Relish Cheese And Wine in Wigan

Me encantaba este lugar. Muy decepcionado con el vino que nos sirvieron. Una botella de Rioja que cuesta £ 8. 50 de Tescos y nos cobraron £ 25. Cuando pedimos una botella de un Cabernet Sauvignon no tenían ninguno. Y nosotros. Pedí un Rioja y sacaron este. Dios diga que la comida era encantadora, pero definitivamente necesito hacer más investigación sobre el vino

Este lugar realmente es una joya escondida en el centro de Wigan, buen ambiente, gran selección de platos, buen vino y anfitriones atentos. He visitado varias veces y lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Gran música, mejor comida y vino. Parece que estamos en Grecia. Me encantan los anfitriones. Sigue con el buen trabajo. Vibras frías. Preparándose para semanas de trabajo por delante. Os quiero a los dos xxx

Four of us ate here on Friday 3rd May, and what an awesome place to eat. Great service, great banter and great food. Lovely owner chose our cheeses for us, and they did not disappoint. If you're in Wigan, please give this place a go, you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality and value of food and drinks.

First experience at Relish but definitely won't be the last.Great food, wine and atmosphere. Alison and Rob made us feel at home and this is definitely a little gem. Hoping to return, last bank holiday in May😘

Lovely little wine bar, great atmosphere and delicious platters. We booked the mother's day package and was enjoyed by all. The owners are lovely and friendly, great place to visit in Wigan with friends and family. Lovely outside area to enjoy nice wine 🍷 when the weather gets warmer.

I really liked the relaxed atmosphere here. It was busy when we went, but not at all noisy and the background music was great (Northern Soul). It has a really nice vibe - lovely lighting and quite an intimate, cosy feel. We had a sharing board and some other plates and the food was nice, especially the cheese! They happened to have my favourite wine (by the bottle) and let me order a glass which was a very nice touch. Staff were super friendly and very helpful re: Vegan and GF options. I will definitely go back when I'm in Wigan.

Went there yesterday coffee was cold food average when the greek fella had it was really good food wouldn't go here again

Brilliant - we called in, yesterday, for the first time since the new owners took over. Alison and her partner were every bit as welcoming as the previous owners. Great selection of wines, the nibbles were excellent and the garden area is stunning. Well done guys - keep up the good work - we'll definitely be back 👍😁💖

We’ve been here a few times and it’s now under new management but no drop in quality. Still great service, fabulous wines and lovely food. We had the large cheese and meat platter with some extra sides. Got to choose each cheese and all were wonderful, we even ordered 4 more cheeses. Wine was wonderful and fairly priced. Great friendly, service! Would recommend.

Visited today for the first time . Such a lovely chilled experience. Food was fantastic, service brilliant. Allison was such a great host . My new favourite place . The outside space is amazing. Give it a try , you won't be disappointed. 😁

We have been here a couple of times now , the food is fantastic, we have always had the platters. The quality of the food is really good, the service attentive and helpful but not too much. They make a lovely sangria and have a nice selection of wines too. It's a great place to sit out in the small bit shaded garden and take your time sharing great food with friends. Well worth a visit

Always a good welcome, always great food in nice surroundings with lovely people. If I ever get out of my flat, then this will be my first port of call.

We tried here for a date night after a friend’s recommendation. From the minute we got there I felt so relaxed. All the staff was so friendly and helpful. what can I say Tracey and Yiannis were amazing host and very accomodating for our group they came in on Wednesday and opened up specialy for our group and they were so helpful and supporting members of our group who had disabilitys with the menu and explained everything nothing was any trouble for them and made everyone in the group relaxed the food, wine was amazing everyone had a really grate Christmas party thanks Tracey and Yiannis

This is a bar that you'd love so comfortable and friendly the owners go out of there way to make u feel welcome impromptu things go on and your always looked after it's a proper establishment food is 1st class aswell

We loved this place. I'd searched for a cheese place before visiting Wigan and this place didn't disappoint. The wine and cheese recommendations were fantastic. If we lived around here they would definitely have our return business. 10/10 for sure!

I've never been spoken to like this in a restaurant...unbelievable....we went because we want to support local businesses in Wigan...but I'll never return here and will make sure I tell others...appalling...

The bar has a lovely atmosphere and I had so been so very excited to visit. Turns out you're not allowed to read the menu and change your mind about wanting to order food without being told off by the owner. Absolutely disgusted with how I've been spoken to and won't be returning. Don't give your money to this place. Go to the Mexican in town. They're far nicer there. Waste of time here. The food wasn't very nice and the house wine was as poor as the attitude of the owner.

Exquisite toooooo! Delicious wine by the jug, which is not easy to find here, and really of very good quality. The chopped cheeses and cold cuts are also exquisite. We will be back! And we recommend it!

Great food great wine and such friendly owners made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door to the minute you leave . We have only had the takeaway platters before we visited on Sunday afternoon . We didn't think it could have been any better but the friendly service and to eat in the garden made us feel like we was on holiday in a Greek taverna the food was great well presented and cooked to perfection Well done keep up the great work 👍

I love coming here and sitting outside the back, it has some cover and heaters so it’s good even when it rains. Nice selection of wine by the bottle, lovely little tapas style dishes in addition to the cheese selection. Yiannis and Tracy are great hosts and always make us feel welcome.

Having read the reviews here, I gave it a go for some relaxed wine and cheese-related food. It really is a hidden gem (as other have also described it). We sat in the outdoor area which was really pleasant especially with the weather being pretty mild. Service was very friendly and helpful and the menu selections were really great. Good quality all round and highly recommend! 😊

A works do. We sat at front of the restaurant. It's a bigger eatery than it looks from outside. We enjoyed the food .I had a 4 cheese platter with crackers, bread, pickle and grapes but there were 6 cheese platters ,a vegan atter and others with meat.

Cannot recommend Relish enough, lovely food and drink, beautiful decor, and the owners are just so nice and friendly.

Super friendly wine bar with a great selection of food. Mostly small sharing platters, but all home made. Different specials every week. Cosy atmosphere inside, with a super outdoor garden space to relax in. Hosts cannot do enough to make you genuinely welcome. I’d recommend you book, as the venue already has a great reputation and is very popular. Offers vegan and vegetarian options too. Great wine selection. Beers on tap and bottle.

Wigan’s secret, little Gem! Be mysteriously transported from Wigan to Greece, as you step through the door. Always a warm welcome and awesome food.

The staff are the sweetest people you will ever meet and the food was delicious!! My friend and I came just as it was about to close, but the owner was sweet enough to let has have a meal. We ordered the vegetarian platter and it was heavenly. I remember asking for an iced coffee (something they didn’t have on the menu) and the owner made me one himself free of charge!!! I remember thinking the whole experience was surreal!! Please come and visit!!! It was definitely worth it.

Good food, lovely, friendly service - great place to eat and drink

Bijou, but attractive, comfortable and unique wine bar. Serving a range of vegetarian dishes, breads and relishes, all homemade. They offer a variety of cheeseboards to have with a large range of wines. The cheapest is large glass of Sauvignon Blanc at £4. Open Thurs, Fri, Sat - 10:30 am till 10 pm. I would highly recommend, food was delicious.

A really special place tucked away in historic Hallgate, offering an interesting wine list, a very tasty cheese selection and a tempting menu of small plates and snacks. They do offer beer and spirits, but the focus is on wine. The space is quite small and quirkily shaped, with a few tables in the main room and a cosy bar area running down towards the back. It has a colourful and eclectic décor that I love, reminiscent of traditional Mediterranean cafés but with an artistic feel. The hosts are lovely, always warm and welcoming, and look after their customers extremely well. All that plus the mellow and friendly atmosphere makes Relish a great place to go with a group of friends or alone, whether for an evening out, a light bite or just a nice chill-out after work! Highly recommended.

I've wanted to try Relish for a while now and was not disappointed. It's a nice, cozy little place with a kind of Mediterranean feel to it that puts you at ease and helps you to relax and enjoy your evening. Yiannis and Tracy are perfect hosts. When ordering drinks to start, Tracey had a quick chat about our particular tastes and brought a couple of small samples of wine to try before placing our orders. When it came to the food, Tracey was able to advise on the range of started on offer and describe what we should expect for each. Needles to say, each of the plates we ordered was beautifully presented and more importantly, delicious. The reason we went to Relish though was for the cheese selection. When the time came to order I was taken to the cheese counter where Yiannis and Tracey talked me through the range of cheeses on offer. They are both clearly very knowledgeable about the products they have on offer and helped me to select a platter that would suit everbody's tastes and also all compliment each other. Served with a selection of biscuits, fruit and home made artisan breads, the cheese platter we were served was absolute heaven, especially if you're a cheese lover like me. Just one last comment on the background music. I don't usually pay much attention to music in bars and restaurants. It's mostly bland, middle of the road stuff chosen to be as inoffensive as possible but Yiannis' selection of Bowie, Rolling Stones, Lou Reed, etc al couldn't have been better if I'd been allowed to pick my own soundtrack for the evening. All in all, a wonderfully evening and I can't wait to go back for more.
