to ensure she enjoyed her meal. The free mango sorbet with 3 spoons was a lovely end to our meal!

I visited my friend in Teddington, he took me his favourite Indian restaurant Roots in main mkt area, I found it very beautiful ambiance, related to Indian culture and Rajasthani vibrant colours.... staff was very attentive and welcome us to given comfortable table , we had Popadum and chutneys to start ....I was very impressed with chutney quality special berries one and sweet potato, also had daal Makhani was authentic , saag also excellent, Garlic naan was perfect, my friend had few grills , all were amazing presented and delicious in taste and I loved their unique dessert tandoori pineapple. Price was very responsible in that elite mkt ,best Indian restaurant in Teddington Recommended to all Indian food lovers

Hands down the best Indian restaurant, perhaps the best restaurant of any cuisine, in Teddington. The food is delicious and the menu very thoughtfully put together. It is extremely well-priced for the quality. Aman and his team do a fantastic job to deliver impeccable service in a manner that always remains down to earth and welcoming. A truly fantastic restaurant.

Hidden gem in Teddington. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic - Aman was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hand painted mural is stunning. The cocktails are very, very good. Can’t wait to go back, would recommend to anyone 10/10!

This is a very distinctive restaurant. It's friendly and laid back but faultlessly attentive and efficient. Everything says 'we are determined to be a great place to eat'. The menu is smaller than the choice: after a mix of shared starters, all delicious, I was headed for rogon ghost but asked the waiter to make it hot. He suggested Kohlpuri ghost instead. Never heard of it, and not on the menu, but he was the expert... The result was a dish of huge flavour, just glorious, that included subtle flavours I've never met in 50 years of eating and cooking Indian food. Wow. Roots is probably in the top three Indian restaurants I have ever been to, and eye-openingly good. At that level there is no equal first. I almost dare not go on about it, because it's already crowded. and busy with locals who know what they have got. More success will only make it harder to book a table, and I'd love to go there again.

After reading the reviews we decided to try this restaurant and we were blown away by the food. Every dish and sauce was absolutely incredible, helped by the staff recommendations. Best Indian food we have tried in the UK. Highly recommend

We loved Roots so much, we went twice whilst on our trip to the area. Very creative menu propelling Indian food to new heights of taste sensations. Must try truffle naan and the exceptional Boozy Gullab Jamon! It was my birthday and One, I won’t forget! Keep up the good work, excited to visit Again 🙌🏽

I have eaten at Roots on 3 occasions now and every time it has been outstanding - delicious cocktails, amazing food and exceptional service. They also recently catered for a fundraising event we held at a local preschool - everyone was blown away by the food and can’t wait to come to Roots to try more! They were so supportive and helpful in the run up and did not want to make money from the event but just to support a local cause. Thank you Aman and team for everything! My new favourite restaurant in Teddington! I’ve ordered food from Roots many times and they are consistently good. Every dish is delicious- in particular, the slow cooked black daal, the chicken malbari and lamb rogan josht are so flavourful and tender, they’re not your average local Indian takeaway. Roots helped cater a charity event for us for more than 50 people and their service and care was impeccable, with everyone saying how blown away they were by the quality and taste of the food. The staff went out of their way to help and accommodate all of our needs and it was a great success. Thank you Roots!

Unquestionably the best Indian cuisine I have ever had the pleasure to consume. Exceptionally delicate food with flavours seeping through at every level. The menu is wide ranging and includes dishes rarely seen ( if ever ) in any other Indian restaurant I have visited over the years. A delightful evening with attentive and friendly staff despite it being a full house on a Friday night. I look forward to introducing this treasure of a restaurant to other friends and family members. Hats off to the team at Roots.

One of the best curries I’ve ever had. Meat was beautifully moist and the sauces so smooth and tasty. The desserts were fabulous too. Very reasonably priced considering the quality. We had the butter chicken and thought it was sensational. Also the ice creams - matka kulfi - if you like pistachios, almonds and rose flavours you’ll be in heaven. We will be back to try the other options. Loved it.

We held a party for 19 here. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. Dishes are slightly different to the normal fare which makes for a great dining experience. Highly recommend !

Lovely Indian restaurant with a fabulous menu that isn't overwhelming with choice. The goat biryani was cooked to perfection and the raita so delicious. The trio of chicken tika was tasty and beautifully cooked and the mango lassi, one of the best I've had. Highly recommend to eat in as the service and staff are wonderful as well.

My wife and I had the Sunday lunch (set menu - Tandoori plate), 3 courses for £30 each. There was more than enough food for the both of us. The service and the atmosphere were great, but the food was the real star! Chicken 65, yes please, I could eat that all day….perfectly paired with the Punjab samosa for starters. The Tandoori platter and sides (Dahl, Potatoes, Spinach & Mushroom) for mains Desert Charcoal ice-cream with a sweet dough ball and pineapple. Best Indian I have ever had, hands down! Please keep up the good work Roots. I’ll be back!

We had another excellent meal at Roots. The Goat Byriani was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent as usual. They allow dogs at the tables in the front, so Charlie always comes with us.

The food is incredible. Brilliant service, lovely atmosphere and restaurant has been done so well, including a 50 ft hand painted Indian mural on the wall. A must visit.

My friend and I came here after seeing a few videos on Instagram and TikTok! The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is genuinely amazing. Its got a lot going on without it appearing too busy. The customer service was fast, they check in on you as much as they can (the restaurant was extremely busy). I was quite skeptical if the food was going to be good or if the portion size would be big enough. The king prawn biryani and samosa chaat did not disappoint, would most definitely recommend it. The portions were great, my friend and I were struggling to finish it!

Try the frogs legs. I am sure this is not a traditional Indian dish and ascertaining from the waiter that the owner has French connection I understand why it is on the menu. Goat biryani’s great as well. Well done guys and I would be back if I didn’t live in NZ

Wonderful Indian resteraunt. We've been getting the odd takeout over the last few weeks and actually sat in this time. Menu is amazing and makes you try different dishes. My other half rates the biryani as among the best she's ever had and I had a Chefs Special which was hotter than most on the menu however a lovely warming heat. Probably the best lamb curry I've ever had and I've had a fair few. Cobra was cold and on draught. A good selection of drinks including a cocktail list. Lovely buzz in a stylish resteraunt. Staff attentive, knowledgable. My new favourite place for food. My 4 year old had a korma and I couldnt stop dunking my bread in the sauce ! Brilliant and highly recommended.

Being an Indian myself, I can safely say Roots is one of the best Indian restaurants that I have been to in the UK. The food is brilliant, the staff are very friendly and the location is right on the High Street. The only thing I would say is that the prices aren’t for everyone. However, you pay for quality.

Really lovely indian restaurant with beautiful decor throughout. The waiter was very attentive to my gluten allergy. Very authentic menu that’s not overwhelming with too many choices. Will definitely be coming back ! Thank you Root for an amazing experience.

The food is well presented and delicately seasoned. The menu is limited but the dishes are tasty. The goat biryani is excellent and the way it's brought to the table in a pot with a roti crust to keep the food moist is inspirational. The waiter then peels back the crust and a plume of steam escapes allowing you to inhale the divine smells. The chicken tikka starter is served in a similar way, a glass dome filled with steam is lifted from the plate at the table, the meat was so moist and tender, it was a joy to eat. I don't have the words to describe the scallop starter, you'll have to try them yourself. It was a pleasant evening and I'll definitely revisit.

Very very authentic Indian restaurant. We only had time to get the mains . But both Malabar chicken and the biryani were very delicious . The staff made you feel welcome . Aman was there to talk to us and we then found that he is one of the co owners ! Priced reasonably as well . Will definitely go again if we come to this side

Excellent top class food and we had an amazing rum icecream dessert which was to die for. Sadly we now live in Norfolk so it's not our local. If ever we come down here we will be back!
