Roger's Cantonese Takeaway in Bridgend

We called to order, before ordering we asked if it was okay if we could give special requests, we were advised ,that this was okay. We then proceeded to place our order, upon the delivery and inspection of the food, it was clearly not done to our special requirements. Which we paid extra for, a total of £76. We then called in to query this, and was then met with a reply "well if you haven't touched the food how do you know it's wrong" to which we replied "because you can see through the plastic trays" we then asked for the food to be returned, an a full refund. Too which the lady replied "sorry we Don't do refund on orders delivered" then rudely put the phone down. I then called back ,then the male answered the phone and said to bring food back, an a refund will be given....upon arriving at the takeaway, we we greeted by a rude elder lady,who thought it would be funny to insult me in Chinese specifically mandarin,thinking becausee I'm a white male ,I don't understand what was said.... unfortunately for them I did understand....furthermore the elder lady then raised her hand as if to go and slap me,and said in broken English "don't eat here.again"... to which I then replied "don't worry we won't eat here again ,as I.woundnt feed the food served to us (which we returned) to a stray dog "... this how bad it was ..... Be aware this is below standard for the service received....

There are definately mixed views for this takeaway but every time we have ordered, always Menu D for two, we have had amazing food. So delicious & tasty, best chinese takeaway in the area.

Very late in delivering over an hour attitude stinks

Second time getting a take away from here - and the last. Only went here as the Cantonese was shut due to family holiday. Ordered a yung chow rice and a singapore fried rice - both bland, only small pieces of chicken and pork in both. No vegetables - peppers or onions or shrimp which is normal in both these dishes. Watched them cooking it, and jot even any soy sauce etc used. No flavour at all..despite asking for extra chilli in the singapore rice....no curry flavour at all! Not returning.

We always have our Chinese from here and it’s always delicious. Fast delivery with friendly delivery drivers, hot food and reasonable. Will not order from anywhere else.

Amazingly delicious food, great choices with an extremely friendly service at the counter. Excellent value for money.

The kitchen is open to watch the cooking, and it makes me wonder if all chinese takeaways do this.... The food was lovely. I felt a bit concerned about the food that's under the counter not covered up, measured food ready to be cooked . A Hot day, and in a kitchen, I'm surprised food health standards let them do this. There are no lids on top. It looked like chicken meat balls in batter and other open food not covered.. I understand the fast cooking leaving veg out, but that food meat will have been there much longer was around 30 Chinese tubs filled of same food..

Best chinese ever had..so fresh and tasty

Very disappointing. Rice was an over cooked mush. Singapore fried rice Not one Prawn in site, they are the best bit too. The fish with ginger and onion practically fish goujons swimming in oil. Chow mein extremely greasy. Sorry but wont be visiting again Will stick to the green Dragon where we usually go from now on.

Honestly the best Chinese in Porthcawl, I could order from here every day, there is so much of a variety of food here and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!

Shame they got the order wrong we asked for mushroom noodles and got a container of plain noodles which were very greasy and bland, which is a shame as the food is usually very good.

OK, all food outlets have taken a kicking with the pandemic but it's no excuse to drop standards even further. Recent visits, the expensive ingredients & spices are being used in even smaller quantities so the food is bland. The cheaper 'padding' ingredients are such poor quality you have to throw them away so basically you're handing over £5 or £6.00 for plain noodles or rice. Getting loyal customers is expensive. Losing them is cheap, or being cheap! Since my first review the food hygiene rating has improved and is now 4/5, (Good), my decision to eat from this outlet was informed by this.

Great food, always grab myself a takeaway from here when I’ve got the money. Decent prices too! Only let down is the lack of card payment, wish they would branch out to card payment and maybe even Just Eat services. (Still haven’t met Roger. Maybe we should file a missing persons report 😭)

Great American/British style Chinese food that tastes fresh with a decent portion. They're cash only and don't accept card payments however which is really strange in 2021, especially during covid.

This was recommend to us as our local Chinese have gone down hill. Very impressed, food was great, staff were lovely and friendly and it was nice and clean.

Picked up a takeaway this evening ....very tasty ...hot and plenty of it ...definetly would recommend ...lovely food good service and value for money.

5++++++++++++ can’t rate it high enough. We live in Bedfordshire and none of our takeaway compares to this place. We had a lovely meal delivered to us from Rogers Chinese takeaway. Don’t normally bother with reviews but I found the exception for this take away. Absolutely amazing. We have a family of 10 on holiday and the meal all together was £125. Worth double that. Not one complaint from a fussy family. Thank you so much. Also the delivery lady was so friendly as well. Thank you so much to everyone that worked this evening. If I could give 10 stars then I would.

Had this meal from Rogers delivered which was nice. However gave the lady £30 and had £2 back for a £23 meal. Rang and explained the situation to guy in Rogers.His reply money right. So I have been short changed £5. Someone on the take and the girl on front desk could not understand why I was querying. Being a local and aways going there they can shove the business where the sun don't shine. Robbing buggers never going back. Check your change fellow customers.

Absolutely lovely Chinese. I have used Roger"s for the last 3 Saturday,s and every meal has been stunning, really fresh. Be prepared for a long wait for delivery as they get really busy on the weekend so expect to wait an hour or more but it is so worth the wait.

We are regular users for really good cuisine which is always cooked in front of you if you wish to wait at the counter. A must have for a family gathering.

Been there a couple of times and the food is pretty typical, nothing special but it is good. Biggest issue is they DO NOT ACCEPT CARD.

Roger's keeps better hours than most Chinese takeaways in the area and has a very large selection. It is also open 7 days a week, only closed on 25th & 26th Dec. The food isn't as good as the nearby Cantonese but it's much cheaper. They could be a bit more liberal with spices, seasoning and prawns. Some of the prices shown on their walls are out of date so you pay more, (illegal). I eat from here at least once a week and the food is good for the price. My decision to eat from this establishment was informed by the displayed food hygiene rating of 3/5 (Generally Satisfactory).

Not nice first meal after 3 weeks shutďown 2 modornise takeaway!!!!!!!!.

Staying at trecco and normally order from green dragon which is lovely. But on recommendation tried Rogers. Food was horrible. Special fried rice was not fried. It was white and boiled with no meats or sauce. Bbq sauce was horrible tasted more like sweet an sour. Not nice at all very poor meal. Salt and oepper chilli ribs were nice but sorry to say i wouldn't order again.

Were on holiday and faniced a Chinese . It's was very very good highly recommend . It's puts our one at home to shame. Was exceptional food . The chicken balls was bang on nice thin batter . Top quality food

The food is absolutely outstanding. The people who work there are friendly, they have an open kitchen so you can watch them cook everything, and it's decently priced. I had a portion of smoked chicken, chips and rice for under £10!

Special fried rice was more plain boiled rice with very little 'special', prawns were cooked in microwave.....AGAIN!!!!!.....roast pork had absolutely no marinade, crispy beef was all stuck together, obviously reheated from previous night. Never again!!!!

Ordered special noodles last night and I've never tasted anything so bland in my life! No onions, no flavour, completely and utterly tasteless!!!!!!!!!!!!
