Roadchef in Stafford

We stopped here for a break. There is plenty of parking available. The services were modern, light and airy. The seating area in the food court was tidy. There was a lovely seating area outside overlooking the pond and fountain. One of the better services on the m6.

6.55am - stopped for drinks and to use the accessible facilities. Both disabled toilets were absolutely disgusting. Faeces all over toilets, seats , urine all over on floor and sinks full of wet tissue or sink full of grit/dirt. Not just one of the toilets,, it was foul in both disabled cubicles.

Had a decent full English. Great service even started cooking the eggs whilst the payment went through. In fact they were so quick I ordered, paid and ate my breakfast before the rest of the family even received their orders from McDonald’s next door. Full English had nicely spiced sausage great eggs everything was spot on.

Normally I like Roadchef though this one is an exception. I will never stop again. Only McDonald’s and Costa open. McDonald’s self serve screens we’re playing up, so had to go to Costa for a breakfast roll. Coffee great as always at Costa but boy was the bacon role a disappointment. A few 25 mm or less undercooked streaky bits of bacon 🥓 Total crap.

As anyone will tell you, British motorway service stations are dire. This one is okay, at least the toilets are clean. There's a pleasant outdoor seating area next to an artificial lake, which is a nice touch. Food & petrol prices are still a rip off though.

Lunchtime on a Sunday and the services are busy, not helped by the closure of the main M6 so toll road busier than usual. Stopped for a sandwich and a drink. The selection was poor and most items were sold out. Thought I would have something hot but wraps sold out too. Back to a GSD New York Deli sandwich. Obviously been kept in strange conditions. Partially bone dry and partially soggy. If it weren’t for the queue at the counter and that the staff were trying their best, this would have gone straight back. Were this I New York a large damages claim would now follow.

Not bad services as these places go. Does feel like it has lots of space. A really different choice of food stops rather than just the normal macdonalds or burger king. Actually a decent area of seating too.

I stopped here for supper on a Monday evening (7pm). Straight into a car park off the M6, ample parking and tastefully done. Walking into the main services entrance, I headed to the toilets. Unfortunately I could smell the urine from the gent's toilet area before getting there (not a good start). I then headed to McDonald's. Served by a very capable/efficient gent, but not overly friendly. My meal arrived quickly, but they forgot the chilli sauce, until reminded. The place was not busy. My meal was ok (the 3 piece chicken strips were a bit moist/liquidy). The seating facilities and surroundings were clean/tidy and pleasing to the eye. As I left I found the rubbish bin was full and required emptying. If these points mentioned were rectified, then my grading would be easily at "very good". The place has lots of potential.

I stopped here for a break whilst on my way home the service area has plenty of parking for all vehicles but during the nigh trucks park where ever they want, Inside the building it is clean and the staff were alright

We thoroughly enjoyed our coffees and bacon baps in Costa. Lovely staff and lovely view outside to the pond with ducks! Good toilets, stacks of parking and the usual WHSmith and food stores too. All you need for an M6 pit-stop.

On a coach trip so stopped here for breakfast called at the GRAB &GO Expecting a nice english breakfast but guess what NO BACON and the scrambled egg tasted as if it was made the day before and no butter with the toast Very disappointing will not re-visit

Quite a large area with many choices for food or a drink. We went with the noodle shop as it was not overly busy and after having been stuck on the motorway after a horrific crash, for 3 hours, needed something fast. Turned out to be a very good choice. Food was served quickly and was filling as well as tasty.

Difficult visit with mother-in-law on crutches, her little dog and husband. Dog can't stay in car, had to tie dog to railings o balcony whilst managing mum, then walk her out to balcony to sit next to dog, then sort food. Very good Green Thai curry & Fish & chips. Taking dog for walk afterwards I found open entry to balcony area down an unmarked but clearly dog walking path - would have been so good if it had been sign posted!!!

First time ever in many visits that I was able to walk to the counter of Costa and place my order. I even took my own re-useable mugs to receive a 25p discount per drink. Quick service and a nice hot drink. All of theses service are well maintained and in my opinion not always as busy as the others.

Called into Tibshelf North service station which is part way to my destination. I normally eat at McDonald’s but fancied a change. I have never eating in a restaurant operated by Road-chef this is the first and last time I will eat in one their restaurants. The breakfast looked lovely on the pictures so I opted for the vegetarian option. What I received was beyond disgusting and certainly did not look anywhere like the picture of the beautiful looking cooked breakfast on the menu. Breakfast was made up of 1 dried overcooked hash brown, two vegetarian sausages that had clearly been microwaved were pale in colour and very chewy, one small cold mushroom, a few tasteless beans and one fried egg which was the only decent thing on the plate. With a cup of tea the total cost was a rip off price of £9.65. It may be Road-chefs business plan to serve appalling overpriced food to customers who will never spend a penny again with them. If Road-chef want to see what a value for money breakfast that’s keeps the customer coming back for more looks like they should try Morrisons’s cafe and maybe they would make more money than they do by ripping customers by serving overpriced pig swill. if you want to waste money in their restaurant on small portions of poorly cooked food cut out the middle man and flush your money straight down the toilet, alternatively eat at McDonald’s or find the nearest Morrisons for a decent reasonably priced cooked breakfast.

Stopping at days inn hotel conected to the services,food was tasty here good choice for breakfast and meals overall not bad friendly staff also

Great staff... Friendly and helpful ... Clean, large and comfy room at Days Inn... Meals tasty and fresh ... Plenty grassy areas to walk dogs

We stayed a night next door at the days inn and had an early start so a full English breakfast was ordered, they had just started serving so we were happy to wait for our meal and were told it would be brought to our table. We only waited minutes for what can only be described as an excellent cooked meal, fresh toast nothing was greasy, all well cooked and a really good cup of coffee as well. All the staff we encountered were very polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Although motorway service areas are expensive this was not over the top for a well cooked meal.

Was staying in the hotel next door to the welcome break and was very disappointed with the way staff were in the restaurant and McDonald's within the services. My little boy has autism n multiple food allergies so when going for breakfast I asked the guy on the station that served hot breakfasts could I have some bacon n bit bread for my son (explained his situ which I shouldn't have to) to watch him rip open bag of bread throw THREE slices of bread on a plate followed by some greasy fatty bacon and basically through it at us - to which my little boy said he wasn't eating it and I don't blame him the service and look of the food was appalling so handed it Then went to mcds and asked if they could maybe do my little lad 4 slices of grilled bacon to be greeted with a female manager who looked miserable and wasn't willing to help despite again explaining our situ told me I'd need to pay for two bacon roll meals £7.98 despite not needing rolls hash browns or the juice I told her that was ridiculous eventually with severe attitude she agreed to charge for one meal (baring in mind I was buying two other breakfast from them) by which point my little lad was upset and didn't eat it. People need to be mindful of people with disabilities and allergies this was a rather unpleasant experience for myself and my son and I would NEVER stop at this service station again.

Seats where ripped, men's toilet was well if you can swim it ok, hand dryer blew cold air. Ladies toilet was not much better. Good was ok, staff good.

Having stopped on northbound journey, we decided to us what we thought would be the same as we had experienced a couple of days previous. Southbound has a different collection of outlets, I didnt find it as airy or clean as the other side. It was OK for a break, but personally I was disappointed

Arrived starving to eat at 7.40pm ,Chinese section well closed,so tried to order gammon and chips, no chance we close at 8pm and we haven't any food left,go to other roadchef with these facilities,there open till at least 9 o clock,other people being turned away at the same time as me,this service is not good enough ,

These services are a nice contrast to the grimy offerings that are the norm. Very clean and modern with a picturesque water feature providing a pleasant outlook to the dining area. The staff were cheerful.

Stopped here and had bite to eat whilst traveling south. As services go, this one is quite good. Pleasant eating area with good selection of cafes.

My wife had the scampi and I cod, both with chips. A very fair price and prepared fresh quickly. The quality was a bit suspect and not that great, but if hungry, not much choice. £2.00 for a medium bottle of still water is ridiculous. Not Fair

Popped in for a quick lunchtime bite today. Meant to go to McDonalds but ended up in the Roadchef queue instead.

As a regular visitor to McDonalds nationwide, being a long distant lorry drive, I have over the years had numerous complaints about different McDonalds restaurants.

The Southbound services are very smart, this North bound is very scruffy, poorly laid out, the Costa had dirty cups and plates everywhere. Not impressed.
