What a lovely surprise to find this quaint tea room - so reminiscent of Betty’s of Harrogate - in Bushey. We were served by polite waitresses in black dresses with white pinafores. Afternoon tea was an experience and the lunch menu was tempting. Afterwards walk around the adjacent gardens complete with a mulberry tree. limited opening hours so booking is advised. Easy parking.

We popped along for a quick reckie with a view to book for afternoon tea at a later date. We were so lucky and managed to get a table for a short time for lunch......you do need to book. Everything is wonderful the room the styling the food and mostly the staff who are so welcoming and helpful sadly lacking in most places these days. Have booked for Royal Tea to take our 93 year old mother who will love it undoubtedly. Take a amble around the garden which is also a delight to work off some of the lovely food.

This was my first time at this tea room but I am already looking forward to going again. It was the venue for my Partner’s mother’s 80th birthday tea and it really was fantastic. The sandwiches were freshly made and were very tasty, the scones were among the best that I have ever eaten and the cakes and pastries were excellent too. There were also some chocolate covered strawberries that were very tasty. Overall this is one of the best afternoon teas I have ever had and is better than many of the teas that I have had at some of the well known venues in central London. If you live in the area or are just visiting then it is a must visit place if you like afternoon tea. Please be aware that it is not open every day and that you have to book, you cannot just turn up. Finally, a word of praise for the staff who were professional, helpful and very friendly and they made the experience a very good one.

Visited for fathers day and had a lovely cream tea. This place has great opportunities to do more. It has a great location and affluent local clientele it really should have a professional management team to make it a top quality restaurant. Great tea but what potential

The Cafe is in the Victorian house of the Chewett family who played a fascinating role in the development of Toronto. House and exhibition will be of particular interest to Canadians or those familiar with Toronto today. The house and grounds are managed by Bushey Museum with friendly volunteers around to answer questions. When we went they had an event and house tours were very popular. Gardens are well loved and wildlife friendly. Highlight is the vegetable garden with many traditional varieties of fruit bushes and vegetables.

Delightful Victorian/EdwardIan style complete with waitresses appropriately dressed. Similar service to The Ritz but not such lush surroundings, and a more affordable tariff. Making a lovely afternoon for family and friends.

Rarely have we been to a new venue which gets everything right. What a surprise today and right 'on our doorstep' Tasty, well presented food in an 'old fashioned' but comfortable atmosphere - lunch and tea and such a large choice. All serving staff were delightful, everything was tasty and fresh. The gardens - 2 1/2 acres - are beautiful and full of surprises and comfortable benches.. Booking is advisable as the standard is so high.

A birthday high tea was the occasion of our visit to this unexpected delight. Service and refreshment were impeccable in a setting both fascinating and comfortable. The restaurant, in a former billiards room, was furnished comfortably, and decorated with paintings some of which were done in the very room, and others in the adjoining house. Tea, cakes, sandwiches and scones were presented in splendidly authentic "vintage" bone china. There was a wide choice of tea. Nothing was too much trouble for the personable and attentive staff, who greeted us as welcome guests rather than mere customers, ensuring that our visit was relaxed and enjoyable. The garden is attractive, too. For a treat in Bushey, not to be missed!

We love this small well-manicured garden and tea room. Lots of year-round care goes into keeping the gardens interesting and attractive and the antique tea-room setting is also very special. Keep up the great work Rory!

I recently booked the tea room for my birthday ,I had have picked the Reveley Lodge which is also known as Mabel's Vintage Tea Room ,because we had been to tea there before and found the food , service and setting to be ideal for a private party we had been before for tea , apart from teas you can hire the room for private tea parties the whole experience was excellent , the quality of the food was first class the service was excellent ,and nothing was too much trouble I had 28 guests and every thing went very smoothly , it was a pleasure in booking and in dealing with Martine the owner , I recommend that you visit and enjoy tea with home made cakes the house and gardens

The tea room staff were all very friendly and accommodating and treated everyone with real warmth. The interior decoration was very quaint. The whole feel of the place is like being transported back to the Victorian era with the waitresses wearing a black pinafore. The house has guided tours and I would really recommend this. The gardens are typical country garden style and not what you would expect in a 'back garden' in Bushey. They have lots of events which are definitely worth attending and then go and have a cup of tea and a slice of delicious homemade cake. You really need to book as the tea room is only open Thursday and Saturday unless there is an event on.

Why haven’t I heard of this place before? Honestly, the best cup of coffee I've had in years. Amazing place. You can really tell the owners are passionate about delivering a super high standard offer. Blows the chains out of the water! Well done guys.

The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The staff were so kind when our daughter dropped her hot chocolate - they gave us another one for free and made sure it was cool enough for her to drink. Thank you. We loved the outdoor seating area. So cosy.

We hired the smaller private room for a family tea to celebrate a special birthday. There were 15 of us, grandparents, parents and children. From the start of our relationship with Mabel's administrator, Martine, discussions flowed easily - price, one glutenfree guest, one vegetarian, lots of details - nothing was too much trouble. On the day there was plenty to eat - sandwiches, scones, cakes and a drinks bar with prosecco. Sara, our waitress, was a star, making sure everyone had everything we wanted including extra cups of tea or coffee. Everyone enjoyed the relaxing informal event. The room was full of Victoriana and the children loved the experience and also the opportunity to explore the garden (with adult supervision). Our family tea at Mabel's was everything we wanted for our special day. Huge thanks to Martine and Sara for all their beautiful hospitality and care.
