Rice & Noodles in West Lothian

I have used Rice & Noodles for a while and have never been disappointed. However, on 21/02/25 I placed an order early and received it promptly. The food seemed to lack in taste and the curry was bland lacking in any spices. I ate the prawns and left everything else. Later in the night feeling unwell I spent most of the night in the bathroom. I am very disappointed as I have always used Rice & Noodles now I fear I won't. I may call to tell them of my experience.

Tried this Chinese for the first time, and unfortunately, it will be the last. Every dish was poor—even the rice was undercooked, which is a basic expectation. The prawn crackers were terrible, and overall, the meal was just disappointing. Definitely not worth the £31 spent. Would not recommend.

Been going to rice and noodles for years, got a delivery last Saturday, salt and pepper chicken was massive bits and absolutely disgusting. Thick soft noodles were definitely not soft, hard as a brick and completely dry and stuck together. Called up tonight to find out it’s under new management. Such a shame, as the reputation is now going to be ruined.

Black bean was inedible. Far too salty! Everything else was very nice though.

Food came cold and they missed one dish from the order, contacted the restaurant and it took over an hour for them to bring the missing food

I know its a busy/stressful time of year but I use this takeaway a lot and rave about it, food tonight was stone cold and the delivery driver was a miserable git… very unlike the usual other guys who are fantastic

awful, every single item of food was stone cold, chips were hard and looked as though they were reheated, curry sauce was gloopy, tofu was burnt. Absolute waste of £52.00, waiting to hear from just eat.

food was stone cold had to heat up in the microwave, but even that did not really solve the problem, as the foods quality wasn’t great. The food was also soggy, and the curry sauce was congealed as it had clearly been sat for a while after ready, did not enjoy my food and I paid a considerable amount for it. Disappointed is an understatement as the food from here is usually very good. All in all, the food was cold and soggy, and I did not enjoy it

Shocking service had to call them twice no phone call no sorry the food was cold abysmal service .

Got the wrong type of ribs, even though the bag said different. Not happy.

Chicken chow mein was the worst I've ever had. usually order it elsewhere but from here it was plain and flavourless. no soy sauce in it, was just plain noodles and chicken. ordered a coke and got come zero which isn't a big deal however it's not what I ordered. wouldn't order again

Food arrived quickly, I did order the meal with a sweet n sour sauce but it definitely didn’t taste of that and more like the lemon sauce so the meal was swiftly disposed. Unfortunately I wouldn’t order from them again.

Don’t mind waiting longer on food on a Saturday night but it was all cold….unfortunate

while the food was nice it either wasn't what I ordered or they changed how they make the Kung po chicken.

waiting well over an hour , noodles came all stuck together along with rice , worse “chinese” I’ve ever tried , won’t be back! Funny smell coning from the noodles and other containers

I order from here often & have no issues normally. Today however, it arrived lukewarm so it wasn’t very good 😔

The food is always delicious and is always quicker to arrive than first expected. I highly recommend Rice and Noodles.

egg fried rise was clumpy/stogy as if it hadn't been stirred when cooking, burnt edges, cold in the middle as if frozen, inedible. shredded chicken again as if it had been frozen and reheated, with fresh at the bottom and old at the top, taste difference between the two. chicken and sweetcorn soup tasted of pepper only with no chicken meat found, was left in finished. the mini rolls were nice. free prawn crackers were stale and inedible. v disappointed, won't be back

Normally love rice and noodles but chicken was so slimy today and soup didn’t have much liquid at all. Ended up throwing it away. Hoping just a one off as it’s normally 10 outta 10.

Organized a timed order. Got a notification 20 mins before order time that order was out for delivery. By the time I got it the chips were so soggy and paper bag ripped. Prawn crackers were stale. Chicken fried rice and the chow mien were both nice. A let down considering it’s our first order from here. Actually ordered because of the good reviews. Overall disappointing.

Munchie box was disappointing. It was cooked well but for £16 I'd have expected more. The box was filled with chips and the other components were skimpy.

Received our order within the stated time. When we opened the containers, it was not for the items we had ordered. When we advised we were told the kitchen had made the wrong food. We were advised it would be made and sent out. We believe the food was made but was also delivered to someone else, the food was not remade, was cold on arrival and not very appealing

I have found my new favourite Chinese in Livingston amazing curry

Ordered salt & chilli chips, they were awful. Had no chilli whatsoever, just tasted like normal chips with salt. Onions were burnt and i couldn’t even eat any of it. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Use this place alot but food tonight was garbage , rice burnt most of the meal went in the bin dont think i will be back

I placed the order around 17:30 delivered at 20:00. I Got refunded £5 for the delay. When it finally arrived, the food we ordered was all right. The sweet and sour chicken was more on the sour side, and the King Prawn fried rice was more boiled than fried, including the prawns.

we use Rice and noodles a lot. They are our favourite. Correction, they were our favourite. The food this time was very poor, king prawn curry was powdery with a good bit of oil resting on the top and the salt and spicy chicken and chips tasted like normal chicken and chips only the chips weren't really cooked through. Very disappointing indeed

Until tonight this was one of my favourite places to eat but not sure I'd go back. I ordered duck with orange sauce and fried rice along with salt and pepper chicken and crab soup. The duck was mine and other than a slight taste of duck and some fat, you would think it was chicken strips. The taste was very bland and have had more taste from a jar. As it came to £25 prawn crackers should have accompanied it....was really looking forward to them, but they weren't there. Apparently they were when they left the shop, wonder where they ended up? So all in all, very disappointed 😞

Food is always decent from this place, without being exceptional. Generally quick delivery though which is definitely a plus, and the order is rarely wrong.

Curry was nice, chow mein was okay but that's it. Food was late even with an extension which would have been fine if food was hot. Delivery apparently left 19.30 however didn't arrive till 20.25, meant all the food was luke warm and needed heat up. Although prawn crackers were free, they were mainly stale and could bend then. Ribs were quite bland seemed ribs with just covered in a loose bbq sauce

Never disappointed, been my go to chinese when at home for a long time now.

Order came really quickly and all the food was hot :) there was an item missing but after a wee call to the takeaway it was delivered in less than 10 minutes. Lovely as usual :)

Was probably the worst we’ve had from here. My Schezaun was a bit overpowered with garlic and my wife ordered chicken & mushroom but got beef 🤔 She also said it was a bit bland.

Chicken sweetcorn soup was awful. It was warm but tasteless and then the chicken satay was so spicy and more like a spicy curry. It wasn’t tasty at all nothing like chicken satay. Prawn crackers were soggy and disgusting too.

Rice was wet,over cooked and had no taste. I had a voucher to use so glad I didn’t pay full price. The other full container of chicken fried rice went in the bin.

Food wasn’t great. Couldn’t even eat the chips! Shocking. Chicken was solid aswell. Very disappointed.

Im sorry to say that but at over £60 I was expecting a good 3 people dinner. It took the max time of 90 min for the food to arrive. Starters platter was bone dry and rolling in salt. Chicken with cashews was good but blunt, satay chicken was way too spicy and watery at the same time. Beef was ok. Overall really not worth the price and disappointing.

I normally enjoy ordering from this place but tonight I feel really let down. My order was showing as ‘on way’ for ages before the delivery driver actually got here with my food. I even had to call the restaurant as was wondering if there was a problem with my delivery. Needless to say my food was cold! Not sure what on earth he was doing before coming to me, considering I live a 5 min drive away! The chicken was 3/4 sauce that was basically like water. The chicken overdone and like chewing a leather boot. The chips were stone cold. Everything went in the bin. Disgraceful

As ever the food was amazing! The food was slightly delayed, but they were so apologetic due to staffing issues. Always my go to place!
