Rice & P's Caribbean Cafe and Takeaway in Oldham

Food missing off order when I tried to ring them they repeatedly put the phone down or wouldn't even answer eventually they just took the phone of the hook so the call wouldn't go through, terrible customer service

I walked in and ordered at the location service was with a smile and very helpful too. I ordered the nasi goreng with chicken and rice ... fantastic flavours and taste was a really top class 👏 Also Malaysian Chicken Noodle again brilliant tasty and flavoursome Fast service great price and brilliant tasty food This is now my go to place definitely 👍 thank you for the Fantastic Food and service 😀 This is on Manchester Road near Werneth Park Oldham

Food was on point as usual. Pepper steak sooo good And the jerk chicken pieces 👌🏼 Thanks again can’t recommend enough. Best Caribbean food for a while

the food is to die for as the chicken is cooked just right and the service is so good you can feel like you connect with the owner as he prepares your food so you never really go to eat alone, and the Jamaican sauces is nice and hot/spicy just how it should be

Service was top notch, friendly atmosphere and the food just topped it off and you get a lot for how cheap it is. Very clean and I’ll definitely be going back

My fiancé and I was recommended this little Caribbean cafe last week by a relative. We decided to have lunch here this afternoon. Curried goat with rice and peas. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely recommend this establishment to my friends. Generous portions and full of flavour. Only £6.50 for what you see on the picture. If you read my other reviews then you understand that I only give my time to comment on places that I would recommend. If it’s not good then it’s not on my page. Delivery is also available. Visited this place a few times and it has never disappointed me, love the Jerk chicken my wife always has the stew and dumplings. The food always seems fresh, and the rice is done perfectly, don't understand the few comment's about it being bland. Well worth a visit

Quick bite... What rhymes with bite?? Absolute Sh... . Ordered curried goat after a few lagers. Biggest pile of goat bite I've ever tasted.

Curry goat love the place nice vibe and it's nice inside put some effort in go down with your mates sit round the table and the guy can't do enough for you

I have just returned home after ordering from this very friendly and quick takeaway service. Food tastes as the gentleman said it would. It was very delicious and my whole family enjoyed their evening meal. The gentleman advised well on first time triers of this type of food cuisine. I would advise anyone to give this takeaway a try! Me and my family will certainly try it again.

Un grupo de trabajo del Caribe tienen una obsesión de comida y comer cada viernes cena como un lujo. Nos quedaron devastadas cuando estábamos en un trabajo del día, ya que íbamos a perder nuestro Caribe pollo viernes! Pero luego nos enteramos arroz y P, que estaba a la vuelta de la esquina desde el lugar. Así que decidimos darlo una turbina. Y vaya que nos alegramos de haberlo hecho.

Mi favorita de lejos para llevar! Siempre la misma comida pollo al curry y siempre es precioso. El servicio amistoso y acogedor, sin duda recomendaría este hotel.

It's not like the Jamaicans you go and it's the chicken coated with a sauce, the food is marinated how it should be... I thought I'd comment being a regular, being Jamaican myself I appreciate good Jamaican takeaways when I find them (shame I don't know how to cook it.. ) Cheap prices from 4.50 for a small, and 5.50 for a large all including rice and peas, whereas others can be expensive.. or chain run like turtle bay.. this seems to be a family run place, with great customer service eat in or takeaway..

Rice n ps great carribean take away located in oldham (best in oldham) great food great people 5star. I recommend anyone to get the curry chicken made to perfection and presented really professionally. You can't miss it :)

I never write reviews normally ..... Mainly because I can't be bothered but having just got back from Rice n Peas I'm particularly irritated. When this place first opened me and my partner tried it as we really love Caribbean food. The service was good, nothing special, but the food was not good. Over a year later I decided to give it a go again but this time I decided to order something small, just incase. I ordered half boiled rice half chips and curried sauce and a dumplin. When I got home I was not impressed. The rice was rice and peas, I don't like kidney beans, and it was hard as though it hard been there awhile. The sauce was bland and little of it, there was plenty of burnt goat meat, which I never asked for I just wanted sauce! All that for £5.50. Shame oldham could do with a decent Caribbean place, I'l stick to Buzzrocks in Moston!

Friendly service, and delicious authentic Carrabean cuisine. I've travelled all around Jamaica and been to Dominican Republic, and the menu is typical of the area. I had jerk chicken and plantain, I can't say enough good things about it. Great portion sizes too. Can't wait for my next visit to try something else.

Just love this place it's the most amazing Caribbean food that we have had .There is a table so we usually pick the little on from school and eat in, and you always get service with a smile and great value , we will be back soon x

this place reminded me of something I'd see on Anthony Bourdain's no reservations, it's one of those local places you just have to know about. The food was tasty, filling and good value, the servings of rice and veg were generous. I'm definitely gonna be back.

Excellent and friendly service. The food is a delight to eat. If you are a lover of west African/Caribbean food- or just food in general, then this is the place to be!! Personally I recommend the curried goat + steam veg; absolutely delicious!

I found this place by pure accident but we will definately be back for more, I had acckee and salt fish which was out of this world, my son had chicken curry rice and peas....he cleared the plate ( a first). The service was friendly and was made to feel very welcome......see you very soon, we will be regular customers.

Ordered a selection of hot food from the menu after consulting with Paul the owner/manager. I asked for enough to feed ten people. Boy did he come up trumps.!!!! The food was absolutely delicious . . . Delivered at the arranged time . . .every single bit was eaten and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Rice & p's had been recommended but it was only after sampling the goods that my group really appreciated the very high standard of the catering. Thank you so much for making the evening one to remember. Hope the business keeps going from strength to strength.

Did not want to cook after a busy day shopping so decided to get a takeaway. This place was recommended to me so decided to try it. My husband was dubious about the menu but LOVED the food. The place was so clean, inviting and the service second to none. It really does deserve the 5* rating it has been given!! Will definitely return for more.

Big respect to this little Jamaican takeaway for the tastiest jerk chicken and rice and peas I've ever had!And I've got to add how friendly and helpful the chef was, and only to pleased to let me have a small taster of new food I wasn't sure about.The food was packed with flavour with a hint of spice!!! Love it and will be returning very soon.

Whenever working in Oldham I visit this place and I am never disappointed by the standard of the food at Rice and P's - quaint place, friendly staff, but most of all delicious homecooked food, never fails to disappoint and reasonably priced too. Just read the comment below and I am surprised by its content - the food is second to none! definitely be back.

I had a very busy day and just did not feel like cooking. A friend suggested that I order a take away meal from this café. I ordered the the brown stew tilapia with some sweet potato, and thought I would try the guiness punch. I asked for the order to be delivered around 7pm. It was there on the dot, delivered by a very personable young man. The food was lovely and hot and very well presented. Can't fault the food or the service in any way. As for the price......could not have made it any cheaper myself!! Long may this shop continue to operate.......what a find.....wow!!! Have since popped into the café and was very impressed to see the 5* hygiene rating. Have recommended it to my work colleague and family.

Ordered from here a couple of weeks ago, it was quite late when we went in and the food we wanted wasn't available. Instead the man behind the counter said we'd have to have what was left and heat it up ourselves! I understand that food was sold out but there was no reason he should be serving cold food to heat yourselves and yet still charge full price for it.

Really glad I found this place. Tasty, fresh, home cooked food. A real find ! Highly recommend a visit. Family run and great value for money. I will definitely be back.

Enjoyed the curried chicken and ginger tea at Rice and P's On Saturday - friendly staff, cosy place, excellent food, presently nicely. This place is one of the best kept secrets in Greater Manchester. Highly recommended.

I stumbled across Rice and P's last week and what a find it is......delicious homecooked Caribbean food, lovely place, polite and friendly staff, family run, and nicely priced. I would definitely recommend this eatery.The curried steak is amazing and the guiness punch is the tastiest drink I have ever had. Definitely recommend this place.

Jerk chicken mmmmmmmmmmmmm. To die for........had this for dinner last night. The food is so tasty. Just rang my order through to the shop and spoke to the manager who said he would deliver within the half hour. True to his word......nicely packaged .....no slopping around. I would definitely say that this is the place for a true Caribbean meal. Would recommend it to everybody. Why cook when a delicious meal can be delivered to your door and at such a reasonable price. Have been to the shop before so thought I would give the home delivery a try. 10/10

I visited Rice and P's with my young son and I have to say that i had the tastiest curried steak accompanied with rice and peas. I have never commented on this site about an eatery before, but the food was so tasty and memorable that i thought I would share this hidden delight with other readers/visitors ot Oldham/Manchester. Food can be eaten in or taken away. We elected to eat our meal in the cafe and it was warm, cosy and the atmosphere friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Loved it......curried goat, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Will be back for more. Had the homemade strawberry and cream sponge cake as well......what a treat!!!
