Restaurant at Strathaven Hotel in South Lanarkshire

We've visited this restaurant a few times, making use of their "Loyalty For Locals" card giving us 10% discount. Even without the discount card it's always good value for money. We visited again recently. As always never disappointed. But this time the food and service excelled. The standout dish was a starter from the "Specials" menu on Sunday, the "Pork Belly Chunks" starter, the pork belly complete with it's sauce absolutely hit the spot, an inspired creation, it was delicious. The best we've had here and possibly the best starter we've had anywhere. Washed down with the red Paarl Heights Shiraz. We've visited on and off for years, back when the restaurant used to be located on the right as you enter the front door, these days now a function room, and for the last several years now the restaurant is on the left where they extended into it's current location. All very well done and the restaurant just seems to go from strength to strength. We've never had a bad meal here but our recent visit was especially good. Thanks are due to manager Adam and all of his staff. Many thanks. We hope to return again soon.

Firstly I’d like to say don’t eat here. I did put a review on a month ago and it’s funny how my review has disappeared from this site…. I looks like they can’t take bad press. Four of us went for an evening meal, 2 of us had fist and chips and they were sent back twice. The fish and chips were so over cooked that the fish snapped when you tried to cut it and the chips were the same as they bounced off the plate. We complained again and decided not to eat in the end as it was disgusting. The both two ordered burger and chips, the burger wasn’t too bad, slightly over cooked but the chips were also hard and black. Service was just as bad, meals came at different times, could get condiments even though we asked several times, we asked for Watford our dog and it arrived as we left. Overall it was rubbish and won’t go again. Don’t be dis allusioned by the good reviews because I can’t believe they are true.

Delighted to find this restaurant very welcoming and friendly. The service and food were fantastic and I wouldn't think twice about visiting again.

i was apprehensive about eating out after only just been diagnosed as gluten intolerant but the experience at the strathaven hotel was excellent. i didn’t have to ask or make a fuss as the very friendly server came straight over and went over the menu choices that would be suitable for me and what alternatives they could provide. i ended up having the same as my friend and the food we all had was first class. i would definitely go back and have no hesitation to recommend.

Visited to celebrate my inlaws Diamond Wedding anniversary meal. The food was great, staff very nice welcoming and helpful. We did not stay in hotel as live nearby. All enjoyed food and noone was rushed to leave.We had use of a room off main restuarant solely for our use

Substantial menu with good food choices and reasonable wine list. Breakfast is also worth trying with good selection available.

I spent an afternoon here with three friends and we all enjoyed a delicious meal, beautifully presented. The restaurant is bright and airy and there is also an outdoor seating area. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

Really delicious food with high quality produce. I had the gorgeous carrot and coconut soup followed by the tastiest lamb I have ever eaten. Great service and a warm atmosphere.

Booked lunch and got a booth which was lovely and clean and well spaced from all the other tables. Hand gel on arrival. Ordered the Pate for starters, and the Chicken Ceasar Salad for mains, which was amazing as always. Staff so friendly.

We experienced the Strathaven Hotel Home Dining menu, 3 course with a bottle of wine. Easy to order over the phone and collected at a time to suit. LENTIL & HAM HOCK SOUP slow cooked ham hock, winter vegetables, red lentils, chopped parsley CHICKEN BALMORAL chicken breast, haggis mousse, Parma ham, carrot purée, dauphinoise potatoes, shaped vegetables, Arran mustard, whisky jus STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING toffee sauce Very tasty meal and filling too 🙌

The Hotel has been upgraded to a very high standard by the owner and he is to be found there everyday often with his wife and family. A fantastic asset to the town for functions, food and drink. A beautiful place to stay with well thought out decor. The food is fantastic with a varied and interesting menu.

The Strathaven Hotel Restaurant is top quality with great menu, great food, great service . Well worth a visit, we’ll be back.

Went for a table for three family dinner tonight. Lamb Rump, House Salad with Chicken, Salmon Filet special...Brownie and Ice Cream. All superb and a great location with great food. Highly recommended.

Not sure where the reviews have disappeared to! Went for the first time since the re-opened in this "new normal" world. Very good COVID-19 compliance. Food and service are both excellent.
