Ragin' Ramen in Belfast

Really sweet decor and friendly staff. Had the beef ramen, edamame and the K-pop chicken. Was so delicious. Highly recommend

The ramen is really delicious, and the drinks are great too. Prices are a bit higher than in other similar places, but the taste definitely makes up for it! One thing though — there are so few tables. If you don’t make a reservation on the weekend, chances are you won’t get in.

I have always really liked Ragin Ramen and think their vegan ramen options and sides are delicious and I always really enjoy the laid back, steamy windows vibe of the restaurant. On my last visit though, I left a little concerned about the food hygiene practices. During our meal, the ceiling above the first floor eating area started to leak through with water onto me. It was only dripping through and wasn’t a big deal. The waiters seemed aware of the issue and hastily moved me and invited me behind the bar to wash my hands and dry off. When behind the upstairs bar, I saw “behind the curtain” and was concerned to see cleaning equipment, some dirty dishes and glasses and a large Tupperware box filled with precooked pork fillets/ pork bellies tied up in cooking string. There were probably 7 or 8 large pieces of precooked meat just sitting in a tub without a lid, in behind a messy bar, not refrigerated. Maybe this was going to be disposed of, or maybe served the next day to an unknowing customer… It felt a bit Kitchen Nightmares and I expected Ramsay to pop out going “Look at that! What is that? When was that cooked?” Also probably need to fix that leaky ceiling and maybe comp drinks or something when your roof leaks onto a customer eating their meal. This part was less of a concern though. I did love the place but I’m hesitant to return now.

I had very high expectations and came away somewhat disappointed. The noodles were very good and absorbed the flavor very well, the egg was super well prepared as well. The broth, however, was a little bland, and the meat, although delicious, is not what you would expect from a ramen. The breaded pumpkin is delicious, yes. Another thing is that it took a while for them to serve us. I recommend booking or you may have to wait in line until a Monday. I like that the menu is quite small. There is no need to order more than the ramen because the portions are quite generous. Very friendly staff. A little expensive. I don't think I'll repeat it, everything was delicious but I didn't like it as ramen.

The Ramen used to be so good but on Thursday it was so salty for all 4 of us and was missing the entire flavor. Earlier they used to be so good. Very disappointing experience. Never going back again!

Worst Ramen in UK we ordered 3 ramen noodles all of them are cold. Will never go back to this if last restaurant open in Belfast

Probably the best ramen place I've ever been to.

Prefect lunch on a raw rainy day. The broth is excellent (key to a good ramen) and the staff are lovely.

Great service, staff were very pleasant and informed. Our server was able to explain what various items on the menu were and to suggest choices based on out tastes. Food was delicious portions were large and our order for four arrived quite quickly. Excellent place to eat, we will be back whenever we can.

First time visiting here after long last. Well worth it! The ramen was absolutely delicious. Wonderful flavours and fresh ingredients. The menu had just the right amount of choice and we also got a side of curly fries which were also well worth it. Didn’t catch the name of the lovely guy serving us but he was great! Will be back again soon.

My partner absolutely loves this place, so we went to try it out together. My overall impression was meh. The broth was meh. The chicken was meh. It is not suitable for those who do not like to eat skin or fat, and I do think they should mention this somewhere on the menu or when ordering. I had a really hard time separating the fatty bits out from the meat. And there is literally just one option if you're looking for chicken. I am not sure what the great reviews are all about, maybe the vegan ones are better. It is also on the expensive side!

Came here by accident and was so pleased we did. They use a digital queuing system so we were able to leave and come back 15 minutes later when a table was available. Brilliant range of food and catering to lots of dietary requirements. I got one of the two vegan ramens and was so impressed by how flavourful it was. My girlfriend got a pork ramen and she also commented on how delicious it was. We were both so full we had to go back to our hotel to sleep! The staff were friendly and gave suggestions from the menu. Service was not added automatically (seeing a rise in this Americanisation across the UK) but we were more than happy to top them for the quality service. Definitely worth visiting.

The food tasted so good here! I had the Astro Boy (char sui pork chunks) and it was really good. The Tokyo twizlers were also good, and partner liked the soy egg in the raijin one.

Terrible experience this evening at Ragin Raman. We waited in the foyer as indicated, while staff went back and forth without a glance. Finally we were approached and we asked if we could get a table for two. The waiter almost laughed at us saying if we had no booking it would be 45 minutes wait and he turned away before he got our reply and said good luck. It was 630 on a Thursday evening. He was so rude, I was stunned. We have had similar rude service here in the past. We will not be back and highly recommend that others do the same.

What a wonder experience I had this week! I popped in during a shopping day in Belfast. From the welcoming staff, to the beautiful food- I recommend this place to all my friends. Perfect place to stop off and people watch while getting good grub- oh and solo traveller friendly!😋

Hands down the best vegan ramen I've had in Ireland. I've never had anything like it, the smoked tofu was delicious and the broth had so much flavour packed into it (and didn't just rely on miso like vegan ramen broths in Ireland often do!). Only disappointment is that I live in Dublin and can't come here more! Staff are all absolutely lovely too.

The food was good, but overpriced. The ramen stock was flavorful, though the pork chashu was just okay. However, we had to wait over 30 minutes after placing our order. The service was rude, and a service charge was added to our bill.

Super delicious ramen with great drinks options! We had a bowl of ramen and a cocktail each. The raging margarita was pretty spicy but my spritzee cocktail was absolutely delicious! The Astro Boy ramen had crispy pork pieces as the topping and it was the bomb, super crunchy and yummy! Perfect cooked ramen noodles with delicious soup! The portion was also very generous and I was so full (my husband did really love his Sailor Moon ramen and ordered extra noodles for a little bit more). We got a high table in the front of the shop and the chair was slightly uncomfortable with my feet hanging off and tight space next to the other couple 😔 Overall, a great spot for delicious ramen and cocktails!

After such a great time with my friend here a few weeks ago I wanted to take my boyfriend. However, the service was honestly shocking tonight. We had a really abrupt encounter upon arriving here tonight. Me and my partner walked in and stood where is says specifically "stand to be seated" and your male staff member asked us to "watch our backs" which was fine we moved as much as we could, after that he continued as he was walking up the stairs and i didnt at first understand what he said as he was angry and muttering under his breath but the other customers standing told me he said "because im trying to get past like" something to that affect. I feel this was highly inappropriate, ill-mannered and unprofessional. I understand its a bit of a busy night in the city centre but I dont know why this was our encounter. To be honest I dont think I will be back as it has really ruined my view of this place that i was extatic to show my partner which is really sad. We didn't even get seated or food just left unfortunately as it really upset us.

At Ragin' Ramen You choose your noodles, there are 3 different ones, the base of your Ramen : chicken, pork, beef or vegan and you can add extras... The restaurant is nice, the atmosphere is pleasant. I ordered "Light Yagami" the skewer is delicious it's a chicken skewer grilled and caramelized, there is corn, nori... the ingredients are fresh and the broth is very good it's comforting 😋😉 I ate there twice and both times I loved it. (Petite déception sur les 2 dernières fois où j'y suis allé, c'était trop salé, pourquoi ne pas salé un peu moins et laisser a chaqu'un la possibilité de rajouter comme bon lui semble ?)

Delicious vegan ramen - we tried both and both were excellent, as was the K-pop Oyster mushroom dish. Brilliant friendly service, would highly recommend 😊

It was really cool to go there with friends

I visited with a friend for lunch. We both had vegan ramen and desserts. The Ramen was good a lovely coconut milk broth loads of noodles and tofu but we both would have liked more veg, carrots or broccoli perhaps. There were bamboo shoots sweetcorn and spring onions in it but needed a bit more IMO. The desserts very great highly recommended and the staff were really lovely. We will definitely be back.

A ramen shop in the center of Belfast. The atmosphere was difficult to enter, but the inside of the store had a unique and nice atmosphere. It's interesting that the ramen menu is named after Japanese anime. I ordered Astro Boy. The noodles were delicious, and the soup was unusual in that it had star anise and Japanese pepper, but it was very delicious. The sweet and spicy fried chicken topped with chashu was especially delicious. One of the most delicious ramen in Europe.

Had the light yagami I wasn't impressed at all , chicken was if very poor quality especially considering it is the only part of the dish to cost much , very little of it which I am sure afterwards was a negative 🧐 . It was lunchtime and quite busy but to there was no doubt I need feel rushed as soon as I finished which wasn't a problem after using the toilet which has a working fan for quite soon time leaving a stained wall and an unpleasant smell

Lives up to its name. First you're ragin cause the service is ridiculously slow. Then you eat ramen. I would say the wait is only slow for them to get your order and to receive you're drinks. Other than that the food is delicious

Great customer service and delicious noodles! Cutlery given to us was not clean and table we sat on was sticky and clearly not cleaned thoroughly Although food was amazing, I felt it was quite expensive for the portion size. This would be the only thing that would stop me coming back frequently. Overall had a wonderful meal, recommend to everyone who wants ramen. Will be back again.

A great experience from start to finish. All the members of staff that we dealt with were really friendly and helpful, but the real star of the show is the food. The ramen was absolutely packed with flavour. I'll be back next time I'm in Belfast for sure.

Seriously delicious vegan ramen, and they offer gluten free noodles. The curry kabocha ramen was our favorite, and the Tokyo Twisters curly fries were excellent. The Sailor Moon ramen (pictured) was tasty, but not as good as the kabocha. Make a reservation because it fills up quick!

Excellent service and really nice staff however let down slightly by the food. To be fair I ordered the Taco Ramem which is difficult to objectively measure as it is a unique dish. Having said this the ramnen broth itself was average, the taco meat tasted dry and relatively flavourless. Some of the other Ramen dishes I saw being served looked good but for me fell short of a fesh and flavoursome ramen. Good but not great.

The ramen here is out of the world , there is limited but crazy option for the ramen, and the broth is what makes the the ramen taste so flavourful, they also have good choices of beverages, alcoholic and non alcoholic

Food was nice but felt my raijin was a far smaller portion compared to other ramen dishes ordered. The 1/2 egg is insane to me, anywhere else I've been you get a whole egg silly thing but seems so stupid to me. Broth for raijin was delicious and pork was nice and tender

(the Tokyo fries are a must! 🤤)

A friend recommended this place and damn what a recommendation it was, absolutely delicious, I had the Raijin Ramen noodles and the Chicken K-pops and enjoyed every bite of it, so much flavour. Service was spot on and a great atmosphere.

Tried the Raijin Ramen, the one using pork meat, tasted really great, the broth was on the balance of being creamy & umami. The Astro Boy was really nice as well, the pork was very crunchy on the outside, soft in the inside The service was really nice as well

Unfortunately My chicken ramen tasted like I drank straight sesame oil (I love sesame oil) but it was honestly all oil which I did share with the staff. We loved the staff and atmosphere, the fries were good and my husband liked his taco/ramen

We came for food last Sunday, Food portion is ok but it took some time to be served like 30 mins, soup was a bit bland but wasn’t too bad for me it’s still acceptable. Service was superb and I love the ambience.

Wow! I enjoyed a really delicious Ramen soup with a crispy tofu. My dish was vegan and it tasted wonderful. The staff was excellent- very friendly and attentive. Loved my experience overall. One slight aspect I would have craved for here would have been fresh, self-made ramen noodles. 🍜 but I also know that it’s not always possible. Despite the „not self-made noodles“ 100% recommendation to everyone fancying a tasty lunch/ dinner. Thanks so much to the staff!

Food was out of this world, service was brilliant. We ate at about half 2 and got seated right away. Food came out quickly and piping hot! Loved the choice of sour soft drinks. Couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough. We will be back soon!

Addicted to this place. Friendly, attentive Profesional staff who have been accommodating and have always went the extra mile even when the place has been extremely busy. Great atmosphere, music is always on point. Outstanding food at a more than reasonable price. Especially in the current economic climate. Had an absolute feast today and shocked at the bill, in the best possible way. Couldn't rate the place higher!

Hands down the best ramen I've ever had. Pictured is the astro boy with an added soy egg and cabbage. Delicious! Also friendly staff and great service. You can't go wrong. You might need to book though as it's quite popular

While I was hoping to try your food, I’ve been told you don’t accept walk ins anymore as low on food with 70% of tables empty and only serving bookings. Laughable to hear that at 2030pm on a Saturday night. Next time stick a note on your door and don’t make me wait in the lobby. #timewasters

Been here over 10-15 times. Best ramen place on this island. Had ramen in London and few other countries and they don’t compare. Best place ever. Checked out the lower reviews and felt light lacing up some gloves. Good job guys!

Excellent atmosphere and food! Totoro taco ramen, another level.

Comfortably the best food I had while in Belfast. A mix of traditional style ramen with some more eclectic options, in a really cool surrounding, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The service was super speedy, and I had a great vantage point in the window to watch the nightlife. I had the Totoro Taco + Ramen - to be clear, that's one dish: a serving of noodles in a deeply savoury beef birria broth, alongside three chunky beef barbacoa tacos for dipping if you like. The tacos were packed with beef, molten mozzarella and topped with a fruity yuzu salsa. It was a real departure from a traditional ramen, but a superb one. It wasn't gimmicky, just delicious. I also had a portion of chicken K-Pops - chunks of chicken thigh in a glassy batter drizzled with maple syrup gojuchang and mayo. Crispy, juicy and very more-ish. It was a big portion, too, so it's lucky that I'm greedy! Also, special mention to the veggies and vegan options - 2 out of 6 of the mains were vegan, and both sounded great. A crispy smoked tofu tonkotsu, and a katsu breaded pumpkin option in a curry broth. The sides could all be veggie and vegan, too, with oyster mushroom options instead of the fried chicken version. I only have 5 stars to give, but rest assured, I'll be back next time I'm in town.

The place is a bit small and crowded, but with great atmosphere and service. Small menu so you don't have to spend hours deciding what you want and it's Vegan friendly, which was appreciated by some in our group. Would live to see this place expand to a bigger location.
